Been coming here for years; top notch staff and really great food. All day breakfast is served at this Friendly's and the omelets are the best; I've paid nearly three times as much for almost the same type of omelet at a fancy upscale hotel restaurant buffet that couldn't compare. I recently had the latest edition of the Vermonter Burger that was a long ago favorite many and has returned; it's better than ever and it brought back a load of memories. And there's always that wonderful ice cream! This is one of the Friendly's that was completely renovated a couple of years ago, and it's better than ever. While other restaurants have struggled during the COVID pandemic, this Friendly's is always crowded to its permitted capacity (with masks, social distancing and other safety precautions) at the dinner hours, so they're obviously doing something right.

Truly wonderful service ❤️ and we we're a large group for a kid's birthday dinner, which isn't easy. The ice cream and fribbles were as delicious as always. And the m&m pancakes are my son's favorite (although, they aren't doing breakfast all day anymore, so check before you go if you're going for pancakes)

What beats a friendlies Frank and sundae? Absolutely nothing. The place is great. Even when it’s getting slammed, the staff works hard and service is quick. No complaints. I always recommend it and love going.

My husband and I came here this past Thursday night. My birthday was the day before, and I was craving a grilled cheese and ice cream so we went, expecting a nice meal but nothing crazy. We ended up having a blast, thanks to our server, Justin. Right off the bat, he was so sweet and funny, and getting us to smile and laugh along with him. There was a miscommunication with my husband's order and he came right over to apologize (mistakes happen!) and seemed genuinely upset and wanted to make it right, and just by apologizing, he did. Our food was hot and very tasty (Friendly's has really stepped up their game) and when we went to order ice cream, Justin recommended a new flavor based upon what I like, and I ended up LOVING it! I've had great servers before but he truly went above and beyond to give us a great experience and a "birthday dinner" we both really appreciated. Days later we're still talking about how when we go back, we hope to have Justin as our server because we know we'll have a great experience again. Thank you!

Have been going to Friendly since I was a child! To this day, it's still a great family and friend diner chain with delicious food and ice cream (definitely get their burgers, wings, and ice cream)! I'm super happy that they brought back the bone-in wings since they were gone for almost a decade!

PLEASE don’t let this place shut down! You can’t beat this places prices for what you get at a sit-down eatery. Service is fine, food is consistent albeit servings are a touch small for adults (no problem for me) but prices are amazing. It’s cheaper to eat here than it is at Five Guys.

Love Friendly's. Lots of options and now they have Lobster Bisque. Can't go wrong either any option infusing the ice cream. The mini mozzarella sticks are so delicious. You get a lot. Brittny is fantastic.

We were craving something sweet, so we decided on Friendly's for ice cream, and it was the best call! The banana split and one-scoop sundae were delicious, with just the right portion sizes. The waiter was friendly and attentive, even though we were only having dessert. If you're in the mood for fantastic ice cream and great service, this Friendly's is the place for ya.

Today's food hi the spot. The fried raviolis were great, and I ordered the Senior Cheese burger meal. Everything was prepared just right and it was the perfect amount. The server ( I think his name was Thomas) was very pleasant also. I'll be coming back.

Unfortunately, came too late for breakfast so had a 1/2 Blt on sour dough with a delicious bowl of white clam chowder..Had a delicious Happy Landing Sundae..This place has the best wait staff..Even the Manager dropped by to make sure everything was OK. .My friend had the Philly Cheese steak which she had enjoyed before along with a small dish of yummy ice cream..We both enjoyed our experience..

I ordered the exact same thing as when I was a child. Everything was amazing just as it was back then !!! I absolutely love this place. No one should take it for granted. Its a wonderful happy memory for me and I'm so glad I got to visit.

Today is your lucky day! Because the secret is out, and I'm letting everyone know. Forget about going to the diner! Friendly's is your new "Diner"... Yep that's right, diners used to be a reasonable alternative to the restaurant but not anymore, it costs more eating at a diner than most restaurants these days. BUT not here: you can get a complete breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes/french toast, coffee/tea for two people and spend less than what it would cost one person at any diner! And that's not it, Friendly's has so many classics to enjoy the rest of the day. Here's just a few nice choices that made this place famous for; Fribble ( classic milkshake), fishamajig ( fried fish sandwich), clam strips (basket), ice cream sundae...all classic Friendly's, plus lots more! It's not a fancy place, or decorated much but the basic" diner" type entrees are just as good. Let's skip the diner and save a few dollars, lol.

The steak was juicy and flavorful, the mashed potatoes were buttery and smooth, and the broccoli was fresh and perfectly cooked. I also grabbed a side of onion rings that were super crispy and totally hit the spot. And of course, I had to finish it all off with a vanilla Fribble—classic, creamy, and just as good as I remembered from when I was a kid. It brought back all the nostalgic vibes! Great service, great food, and a really chill atmosphere. Definitely a go-to spot when I’m in the area.

I hadn't been the a Friendly's in so long that when I went, I felt like I was zapped back into my childhood. The ice cream was just as good as I remembered it. With the waffle cone? Mm-mm. The burgers and sandwiches are very good. The breakfast(which is now all day) is good. I got the Big-Two-Do with cinnamon roll pancakes(for .99 more), scrambled eggs, and bacon. The Munchie Mania(3 appetizers) is a nice meal. It is the only appetizer not included in the half-priced apps. Everytime I go, I get a Waffle Cone. It is so good, the only thing I have to say is the paper that goes around the cone has glue that sticks onto the cone.

I treat my nieces and my mother to a late lunch after a movie at that location of Friendly's. The food and service was great but I was 😞 😒on how my Reeses Friend-Z came out, the way they advertise it was nice crumbled Reeses peanut butter cup pieces mixed with Chocolate and peanut butter sauce. But I got mines different mine only had ice cream,chocolate fudge sauce and one Reeses peanut butter cup. There was no peanut butter sauce and no pieces of Peanut butter cups

Friendlys has always been a staple and it remains so. Simple food in fair sizes and fair prices. Quick service. Nothing complex or confusing. Never surprises. And ice cream, can't really go wrong there.

One of my family's go-to lunch spot after we attend church. Always arrive here around late noon and there's plenty of seats around. The latest on the menu they had was the Honey BBQ Chicken Supermelt and it absolutely craved my appetite. However, I noticed they reduced down the choices in their dessert menu. That's unfortunate since they are known for their sundaes. The staff are always super friendly and tentative when you order.

I am trying to figure out a way to explain what the Friendly's experience is for those who have never been. The best I can come up with is imagine if a diner and Denny's had a love child. Friendly's has been around for years. I used to love going to it as a kid. I arrived at this one at about 5:00 on a Saturday. It was pretty crowded. The parking lot was full. As I look around, I see a lot of middle school, high school and families with children there. So it seems like the tradition of an attracting younger taste buds still holds true. A big part of that is they are known for their ice cream, although I used to love their burgers. With that in mind, I ordered the fish and chips. I know, who orders fish and chips at a Friendly's? ME! 😂. The other order at the table was a kid's meal. I think it was a great value. For $7.99 a grilled cheese sandwich, french fries, a drink and an ice cream hot fudge sundae was all covered for that price. Keep in mind those items are interchangeable because the child can pick from a menu of what they want. For example instead of french fries, broccoli could have been chosen. Are instead of grilled cheese, a quesadilla could be ordered. It is also kind of cool that the child menu comes in "sizes". They have one for smaller children and one for bigger ones. That's pretty cool The fish and chips were not the highlight of my visit. The fish came out very hot which is great. However, the texture is a little hard to explain. I was expecting a light and flaky bite. The fish was more "chewy" and it was salty. I put generous amounts of the provided tartar sauce on it. I also ask for extra lemon. I did eat it all, mainly because it was $17. But I will probably not ever order it again. Speaking of the price. I expected a higher grade of fish for that price. Additionally I recall the french fries being better when I was younger. These french fries are the thinner variety almost shoestring like. Unfortunately they get cold rather fast because of the small mass. The kid's plate seemed fine. That makes me happy because this is the kind of place that belongs in your childhood memory. Eating with your parent and just having a good time. The meal came with an activity book and a spoon that changes colors based on the temperature of the food you put it into. Not sure if I'm putting that into my child's mouth, but we may use it for science fun. Keeping in mind that this establishment isn't known for the meals more than it is for the ice cream, let's talk dessert. The kid's meal allows a choice of three different ice cream creations. The classic hot fudge was chosen. And I was told it was very good. I ordered the large sundae. Came with three scoops and three toppings. I had a hard time choosing. I ended up with a mocha ice cream, cookies and cream and chocolate chip. I topped it with hot fudge, cookie dough and marshmallow. At almost $10, it definitely filled me up. It was very sweet and satisfying. I definitely enjoyed the dessert and would come back for that. I definitely still see this as a place for the high school and college crowd. I also think it's a great option for parents who want a simple establishment to take there children to. The charm of Friendly's is its still very old school. No fuss. It's not fancy and you can get a good value on a child's meal. And I don't know any child who's going to complain after eating ice cream! 😁 Slight Update: I returned to Friendly's with my son. I ordered the tuna fish melt. I know, again with the fish from friendly's 🤣. I don't eat red meat give me a break. Anyhow, that sandwich is the bomb. I bet it's a sleeper on the menu. I enjoyed the tuna fish and fries. If you want to kick it up a notch, get a side of coleslaw with it!

Extremely pleased with the food, staff and overall experience. However, I must add that they’ve gotten stingy with their icecream. I do not like ordering by oz. (Who knows weight and ate they really weighing it out), should still be by the scoop like. Large sundaes are not close to full bowl like they used to be (with their 5 scoop sunda) but yet are still pictured that way on the menus and ads on tables. Felt like there wasnt enough ice cream to go with its toppings. But wasnt so bad that wont stop me from returning. Still delicious 👍🏼

I had a Thanksgiving Open Face Sandwich special that was absolutely delicious. Menu options I feel are limited. Service was great, they did forget the Reese's Pieces in the bottom of my wife's Conehead. There was some kind of school event that had just let out so there were a lot of young people there. Maid service a little slower and atmosphere a little louder. But hey, it's Friendly's.

We enjoyed our Vanilla Fribble with a triple combo appetizer (mini mozzarella sticks, chicken quesadilla and chicken tenders) while we waited for our main course. I enjoyed my favorite, the Fishamajig platter. My wife liked her double Cheeseburger with bacon platter. Mom thought her hot lobster roll was lacking in flavor. We all split a Caramel Fudge Brownie Sundae dessert. Overall, it was a nice experience thanks to quality service and food. We will be back.

This Friendly's location is great for kids. I have 3 toddlers and they're all nuts, especially when they eat sugar. So we like taking them here because they wait staff and other customers are very patient and (excuse the pun) friendly. Today, our waitress was Gerrianne and she was excellent! Every single time we come here. My kids loooove the cool drinks they have, one is called sharks in the water. It has gummi sharks swimming in a blue colored sprite. The kids meals are very cost effective and come with an ice cream. There are healthy options if you want, most people don't realize this. Keep in mind they are friendly... Not fast, and not always accurate with the order, but always friendly. A great place for a toddler's birthday dinner.

The waitress wasn’t too nice to my 6 year old daughter. Geeted by a pink sign asking to wait. There was no personnel at the front of the store. Eventually, someone from another group waiting to be seated walked over to the kitchen to ask if someone would eventually come out to help. Soon after a young gentleman walked out, reiterated the sign, and told us we had to wait. He did not seem concerned, and his demeanor was not the friendliest. Eventually, when we did get seated we were introduced to Cristina, who did a great job waiting our table. The dessert and her positive attitude made up for a lack-luster greeting. Would revisit again.

Honestly, the food was a bit subpar because of the service. Usually service is okay, but not this time. I asked for a salad with grilled chicken, dressing on the side, and my order was brought to me with a fried chicken salad. As a person with certain dietary restrictions, I was then asked if I can just eat the fried chicken, when I specifically asked for (3-4 times for clarification) chicken that was GRILLED. That makes no sense. I then had to wait an additional 20 minutes for my own food, while everyone else had their food served to them. The server also spilled some of the dressing on the floor.

I love Friendly’s. Since I’ve been a kid, I used to go there every year I graduated another grade in elementary school. One by one they closed down with only a few left the spare. I am guilty of not going there to support enough myself, but the other day I did go. The staff was very nice and friendly, no pun intended, but the product was pretty basic unfortunately. The ice cream was good but the food before it was bland and very processed feeling. I hope they never go out of business for sentimental purposes, but the product has to take a few steps up in order for it to be a go to place for me. At this point Ice cream will be the only thing I’m looking forward to if I’m on my way to Friendly’s.

I love Friendly's. The food tastes good. It took too long for them to seat us, and it wasn't even crowded. The roof has damage, you can tell because the ceiling has wet spots all over. So they really need to fix this. Also, the air conditioner vents are filthy. These should get cleaned immediately. I am a person who likes to eat at clean places. This should get addressed and worked on like yesterday. I don't know about others, but these issues are over our head, so please, the owner of the building should get swamped with concerns so this can get fixed.

There aren't many specifically kid-friendly restaurants left. I'm glad Friendly's is holding on. There aren't any updates inside since I was a child but the ice cream has always and still is a hit for the munchkins. The food is maybe a step above fast food.

Surprisingly tasty Clam chowder, Full of clams and the right consistency. Really well executed. The Turkey dinner was overly salty however, not nicely plated and corn as only vegetable is ridiculous when it is not wartime... The delicious icecream sundae made things right however. Service was friendly.

Everything was just mediocre. We were seated quickly but were brought to a table where all surrounding tables were occupied while there were plenty of other tables available. Food came out quickly but weren't that good. Quantities were small, wings were large yet dry, ice cream scoops were small, disappointed because we deliberately saved room for ice cream. I gave 20% tip but felt the service worth at best 10%. We were missing a set of utensils. Our server gave us a vibe that she really doesn't want to be there. I grew up with Friendly's and really want my kids to enjoy it as much as I did. For me, Friendly's should be a place where everything should be "wow." Because after all, it's an ice cream heaven.

This Friendly's often has good lunch specials. I appreciate the easy parking situation and the location. Its a good spot to quickly get some burgers and fries. Their home-fried potatos are good but you can tell they were frozen so minus 5 points for not having fresh potatoes. Their french fries are thick and pretty tasty so that makes up for the potatoes. The burger is actually pretty good I ordered the bacon double cheese burger. I liked it a lot. My friend got a bacon, egg and cheese and he said its his go to Friendly's choice. Overall i give this Friendly's a 3.5 out of 5. They didn't do anything wrong but its not meant to be a 5 star experience. I would go back but I wouldn't go out of my way to get there.

They had the worst wings I have ever had. First the garlic Parmesan wings I ordered wasn’t even fully cooked it was so slimy. Then I had them cook it some more it tasted better but it was still very disgusting.

We ordered a side of pickles along with our meals. When our server, Kenny V., came with the meals, we kindly reminded him to bring out the pickles. He then went on to say “Oh right the pickles. I will be right back.” He proceeded to help other customers and as he walked passed us he said that “the pickles would be right out.” When he came back to see how the food was we reminded him of the pickles. He said “Oh yes i’m so sorry” and then he walked away. As he walked into the kitchen he began to laugh. When he came to take our orders for ice cream, we asked again about the pickles. Then after we got our ice cream he handed us the check. We never got the pickles. I understand that it’s not that big of a dill 😜 but if they didn’t have them then he should have said so instead of making us wait, anticipating the pickles. Also he was reminded multiple times and each time failed to bring them and he didn’t make the effort to write it down after the first few times of forgetting. We won’t be returning for a while and maybe not ever. 😭😭😭

The last time I went was about 5 years ago for my nephew's birthday. And that time there was roaches crawling under the tables. I swore never to go again because that was not the first time that I seen roaches crawling under those tables. I decided to again because my niece's love to go there and I was babysitting them. Well I tell you this place does not surprise me anymore. This time I went I did not see any roaches but man I would prefer the roaches over the stench of the carpet. The whole place is covered in carpet so I can tell by the smell that they do not wet vac that place. It smell like carpet mold was growing under the floor. Who and what idiot decided to installs carpet on the floor in a busy restaurant? Anyways I gave it 2 stars and it was not because of the food but because of the great customer service that was given to us. The waiter went above and beyond to take care of us. Conclusion I will probably go back in another 10 years to this place (if I am still alive), if it is still around. I Just want to see if maybe the robots that are suppose replace us humans will do a better job at taking care of this place.

This is my second time ordering from this location through uber eats and part of my order is missing once again. I just ordered two kids meals and a drink and ice cream was missing from one of them and the poor guy delivering my order gave me the bag with the one drink I received and it was dripping all over the place. The guy had uber bags to keep the food contained so I know it was not his fault. He also told me they seemed very disorganized in there so whoever packages the orders here is not taking their time or just doesn’t care. It’s not okay i’m receiving half my drink that I did receive and the guy has a leaking bag in his car. This is the only friendlys that’s close to me and i’ve been eating friendlys since I was a child so I would hate to not come here anymore but you guys need to fix something.

The male waiter with glasses that served us tonight Thursday 6/12 around 945-1030pm was very rude and passive aggressive while we were ordering and would sit in the back for extended periods of time making us wait to order anything or give us service when we needed it. The place was pretty much empty. Food was ok.

Friendly staff; customer service was just okay, average just like the food. It's more for kids and seniors. Personally would not recommend for other people. The food isn't worth the price.

Went to the Friendly's on Hempstead Turnpike. Easy to see why this chain resturant has closed many locations. While it features a ample parking lot and spacious seating, this is where the Friendlyness ends. Having revamped their menu, many of the old favorites are gone, replaced with questionable choices such as the Doritos burger with the chips toppingthe myriad of other things piled on top of it. Our server, a young girl didn't know what a pattymelt was and never heard of it. After explaining what it was, she happily said she would see if the kitchen could make it. What I got was anything unlike the old favorite served years ago. It consisted of under cooked ground beef with a marginal amount of onions and hardly any cheese on sound kind of marble bread that they said was rye. The other entree was their country chicken wrap. This consisted of chicken, lettuce and tomatoes in a wrap with a vinegarete sauce, which was requested to be on the side, but was coated over the wrap. The heat quality was lacking on both items and the fries as if they needed to be refreshed. The onion rings were good, but cut very thick. In looking at the ice cream and dessert menu, many of these favorites are gone. Like most ice cream places, chopped peanuts as a topping is gone in favor of the food police. Some of the old flavors are also gone in favor of their best selling ones. Every thing seems to have a coating of whipped cream on it, from tge ice cream to the milk shakes. There was a time that Friendly's evoked good tasty dinning that was not just for kids. But it appears the lackluster has gone. While I may choose to grab a pint or quart from my local supermarket freezer, dinning at their resturant is no longer on my menu choice

Wow, so sad that the staff (at least 2) work so hard seating, serving and even in the kitchen. Left without the ice cream order since it just took so long. I cant imagine that they cant hire more help. Way too long of a wait and so many others here were waiting long too. We wont be back. Wish I read the other reviews before wasting so much time there. Food was good (not great) not worth the wait.

The kids macaroni and cheese was very dry, even had the cheese powder still showing. The kids grilled cheese was toast with one slice of American cheese. Chocolate milk went back because you couldn’t even taste the chocolate. $52 for three kids meal which weren’t even eaten..such a disappointment to the Friendlys I use to know,

Ordered an appetizer online and arrived at the estimated pickup time. Unfortunately, we had to wait over 30 minutes for our order to be ready and eventually left without it. Disappointing service.

The food was just horrible. I ordered the chop cheese which I was excited to eat. When we got it omg the bottom bread was so soggy and the meat was not tasty at all. I couldn’t even pick it up to eat it like a sandwich. They offered us something else so we got the Turkey melt and that was even worst. It had one slice of Turkey. I will never go there again! Just disgusting!

Coworkers were rushing my friend and I for no reason was just sitting and getting ice cream. There were maybe about 10 other costumes only. The manger was very rude to my friend and I and we were just standing trying to pay our bill. Do not go here!

Waiter telling me he can't put two scoops of ice cream in a large cup because I wanted extra toppings. Very rude and unprofessional. I asked for the manager and no manager was available. No wonder all the Friendlys are going under. Where is the health department to see the filthy disgusting serving stations? No glove No hats.

I grew up in East Meadow, and my dad used to take me and my sister to Friendly's. No I have my family, 2 beautiful kids, and we were very excited taking the kids to Friendly's. Unfortunately, the gir wasn't very helpful when we wanted to take out food, we waited a lot, we ended up leaving Friendly's because no one could assist us.

Went there to eat with my daughter. We were seated quickly but then promptly forgotten about by the staff. After 20 minutes when no one had come to our table and we were about to leave, the waitress arrived (no apology for the wait and the restaurant was not crowded). We were told that there was no pasta, no stir fry, and no turkey (we had gone there for entrees), and that these items would not be available going forward either. It seems like the only reason to go there now is the ice cream- so then why not just be an ice cream place? We left seeking dinner food elsewhere.

As a lot of the Friendlys have closed I hope this one does in the near future as well. I had the worst experience. Cold food, long wait, a strand of hair on my side of the table and sticky menus. I ordered the all you can eat shrimp at the time. It took forever for the waitress to bring it out and then when she did there was not too many shrimp on there plate. I said to her, that’s all the shrimp I get? She’s like that’s just how they do it. I’m like excuse me? When I tasted the shrimp it was cold and hard as a rock. She brought out more shrimp and there were less shrimp on the plate then the first time. I was furious! She said would you like more and I’m like no thank you and she’s like are you sure and I’m like no. After that part was done I preserved ice cream and that was the only good thing about it. I wanted to leave them and there. Overall she brought me the check and it was expensive! As I was leaving I told another customer walking in, don’t expect this place to be open any longer. I hope this location and the rest anywhere close. I’m glad they went bankrupt and a lot of them are closing to be honest. Sorry Friendlys, no more business with you

Absolutely disgusted. Spend money to get take out and it’s slopped together with no care in the world. Burger undercooked. See the pictures of the loaded fries! I would not recommend coming to this establishment!

We used to love going to Friendly. However today we were eating and at another table a child sitting in a high chair had an accident and leaked through her diaper. There were feces on the high chair. The couple with the baby grabbed another high chair and moved to a different table. A waitress came over and just grabbed a tissue and wiped it off and whatever things were left on the table. She brought the high chair to the side and put it back with the rest without disinfecting it or giving it a proper cleaning. As a mother with a child still in a high chair this was very alarming. I definitely won’t be back after seeing this.

I brought my wife and kids here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, it was our first time there. No one was available to greet us.There was a seperate line for "fountain". We sat down as the sign said "wait to be seated". A few of the staff walked by within 10 minutes, a white couple came in and asked to be seated and were immediately seated by a individual who saw us there sitting first. He proceeded to sit them down, that's when I told my wife we're leaving... He immediately runs back to ask to seat us as I was walking out. Disgusting behavior! This place deserves 0 stars! We went next door to Wendy's instead!

Service is beyond slow. Take my kids here every so often because they like the food and ice cream, but I usually try to talk them out of it. Most recently we waited 25 minutes to order ice cream. The food ia decent, the ice cream is good. The service is just terrible.

So im here on a Sunday afternoon, place wasn't crowded. We sat, waiter took awhile to take the drink order, take along time for the drink to come. Second there was no utensils on the table we order an almost a 1 hour before the food arrive. Worst place to be on a Sunday they take there sweet little time
