Great coffee. Friendly staff. A very nice location tucked into a residential neighborhood. The overall atmosphere was a little too cold and distant for me. Would've loved to see some warmer decor elements like cushions or wall hangings. Overall a solid A

Got two iced jasmine green teas and they were fabulous. Service was fast environment was welcoming and chill. I also saw they use Numi tea sometimes which is pretty fancy. I like it.

I fell in love with the Recess Coffee in Westcott, and one day I happened to look for one closer to where I was — and I was so surprised to find this gem of a place. When I tell you the sandwiches here are on another level, I mean it — even compared to the other Recess locations or any coffee shop in the area. I’m originally from the city, and I can always appreciate the hell out of a good bagel sandwich — this spot makes it with love every single time. The customer service is incredible — super personable — and they even suggested I try my usual chai latte with cinnamon and added lavender. Oh my gosh… life-changing! I’m never going back to my old order. They’ve definitely got a customer for life. The atmosphere is beautiful, cozy, and so much more spacious than other coffee shops around. It’s the perfect spot to sit down, get some work done, or just enjoy the vibe. I absolutely love it here, and I’m sure anyone who stops in will too.

A few years ago we discovered this quiet coffee bar while visiting family in Syracuse. They serve very good tea and coffee, breakfast and lunch dishes, and offer local beers and wines. I got a lot of work done in their indoor dining area and they have outdoor seating. Highly recommended!

Didn’t have a chance for food, but the drink (20oz mocha oatmilk latte) was great! The 2 staff members working were personable and interactive. And the BATHROOMS WERE SO CLEAN! I usually don’t review my bathroom experiences, but it’s super refreshing to see a business so well taken care of! Shop local, better atmosphere, service, & product!

Lovely place to spend some time on the weekend! Personally, this is the best Recess Coffee I’ve been to in the Syracuse area. I had the Teddy Graham Latte, and I loved it. Highly recommend! Parking can be a bit tricky, though.

Recess Coffee is a perfect example of why small doesn't have to be small time. The place...and its staff is great. While visiting Syracuse on 9/12, my friend and I stopped in for a cup of coffee. I ordered the Pour Over and watched as the barista painstakingly prepared it. After she first let the coffee bloom, she slowly circled the ceramic dripper with hot water 2 to 3 times, pausing between each pour. The result was one of the most flavorful cups I've had in a while. The staff was cheerful, attentive and helpful in answering the couple of questions we had. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Recess Coffee and will definitely go back whenever I'm in Syracuse. I'll take this place anytime over the more widely recognized coffee shop with places all over the world.

What a dope coffee shop. Employees were delightful, the vibe of the shop is nice, and my sandwich was bangin'. My PSL was fantastic too, Starbucks couldn't hold a candle to it.
