This was a chill and roomy neighborhood cafe with great espresso and good amount of seating. The high ceilings and bright natural light make it a really nice space. The coffee was fantastic. I’d stop by again for sure if I find myself in Thai Town again.

Outstanding coffee!! SOLID. We got a mocha. Smooth yet bold. The chocolate ‘nibbles’ they put on top was a nice treat. I love that they are dog friendly also. (The dog owners got coffee to go but it was nice to see cute furry friends stopping in :) Friendly service. Great experience. We’ll be back!

Only one coffee shop in this area and they did a great job! I visited LA and staying at the hotel in this area and I found this coffee shop while I was looking for a good coffee in the morning. I’m so glad I stopped by and got my coffee here, everything here was great especially coffee they have made it perfect. I ended up coming here every morning until I got back to NY and I’m gonna miss them.

Great coffee shop in Hollywood with a fun, bright atmosphere and incredibly friendly service. They have good drip and all other typical offerings, but the highlight here it their specialty lattes that use house-made syrups and milk alternatives. Their menu is mindful to provide great dairy-free options that taste great (although, you can get regular milk if that’s your jam). I got the Filipino oat iced coffee which tasted great - I’ll be back to try more!

Stopped by for an afternoon pick me up while visiting Thai town and I have to say that this place did not disappoint. We had ordered the Thai Town Latte & the Filipino Iced Coffee. They were both tasty, but if you had to choose one I’d recommend the Filipino Iced Coffee. I’d also have to recommend that you bring your own straw if you plan on getting the Filipino Iced Coffee because they do not have straws and the ube powder tends to sink to the bottom unless you mix it frequently with the stir stick. I do have to say that it’s interesting that they charge an extra 25¢ for ice. They had great vibes and would have definitely stayed to work there if I had my laptop and if there was seating. There’s about 5-6 tables but they were all taken and there was only bench seating available but there was very harsh light coming in from the front entrance that made it a little hard to sit there. The shop also has a lot of cool items for sale like coffee and sustainable gifts for tea and coffee. ~~Parking: There is no dedicated lot, so you’ll have to find metered street parking or walk a little further to search for some residential parking spots. ~~Service: Good. ~~Best Part: We ultimately chose to come to this place because it has different coffee options than all of the typical ones that you see at other coffee shops. ~~Worst Part: The shop is a little hard to find if you’re just passing by. You’d definitely need to be out searching for it because I thought Google Maps had taken us to the wrong place. There is a coffee sign painted on the side of the building but I almost went into the restaurant next door. ~~Return: Yes

Quaintly, modern family owned third wave coffee shop in Thai town! Amazing coffee, tea and pastry programs.. as well as a total vibe for studying, writing, etc. decent lighting and super cute plants 🪴

Loved my Thai tea latte and matcha donut (made from almond flour) such a bright interior and loads of outlets for people to work. And it’s black owned and features some local black artists on the wall.

Needed a quick afternoon pick me up, and found this gem. We also realized that we needed food before more caffeine, and their cheeseburger hand pie and hashbrown spam masubi were sooooo good. I had a classic vanilla late and my friend had the Thai tea coffee. Great find.

This place felt like a classic LA coffee joint. A little quiet spot, kinda grungy in the best way, and really good coffee. The Filipino iced coffee was great!

This is a tiny counter with serious espresso. The cappuccino art is consistently pretty, but I stay for the cheddar scallion biscuit—flaky with a soft interior. There’s a shaded sidewalk bench that’s prime for people-watching on Glendale Blvd. They remember regulars’ orders, which feels old-school. Great pit stop before hiking up to the reservoir loop

I’m a self-proclaimed coffee snob and my drink is espresso, clean and simple. This shop and their house-roasted beans are the best in LA in my opinion. Hands down. If rich, choco/hazelnut notes in a classic espresso is your thing, I think you won’t be disappointed.

My friend is obsessed with the coffee here whenever she comes to visit. The espresso is very cherry/acidic which isn’t for me but I think most people prefer it that way. Everyone is super nice here and I think it’s a lovely little shop.

Got egg sando and iced mocha less sweet. Love how egg yolk was not overcooked but overall it was too salty for me. I just ate only eggs and left egg paste and bread because it’s really salty that I couldn’t finish them all. My iced mocha was still too sweet for my taste so I might try no sugar or syrup next time. Very friendly service and nice ambiance.

Obet and Del's (est 2020) is a colorful mom-and-pop coffee shop that blends tradition and innovation. It's located in Hollywood's Thai Town. O&D is Filipino culture-inspired coffee crafted by owners Heather Knox and Josh Oliveros. The shop’s 90's retro interior design and layout were well conceived and very spacious, respectively. They have breadth of coffee drinks and modest pastry selection. Free wifi available (2 drink minimum prerequisite). Plenty of street parking. We came here to grab a nice Cold Brew; perfect on a sunny warm LA. It was okay. Service was on point. Staff were cordial. Overall, I had a good order experience. I’d definitely come back for other drink and pastry.

I wish I could say I liked it. The aesthetic is super nice in this place. There’s a good amount of seating (albeit not the comfiest, but still plentiful). Maybe if I tried another drink it would be good but the Filipino latte (espresso, ube, oat milk) did not taste like anything except oat milk. That was the only taste to the whole drink. Weak coffee, and maybe like the tiniest(??) hint of ube. They have very unique drink options so it was definitely a little disappointing. Also beware — parking is very, very challenging. I spent probably 20 min on it — obviously the weekend will be tough. But just good to note. If you’re already in the area then try it but if not, it’s not worth it.

I never had a great experience here. Their milk is consistently badly foamed, resulting in a thick layer of tasteless bubbles on top with hot liquid underneath. After two bad cappuccinos, I decided to give it one last chance and tried their special Thai Town Latte, which was a total disaster. I paid 6.5 plus tip for a cup of bland, extra hot, watered down Thai tea concentrate that I had only one small sip. To give Obet & Del's credit, I like its interior design and vibe, there is a sense of openness and optimism. In one side of the room, big street windows let in lots of natural light onto the beautiful brick wall and light up the airy space. In the other side, a few tables are placed against a wall painted with bright color stripes.

The little Asian guy wearing the old boy logo shirt so rude skipped me knowing damn well he saw me walk in and acknowledged me then apologized raising his voice. Then the black girl and him decided to be rude as she gave me my coffee I said thank you. like I did something wrong to her. Hella miserable people judged me for being brown most likely especially in Hollywood I made a mistake by coming in as a walk in. All the customers saw this happen at 1230 pm 11/18, felt lowkey discriminated.

The coffee and food here was phenomenal. The reason for my lower star review is the utter hypocrisy and lack of compassion exhibited by the staff here. The art on the walls of this establishment include images of MLK Jr, resistance artwork and a quote by Huey Newton about transforming society. With all this you would think this would be a safe place for people experiencing difficulties but not so much. During my visit a woman who seems to be experiencing homelessness came into the establishment. She was keeping to herself and not bothering anyone. Immediately a staff member came up and asked if she was going to buy anything. I get wanting to save seating and things for paying customers so while it was a little abrupt I understood. The woman said yes she would and the employee left but continued to glance and give her dirty looks. After awhile it became clear to me that the woman was struggling to find the money to make the purchase so I went up introduced myself and offered to get her a beverage. She gladly took my offer and when I went to pay the employee said they would bring it out to her. I thought this would be a win win for the business and the woman but not so much. When the employee returned they scolded her and told her she would need to have her coffee outside. When the woman pushed back they said okay you can stay max 75 min. I'm fairly confident the woman was denied the restroom as well. The employees never stopped shooting daggers at her and she eventually left after about 20 min. I get needing to set boundaries as a business but the amount of hostility and lack of care was wild coming from a business that seems to say it cares about people. When the opportunity arose to help someone in need they shamed them instead. Truly disgusted by this behavior. I have no expectation that this business would go out of its way to help in every situation and I get as a business needing boundaries but I really can't get over the harshness the woman I encountered was treated with from an establishment that espouses values of people like MLK Jr. I really hope they do better in the future because id love to support them if their values start matching their behaviors. ---response 10/25--- Heather, thank you for getting back to me. I completely understand your team's need to stay safe and look out for guests. My buying the woman a drink made her a guest in your establishment just as it would if I had purchased for my husband or a friend. So this isn't an issue with enforcing a guest only policy but rather an issue with your staff choosing to act with open disgust and shame despite the situation being calm and compliant. I too live in a large city with many unhoused I am not ignorant of the realities that unfortunately mental health issues, addictions and other challenges may make people in those situations more unpredictable in social environments. This however was not the case. This woman was not bothering anyone and other customers clearly felt fine interacting with her as two women sat directly next to her. Safety and compassion are not mutually exclusive. You can maintain a safe environment, enforce policy, and treat people with dignity and respect. If your staff had history with this woman that was cause for concern they could have easily let me know when I came up to buy her a drink but they didn't. They chose instead to treat her as someone not worthy of their time and with disgust. I was hopeful a business with your espoused values would take this feedback as an opportunity to do better but it appears that is not the case which is very disappointing.
