I ordered the original Tonkotsu ramen, and it was very good with a rich broth and generous portion. My two friends had the seafood ramen and were also happy with their meals. The ingredients tasted fresh and the portions were satisfying. We ordered a side of garlic, and they brought fresh garlic cloves with a garlic crusher for each of us, which was a nice touch. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The takoyaki was also tasty. We would come back again.
The food was very tasty. Big portions. The service was great and quick! 😊
I’ve been to this ramen spot quite a few times now, and it’s always been solid. The broth is rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and the noodles have a really nice bite to them. The chashu is one of my favorite parts — tender, well-seasoned, and not dry at all. This time we ordered two bowls of ramen and an order of fried calamari to start. The calamari was actually really good — crispy on the outside, not greasy, and a nice appetizer to share while waiting for the ramen. The space itself is pretty clean, though you can tell the tables and chairs have been around for a while and aren’t super new. Honestly, that doesn’t bother me — I’m here for the food, and it delivers every time. Service has been smooth each visit, and everything comes out at a reasonable pace. Overall, it’s a reliable spot when I’m craving ramen. I’ve already been back multiple times and will definitely keep coming back.
Tried the black curry out of curiosity. Honestly, it was a very disorienting experience eating what looks like black sludge while simultaneously tasting curry. 10/10 experience if you want to try something unusual. They can also make the curries vegetarian, too. The food is good but I wouldn’t say it is exceptional, however, giving five stars because the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating even though we showed up 20 min before closing.
Used to come here before Covid after shopping the farmer market. They changed the menu a bit. Like the ramen you used to get a roll slice of pork but now you get a chunk of stew pork. Still the good flavor. Also they have rice bowl now which is nice. I usually order the oyster fry too. They make it so nice here. Great dipping sauce too.
Fabulous, friendly, and fast Ramen Seas is an island of home cooking style Japanese food, exactly when you need it! Staff are cool and friendly, the place is cheery but not cheesy, a great spot to have that lunch or dinner with family and friends, or even saché up to the bar to have your noodles for one. I opted for the traditional Japanese curry, which was so smooth and delicious, it disappeared too fast! Good standard Japanese beers and sake on tap. Go ahead and eat here, it's an easy win!
I payed a bit over 20 dollars for all of that. It was really good, things that were supposed to be crunchy were crunchy. Whatever was expected hot was hot. Taste was really good. It was not to loud inside and the customer service was excellent. Food came fast as well. Only negative thing was my table did not feel really comfy.
Was expecting a long wait during weekday lunch but maybe I went on a good day! No wait. Started with gyoza which were very yummy, and I recommend them. Then tonkatsu broth ramen. Love that it comes with the egg and you don’t need to order separately. I feel the soup could have been just a little hotter but it certainly tasted good. Service was good; they checked up on us and gave water refill. Quite enjoyed it and will be back. Update: Ramen Sea is a handy spot to duck into when you want something warm and satisfying without overthinking it. Their ramen is pretty good, and the specials keep things fun—this time they had a spicy shrimp ramen that actually packed some heat and was easily the highlight. The gyoza are a win too, crispy and flavorful.
Came here for dinner on a weekday evening and it was empty. The staff was super friendly and helped me decide what to order. I went with the grilled veggie curry and the veggie curry ramen. The curry itself was tasty, though the broccoli and peppers felt too raw. The ramen was okay but the broth felt diluted and the noodles didn’t soak up much of the flavor. Portions were on the smaller side for the price, so it didn’t feel like the best deal.
Have eaten at this restaurant twice. Had the Tonkotsu Ramen and tried the Ebi Ramen both times. The second time, also had the calamari. Good broth especially the Ebi (shrimp) ramen. Shrimpy flavor but not fishy. I asked for the roasted garlic on the side for the Tonkotsu ramen so I can add it to taste. Big chunks of kakuni pork and half an egg that was marinated and sweet with jelly yolk. Calamari was lightly coated with seasoned bread crumbs and worth a try. The staff are very nice. Food came out quickly. Cozy dining room.
Visited this ramen spot located in Sunnyvale's Murphy Ave area for lunch. It wasn't very crowded during weekday lunch, which initially lowered my expectations. They offer two vegetarian ramen options: Veggie Miso Ramen and Veggie Curry Ramen. Based on the waiter's recommendation that the option is richer, I chose Veggie Curry Ramen one and requested it to be made spicy. There’s also an additional spice level called Habanero, which is the highest. From the first bite, it hit all the right notes and maintained that flavor throughout. The noodles were delightfully chewy, the tofu was soft, and it included mushrooms, green onions, and corn. An egg can be added upon confirmation. Overall, I enjoyed the flavor of the Veggie Curry Ramen, it’s definitely worth trying, although it’s not the best vegetarian ramen I’ve ever had. If you prefer a milder flavor, I recommend the Miso Ramen for lighter veggie option. The seating and cutlery could use some improvement, but the service was good.
We visited this cozy ramen spot on a chilly Valentine’s night around 8:30 PM. It wasn’t too crowded at that hour, which made for a relaxed dining experience. The restaurant itself is quite small, with around 10 tables, and the staff—including both the servers and the host—were warm and welcoming. As a vegetarian, I had a couple of concerns. First, the limited vegetarian options—only two ramen choices and three vegetarian curries. Second, given the small space, the strong smell of fish and seafood was quite noticeable, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times. We ordered one of the vegetarian ramen options and a curry. The food arrived quickly, and from the very first bite of the curry, all my concerns faded—it was absolutely delicious! The ramen was flavorful as well, and the portions were generous. Even with just two dishes, we had leftovers to take home. Overall, it’s a great ramen spot in Sunnyvale, but I’m giving it 4 stars due to the strong seafood smell inside.
Chance find walking around Murphy Avenue in Sunnyvale. The menu was simple--primarily ramen/curry centered, but has assorted appetizers and limited selection of mini donburi bowls. We ordered the takoyaki, tonkotosu ramen and a curry dish. However what particularly caught my eye and was very curious about their black curry--made with activated charcoal (not sure what that meant)--so I took a chance. I paired it with creamy crab croquette (additional cost), it was surprisingly tasty. Be forewarned there is a little gritty aftertaste, but overall it was very nice and it went well with the crab croquettes. The takoyaki was surprisingly delicious; the texture was a little creamy and tasted nice--I would order it again. The tonokotsu was ordered for it to be spicy and it checked the box--it was also very flavorful. Our meal was reasonably priced at about $45 for 3 items. The service was good & the waitstaff was attentive. I am looking forward to returning.
Came for dinner on Valentine's. I liked my seafood ramen, which had unclear broth base nevertheless tasted with scallops, clams and shrimp in it. You can substitute regular ramen with Konnyaku yam to be keto friendly with an extra $1.50. Tonkatsu ramen had delicious soup base that tasted like pork. However, the heavily bread-crumbed Chicken Karaage, though tasted and tender inside, was not very good because the batter was too thick. Small space and intimate vibe. Table was cramped and not too comfortable. Service was friendly and attentive. Recommend their ramens.
It's a Decent size ramen shop in downtown sunnyvale. The street is closed for vehicles, so you need to park on other streets or near the parking structure. We came just after they opened. It is a nice restaurant that also serves alcohol. We ordered clam ramen and tonkotsu ramen. It is a generous portion even though we see it, It looks kind of a small portion. The noodle is cooked nicely and has chewy texture. It comes with charsiu, a whole egg, and an ear mushroom. I like it. The broth is rich. I wish I could finish the whole broth, but it is too rich for me. The spicy one is good, and it is not that spicy for me. The seafood one was light and good. Overall, it was a nice dinner. The service is also good. Our server constantly came by to refill the water.
Ramen Seas is a small restaurant in downtown Sunnyvale and on the day I was there for lunch with a friend it appears to be under staffed since we waited a little longer to be seated. There were only six staffs altogether that day and therefore people are waiting in long line to be seated while empty tables are yet ready to seat them in. I had seafood Ramen that day and it was pretty good actually. I would come to this place again but a bit earlier than 11:30am to beat the crowd.
Visited for lunch today and it was fair. There were some vegetarian options on menu. We ordered edamame, vegetarian miso ramen, friend had black curry and husband had vegetarian curry ramen. Items were okay in flavor, decent portions yet not worth a $70 lunch in my book. The curry and miso ramen tasted very similar. In any case, perhaps their non-veg dishes are great...if looking for tasty vegetarian, great price ramen - this isn't the place.
