Finding a good espresso on the road can be hard work, but the search was well rewarded at Mountain Coffee House! Made a lovely flat white and nice warm baked blueberry muffin to complete the pairing. Really nice outdoor space and staff the friendliest you could ask for - even spotted my wallet that had fallen out of my pocket! Whoops 🤦
Stopped by for a latte and really enjoyed it. The coffee was well made, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff were genuinely friendly. It is a great place to take a break, sit down, and chat with friends. The view outside adds to the experience, making it an easy spot to slow down and recharge during the day.
Super cute cafe. Our favorite coffee stop when driving through Tehachapi. Lot's of coffee and non-coffe drink options as well as pastries and savory bites. Cozy seating area.
So glad I found this local coffee shop. They have a good menu and I'm liking their avocado toast on sourdough with an iced dirty chai. Also just discovered their muffins. So good! It's a small comfortable place, and they have seating indoors, on the patio, and out front. Sign up for their rewards program for discounts and order online for a quicker pick-up.
Cool little local coffee shop. Looks like they are appealing to the college crowd and young professionals. Coffee is delicious and the food was well-executed. If I were local, I’d be here at least a few times a week. They also have some outdoors seating. Did I mention that the coffee was good? The cortado was made well and their drip coffee blends were also flavorful. Seems they care about the quality of their products and their work. We also had the lavender matcha latte which was among the best we’ve had - good matcha and lavender flavor; not overly sweet!!
Omgoodness the best service & iced coffee ! Love the cozy atmosphere! Bought this adorable coffee cup designed by a local artist ! Highly recommend!!!
Definitely a peaceful ambiance from the moment you step through the threshold and into the entryway, the vibes are warm and mellow. The place is small, but you can tell the owners put thought into the space and really wanted folks to feel cozy and comfortable when they walked in......The smell of fresh espresso is there and the baristas were attentive and helpful in explaining the options. Great seating, wish it wasn't winter so I could have seen the patio. Great furniture and fixtures, even a game shelf full for patrons to enjoy....the fireplace is a nice touch for sure. Sadly we didn't get any food, but the reviews were solid and after having the coffee I bet the cuisine is tasty.....maybe next time. I ended up telling the barista to surprise me, I love letting them express themselves in their current position, and my latte was fantastic. Will definitely come back here again next time we pass through town just to visit this quaint shop and play a board game with the fam.
On our road trip out to Vegas, we made it a mission (as always) to find a local coffee shop — and wow, this place did not disappoint! It had great reviews, a cute name, and honestly, I trust any coffee shop that puts this much love into their seasonal menu. One thing we noticed right away: they are definitely lavender lovers here! Tons of their specials featured lavender, which is perfect for me because I'm low-key obsessed with anything lavender-flavored. We ordered the Bee Happy and Easter Bunny lattes, and both were absolutely delicious — smooth, perfectly balanced, and just the right amount of sweetness. You could tell they actually cared about the quality of what they were serving, not just rushing out drinks. The Bee Happy had this amazing hint of honey and floral notes without being overpowering, and the Easter Bunny latte was this cozy, chocolatey, springtime hug in a cup. The vibe inside was super cozy and welcoming — think artsy, warm, and a little bit eclectic, but not in a try-hard way. The staff was genuinely friendly and happy to chat about the different drinks and make recommendations. You can tell when people love where they work, and it definitely showed. We loved it so much we made it a non-negotiable stop on the way back from Vegas too. Honestly, if I lived closer, I'd probably be one of those people who "accidentally" ends up there every day. If you’re passing through, make the stop — it’s 100% worth it!
Nice local coffee shop in town. Well made and “crafted” drinks.. cozy indoor atmosphere, and a few outdoor tables (in shade). Also nice to be just enough off the main avenue to be (mostly) quiet. ❤️ finding local coffee shop spots like this..! 🤙👍
I stopped by here during my first visit to Tehachapi, and always try to come by when I'm in town. It's a great little cafe with good atmosphere, and a tasty menu. Local artists and crafters often times have their items in the cafe available for sale, and the staff are very welcoming. *UPDATED 18 May* Stopped by today for a breakfast bagel and blended mocha. I was helped by Kaitlyn, who was super helpful. The place was pretty busy, but I had my beverage in hand in about five minutes and my food another five after that. Thoroughly pleased.
Really impressive place, amazing coffee and vibes, has workstations books and games, highly recommended and worth stopping in town for!
Super cute little place tucked away in town. Great variety of drinks and fun latte specials! Got the mushroom coffee latte and was not disappointed.

One of the best dooooo espresso shots I’ve ever had. Top 5 in all the country. Food was amazing. Whoever rates this lower than 5 stars should be banned.

I ordered a pesto BLT that was absolutely incredible. I got it to go ordered and picked up and stuff in my face pretty quickly. It was excellent. I did the sourdough with it and unfortunately, I did not get a photo but the place was cute. There were some outdoor seating and the sandwich was excellent.

Cute little coffee shop with the best coffee in town! Cheap prices too! $6 for a 16oz coffee! Also the food was good. I'd say the BLT pesto had a bit too much bacon, and it was a heavy bacon so if that could br lighter it'd help. But asides from that, the breakfast bagel was solid too. Lots of eggs & decent amount of cheese on it!! Come here! So much more food to try, & soups!
This place was okay. Came to grab an iced coffee. Staff was okay, not super friendly. Coffee was fine, nothing super special.

Nice people working there, and very cozy atmosphere. They allow dogs in (if calm) and out in the patio! Sandwiches are surprisingly really good, but drinks are a little too sweet. Not the place to get amazing drip coffee or a flat white, but a great place to get a refresher.
Cozy atmosphere is great. A bit pricey. The Macha Latte I received wasn’t very hot and got cold quickly which is disappointing. They should make sure every drink is “hot” and not warm.

Around this time last year, we met one of the owners (or the owner’s husband) of this coffee shop at another spot in Tehachapi. He was super nice and welcoming, especially since we were new to the area, and told us to check this place out. Since then, I’ve come by a few times and always had great experiences, friendly employees, amazing food, and good vibes all around. It’s even become my go to spot to bring friends and family when they visit. Unfortunately, today’s visit was really disappointing and honestly kind of embarrassing. When we walked in, we took a minute to look at the menu and decided to try something from the fall specials. As we went up to order, the employee at the register (Leah) rolled her eyes at us. My friend asked a few questions about drinks and milk alternatives, and the employee’s attitude was so off-putting that my friend decided to skip the drink altogether and just order food. Watching the interaction was uncomfortable. Leah came across as annoyed and aggressive, like she didn’t want to be there. When it was my turn to order, I tried to keep it quick, but after everything I said she’d respond with, “What else, guys?” in a really dismissive tone, like we were bothering her or taking too long. The food itself actually tasted really good, just like it always does, but it was hard to enjoy it after the experience we had ordering. We ended up spending around $60, and to top it off, there was a hair wrapped around the grapes that came with our food and my friend’s sandwich wasn’t what the menu described. I’ve never seen this employee before, so maybe she was having a bad day, but it completely changed the experience for us. I normally don’t leave reviews, but this one really needed to be addressed because it was so different from the great service I’ve had here in the past.

Extremely long wait just to place my order for 2 drinks then waited 10 minutes to get the second drink. Very rude red head behind the counter making the drinks. When I placed my order, the gentleman who took my order OFFERED to bring my drink to me outside. After 10 minutes, I walked back inside to find my drink sitting on the counter. I said is this a chai drink? Rude red head replied we don’t deliver drinks to customers sitting outside. I replied to her - I didn’t ask - your employee offered. That attitude has me going to another coffee shop 😊
Lately the staff here has been very unwelcoming. I come here often and although some of the staff is nice quite a few are very unwelcoming. Not only that but the drinks are not made as good as they use to be and you can order the same drink every time and it will never taste the same.
Okay so I have been coming here for over 5 years and this is the worst experience I've ever had! personally I think the owner is the problem because there have been times when I've come in before and anytime you get something with bacon it's super salty and I would tell the employees hey I don't know why but my foods like super salty and they told me it's the bacon they've told the owner and nothing has changed 😡😯 and I used to work here so I know the owner personally and I believe that.🤦 What happened this time was I came in and they were very busy inside and a short line when I ordered, personally I think that the employee lady in the front should have said in advance to people that it would be a 30-minute wait or longer but I ordered and after about 15 minutes I came in cuz I was sitting outside and I asked "hey I was just wondering how much longer on my food and drink" and she said 20 to 30 minutes without asking the name on the order or what my order was, there was a drink sitting there with a ticket that had its name covered and because of how busy it was I didn't want to take a drink that wasn't mine but I later found out it was mine and I didn't get it untill after 30 minutes of it already being made so it was pretty watered down and my sandwich was sitting back there on the back counter The whole time with no ticket with it so there was no way of knowing it was mine and that was when she told me how long it was going to be so I came in after she had told me 20 minutes (after already waiting 15) and I said is that sandwich mine and she said "I don't know what did you order" and I told her and she said "yes this is yours we've called it out multiple times so it's pretty cold" and instead of offering to warm it back up or remake it because it was not my fault that I didn't know it was there, she told me a long wait even though it already been there and it was so busy inside that there was no sitting or standing room left so most people were outside. So I took my cold hard sandwich outside then 5 minutes later I went in and said "that's my drink too isn't it" and I guess she didn't hear me or she ignored me so I checked the tag and I found out it was mine and I took it and it was very watered down so instead of the employee actually checking what I ordered the first time I asked and they were both done she just told me how long of a wait it would be despite my food already being there!!🤬 The only reason I even got my cold food and watered down drink was because I saw other people who ordered after me had already gotten their food and drink!! the employee was also fairly rude to me every time I asked anything and I tried to be as respectful and as understanding as possible knowing they were busy and if she told me 20 minutes then I would wait 20 minutes. I also went in to get a cup of water for a dog that was outside and she said in a very sarcastic tone "I'll get right on it, it's my first priority" Then proceeded to make three drinks in front of me when I realized after the fact that they had a water station and she could have just told me to go over there instead of being rude and sarcastic and it was greatly unappreciated. Unfortunately I will not be coming back, I like the food and I like the drinks but that was a terrible experience. I even talked with the owner who was not apologetic at all or said anything about how it could have been done better. I assume others experienced the same thing during that rush time I know I was not the only one that was treated rudely I understand being busy and having no control over it as an employee I was put through this when I worked here too but that does not make it okay to be rude and snappy and not communicate with the customers. If I could give this place zero stars I would 🤬😡!! This is the worst review I have ever given a place and I don't usually give negative reviews so that's saying something for me. The owner never should have put her employees in a situation where they would be that understaffed and cause them that much stress.
I don’t want to say the staff is rude just not welcoming. They act as if you are bothering or inconveniencing them. I have been about 5 times over the years and it’s always the same story. No one owes anyone kindness but is was just an atmosphere I didn’t vibe with. The people who go there remind me of LA vibe, wasn’t my scene so I always sit in the back patio. The tea wasn’t anything special and it was warm not hot.
