We visited this wonderful restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. The place was fully booked, but they still found us a table. We ate outside, overlooking a snow-covered meadow; it was a wonderful experience. The food definitely exceeded our expectations. The sciatt, pizzoccheri, and potatoes were truly perfect, worthy of mention! The meats were also delicious! Both my friend's tagliata and my boyfriend's sandwich were cooked to perfection. The menu isn't terribly extensive, but the dishes on the menu are absolutely excellent and meticulously prepared. The dishes are generous and beautiful. Our only complaint is that the wines didn't live up to the food (perhaps simply too young). Ordering bottles and not glasses can certainly fix this! Otherwise, it was a 5-star experience; we'll definitely be back.

Must-try Highlander is a typical Valtellina restaurant offering top-quality dishes in a stunning location, nestled in the Valtellina mountains just steps from the Ponte nel Cielo (Ponte in Cielo). The long, winding road is worth the entire meal, from the wine to the dessert, the polenta, and the tagliata (sliced ​​steaks). The meat from their Scottish Highland cattle offers new sensations to the palate. We came from Lecco for a birthday, and even though we were five young people, we found a great and welcoming atmosphere to celebrate. The young, friendly staff made everything even more enjoyable. I absolutely recommend going there for a lunch out of town. Excellent!

We ate at this beautiful place for the first time on my birthday. What can I say? It's truly a beautiful, well-kept, clean, and quaint place. The woman who served us was incredibly kind and available to answer any questions and offer advice on the food. We ordered several items to try as many dishes as possible...the inevitable pizzoccheri, fabulous risotto with bresaola and bitto, a stunning cold cuts and cheese platter, sciatt (my favorite dish) among the best I've ever eaten, and then the polenta taragna, to die for, all washed down with the truly delicious house wine. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough dessert because the portions are so generous. I highly recommend it to anyone who, like me, loves Valtellina and its traditional dishes. I'll definitely be back soon. I'm curious to try the other dishes, which looked really inviting. So, see you soon, and thanks again for everything.

My wife and I stayed here on July 23rd, having discovered it by chance after visiting the Tibetan bridge. A welcoming, quiet location, surrounded by nature, delicious traditional pizzoccheri, delicate and perfectly cooked risotto with Bitto cheese and bresaola, fabulous sciatt that were absolutely not greasy or dry, fabulous... practically no wait times. A special mention goes not only to the chef, but also to Carolina: friendly, welcoming, discreet, and professional. I'm not exaggerating when I say that all this contributed to a wonderful day and made the memories of Val Tartano truly pleasant. Best regards, Stefano and Mari

We stopped for lunch today after visiting the bridge, and I have to say it was an excellent choice. The staff was top-notch, kind and witty, just what I usually look for. The food and wine were truly excellent. I had a burger, every bite was delicious, and I tried the tagliata, which was exquisite, as were the polenta bites and the house cake.

Very nice place to visit with a spectacular Rope Bridge nearby which makes for a beautiful setting. The food was absolutely delicious. I would say that the Burgers were some of the best ones ive Had in my life. All the food i tried was absolutely great and the other ones looked and smelled insanely nice. The staff Is very nice and speaks very good english so even If you dont speak italian theyll understand you. Also they make very good Cappuccino. 5 Stars are very much deserved.

Highlander è un bar ristorante aperto da pochi anni che serve del buon cibo tipico valtellinese e piatti con carne di highlander a km 0 (bovino scozzese). Il locale è molto pulito, il personale è cordiale e disponibile, l'unica pecca (ma è soggettivo) è il prezzo di alcuni piatti; per esempio la polenta taragna con highlander è davvero buonissima e la consiglio vivamente, ma trovo che 15 euro siano eccessivi pur essendo un piatto di grande qualità. Consiglio vivamente il locale. Da provare almeno una volta se si è di passaggio.

Highlander Ristoro è un locale accogliente e informale, ideale per gustare piatti tipici con ingredienti freschi e di qualità. Atmosfera rilassata e personale cordiale rendono l’esperienza piacevole. Buon rapporto qualità-prezzo.

Particular and characteristic location, good service and despite the crowded place the wait wasn't long... the burgers were very good, the polenta taragna stew was also very good, different from what I was used to and didn't meet my expectations... Too bad the cheese wasn't mixed well in the polenta... Improvable.... If I were to return to the area I would go back there.
