Cocoro Bistro Sushi Bar

Went on a weekend around 6pm and the place has a good crowd already. We had the oysters (delish), spicy ramen (that broth) fresh sushi platter, a roll and a whiskey sour with egg white. I love the selection on the sushi platter and the freshness of the fish. The waiter was attentive enough, we were given two orders of oyster, didnt mind that at all and just told them to add the extra oyster order that we didnt ask for to the bill. Overall a pleasant dining experience in Stockton. We felt safe and location is convemient enough. More parking in the back.

Great food for lovers of fish or land meat. Amazing interior and music levels. Employees professional and kind. I hate to leave this place tomorrow

Visited Cocoro Bistro tonight while on a work trip to Stockton. We arrived at 6:15 and our party of 3 was sat right away, no need for a reservation. Very nice! We did however have to wait until 6:55 to place our orders and this was after having to flag down our waitress. She admitted that she forgot. I was only concerned about ordering because they close down at 8! Accidents happen, I understand. The food totally made up for any shortcomings in service though. The Agadashi Tofu is a must try! The rainbow roll is one of the best I’ve ever had and the sushi chefs slice the pieces thin so they are perfectly bite sized. The soft shell crab tempura was good if you like soft shell crab. I find it’s not for me but I can see how others would like it. The 3 Ways roll pretty good and the grilled edamame is perfect for a spice lover! The prices were on point as well. For the soft shell crab tempura, rainbow roll, tofu agadashi, and a to go Dill Salmon roll the bill came out to $51. Not bad. I’ve paid more for much lower quality sushi at other restaurants. I would visit this establishment again and I recommend them to others!

Pretty darn amazing! Chicken Catsu was the best ever..HUGE amount for one order, and at lunch! The roll I got was great...a little disappointed with the amount of soy sauce they give and it is all in paks. Our server was very nice and helpful. Parking is a little crammed and I am not too sure about seeing any handicapped parking. It's a nice place to just chill outside and watch the traffic and people and enjoy the scenery and fresh air.

I've been a regular at Cocoro since childhood, and let me tell you, it's like fine wine—it only gets better with time. The Spicy Scrunchy Scallop roll is a masterpiece that never changes, yet somehow manages to taste better every visit. The asparagus wrap? Pure magic, thanks to that unforgettable sauce.

Talk about a variety of beautifully plated perfectly made food. Beef wrapped asparagus..simple and delicious. We kept the menu through out ordering as we went along. Our server was pleasant and helpful. A must try in Stockton. 8/7/23 I’ve been back more than a handful of times over the years. Order something new every time, Always pleasantly pleased. 2024 So… they’ve add a Chicken Katsu sando to the menu. Scrumptious. You have to try it!! 6/10/2025 Celebrating my Daughter in law’s birthday on a Tuesday night. Party of 15. We love CoCo❤️ro so we had planned what we each wanted to order. To our surprise they did not have the dish. Yes 3 of us were going to all order the same thing.. Beef wrapped Asparagus. 😉 Waiter apologized, was patient and helpful throughout the dinner. We ordered salad, wings, soft shell crab, two types of ramen, teriyaki steak, potstickers, sashimi, the spicy red dragon, the oh wow, and four other types of sushi. Flavors are phenomenal. We were all passing our food around sharing laughing having a good time. I love that a restaurant can bring people together to celebrate and have a good time.

This place’s sushi is top-notch, Easily in my top five. The people here are super nice, and the atmosphere was really good. The service was amazing, having a waiter at your table constantly. Even during a good rush, we still got our food fairly quickly. The rolls were fairly big, and they filled us up. I would recommend this to anyone 👍

The salmon teriyaki dish is excellent. The salmon is not overcooked. It's tender and flavorful. Portions are generous.

I stumbled upon Cocoro well searching for sushi restaurants in Stockton on Google search and when I seen that they served sushi and ramen and had so many reviews, I knew I had to give it a go. I ordered the salmon lemon sushi roll along with the spicy ramen but got the spicy sauce on the side as the waiter recommended, so that I can create my own spice level and I'm glad I listened to his recommendation because I have a low spice tolerance. I tasted the spicy sauce before adding it, it was super flavorful and spicy. I slowly added the spicy sauce to my ramen until I reached my heat leave using about half of the spicy sauce they gave me. The ramen was so delicious as was the sushi. The presentation was beautiful. The staff was super welcoming and the environment was amazing. I highly recommend you try this place out if your a fan of sushi or ramer or both. I'm for sure going back soon.

But it comes a price for sure, I've always come prepared to spend at the upper limits of what I'm willing to pay for sushi. Servings are very large for the price but it's refined, really well executed food. Overall, 4 stars.

The food and service is good at Cocoro, but the last several times going the music was so loud I could not hear the others at my table. Someone I was with asked them to turn down the music. They did and then, went someone went over and just turned it louder. Even though we really enjoy the food, my friends and I have not gone back as we cannot hear each other talk.

We shared a few appetizers. The karage chicken was okay, but needed a sauce. We were charged $2 for aioli, which tasted bad. We didn't eat it. We also tried the spicy mayo $1 which was much better. The mixed tempura were average. The fried pork belly had more Brussel sprouts than pork. We had high hopes for it, but it was our least favorite dish. I would skip it. The winner of the night were the spicy chicken wings. They were amazing! Nice and hot and the skin was crispy even with sauce on it. I would go back just for the wings. In hindsight, we should have ordered some sushi. I personally would not come back because there are plenty of other restaurants to try. But if you go to Cocoro, definitely try the wings!!

We were seated at 6:30 and provided with water. No servers came by our table for another 35 minutes, despite waiving employees down. The server took our orders at 7:05. We noted that we had a baby and to please bring a bowl of rice ASAP. Rice took 25 minutes to arrive, while the rest of our order took another 20 minutes. We're now at over an hour before food was served. We were never offered a water refill, and despite asking for the check multiple times as the food was delivered, it was not provided until the meal was done. Atmosphere a 2 because it was loud and the chairs have seen better days.
