Wonderful food and service! It's a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We will be back next time we're in town. :)
Never a bad meal and Lydia T is one awesome server!
Love Jack's! Had a great lunch there today, our server was amazing, food and drinks too. Can't wait for the Paso location to open!
Local charm with great staff and food choices.
Great late lunch. Chandly was an absolute sweetheart and so efficient. Trevor is groovy always. My mom loves him. The mushroom tacos and Ahi tostadas were wonderful.
Jack’s has great food and a great bar. The servers are friendly and fast. The atmosphere is for the young and old. There’s a live band from time to time. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They are also being safe during Covid 19
My wife and I have tried several of the menu items now, and the generous portions, the excellent quality, and the reasonable prices, are truly impressive. There are many fine restaurants in the North County, and this restaurant is quickly becoming our favorite go-to place to eat in this area.
Awesome spot to stop for lunch while on the road- or anytime I would think. The food was awesome- staff amazing. Would be a cool spot to sit back and have a few beers too- I couldn’t as I was driving south to north.
Great food, wonderful staff. Everything I've tried has been fantastic!! I enjoy their outdoor seating as well. The prime rib sandwich is awesome. They give you plenty of food, you won't go away hungry. I usually have to take some home.
The tacos were awesome ... the tri-tip and grilled chicken were smoky and tender with pickled onions and sliced red chili's offered as much or little heat as you want. Service was efficient and friendly. Warm atmosphere.
Trish was amazing!! We were in a hurry and she anticipated every one of our needs. The French dip was fantastic, the home made ranch dressing was tops, and the iced tea was perfect. We'll be back!!! ❤️❤️
Been a few times now and each time the food has been phenomenal along with the service. I don't use that word lightly but it's definitely at the top of our list amoung places to eat now. I'm picky with my quality of meat (especially bbq).. and food in general, but i give this place 5 stars. Amazing appetizers. Every sauce I've tried is great. Each sandwich. Every drink. And the desserts.... ohhh myyy lawd. Most places around here ur lucky to get ONE decent dessert, this place has multiple! Always busy but never have to really wait. Can't say enough.
Jack's is absolutely phenomenal. I go here regularly and I'm never disappointed. Obviously because of covid we have to eat outside But they have tons of outdoor heaters and plenty of seating. Staff is great and very attentive. Literally everything on their menu is amazing. I also love the cocktails they have here. You really can't go wrong with this place
We ordered the Tri-Tip dinner for our Valentines Day dinner and took it home. It was a ton of delicious food for a reasonable price.
Had dinner here last night with a group. Let me tell you everything was ordered was so delicious!! Not only was the food really good but the service was excellent as well. I wish I remembered our servers names so I can give him kudos. We will be coming back here very soon!!
Wow! Wife and I needed a mellow anniversary lunch. We are really happy with our choice! Guys, maybe we got lucky but that was some seriously great food. We had Alphie fries (OMG), THE Tri-Tip Salad, and the Rib Eye Burger. The fries have the perfect amount of heat and were absolutely delicious topped with pulled pork and Chipotle aioli. The burger and salad were next level. Probably the best burger I have ever had. Potions are large, expect to take some home. We highly recommend Jacks.
Service was exceptional and I had substituted some of my food items and they got it exactly right. Very comfortable. Manager was very friendly and cared that we were comfortable. Thank you we'll be back.
We hit up Jacks tonight and what an awesome evening! Friendly locals, excellent service and the ahi tuna tostadas are to die for…highly recommend a place with this much going on while keeping the feel down to earth. Customers shared their barstools, food choices and roads to enjoy riding on. Love love love. Thank you for opening your doors to us as if we were part of your family! Kindness
We have eaten there several times. The service has always been excellent and the staff is attentive. The food is outstanding. The bloody mary’s are to die for. You can get then spicy or mild. Will continue to go to Jacks.
The salmon salad was the best salad I've EVER had! The salmon was huge and delicious, plus all the toppings added so much flavor! Avocado, almonds, corn salsa, edemame, and fresh cut tomatoes!! AND the vinegrette wasabe dressing added a unique bite!! AAAAAhhhh, heaven!
We went Jack's and tried the Take-Out and were very pleased with the quantity & quality of food. By the time we got home 6 miles away it was steaming hot. Highly recommend eating here, you won't be sorry.
We arrived at location with 7 people in our party. Didn't wait long at all to be seated. Our orders were taken promptly and arrived according. Food was delicious and price is reasonable.
Well.... Hadn't been there before BUT I will definitely be eating there again. If you're on 101 pull off the freeway its worth the stop. I had the Tri-tip and it was so great tender.
Yum‼️The best burgers in No County 🚩 And they have gluten free buns and great sweet potato fries! Not a cheap burger - but worth it because it’s NOT greasy. My husband loves the bbq burger 🍔 w reg fries. We order and pick up.
Great selection of meaty dishes plus a few others. A little pricy, but very good. Fast service. Pleasant server.
I stopped at this place to grab some dinner while traveling. The food was incredible! The young man who served me was polite and attentive. The service was great, and the atmosphere was like being at a family members house who was cooking dinner. If I'm back in the area I will definitely be stopping here again.
So, my baby girl and I drove 2 hours for a 5 mile hike, and about 30 minutes away from home she told me she was hungry. Knowing Jacks was close, I decided we would stop there. We walked in around 8:25 and were sat immediately. Our server came up and advised me the kitchen was going to close in 5 minutes so if we were going to eat, we would need to put in our orders. We ordered food and some soda. Although we were the last table in the building (shame on me for not checking their hours before we went), we weren’t rushed past advising of the upcoming kitchen closure. The food was fantastic, my daughter said the meatloaf was the best she had ever started, and the ribeye burger was phenomenal. We never had to ask for refills as our server was very attentive although he was finishing up his closing side-work. Thank you, sir for serving us with such little time left, and thank you Jacks for some pretty awesome food!
This place is awesome. Food is delicious, atmosphere is lively, and the service was fantastic. Not only is it close enough to the 805 brewery that the beer is super fresh, but they even have a seasonal cider to try! I got the BBQ burger (if there's anything I want between my buns, it's ground chuck) with dirty fries and it was phenomenal. My wife got the philly cheesesteak with garlic fries, and the alphie fries are amazing. Honestly, if you're not sure what to get here, go with anything that has their in house barbecue sauce. We had such a great experience that we got dessert. We don't usually go for desserts, especially at lunch, but I'm glad we did. The brownie sundae is a must have if you're a fan of brownies and ice cream (better than a pazookie!). I'm coming back again when I have the time and money, because this place is worth both! Five stars all around, and big thanks to our server Beth for being both present and attentive at the perfect time, every time. Edit: Thanks for the reply! Any body seeing this review should read their response, it says a lot about how great it was to visit. I can't wait to come back! (I'll take pictures next time, if I can stop myself from eating for long enough)
Went to Jacks to have a bite and a drink at the bar.... I had the soft pretzel appetizer with pepper jack cheese dip.... They were very good, and the dip was very tasty and fresh..... The pretzels were soft and tasty.... Very good....
Love it here. Love the large menu and variety of food!! Great drinks!! Great service! Have been back several times and will keep going back.
This place is fire! The food is delicious!!!!! Check out the nachos and the burgers. Great vegetarian options. You can get the beyond patty on any of the burgers you want and make it vegetarian without bacon. I got the bbq burger.
Family took me there, on visit. Great food, yummy desserts. Had, Prime rib slice, with grilled onions, cheese on top. Excellent!! Onion rings were super!! Apple crisp dessert WAS THE BEST I EVER HAD. Served, hot in a small skillet. Great place.
Here for lunch to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had a great time. The staff was excellent as was the food. I had the fish and chips. Sometimes I get the tacos. It doesn't really matter, everything I've had there has been great.
We had a very pleasant meal on the covered patio staying cool on a hot day. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The waiter recommended the prime rib sandwich with added jalapenos and it was fantastic. My taco salad with tri-tip was the best I've had anywhere and couldn't finish it, it was so much food I'll have it for dinner too. Glad we took the chance on a new spot!
Super fun place for a lunch get together. Dog friendly. Delicious cajón shrimp tacos. Easy location, plenty of parking. Fast, friendly service :-)
We had a great time, good food. The waitress, she was awesome. I would recommend it if in paso stop by. I had the short ribs Excellent
First time visit today for lunch-- we were impressed with the friendly and efficient wait staff-- this place seems to be managed very well and appears to be very popular with the locals. Shared a tri-tip sandwich with coleslaw; tri-tip sandwich was so much better than 2 other well known tri-tip sandwich places in the area. We'll return!
SWEET LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY!!! Jack’s is hands down amazing!!! The atmosphere, the staff, the FOOOOOOOD!!! OMG!!! The FOOD!!! I don’t eat to live, but live to eat and have traveled all over from the Middle East, Scandinavia, lived in Europe for several years, as well as all over America, this place ranks among one of the best meals we have eaten. If you come, GET the Ribeye Burger if you’re craving a burger. Heck, get anything on the menu and you will NOT be disappointed! Well to Top Top TOP shelf alcohol options, draft on tap including Tin City, CaliSqueeze, Modelo and 805 among others. Come for the food and rustic ambiance and you WILL NOT regret the visit!!!
Great experience. Friendly staff. Quick service. We just ordered drinks and appetizers. We ordered and had everything within 10mins. They even allow you to have your dogs on the patio. 10/10 would recommend. Their pretzels and cheese was Delicious! Just wish it came with more cheese 😉
Fish and chips were very good... My husband got the French dip, our friend got the Reuben sandwich....
We’ve dined at Jack’s several times. Tonight we sat at the bar and I tried the peanut butter old fashion (no actual peanut butter, just a combination of alcohols and bitters that gives a great finish to an already awesome old fashion) - yes, I had a second!. We enjoyed chatting with the bartender while eating our meal. The food and service is always outstanding at Jack’s. It is a goto restaurant when you want a great meal.
First time and will definitely go back. Had the pulled pork with fries and the lavender martini. Both were great! Then the raspberry cheesecake topped the meal off!! Sooooo good
Enjoyed a delicious lunch with my friends in Templeton. We were seated on the patio under a heater. Each of us ordered a different menu item and everyone lived their selection. The server was attentive and outstanding.
If you're within 50 miles don't miss Jack's! This place is amazing. The staff were super friendly and really made us feel welcome. Kandice was an incredible server. After a couple weeks I still can't believe how great it was. The food was delicious. The nachos were delivered in a coffee can! They're a must! The cheese sauce is super creamy. If you're not into nachos, try it on the "filthy frys"! Many thanks for an awesome experience.
After visiting Santa Margarita. Stopped by Templeton for a quick lunch. The appetizer pretzel cheese sauce was delicious. I had the BBQ burger was decent. My good friend she had Philly cheesesteak sandwich and she enjoyed it.
Right place at the right time. It was my husband's birthday. He wanted to go Nardines, but they are out of business. In the second choice, he wanted Griffs, so we went. Griffs is jut down the road from Jack's. We entered at 6:30 pm. A girl who looked like she just woke up told us they could make food, but it was take out only. Of course, for my husband's birthday, that was not sufficient, especially in the one restaurant he requested. So we drove 2 blocks and were greeted with smiles and open arms. The food was amazing, and the service was even better. We are grateful that we were treated so poorly at Griffs. Now we have a new go-to spot. We gladly spent $180+$36 tip for a restaurant where we felt welcomed and appreciated. Thank you, Jack's! We already frequent many of your establishments, so it's no surprise that you save the evening. Thank you! We will be back!
Great Menu Selection! Portions are very large. We shared the Chicken BLT sandwhich with garlic fries and had plenty of food - very good!! Cocktail prices were a little high for size - cocktails were okay, not bad - just okay and nothing special.
Never disappointed. My salad was delicious. Service was beyond excellent. We always eat here when in town.
Great and fast service very warm and comfortable atmosphere, sounds like a beer and a shot kind of place and it is plus it's so much more, you can sit at the bar where they have a very large selection of drinks or craft cocktails or at a table and order from a huge menu, we ordered pulled pork and French dip sandwiche garlic frys so delicious ,

Great customer service. Butter basted Ribeye was great. Definitely worth eating in. Drinks are on point.
Excellent service! The bartender was great and the BBQ chicken was AMAZING. Reasonable price too!
Nice service, great Peanut Butter Old Fashioned is a must try! We did not eat there just stopped in for a drink. Next visit will try the food.
I love going here! The staff is super friendly and service has always been amazing! They have a good espresso martini!
We drove in from out of town and picked up dinner here. A lot of places downtown were closed for the holidays but this is one of the ones that was open. Great place. The French dip was delicious.
BRO!!! We found this place on a total lark. We were actually planning to eat across the street (super cute spot with a fire pit), but the menu just wasn’t calling to us. So, we wandered over to Jack’s—and thank goodness we did. I ordered the ribeye steak burger with a fried egg and roasted jalapeño on top, and I swear I was high on food. I’ve never had that experience before in my life—absolutely insane flavor. If you go, you HAVE to try it. The kids devoured the chicken strips, we also tried the shrimp pasta, tri-tip salad, and a few other dishes—and every single one was way beyond our expectations. This place is a hidden gem in Templeton. Cozy vibe, knockout food. 10/10 recommend.

Wanted a properly cooked ribeye, got a perfectly cooked one, veggies were al dente, waitress was nice, polite, and attentive. 100 percent will be going back.
Tri tip was good, but the BBQ sauce was the business. The waiter was very attentive. The honey habenero wings were delish. Rasberry lemon drop was Nice. Will come back.
Always amazing food! Great service. **Service when dining IN is usually great. However, don't ever use doordash, GrubHub or any delivery service with this restaurant. This is the third time now my order has been cancelled by their establishment and they wait to notify me OVER 30 minutes AFTER it has been placed. There is ALWAYS an excuse of "our system is down" "something in the kitchen is broken" "missing ingredients". It's unbelievably unprofessional. Doordash called me to apologize, however it should be the restaurant apologizing and they should be removed as an option off doordash and Grubhub. I submitted my request for this to be done while speaking to doordash customer service this evening. If this has happened to me 3 times now I'm sure it has happened to others**
Wow, an unimpressive little "bistro" at 1st glance. But we soon found the indoor & outdoor patio dining was comfortable & friendly with a casual vibe. Even better, the food was remarkably good, tasty & well designed and the prices were quite reasonable. We'll be stopping by regularly.
Good selection of food. Would have liked a crisper salad with the nicely prepared salmon. Perhaps a tastier zingy dressing
The hostess was not friendly at all! We sat for 15 minutes before anyone came to take our drink orders. But when she did she was awesome and ended up taking our table because our server was MIA. I wish I had gotten her name because she was so sweet! We love Jacks and go almost every Week!
A cool little spot with super friendly staff! Not a lot of BBQ options on the menu for a place with BBQ in the name and a little pricey for lunch. I got the only pulled pork option which was a sandwich. The meat came mixed with sweet BBQ sauce and was mushy. Not my style but not the worst thing ever. The pickled onions and slaw were on point!
This is our third visit to Jack's Bar and Grill, and it's been fantastic every time. It's our go-to spot when we're in the area and want delicious food. The salads are excellent (the salmon is cooked perfectly) and they offer a great selection of beers. One suggestion for the owners: the BBQ chicken is only available for dinner. It's a bit disappointing because we often come for lunch and would love to try it then. We'll definitely be back!
Although I come to Templeton at least once a month this is my first time to visit this restaurant. Now I kick my self in the butt for not coming here sooner. First thing through the door we were greeted by a ultra friendly waitress who expeditiously got a table for us and had us seated. Short time later another friendly waitress came and took our drink order. I couldn’t resist trying in the dirty margarita. It has everything in it including pickle juice olives in an assorted array of condiments. It was awesome. My food order came in a timely manner. The fish and chips and french fries pile a mile high. Barbecue chicken was super tender and Bathed tasty barbecue sauce. The green beans are cooked to perfection in butter and garlic in the mashed potatoes were to die for. All in all I’d say a very excellent experience and will be back.
We sat on the patio, but seemed forgotten. It took a long time to get a water, food and check, but servers were friendly and like a lot of restaurants may have been under staffed as it was busy. The fish and chips was lightly breaded and very tasty. The Philly had a bit of tangy kick to the flavor and the bread became soggy quickly. Other items may have been a better choice.
Ended up choosing the Cajun pasta which had a nice amount of spice. Some guy next to me ordered it with bacon which I thought was a good alternative. Decent bar selection with a very good bartender. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name but she's a feisty one. Lol. Only had 3 meat items for the BBQ. Kind of thought they would have more to choose from but hopefully it's done well. Good spot overall in a good easy to get to location

The atmosphere was relaxing and the service was good. The menu looked versatile and appetizing. My husband ordered the tri-tip sandwich with french fries and I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with coleslaw. The portions were generous. Regretfully, we enjoyed our sides more than our sandwiches. The smoke in the meat overpowered all other flavors and we dipped either into bbq or ranch to eat them. Also, found the pricing a bit high.
Average food, terrible service, classic rock with a lot of Poison. The perfect place for dinner with your tatted wife and ill-behaved kids after dragging your poser ski boat back from Nacimiento with your gas-guzzling Suburban. I won’t be back.
Food was amazing. A little pricey but delicious. That being said the bill had service charge included (20%) added to total and operations fee .86 cents for using debit card. Below the total due was “suggested Tip” with amounts for 18, 20 &22% dollar amounts. My husband bless his soul did not realize tip included and gave the excellent waitress a $6. tip. This made the total $38. For lunch this is ridiculous. Buyer beware check you bill for added tip.
First went over a year ago excellent food, but pricey. Several more times still good. Went to new location and food not as good and wanted to charge I think 6 bucks for a extra plate. Went back about a month later same thing. So decided to go back to the Templeton store and same thing burger patty was not great and smaller portions along with higher prices. Burger Patty seemed pressed and was dry and chewy. So I guess we are done with Jack's. After three visits of marginal food no going back for a while.
As others mentioned, it's expensive for the average quality of food and service, and yes they have odd add-on charges for using credit cards and "splitting" (supposedly you get more food on a split, but we actually had someone order the same thing for themselves and we def'ly didn't see an increase in quantity for two small bowls of chicken salad). For my husband and me, fries & tri-tip sandie were okay, BBQ sauce alright, Chinese chick salad alright but chicken kinda weird texture, maybe over marinated? The other 3 ppl eating dinner w/us also thought it was just OK value for the price. Standout seemed to be the tortilla soup..
Big mistake to sit outside on patio. It was evening about 5:30. Tons of FLIES. It is so bad they even have these little towers that have a fan on them to try to keep them from your food. The food was excellent. We had 4 people. Two got tri-tip sandwiches , shrimp tacos, and a pulled pork sandwich. All tasted delicious. But the FLIES took away any enjoyment. The staff come in and out of doors that lead inside so I'm pretty sure the flies are in there also. They seriously need to do more to get rid of them . They blame it on the Grainery going down but that's not true. I know this because I've been here before when the Grainery was still up and they still had a fly problem but now it does seem worse.
It took a while for host person to meet us at the front. The waitress was super nice and helpful. The food looked amazing, but tastes ok. Maybe even bland. I had the fish tacos. They looked great but were not very interesting to my taste buds. I'm not sure about anyone else in my party, but I didn't hear anyone say anything about the food tasting great. It wasn't bad but it wasn't worth the price. $18 for 3 small fish tacos. $22 for a burger. $15 for two small oily bread sticks "pretzel sticks" with a boring cheese sauce. I don't recommend them at all.

Food has always been delicious here. We frequent this place on regular basis. Last time we went, server was ok, but did not ask how we like our burger cooked, did not tell us there was a charge to split my hamburger and ahi tuna salad. My husband and I each ordered an entree and told our server we were going to split it. She said, ok. The food came and it was all delicious but burger was well done. I like mine medium but did not say anything to our server. I figured she was new and it was tasty so I just ate it. The bill came and there was a split charge of $11.00 for splitting the ahi salad and the burger. I asked the server why was there charges for splitting food? She told me that is the way it is. We have been there before and server split our food and we never were charged extra for it. I said, this must be a new rule and she said no it was not. I just wished she would have told us and I could have cut my own hamburger. Also, they do need to do something about the flies in the patio area. That did make it quite unpleasant to eat swatting flies.

This place is newly renovated but the service is lacking friendliness. A table that showed up after us was served before us and the food came out cold. They added 20% tip automatically and I would never have given that much for the mothers day service we got.
Update: I almost never update reviews but had to do it. So sad to report that shrinkflation has hit this restaurant hard. Teeny portions and very underwhelming flavors. Husband ordered the steak tacos and they were tiny with a lot of fatty gristly peices of tritip. I ordered the poke bowl and got a rice bowl with a few tiny pieces of WARM tuna. Not sushi grade and certainly not a poke bowl. Additionally when I got down to the rice there was BURGER GREASE all over the rice. As if it had been warmed up on their flat top or someone use a dirty spoon to portion the rice? Bizarre and tasted not great. We loved this spot and are so disappointed to see the quality fall so much. Next time we will definitely save our $$ for elsewhere....
Ordered tortillas soup and it was cold send back also bbq burgers wasn’t med rare They also changed 3% for C/C charges Was not so happy
Food containers were shoved into a small bag. When I took the salad that was on top of my sandwich container out the box exploded (wasn’t closed) so I had all over the bag and my counter - lost half the salad. Sandwich was cold. I have had better service there
I ordered the fish & chips and a cup of chili. None of it was good. The fish was very dry and tasteless. The chili had an odd taste. Maybe adding onions or meat would of helped. Don’t think i’ll go back.
They charge a Operations Fee which is absolutely ridiculous. It is added on to your bill.
Ordered to go, didn't get the dip for my French dip sandwich. Fries and pretzels were both soggy and cold. My order wasnt ready when got there, ended up about ten extra minutes but the food looked and felt like it had been sitting around for quite awhile. Didn't realize the dip was missing until I was already back at home and I'm not driving back to get it. Frankly I shouldn't have to. Food was decent in flavor, but for the price point and lacking the dip it was kind of a letdown
My husband ordered the tri tip dinner, it was barely warm, over cooked, tough and dry, the “garlic” bread was smothered in cheese, just not good. Did not eat it, did not need a doggy bag. The Rueben my sister ordered was pretty good. I don’t even remember what I ordered, just that I only ate a few bites. Not a good experience. In the past, I have had nice lunch at Jack’s, salads are pretty good, hoping this was just an off night.

Worst service ever and the place wasn't even busy. We only ordered appetizers and drinks, took forever to get our drinks and another 10 minutes before waitress took our order. When the food arrived it was cold and greasy. Never came back to see if we needed anything and fi ally had to go ask for our own check. Don't know what happened to the owners who called it Ninos, but wish they were still there.
We had a 45 minute wait, which we were okay with, but after we were seated we waited another 30 minutes to have our order taken and our food, which mine was dry over cooked fish and chips. The wait staff was lousy and we felt ignored. Worst service I experienced. Won't go back there again. Two hours to get food that was dry. So disappointed.
Go here if you want to waste 45 minutes sitting in a cold parking lot watching other people eat. Seven adults came here on a Monday night. We were told to wait at the tables outside until a table cleared. We sat there in the cold for 40 minutes. No one came and checked on us. Even when we stood at the counter the hostess ignored us. We left without ever seeing a server of any kind. No waters. No appetizers. If you have time to kill and feel like getting ignored and overlooked come here.
Waited 25 minutes for my draft beer. Only one waitress for the whole place. When food finally arrived cold. Ordered ice tea and it was warm.
Ordered a Classic Bacon Burger. No onion. Simple. The waitress brought a Classic Burger with no bacon with sopping wet buns caked in mayo. As soon as I picked it up it fell apart. Even she was surprised about the amount of mayo was on the burger. I sent it back. The second attempt was mediocre but included bacon and no mayo (recommend). My girlfriend’s tri-tip sandwich was flavorless, fatty, and both buns were soaked in blood making them soggy. Needless to say, I’m highly disappointed for being a local as this is not what I expected out from 1 of very few options in Templeton. Standards and practices should be high as the locals of the town deserve better. We will not be coming back if standards continue to be below par for the price.
Typically I would have let this situation go but it was really frustrating. My husband and I meet friends (another couple) for dinner. Upon walking in we noticed it wasn’t too busy and asked to be seated at an outside table that had five chairs, the hostess said that per her manager that was strictly for a group of five people only. We understood and took another table with only 4 chairs outside in a hot corner. We ordered drinks and told the waitress that we really preferred the bigger table under the fan. Again she stated per manager that it was strictly for a group of five. We said we understand and took a minute more to looked over the menu. About 5 min after that we notice a group of four people being seated at the table that was specifically for five people. We mentioned to the waitress she said she would mention it to the manager. But when she returned the manager didn’t do anything about it. And the 4 people ordered their meals and settled in. Of course we are upset and should have left at that point. Since we ordered we stayed, the waitress was nice, and the food was good, but we felt very unwelcome. We don’t know if this was a racist move, but it bothered us.
As a local we needed a new place to eat. However I cannot understand what folks see in this place. I have given them a second chance a half dozen times seeing that people fill the place up. I am not that picky either. I have dined in a few times but generally take out. The food overall is on par with say Denny's, but every time Ive been there the order is screwed up, every time! Ordered a simple burger and regular fries and got home to find some type of potato with a weird goopy sauce covering it. Last week a french dip with normal fries and my bad for not checking, but found after getting home a coldish sandwich, steak fries with some kind of funky cheese sauce and no Ajus dipping sauce. Went back down there where the host practically interrogated me, checked the bag, checked the computer then disappeared. Finally, another server showed up and went to get the Ajus. Was so pissed I just went home to try the fries which I ended up dumping. The french dip was just so so, all for 24 bucks. The atmosphere of the place is super nice, service could be better, food 1 star.
Was there last night 9/9. First visit, Had a party of 5. The hostess not Great. And the server also not great. And I will get into details. FOOD: Order a prime rib sandwich. As soon as it came out it seemed off I had to dismantle my sandwich. Cause I’m pretty sure it was not prime rib looked and tasted like tri tip. It also had grill marks like it’s been thrown on a grill and even if it was prime rib that’s not how you serve it. Should be rare and baked not grilled well done. There was also as much fat as there was meat. Big ol pieces of blubber, I even had the host come look at it and he couldn’t identify the meat either. Clueless. I will attach photos. I spoke to the waitress and she said “ that’s how it is it’s a fatty meat”. I did not eat the sandwich. The other person in my party ordered just a tri-tip had some of it there some to go. She felt sick later that night and threw up, we just decided to throw out the rest of the meat. Some of the food was good and edible, the pork ribs, and the burger PAYMENT: So fast forward to paying bill. I asked a few questions about the food. And how I felt. As I was paying with cash and card. The male hostess then turned to the rest of my party of 4. And said “he will not let this go will he?” I shared with him that when the bill is $170 dollars and I didn’t even eat the food cause it was not edible.the waitress then said “it was only bread on the plate hon” I told her no the onions the meat and the fat alll still there. She did comp my food only. At the end. I ask a few questions. As I paid with my card. The female server. Grabbed the card machine right after I removed my card. looks at me and said “you didn’t leave a tip on here”. I acknowledged her and said that’s correct. I’m going back to the table. We’re not leaving immediately and we have cash. I shared that information with the rest of my party and based on the waitresses performance, we all decided not to leave a tip. We got up from our seats, exited in a quiet fashion, and the female server was at the table, lifting up every napkin, salt shaker anything on the table, looking for a cash tip and then asked one of the people in my party. Where is the tip? Apparently, Money is all that that’s on her mind In the photo the prime rib on the right and the fat on the left. Needless to say, unlikely to be back, based on the waitress and staff there. I hope this comes across as constructive criticism. I’m not trying to just bash the place.
I was really excited to try this place but was highly disappointed. I ordered over the phone. When I get off to pick up my order there was a sign that read "wait for hostess". I stand there for a few minutes and I can see the hostess as she is just a few feet in front of me. She doesn't even look up once. I walk in to where she's standing and still no acknowledgement that I'm right in front. Not until I say "Hi, I'm here for a pick up". While I wait, I try and make small talk but it just felt awkward. Strike one: Bad service. The food..ohhhhh the food. I ordered two tri-tip sandwiches that came with fries, and an order of Jack's tacos. I had high hopes for the food. I was willing to forgive the bad service. I came home and tried the tacos first. They were the most basic "carnitas" I've had. The meat was flavorless, unseasoned mush. The tri-tip sandwiches had sooo much fat in it that it was near impossible to take a bite without having a mouth full of fatty blubber. I've had tri-tip that was easy to bite through, these sandwiches were not that. I was literally fighting my sandwich just to take a bite. The fries were stiff and flavorless. Strike two: flavorless, substandard food. All in all, for what we paid for this visit i was not happy. I felt hungry. I paid $50 for three tacos, two sandwiches and stale fries. That was not the problem, problem was the flavorless mush I had to down with my drink because it was just so dense. The fatty parts in my sandwich. The hard, stale fries that looked like I could've gotten them from my local grocery store. I will not be returning. Not worth my time or money.
