The chicken is my favorite,the fish is awesome grilled and fried....I want to discover the menu more but its so hard to choose from those 3. I love Sam's 💘

Good portions, very good for fast food. It’s not really dine in, drive up like Sonic and there are four benches outside where you can eat in if you want, no public restrooms. But the food was very good, we were passing by and wanted something local. We got the crab cakes ( comes woth 3 and 2 sides) and fried crawfish poboy (1 side)

Holy moly! What a great value! Dont pass this place up! I highly recommend the fried pickles..the kids chicken nuggets.. and the fish basket. They give you ample quantities! My only suggestion is to supply lemon/lime/tartar sauce. Will be back!

Day trip to Texarkana left us looking for lunch! So glad we found this place! Food was excellent and the service was wonderful! Sweet girl came out and took our order. Just so you know, this is not a dine in place. We didn't mind eating in the truck at all. They do have some pic nic tables as well. If you find yourself looking for a good meal, stop on by!

Oh my Sam's Southern Eatery has been nothing but the best seafood I have ever tasted. I would recommend this place to Everybody. Number 1 food for seafood. Whoever the cook is well keep doing what your doing and I'll Always come back!!! And Excellent service as well!!!

Me and my son stop by to have lunch and we were not disappointed. I had the chicken livers combo, the breading was light and crispy. The livers was moist and tasty with some seasoned fries and Mac $ cheese. Wasn’t impressed with the the Mac and cheese. Then I tried the chicken Philly. This sandwich was full of flavor. I really liked the chicken Philly. My sides was red beans and rice and coleslaw

It was very yummy. The staff was eager to help us. I really loved the fried shrimp and red beans & rice. It was the first time I had spicy hush puppies and they were really good too. The fish was a little too "fishy" for me, but that's just me. The breading of it was really delicious. I will get the tilapia instead next time since it has a milder flavor.

Go here. Not the same as Hickory Street location. Lots of the reviews are for that one. There are different owners. I got the shrimp/fish combo. Too much to eat. Great left over in air fryer. Will come back when on that side of town.

Ya'll!!! WOW!!!! I can't even begin to tell you how amazing the food and experience was at Sam's Southern Eatery! First, the fried fish was P.E.R.F.E.C.T!!! I usually douse my fish in tartar sauce but didn't even dip in until half way through - and the sauce was the best I have ever had!!! It literally topped every expectation!!! The restaurant was SO clean! Jasmyne, my waitress was very attentive, sweet and all around precious! If you have not tried this restaurant you are truly missing out! Fantastic guys!!!!!!!

I ordered the grilled tilapia plate. GRILLED TO PERFECTION! with grilled onions and peppers. Red beans and rice were good Cole slaw was extra creamy and delicious. Hush puppies were tasty😊 I'm so satisfied!

Food was delicious. I tried them because I loved the location in Shreveport LA and this locations food was actually better. I loved the fried fish and shrimp and Mac and cheese. Yummy!

If you like fried livers, this is your spot. The prices are great. The fried fish, shrimp, and french fries are great. The crab cakes are delicious. There was one item that I wasn't a fan of but I can't remember if it was the corn or coleslaw. I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu.

We were driving around looking for somewhere to have lunch and this little place caught our eye and I’m so glad it did. The food was FANTASTIC! So well season and the portions were very generous. I took the pictures after we had already dug in because it smelled way too good to wait! Kylie was the one who helped us and she was so kind and quick (and her nails were cute too) The place looks a little rustic on the outside, but totally worth the stop. My only complaint is that they don’t have dessert because after tasting how delicious this food is, I’m sure their desserts would blow me away! Thanks Kylie and team!

Looks like an old Sonic. I ordered the 2 piece fish 6 piece shrimp with fries and fried okra. Firstly, everything was fresh! Hot and tasty. I realized halfway thru my meal that I hadn't received 2 hush puppies, so I went inside to request them. I could've passed on the hush puppies. The cocktail sauce for the shrimp seemed a little too stiff for dipping. Outside of these 2 things my meal was OUTSTANDING!!! Highly recommended! Price was great for the food. They have the big shrimp, not those little shrimp nugget things. I was soooo full, but so grateful to have found this place!

If you want true southern comfort food that tastes great in Texarkana, Sam's is is definitely the place. The ladies working there are also the sweetest.

The food is always great but the post-Sonic drive-in method is very flawed. You park in a space, just like at Sonic but there are no speakers and no button to press to let them know you're there and ready to order. This makes it pretty easy to be overlooked. I guess if you want to avoid that, just call in your order first and pick it up.

Very hot food. Seafood seasoned well. Made fresh but didn't take to long. Typical sides and condiments ok. Red beans and rice is great but no sausage in it.

I was a little skeptical to try this place based on Facebook reviews, but I'm glad I did! The food was good, and it came out quickly. Plus the two different staff members that I encountered were courteous.

Was traveling on way to Texas and stopped here because we have one in our home town. The food was very good, however the location needs to be better. It was at an old sonic building. Had no place to sit inside. We sat outside at the tables that were left from sonic. If you want to eat in your car or get the food to take home it your chose.

The Service Was Great... Our Server Was Not Just Nice... He Was Funny... Enjoyed The Customer Service Alot... The Food Was Good & Hot... The Only Thing I Didn't Care For Was The Okra... So for all those that don't know I'm from Detroit Michigan where we fry and do things differently. So today my daughter suggested I try Sam's Southern Eatery and I must say it was really good. Those fried green tomatoes was 🔥🔥 and that means good as heck..I had the 2 piece fish with the 6 shrimps. The fires were ok the hush puppies well let's just say I should of gotten the okra. But my experience was a good one♥️

Philly cheesesteaks are off the chain. Everything else is just fried food.

My experience was when I went there to eat the first time I got to get an extra tartar sauce the next time the girl said 50 cents for a extra sauce I didn't like that especially when I just spent $33 one girl that helped me was very friendly and the other one was snooty as can be they don't smile like they just hate their job

Food was good, mac and cheese bland as heck, salt and pepper shakers were absolutely disgusting. The entire building is disgustingly dirty. Great food, nasty place to sit inside of. Drove 5 hours and just wanted a good place to eat.

The food is ok when compared to the other Sam’s across town on the Arkansas side. This location does tend to charge more for certain sides. For instance if you bought a 12 piece grilled shrimp meal here on New Boston with all fried okra you would pay slightly more than the Arkansas location and the portion size would be smaller. The Arkansas Sam’s Southern Eatery on the same 12 piece grilled shrimp would even give you a piece of grilled catfish included in the price and no extra fee to have all fried okra. Just my 2 cents.

Was very good for a long time and it seems like they got a new cook that is not a fish or shrimp cooker,, grilled fish to dark like he don't scrap down grill in-between meals so it's kind of rubberyas is the shrimp, the fryed fish AND shrimp are alot darker as if grease is way too high or high or to much batter in grease... But before these last few weeks no one in town could touch them need a better kitchen staff is all I'm saying Brother...

When they first opened up until recently you got big portions. Now they've went up on the prices and you get less. Instead of a full fish filet you may get half of one. The Mac and cheese is being watered down. This was my favorite place to eat....not so much anymore.

Had the 6 shrimp 6 oyster meal with corn and hush puppies. Was not happy with the food quality or flavor. The shrimp were bland and were fried with tails on. They oysters had a slimy texture under the batter. Neither the shrimp or oysters had much flavor. The corn was rubbery with no real flavor, or seasoning was definitely not fresh. And the cocktail sauce was solidly congealed. I feel this was not worth the over $20 I paid for the meal. Disappointed

My mom loves this place, I can do with out. Other places are better in my opinion Be careful if they say their cc machine isn't working. I would be careful just giving them your money?. I was missing $20 on my change back. This was a few months ago.

On today's visit I wasn't that hungry so I inquired about fish by the piece. I wanted grilled fish. I was given the price per piece, but it would be $1 more for grilled which was no problem. The waitress came back and said the owner doesn't just want to do 3 pieces of grilled fish so I would have to order the meal. Ok the meal is only 3 pieces of grilled fish anyways with one side. So what's the difference 🤣 you still had to cook 3 pieces. The food is good bad experience.

Waited 12 minutes. Nobody would come to my vehicle. At least 5 employees inside. They waited on 3 other cars. They weren't busy either. I kind of see why.

They got my order all wrong. Manager made excuses as to why they couldn't fix it. The salad was nothing more than the leftover lettuce very sorry excuse for what should have been a salad. My business will support other local eateries.

The fish was nasty and the hostess tipped herself off of my debit card. My total was $13.24 and my receipt said that but my debit card is linked to an app which shows each purchase. She gave herself a $2.65 tip. I'll never go back but if you go there use cash.

Not a fan of being asked for a tip right after ordering. Tips are based on food and service quality, neither of which can be rated that early.

I don't know where to begin with this place. I ordered chicken basket basket with a sweet tea. A few minutes later the door dasher called me and told me that they didn't have tea and would a Coke be OK. I told her now just to refund the money and I'll drink water. So a few minutes later the door dasher shows up and and I have a Peach tea not sweet peach. She proceeded to tell me that the owner cussed her out and was very rude to her. I called and asked why I didn't get a refund and I got a peach tea instead of a sweet tea and they told me that their tea maker had been broken for about 3 months but I'm still getting a peach tea with a broken tea maker... Certainly filed a complaint with doordash the food was horrible too it was a sit under a heat lamp for a couple hours or something it was not fresh.

If you can get your food, it's good. However today was my second experience using their online ordering system to place my order and it leads to errors BOTH TIMES! Today I did not receive my crawfish poboy and I have to jump through hoops to get a refund through the Menufy platform. Also I ordered Craw Cakes thinking I would get Crawfish Cakes, but they ended up being Crab Cakes. I'm extremely unhappy with their system and do not recommend!

You know not everyone eats fish and seafood. Just because they don’t, doesn’t mean call city on a small person trying to make it. I remember when you got shut down at other locations because of being nasty or in trouble and lost business because your staff was caught stealing money and adding tips or doubling tips to peoples tabs. If anyone needs shut down, it is you guys.

This food use to be so awesome but after tonite I'm done. French Fries tasted old, my fish tasted funny and it was the smallest it's ever been, and this is the worse experience I've ever had at Sam's Southern Eatery. This was not worth what I paid for nothing tasted good

I hate the fact that they pressure you for a tip, even before you get your food .

My co workers and I had an order from this restaurant if you want to call it that. They got the fish dinner but couldn't eat the slaw because it was spoiled and the macaroni and cheese was way overcooked. We called and were told it was made daily. So one person went up there and took slaw and macaroni and cheese back. And it still wasn't fixed. Would not recommend eating here cause if something is wrong with order you're basically told "we don't care"

Usually love this place, hate to do this !! Had a bad experience during my jobs employee appreciation lunch we choose this place one order had half cooked fish! Shrugged it off tried it again today Cole slaw went bad I spit it out then my coworker checked hers Mac and cheese obliterated noodles burnt hush puppies and then again under cooked fish they said they couldn’t replace nothing but the slaw asked for 2 red beans and rice after having to drive from stateline back on my lunch and lady still messed up and gave me 1 red beans and rice and 1 Mac and cheese at this point and $45 later I’m done I will go to 82 Eats from now on I been eating here since the 1st one opened up on stateline and can honestly say I have watched it go down hill . I will not be back and will not recommend

Bought food yesterday night for my mama, and got tiny pieces of fish, hush puppy was gummy, food wasn't cooked the way I ask either. Once I got home she started eating and it was tasteless and a french fries were soggy after I ask for them to be cooked longer and gummy hush puppies(I mean look at how flat the fish is). I told her to stop eating, I called no answer, claim they stop answering the phone at 8:45... Ok. So today I called and told them and they said bring it back, after they brought the food out and had her look at it, the little short man with glasses and a mustache (I think Mexican) told us that they wouldn't do it again. How do you tell a customer, a paying customer that you won't remake their food again if it's wrong or not worth the money you just spent. I would understand if she ate half or most of the food and brought it back, but my mama stop eating after the first bite. Regardless if it matters or not they just lost customers, not what they use to be.

The food is great but the service is horrible! I waited an hour for my food while I watched others come in after me, PLACE AN ORDER, & drive away. Service is key, folks! Update (apparently I wasn't very clear): I SAW PEOPLE ORDER THEIR FOOD. I watched as the carhop took orders on a pad in the same way in which they took mine. The thought that they may have called their order in ahead of arrival crossed my mind so I watched, fervently, so as not to make an unfounded claim of my experience. (I thought folks would make sense of it by putting it in caps in the original posting.) Quit justifying bad behavior & fix the problem.
