This place is phenomenal! Melissa the manager on duty was extremely friendly. I wanted to have a margarita at the bar and was greeted and welcomed to the bar by her. This is where I met Daniel. I have been coming to this location for years, and it’s always a fun and friendly atmosphere. They are all professional and hard working at this location, and it shows! Daniel is a fantastic bar tender and keeps the drinks flowing. My favorite time to come is during happy hour and Sunday for brunch! Taco Tuesdays is a great time too! Daniel at the bar was the best part of the Chevy’s experience. He was super attentive and patient while I waited for my friends to arrive. We ordered asada fries and mixed grill with steak and shrimp — both were fresh and sizzlingly tasty on the pan (sorry took a bite already before taking the photos). This is a great Chevys location. We wanted to try their everyday 3pm-9pm happy hour menu (cantina area only.) The food didn't take a long time to come out even though the bar/cantina was full. A lot of women patrons here. That's rare for a bar. The rest of the restaurant was empty. Basketball games were on the many TV's. All the food tasted fine. We liked how the dishes were small and you don't have to have a full meal. Out of all the dishes, we like the little salmon tacos the most. The second one was the Mexican pizza. The last time I had a good Mexican pizza was at Taco Bell, the one by Fisherman's Wharf in the 90's. Those were some good times. The Mexican pizza at Chevys bought those memories back. It has been about 10 years since I ate at a Chevys. The one in West Covina closed about 15 years ago and we were regulars until they closed. The food did not disappoint. My favorite thing about Chevys is the fresh hot flour tortillas. I could make a meal out of them. The presentation and the food were spot on. The food was fresh, had a great selection, and the staff was right there if you wanted extra tortillas or a freshly cooked omelet. Paula greeted my partner and me with so much kindness and really set the tone for a great experience. Our waiter, Darian, was incredible despite how packed it was, he checked in constantly. I never had to wait for a refill, and he truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. This was my first time back at Chevys in years and my first visit to this location, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend! I will be returning soon.

Chevy is a fun place to eat - inviting, high energy, laid back and comforting. Food is always good and well presented. It comes with chips and salsa (made daily). Their margaritas are not watered down - you can taste the alcohol. I always choose a combo because I can't decide on one item plus I have left overs for another meal. It was my first time ordering the margarita sampler instead of my usual. It is a great way to try the different margarita flavors.

Good food and excellent service for a Chevy's Mexican restaurant. I would come back any time. Here for for a nice dinner and Chevy's did a great job. Combo plate with carnitas taco, chile relleno, and pork tamale was more than enough to fill me up and then some. Regular margarita was good and filled to the brim. Chips Service was better than most restaurants in the area that I've been to. Friendly, timely, attentive, accurate. I give Enrique an excellent score. Would love to have him serve me anywhere in any restaurant. Bathrooms were clean. Easy to find this location. And easy to park. Price was average for the Bay area for this kind of restaurant. I would definitely bring family and friends back to this Chevy's location.

The food was good and it arrived hot. We had to keep asking for more chips and salsa. It took a while to get service each time even though it was not very busy in the restaurant. Still all in all it was fun to go to Chevy's because there are not many left.

The chips and salsa at Chevys are still great. The appetizer sampler was good, I thought the chicken tenders were a bit heavy on the breading.

It had been a long time since we had Chevy’s, so since there was one near the hotel, we had to hit it. The salsa, as always, was great. We had the happy hour street tacos, and they were great. The queso came out cool… not cold, but not even warm. That would be the only issue. We sat in the bar area, and the bartender was great.

Chevys is Chevys you will get. I haven't been to a Chevys in a very long time and gave it a try once more. Overall it was fine but nothing to rave about. Service was good as the waitress was very attentive so kudos there. Food was ok and meat was bit too tough. Their desert was the highlight for me and definitely would order that again. Location isn't too great and the atmosphere need some work. Overall, if your options are limited late at night, go for it.

Came here on a Friday after work. The parking lot was packed. A few things to note the Happy hour is only in the Cantina and cannot be applied to your order in the restaurant. I ate on the restaurant side and had the chicken flautas, the steak & shrimp fajitas, and the surf and turf plate. The flautas were nice, crispy and packed with flavor. For the entrees the protein portions were on the lighter side and the steak was dry. However, the shrimp was quite tasty in both dishes. Our server Miguel was awesome! He was very attentive and anticipated our request. He brought out salsa before we went dry and refilled my drink before I was done. I will likely come back and as they have many deals like taco Tuesday and happy hour til 9pm.

Nostalgia always brings me back here and the salsa and chips. They always seem short-staffed and we haven't had the best service the last couple of times, but still keep going back. They try but it's clear sometimes they need more waiters.

We ordered: fresh guacamole, grilled salmon, fish tacos, 5 items combo ( tamales, enchilada, chili relleno), slow roasted carnitas, 4 items fajitas, and 3 tacos. For drinks: famous margarita, corona beer and watermelon candy shot. The food was great, and their drinks was awesome. The service, needs a little bit of an improvement but perhaps it was a little bit busy and they were overwhelmed. Otherwise, I would definitely go back for their famous blended margarita. Yummy.

This review is specific to the Chevy's location I haven't had this issue in any other location I typically go there to order fajitas the shrimp chicken fajitas are my go-to however after tax paying upwards of $30 the portions that you receive at this location are dismal compared to any other location I see no value for money and it's a huge turn off I get half of one chicken breast and 7 medium sized shrimp the veggies underneath don't even cover 60% of the plate and I don't get sufficient condiments such as shredded cheese like I used to again this is this location other locations I've had a different experience but this is the third time now that this has happened really hoping that they understand that people are paying good money for good food and should get enough without having to order appetizers if it's a large course lashley with tip it set me back $38.00 so only getting half a chicken breast and six small pieces of shrimp with barely any veggies and no cheese was annoying to say the least

I usually Love Chevys, But not tonight...first off the rolled silver was dirty and disgusting...dried food on the knife. Second the bartender/waiter had the personality of a wet dish rag....never even said hello, just walked up and said want do you want? He apparently doesn't understand English I asked for soft corn tortillas on the Salmon tacos for my friends order...he was so confused...we got flour tortillas ? We had the Salmon tacos before and they were great, tonight we could barely find the fish? I ordered the Super Cinco combo plate... price raised to $25. My usual go to. It was so disappointing! The food came in 5 minutes and was cold...like it was just stuff sitting around and assembled. Shame on you for trying to pass this off for fresh made food. You know people aren't stupid, why are you trying to fool us? It doesn't work!! All the portions were small the taco, enchiladas and tamales had no meat fillings just lettuce and salsa? I received a small amount of refried beans because the waiter never asked for my preference, I wanted black beans! I had to grab another waitress to get water, a Togo box and the bill, because the guy I had couldn't care less!!! He was not busy, just indifferent. I don't know what is going on there but the service was non existent and rude, the food substandard! I wish you luck, but if this is the path Chevys is taking, poor management, well it won't be around long!!! By the way I've worked in Hospitality 40 years and know this is not the way to keep customers!

It took them thirty minutes just to take our order, and another forty minutes to bring the food. When it started getting cold, we asked if we could move inside, and they agreed. But as soon as we moved, the food finally arrived—and then a staff member came over to apologize. I thought they were saying sorry for the long wait, but instead, they asked us to move again to another area. By then I was really frustrated, but I moved anyway. I ordered the salmon tacos, which turned out to be stale and bitter. Honestly, I have no idea how this place has a 4.5-star rating. Definitely not coming back.

The waiter with the orange jheri curl was one of the worst I've ever had, then they had the audacity to press 25% on the tip and hand it over it to be signed. I was sad when the other locations started closing but now I completely understand.

We've been going for a few months with NO issues IN PERSON DINING for the most part. The take out/pickup is an issue. Firstly, it takes 5-10 mins for the host to even come up to the front. Once they do, then they scramble and repeatedly ask what the order was. I've always waited to go in until the pickup time or even after, and it's never ready! Today, they completely messed up my order, and it's just so frustrating. Fortunately, I was able to get a refund, but that was after asking multiple times— while they were pretty much refusing and telling me to drive 30 mins back to the restaurant to get more food. It's not my fault they messed up, if my refund isn't processed by the 7-day mark. I will be calling again.

This is the worst place! I have the worst experience! It is the all you can eat buffet. Me and my boyfriend walked in, and they just told us to start eating. They didn’t even told us where to sit. We walked around with confusion, which is kind of embarrassing. We decided to sit at one table, but there were a lady bring us to sit at the different room. This makes me very confused. She also asked us if we were here for the buffet. I thought we said that right when we walked in to the door. Seems like their staffs are very miscommunication. This is the buffet, so I walked to get my own food. I don’t understand why are they charging the tips since I didn’t get any service from them. (Not even walk us to our seat at the beginning.) While I was grabbing food, I saw a middle age woman who seems like a manager screaming at one of their employee at the front desk in front of another customer. She was so loud that really scared me. The whole dining experience makes me anxious. The worst part is I write $91 on the receipt and they end up charging me $94 dollars. $94 dollars for all you can eat for two people?! They finesse me!

I’ve been coming to this location for years to celebrate birthdays and spend time with friends and family, so it’s really disappointing to say that the service and food quality have declined significantly. I recently visited with my family to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and it was unfortunately one of the worst experiences we’ve had there. After waiting about 30 minutes to be seated, we then waited another 15–20 minutes before anyone took our order. The male bartender who was assisting our table lacked basic customer service skills — he repeatedly walked by trying to speak to us while still moving, making it impossible to hear him. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. When we asked for utensils and additional chips, the server made us feel uncomfortable for even requesting them. Overall, the experience felt unwelcoming and poorly managed, especially for what was meant to be a special occasion. I truly hope management takes the time to address these issues and better support their team. This restaurant used to offer the kind of service and quality that kept us coming back, and it’s disappointing to see it lacking the qualities that make a great dining experience.

I had a very disappointing experience at Chevy’s in South San Francisco. I ordered the steak fajitas when I sat down, but the restaurant was so cold and drafty that I asked the manager to pack it to go. I took it straight to my car, opened it immediately, and started eating because I was very hungry since hadn’t had breakfast. To my surprise, the food was cold to lukewarm. • The steak was cold. • The vegetables were cold. • The rice was lukewarm. • The only thing that was warm and decent were the beans. For a dish that should be sizzling and hot, this was unacceptable. Especially after the waiter, shoving the 18% tip into my face which I paid in order to be nice. What made the experience even worse was the manager’s reaction. When I went back inside to throw away the container, I mentioned the issue to him. Instead of apologizing or offering any solution, he just smirked and brushed me off with a dismissive “okay, thank you.” No apology, no accountability, nothing. Very unprofessional. Overall, extremely disappointed with both the food quality and the customer service. I will not be returning.

Probably the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. We arrived at 9 pm (the website listed 10 pm as closing time) so we thought we had plenty of time. The hostess did not want to seat us (apparently the kitchen and wait staff was hoping to leave early). After finally relenting and seating us, they acted put out, rushed our orders (telling us they were closing), served cold chips and refused to heat them up when we asked (warm tortilla chips are a staple at Chevy’s), didn’t refill any drinks, and to top it off, a kitchen cook randomly emerged from the back at precisely 10 pm (when we were already done and about to leave) and yelled that they were now closed. Bizarre!

Not to bring down businesses but this food was absolutely disgusting won’t ever be here again , the tacos were dry what nothing but sprinkled Parmesan I told her I didn’t want beans she still put beans on my plate and also sprinkled Parmesan. The chicken wings were dry very little sauce nothing looked like the photos . Sincerely NEVAEH

If you want an AYCE brunch, unfortunately this is not the place. Much better tasting food and options in Los Moles. Felt robbed with the amount they charge vs what you get. Service is abysmal even though they were not that busy. Much cheaper making your own mimosas than overpaying for this brunch.

I would caution anyone from coming here. That was a hard wire found in the birria tacos. IN the tacos. We passed it around the table and one of my party recognized this as the wire brush for the grill. I don't know what it is from but it's steel and extremely hard and my son hurt his tooth biting into it. BESIDES THE WIRE!!! The food wasn't great. No charring on the skirt steak?! Might as well have been boiled. And the flavor was so bland. Birria tacos were so poorly executed that we still have tacos leftover and we aren't talking home. We haven't been to a Chevys since they closed the one in Stonestown and we will not be back ever again. It was horrible! I hate to give bad reviews and only do when it's really bad. Service? Think DMV. I brought it up to the manager on duty. Her response? "That's strange." Seriously? How about, "I'm so so sorry!" Nope! "That's strange." And the check is just to show I'm not looking for anything for free and the metal wasn't the server's fault. They must not get a lot and I'm never coming back so i might as well be charitable.

Finally decided to try Chevys for the first time and left incredibly disappointed. To start we were pretty confused as to why happy hour is only offered to one side of the restaurant (The cantina) all because we sat at the dining room we had to pay more for drinks. Our server did not bring us waters and we were served our food before even receiving utensils. We had to flag another employee down just to receive these items. For the price you pay for the food, the portions and food quality was upsetting. I ordered the Taco Vampiro without beans and cilantro. My tacos had a small amount of meat and only one tortilla per taco. For almost $9 per taco they were an absolute joke. My husband's burrito was small, he also did not order any beans. His burrito has ZERO meat. I have attached a photo of his burrito halfway through and as you can see, it's nothing but rice... Once again for a $16.50 burrito we expected better. When we left our server came over and decided to take the duty of preselecting the tip amount to 20% on the card machine. We adjusted for the service received and left with a clear idea that we will not be coming back. Do yourself a favor, forget the overpriced, low quality chain that is Chevys and support your local taco truck instead.

It takes a lot for me to post a review. I love Chevys but had the worst service I've ever experienced tonight at the Hickey Blvd Chevys. The restaurant closes at 10 pm. My group arrived at 9:05. The staff was reluctant to seat us and said it would be a twenty minute wait even though the restaurant was nearly empty. We think they just wanted us to leave because when we said we would wait, they seated us right away. Multiple staff came and told us they were closing soon even though it was only about 9:20. The chips we were given were cold. When we asked if we could get some hot chips, they said no because they were closing soon. It was only 9:30 at that point. The restaurant was freezing--we think they opened the door to hurry us. The food was fine, but they did not refill our drinks. Everyone's glasses were empty. The weirdest thing was at about 9:58 someone (a cook maybe?) came out from the back and hollered at us that they were closed. At this point we were almost done anyway--it was horribly rude. We had paid our check and were leaving by 10:05. Oh yeah the women's bathroom had NO toilet paper. Overall it was such poor service, all of us were truly shocked. If your waitstaff wants to leave BY 10:00, please change your hours to close earlier. I will continue going to Chevys but not the Hickey Blvd Chevys.
