Awesome food, awesome people, owner is a gentleman and loves to crack jokes!
love this place, the service, the staff and most importantly, the food. try the north indian shrimp dish and the spinach naan. yum.
Very vegan and gluten free friendly. This family run restaurant is so good I dream about it! My favorite is the channa saag!
The best Samosa I had in LA. Owner delivers anywhere with no min charge. It’s a heartwarming restaurant
Fantastic vegan and vegetarian options with friendly service; the owner even came by a couple of times to chat which made the experience even nicer!
The food is great and they are really nice but it is small and around 7 pm you might consider reserving
Best chapatis I’ve had in ages!! And such a kind owner. Definitely will be coming back!
The food was really good loved the chaat papadi and chicken tikka masala will definitely be back!
The owner here always greets you with a big smile and a joke or 2. The food is very good and I have been coming here for years.
Owner is very polite! Will definitely return to try more dishes!
Family owned, local Indian food. The family are lovely and the food is the best!
Naan bread is amazing, vegetable samosas are heavenly, ordered the aloo Gobi and it was fantastic
I’ve been a happy customer here for over 25 years. The food is crazy good and the family who run Gangadin are super nice and always a pleasure to chat with.
Super quality food & a great place to bring people with food allergies. Lots of options. The owners are really friendly & they know the menu extensively
Gangadin is always scrumptious. My favorite Indian restaurant. A little pricy unless you get a lunch special. Always delicious!
Best indian food according to my taste buds. Order the rashmi chicken. You will not regret it. Another couple of recommendations are chicken tika masala, chicken biryani and korma.
Great food. Amazing service. And if you can't get the owner to tell you a story, your night is made.
All of the food was delicious and the service was great. The medium spicy is a little milder than I am used to.
By far this is the best Indian food in The Valley. With a great family running it iand a wonderful staff.
Been coming here almost weekly for 15 years. It's such a great atmosphere you feel like part of the family. The food is always spot on and the wait staff always gets it right! I've tried other Indian spots through the valley and nothing comes close to 'The Din'.
Clean Lovely, well appointed, lovely menu, good cook, and we come back again and again. The Channa Masala was a flavorful sauce and the medium spice was just right. Chicken Vindaloo was perfect. This place is well rated and deserves it! The staff is helpful and frankly, I thought the service was almost too fast! Wow are they efficient. Tie this together with a yelp check in discount and I am surely going back
Best Indian food in the area, The service is excellent, no question about it. Staff members are very well-trained, polite, attentive, and knows exactly what they are doing, this restaurant is now one of my favorites
This place is simply wonderful. I've been going her for over 20 years. The food is consistently great and the family that operates the restaurant are just so pleasant. Do yourself a favor and go, you will be hooked.
Best Indian restaurant ever anywhere! I’m crushed they are closed. I hope they find a new location🙏🏻 They use healthy ingredients and even my very sensitive tummy was always happy. Very friendly owners.
Love this place. I cannot eat gluten and they are always so helpful to ensue no sauces have wheat. Never had a bad meal and super fresh. Been coming here for years. My fiancé had a bad indian experience back in the day so refused to eat indian for a while. He now loves this place too!
Without doubt, this is the best Indian restaurant ANYWHERE! Being British, we do have a few Indian restaurants in London, but Gangadin leaves them cold! Great service, charming restaurant and excellent varied menu. Go!
Omg the best Indian food. I was so thrilled to enjoy my lamb chops Indian style. Thankfully perfect night to sit outside since ni dining available inside. A must place to eat in Studio City. Perfect meal lam chops and garlic naan bread
During these uncertain times, Gangadin has shown the ability provide quality food in a safe manner. After visiting the restaurant for the first time I found myself wanting to return and order the same thing. Each one of the meals ordered had a wonderful aroma that piqued my interest prior to digging in. On the pricer side, but you are getting what you pay for and what you get is worth the price. As with most things that take time this meal is not a "fast food" and will take anywhere from 30-45 min to be on your plate or in a bag for takeaway. If I can recommend any of their dishes it would be Onion pakoras, Basmati rice, Biryani, Garlic Naan (must order two order to satisfy the craving), Vegetable masala, and shahi paneer. Will most definitely return to try other meals on their menu.
Best Indian food in the valley! The owner and wait staff are so friendly and funny. They want you to enjoy the food and the company and do not try to rush you.
Caring servers and owner provide super delicious Indian delicacies. Loved my experience here and highly recommend. You may have to make reservations as they get really busy.
This is one of the nicest restaurant near to Universal Studios. Clean Place, Cleanest Bathrooms, Pleasant atmosphere. I'm from bay area and wanted to eat Indian food near to Hollywood studios. Just stumbled upon this restaurant on our search on google. On Sunday Had to cross the stalls of the farmers market but worth doing it. Everything in Medium spice is awesome, ***Donot order Spicy unless you really eat too spicy*** 1) Anything with Kheema Rocks (Kheema Nan, Kheema Samosa etc) 2) Soft chicken in the Chicken Tikka masala, The taste is just perfect 3) Yellow Dal is really nice to eat. While having our lunch, the owner Mr,. Manmeet took special care of us by making us feel home and got to know he is a really hardworking man. We packed Dal and Rice for our next food break :).
This family owned business is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in town! They are very friendly and the food is always good.
I've been eating here for more than 15 years now. The food is wonderful and the service is fantastic. If you love tandoori, chutney, saag, aloo gobi, naan, etc... you gave to come here.
Love this place! The food is always super fesh and flavorful, staff are exceedingly polite, and their vegetarian menu is huge! Highly recommend.
We have been coming here for years, although it had been a while still excellent Indian food, excellent environment, wonderful people. Will be back for sure!
This place is awesome! They go above and beyond for their customers! Great food! Excellent service! Their Saag Paneer goes great with their Raita! Be sure to try a Mango Lassi too!
Best Indian food in NoHo. They have a great combo package of chicken tikka masala with rice, vegetable samosas, and garlic naan.
Dining here tonight was a wonderful experience. I read through a lot of the reviews and chose to trust the good ones and go see for myself. The food is fresh, the naan fluffy and delightful, the sauces are fragrant and creamy and everything was cooked perfectly. I haven't had good Indian food like this in a very long time. The service was gracious and well timed. No wonder this restaurant is a staple of Studio City.
We started coming here when first opened. My first choice. Have tried many dishes and all were delicious. We do have our favorites though. Since our order is usually the same, I don't even need to give my name when calling. The service is first rate. Every one is so friendly and helpful. I'm disabled, can drive but not able to go in. They have graciously offered to bring my food to the car. I always look forward to seeing either Sangmeet Gangadin, Nazma or Suzanna. Thanking everyone for such delicious food and for their kindness. I know all customers will be delighted.
Best Chicken Tikka Masala! The rice pudding is delicious. The lunch specials are a great value but are for dine in only. Nice family run establishment. Service can be slow but is always friendly and welcoming.
Best Indian food anywhere! If you order food to go, give them an extra 20-30 minutes from when they say it'll be ready though... especially on the weekend. They get slammed with dinner orders and can't get that many meals ready at the same time. The food is worth the wait though! :-)
Best Indian in the LA area. I've been coming here for years. I love their lamb korma. Delicious. Love their Saag Paneer. Peshwari Naan. Chai tea. My boyfriend loves their lamb samosas. The Owner has always been very nice and gracious to us. The Staff, always attentive yet unobtrusive. Their food is authentic, warm and nurturing, wonderfully flavorful. Perfectly spiced and priced! ;-) The restaurant itself is clean and simple. We eat in and take out - just love their food.
Great vegan dishes.
Best Indian place anywhere near me. Ask the owners son about him delivering food to George Clooney.
I had lunch here with my co-workers and we all liked it. Most of us got the chicken lunch special, and we had garlic nan and three amazing kinds of chutnee for the whole table. With your main dish, you get a bunch of sides that are all pretty good. The chicken is also pretty good and well-seasoned. But the chutnee makes it even better. The nan, too. Because of the chutnee, nan, mango lassi, and friendly family-owned service, I'm giving Gangadin four.
The food can be healthy and tasty at the same time. I believe there is opportunity to improve on the taste. We ordered chilli Paneer dish which was ok. The bhindi was also ok. Staff was courteous. Place was clean, service was good. The paneer pakoda was good. Veg pulav with brown rice was ok or little less than that.
We've been there twice. 1. The owner is very rude to people who are of Indian descent themselves, especially if you bring kids who are regardless very well behaved. Trust me, next time if you go in there, look around the restaurant and take in what you see. Is there anyone of different demographics? The great mix we have here in LA? Likely not. And if so, just watch his behavior with that table and the others. You'll see what I mean. It's sad when you're met with such an assumption of poor behavior the moment you walk into a restaurant based on your background, the irony being when the owner is from the same part of the world as our parents. 2. He was extremely rude to our wives about the children, they were getting a table while the guys were parking the cars, he wouldn't have behaved like that if we were there at the time. It's a generational thing, the way he was talking to the women and also because they happen be of Indian descent themselves, but we thought that kind of behavior went out with the stone ages. So we actually left instead of ordering. 3. We tried to go back today many months after that first visit, because I convinced my friend I heard the Indian food is decent enough in a bland fusion way, not authentic but probably good for the kids because they can't eat spicy food. Let's try it I said, maybe I was wrong. 4. The owner while brusque with me and my wife he did seat us. However, the moment he sees my friends arrive and sit at the table he identifies his wife and says "You wrote a bad review on yelp. I won't serve you." It was in fact her husband who did, but of course he had to attack HER for it. So we left. It didn't even occur to him to say instead "How about we give you a good experience this time, then if you feel like updating your review to change it, we would appreciate that." Instead he tracks these reviews, and he basically black lists people instead of trying to improve on things. It was a pretty ugly experience, something we laughed about a few minutes later over a really authentic and great Indian meal east down the street on Ventura. However I strongly encourage you, even if you feel none of this behavior gets under your skin, that there are really great Indian restaurants in studio city itself even if you want to stay in the area. Just google it, you'll see.
Just went to try to get some lunch when they opened and was told they MIGHT open up in 20 minutes. Maybe the hours should change on the front sign if that’s the case? EXTREMELY disappointed with how the guy who answered the door answered. Don’t think I’ll be back to try again sadly
So disappointed. The positives: all types of Naan ..superior And the Saag Negatives: Chicken Korma tasteless, chili shrimp and shrimp vindaloo terrible small frozen shrimp and watery sauce. The rice with peas had regular rice with a handful of peas thrown on top. Overall the worse Indian food I have ever had...so bad I had to write a review
Ambience is good. But the food is very very bland ! No flavor in the food. We ordered green chilli Paneer and it was very cold with Paneer not being cooked and the gravy tasted of a mix of the chutneys which they serve with papads. The garlic naan was also served cold n very hard to chew. The Lassi was a watered down buttermilk .. again with NO FLAVORS ! The owner seemed to be interested in greeting and talking to his regular local customers n never even bothered to come to our table to ask about food service. People who know what good n great Indian food tastes like .... probably should not go to this place with high expectations!
