I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant and can confidently say it’s a place I’d happily return to. The nihari was absolutely amazing—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The meat was tender, the spices were well balanced, and every bite felt comforting and authentic. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into preparing this dish. On top of the great food, the service truly stood out. Our server, Ahmer A, was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. He checked in at the right times, made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it, and created a welcoming atmosphere without ever being intrusive. Overall, between the incredible nihari and the excellent service, this restaurant delivered a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

Came to Asher's kitchen (sugar land)just straight from airport…and it was ,i think , our super awesome decision to come here…everything we ordered including chicken karahi n charsi tikka were amazing….Mohammad Ahmer was our server and was kind enough to give us the best cozy place to sit!!!he was polite, efficient ,attentive and very warm welcoming! We live in Dallas and we’re visiting Houston. We were told about this restaurant and I wanted to try brunch. We ordered the breakfast breakfast which includes halwa Puri, channa, allo , qeema and halwa. My husband wanted nihari so he ordered the paya nihari. The food came promptly and was very hot. My breakfast was excellent as I’m quite picky about puris and their Puri‘s were very light and not too heavy at all. I’m also very picky about qeema. It was excellent. There was no bad smell and very nice flavor. I love Allu Cheney always and that were good too. My husband enjoyed the Nihari very much and said that it was excellent. I also ordered mangoe lassi, which was also very good. The customer service was excellent. I will highly recommend this restaurant.

Ashar's Kitchen never disappoints me and my family!! Their food, ambiance and set up is Amazing!! If you haven't tried it yet you are missing it out big time! Best Nihari ,biryani, dhaga kabab, tikka and so on!! I went with my family for Thanksgiving brunch and each and every dish was delicious!! So many items for adults, as well as kids! We had a great time!

The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and even if there’s a little wait, it’s totally worth it for how delicious the food is. Try it once and you’ll be hooked! Those who don’t like it… I honestly feel sorry for you 🤣. Definitely a 5-star experience all the way!

A great place for Pakistani food. It is my go to place whenever I am in Houston. Their beef dhaga kabab is the best. I love their Nihari however, this time it was a disappointment. During this visit, I tried their Nihari twice and both the times it wasn’t good. Once it didnt taste like usual Asher’s Nihari and the next time it was bad!!! Their breakfast buffet is good (weekend only). The halwa puri and lacha paratha with eggs are yumm. Their behari kabab is a must try!!!

I recently visited twice to pick up to-go orders, and unfortunately both experiences were disappointing. During my first order on February 28th, I had requested 10 naan. Many of the naan’s had raw areas and the sizes were very inconsistent. Some were unusually tiny, while others were stretched into odd shapes. It was quite embarrassing to serve them to guests. During my second order on March 7th, I ordered five seekh kebab boxes. I was told that each order would include six kebabs. However, when I got home, I noticed that the kebabs were extremely small, smaller than a finger. Each piece was only one or two bites at best (Picture attached). They also seemed dry and possibly stale. Once again, it was embarrassing to serve this to guests. Unfortunately, Ashar’s doesn’t seem to be the same as it used to be. I hope they take steps to improve the quality and consistency of their food

We ordered three portions of beef nihari via door dash And when we received it, we got very disappointed with the portion size. Got mostly the gravy and one small beef boti piece per portion as pictures. It’s ridiculous not worth the money at all. Ashers kitchen seems to be very stingy when it comes to delivering food. Paid $200 for Food Worth Maybe $45 – Felt Scammed by Ashar’s Kitchen We placed a special order from Ashar’s Kitchen (Sugar Land, TX) on October 25, 2025, for two half trays: Beef Paya – $100 Beef Nihari – $85 (Total: $200.26 after tax) When we opened the trays, we were shocked. The Paya tray 3 pieces of Paya and rest was just empty bones not even the ones you can enjoy— just floating in oil and gravy. Definitely not what anyone would call a “half tray,” more like $20 worth of food at best. The Nihari was even worse — the meat was pinkish, undercooked, and chewy, making it inedible. At least of all the restaurants Ashar should know what Nihari meat is supposed to be. We immediately called the owner/manager, who asked for pictures, which we sent right away. After that, we heard nothing back — no apology, no refund, no follow-up. For a restaurant that promotes itself as serving authentic desi food, this experience was unacceptable. I’ve included the photos and the receipt because this was not just a small mistake — it felt like a rip-off. I’m sharing this so others don’t lose their hard-earned money the same way. We’ve tried many desi restaurants in the Houston area, but this was by far the worst food quality and customer service we’ve ever experienced.

Very disappointing experience. I asked for a lime and a simple salad, but the staff member told me he couldn’t do anything about it because he’s new. I informed the management, expecting at least some effort or acknowledgment nothing happened. Poor service, zero follow-up, and no accountability. For a place claiming to offer authentic hospitality, this was a letdown.
