From the time we exited our vehicle we were struck by the sleek decor and pristine atmosphere. Our server presented a menu of delicacies that admittedly evoked mouth watering. We ordered water and a sampler platter of appetizers plus a vegan meatball -- all were exquisite! Our entrée's did not disappoint either! A magnificent meal from start to finish!

I had the Seafood Linguini which was delicious. The ambiance and interior design is very modern and fresh. The service was great .

Wow! What a great spot. Had a delicious pasta dinner here with friends. Good service and fantastic ambience with the Christmas decorations and beautiful Christmas lights in the restaurant. Follow up 2 years later: this place is still such a classic delicious Italian restaurant with fantastic service every time we come in town to visit family.

I had my birthday lunch with my girls on a Saturday afternoon and it was so fun!! The food was great and the staff was even better!! Our server, Olivia, was the sweetest and made our experience even more enjoyable! 12/10 would rec TASTE and Olivia as your server!!! Love her!!

The food here is very delicious!!!! Very expensive though. Everything is big enough to be it's own meal except it wasn't satisfying to have one piece of tomato cheese toast. I don't agree with that being $8. Also, there's not enough duck in the duck dumplings, let alone I expected DUMPLINGS, not like, gnocchi. Other than that, everything tasted really great!

We had Thanksgiving dinner with the ESPN CFB J Crew of about 50 people. Nice establishment.

I have celiac disease and chose TASTE because their menu actually cites some GF items. I asked the waiter if they had GF pasta and they did! He told me they could make a solid chunk of the menu GF. I had Pasta Milano with GF pasta and it was DIVINE. I haven’t gotten sick, so I’d say they did a good job!

Small sized shrimp Alfredo was $26 takeout but food seemed to have been made with quality ingredients and it was very good. All of the staff were very pleasant and attentive.

I have been coming here since the night they opened and this was probably the best service we’ve had from the young lady at the hostess stand to the young man that seated us and our amazing waiter Kealan B. It was definitely top notch. He was so friendly and seemed to really care about his job! He recommended trying the pesto chicken gnocchi which was awesome! Another great night and as someone who’s been there for every menu change this one’s the winner!!

we went to taste tonight for our anniversary. everything from the focaccia to the entrees was absolutely phenomenal! my partner and i can both agree this is the best food we have ever had. even the servers were wonderful and extremely attentive with a packed dining room. fantastic!!

I had a dine-in experience with a friend today. It was the first visit for both of us. Blake was server. He was absolutely the BEST! He cared about what we wanted. He was patient. He even connected with my friend as they are from the same hometown. Making that connection made Blake feel like an old friend. I had the Chicken Masala (with extra mushrooms) and it was PERFECT! The Mushroom Soup...PERFECT! Everything was great. We'll be back. Kudos to Blake!

From beginning to end ... this meal was a celebration worthy of our Shackouls Honors College graduate!! We started with wine, drinks and the Taste Charcuterie Board, followed by salads, then on to our main courses... our guests enjoyed the 8 oz filet, Atlantic salmon, eggplant parmigiana, the shrimp Gamberetti, and more ! Our server, Lauren, was attentive, polished and professional; she brought a special sparkler & cotton candy plate for our graduate ... fun way to end a spectacular evening !

Second time dining here. Food was delicious. Had the beef carpaccio for app which was really good. However, they brought out our main dish before the app. They corrected their mistake and comped us a dessert which was also delicious (cheesecake).

Well just like the name goes … The Restuarant called ‘Taste’ Starkville, Mississippi left the best taste I have ever had in a pork chop. Was served by this amazing waiter called Excellence who recommended the Saltimbocca Pork Chops!! And it lived up to its billing… It’s going to find something hard to beat this pork. The foodie I am, I have had a fair share of pork chops and meats but nothing compares to the Pork Chop at Taste. Juicy medium rare, on a bed of potato wedges and stir fried spinach, all dressed with lemon basil salad .. 😋 😋. That pork chop is going to be hard to beat 🤗🤗

Eaten here 3 years in a row when visiting Starkville. Wait staff is tremendous. Food is always fresh and flavorful. Atmosphere is quaint and inviting. You do a great job.

Great food, great service. Had the mushroom ravioli, fantastic. The arancini, fabulous. The tiramisu, spectacular…

Good food. Nice atmosphere. However, it would be nice if the chairs were a little more comfortable. Other than that, I recommend this place.

We ate lunch before the Sunday Church crowd arrived. Not noisy and crowded. pleasant atmosphere comfortable seating and dining. We had great service food was ordered and received in a good time. Great wine selection, overall - it was very good. They do not offer a military or first responder discount. Fine dining. The pasta was like homemade not bleached not overcooked. Portions were more than adequate No one finished their portions. Chicken Marsala (fresh hot dish great seasoning) &. Chicken Piccata (capers were excellent and a nice overall citrus taste) The cream truffle ravioli was excellent cream sauce did not over take the taste of the food. You could actually taste the truffles and spices - roasted mushrooms were not over done. Tiramisu is a must do again (easily can share with another person) and lemon gelato was like real lemon & gelato superb 3 balls.

Very nice experience. The sampler app was fresh and delicious, especially the risotto balls and their special ranch. Had the veal piccata. It was cooked perfectly with a sharp, delicious lemon butter and angel hair. Service was friendly and excellent. Other reviews complaining about it not being Italian are off base to me. A quick glance at the menu and it’s clear it is Italian American dishes they offer, and they do it well.

We are from out of town and we had a wonderful dinner at Taste! The food was fabulous! We had the seafood pasta and for north Mississippi it was very good seafood! We are from south Louisiana. We also had the pepperoni pizza that was very good! Our server was very helpful and attentive. We will be back the next time we are in Starkville.

I have traveled all over the country and this was one of the best places I have eaten! The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. The portions are huge (you may need a take-home box). The service was absolutely top notch! The atmosphere is amazing. I had the best experience and I would highly recommend you check this place out. It is a meal I won't forget for a long time. Bravo to the chef and all of the staff!! I'd give it more stars, if I could!

Nadia was truly amazing!!! Engaging, patient and ensured we had top tier service!! The Italian sausage with peppers, and the vodka rigatoni pasta were delicious!! Definitely will visit again!!

We went for lunch and had an incredible experience! The design and decor is welcoming and impressive. We were seated in the bar area which was elegantly decorated for the holidays. I can't say enough about the exceptional service we received from Abi, our server/bartender. She is a powerhouse server and talented bartender. We got the appetizer sampler...fried ravioli, spinach dip, and risotto balls that were all phenomenal. Entrees were good...homemade pastas, well seasoned, and served hot and timely. The cheesecake was also homemade and super delicious. Bravo to Taste Italian!

My husband made reservations for us three here for my birthday and accompanied us was my mom, baby sister and niece. We had an amazing time! Food was 10/10.. raspberry drop was 10/10 waiter had great customer service, kept coming back checking on us and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back.

When our college team traveled to Starkville to play MSU, Taste reached out to us about catering some of our meals, and we are so happy they did! They were able to do two meals for our large team in short notice. The food was excellent and everyone we worked with was so nice, helpful, and accommodating to everything we needed on our busy travel trip. We will definitely be working with them again in the future!

Great restaurant, wonderful food and our server Addison was great! Attentive, but not overwhelming and the biggest bonus…she is the best cotton candy maker of all time. Thank you for making our night out special!

Nice atmosphere throughout the restaurant. Really unique features in the decorating that helps. They really were on there p’s and q’s. For they service and quality of the food it is moderately priced. Only complaint was that my filet mignon was over cooked.

I ordered bruschetta and I got 4 pieces of too oily toast, a bowl of chopped up tomatoes with a few pieces of chopped basil. I head to put the dish together myself and the balsamic vinegar wasn't a reduction but instead regular runny balsamic. Lack luster experience. For my meal I ordered the half capone sandwich which turned out to be so greasy and salty I only ate a few bites. However, my wife's lasagna was pretty good.

Love the atmosphere here and it’s a great place to spend time with friends and family. Our server was great and we enjoyed our time. The pasta dishes have good flavor but seem to be light on sauce for some reason. The tiramisu was very good though!

Taste is alright. The filet mignon is mediocre. It’s cooked well and the sides are good but overall it’s just meh. The salmon is cooked great but the orzo is very bland. The ribeye is also just a mediocre rating. It’s poorly seasoned, but is very juicy. It doesn’t pair well with shrimp. The sweet tea is impeccable. Another downfall is that the proportions are absolutely outrageous for its price! Also, the Classic Fries are way too salty. 4/10 Slightly reccomend.

Edit : Figured it was best to try something different, so I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan only to get home and discover it’s chicken. I think I’m officially out of chances to give them. For an Italian restaurant, the pasta should be sooo much better. Vodka Rigatoni is super bland and dry from the lack of sauce. It was the second time I’ve ordered that particular dish, because I thought surely the first time was a fluke. 😌 Atmosphere is good depending on where you’re sat. Drinks are always a 10/10.

I’ve been twice. Seated twice. And waited twenty minutes both times and never had a single person come to take drink or food orders. Two times I’ve tried and literally the same result. There no way I’m giving them a third try. They need better servers. And I’m not one to ask for a manager, so I just walk out. Both times the person that seated is just watches us walk out and doesn’t even ask why we are leaving.

We have always loved coming here, but tonight was different. Our waiter Donovan, went MIA during service. The bartender could hear us get upset and came over quickly to take our drink order, however when he asked the hostess to help deliver drinks, he did not want to help out his bar tender friend, which is incredibly subpar service and team work. Our appetizers and salads came out before our kids drinks. We ordered bar drinks and they were delivered first. We also had a party of 9 with a reservation, the ribeye that was ordered was freezer burnt and tough when ordered medium rare. We had to see it back and request that it be removed from our ticket. We, as well as my in laws who were with us, own two businesses and this was very embarrassing and a terrible experience. I was embarrassed that we brought them here and they had such a bad service and food experience.

I attended my cousin’s bridal brunch here, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Because of the large party, there were some misunderstandings with the reservation and seating. I actually had my own reservation, was seated, and even ordered an appetizer while they tried to sort everything out. However, the staff handled the situation very poorly. The male receptionist working the morning shift on 9/28/25 was especially unprofessional he gave my cousin harsh looks and spoke to her rudely while she was simply trying to figure out the seating. Misunderstandings can happen, but there is a respectful way to address them, and this was not it. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming and racist. I ultimately chose to get up and leave because you simply don’t treat people that way. The only positive was that the manager was polite and professional.
