Avaliações de Torung Hollywood
Torung is amazing, and will always hold a sentimental place in my heart. I’ve been going there for 12 years now and the quality has always been consistent! The customer service is great and they treat you like you’re just right at home ! If you’re ever looking to try some Thai food Torung is the place to go! If you’re not sure what to order there,I love all the food but some of my favorites that you should try are, Tum Kao soup , pad Thai , pineapple fried rice , chicken satay, green curry, white rice, beef and broccoli and Thai iced tea.
Awesome food, very affordable comparatively. I think they reduced portion size recently but still filling.
I’ve been coming here for 15+ years and the food has been great throughout the years! Yellow crab curry is the way to go on rice along side tum yum soup and crab cakes.
I love this place—I’ve been coming here forever! Affordable prices and such a cozy little hole-in-the-wall. I especially love eating here when it rains. Sitting by the window with a hot bowl of tom yum soup and fresh rolls is perfect. The view of the street, the rain, and the neon lights reflecting on the pavement makes it such a vibe. It’s a great spot for people-watching and exploring Thai Town. The service is always lovely too.
Very good authentic Thai restaurant. food is delicious. some dish are spicy, not insane spicy, but if you don't tolerate spicy, it might not be to your taste. Yellow coconut curry is delicious. fried fish and fresh ginger is bomb, if you like fish, it s a must try. Cash only place. A must try if you pass by Hollywood.
Excellent Thai food at very good prices. 10/17/22: Had the fried fish with chili garlic sauce. Was perfectly fried and the sauce had a great fresh flavor. 10/20/22: Had the War soup which is a Thai Chinese soup. Great flavor especially when you add some of their vinegary hot sauce. I like that they serve it in a special bowl with a fire to keep it hot. Fried banana was very good too. 3/9/23: Had the Tom Kha with chicken, medium spiciness. Was good but they only put chicken, lemongrass, basil and green chilies. Would be nice if they put some vegetables in there. 2/10/25: Had the Yellow Crab Curry (excellent) and the pad Thai (decent but a bit too sweet)
Live in the OC, driving there to eat with heavy traffic is worth it! Everything from shrimp cakes, pad see ew, sea food combo, yellow crab curry hits the spot. Combine tasty food with fast friendly service is hard to beat. Just makensure you are here early or a bit later. Dinner time can have a wait. 😋
My favorite Thai food place in Los Angeles now has outdoor patio seating. Before, you could only order to - go, due to the pandemic, and I missed so much eating at Torung. But about 3 weeks ago they started their Patio service. It's on the back side of the of the restaurant, entrance is on Wilton St. They have safe measures, they take your temperature, ask to apply hand sanitizer and only seat a maximum of 6 people. The patio is very nice decorated....with cloth - ceiling, ambient lights give a cool vibe, decoration plants, and a speaker that plays radio - hits. There is about 10 tables. Staff is very friendly (as always) and the food is amazing!!! Since they open I have gone 5 times!!! And plan to head out there every weekend. If your looking to go out...feel like having some Thai food.. visit Torung!! They operate daily from 5p to 10p
This is a lovely fun affordable old school Thai restaurant. It is a bit unusual for nowadays that it is cash only, but the low prices compensate for that. The menu has pre-pandemic pricing. I like the ambiance. It's a good place to go with a big group of people. They are great at handling the order. The people who work here are really nice. The garlic rice is a bit unusual and good. The food is quite satisfactory as well!
This restaurant is hidden gem. I've been to Thailand many times and the food here is pretty authentic & surprisingly very good. Pad thai and Panang curry are the bomb. Price is so cheap :) most of them are under $10 They don't serve alcohol :( Parking can be challenging since it's located on Hollywood Blvd.
Monday, I ordered shrimp fried rice about 5-6 shrimps. Not enough A week later, I ordered shrimp fried rice.. This time I had extra shrimp and I pay five dollars for it… Five shrimps. You guys are not fooling anybody
Sad to say I drove across town to eat here and sat down for dinner with friends... They ONLY take cash. None of us had enough. Sad as it sounds like a great place. That's very limiting on your customers.
This restaurant was great until they took my favorite meals off the menu like roast duck over rice and steamed shrimp in a pot so I've been coming here for like 30 years so goodbye torung
Racist. The bill was $18, I put a $20 bill down expecting my change so I could then keep the remaining $2 dollars and put a $10 tip. Which is what I always leave as tip there. The hostess takes my bill and after a while I notice I haven't gotten my change I see her standing by the register and we make heavy eye contact, she does a lot of different things. At this point it has almost been 15 minutes since she took my bill and hasn't returned with my change even though we've been making heavy eye contact. I call over another worker and ask for my change he goes up to the register where she is and another lady worker is as well I hear them say something about tip and make some sort of scoffing gesture. She brings my change and with an attitude says "just so you know tip is not included". I put down my 10 dollars and she says "oh". She assumed I wasn't going to leave tip and was trying to keep my change as tip. You respect people and bring them their change ALWAYS. There was no reason to assume this of me the only reason I can see is because I'm brown. It's disgusting behavior. I told her she shouldn't do that and she said yeah yeah sorry but in a dismissive way. DISGUSTING. Do better and shame on that worker. You don't treat people like that. Period.
Rude waitress! Currently on the phone with my best friend as she ate at this place. Her meal came out to $18. She gave $20. The waitress took the money and didnt return. My friend loved the food and told me she wants to give them $10 tip. The waitress kept making eye contact with her, giving her strange looks but never gave her a receipt or change. My friend asked for her change and the waitress said “the tip is not included.” My friend gave her the $10 tip and told her not to assume. The waitress approached another staff member, said something and laughed. My friend then told her it was rude and she shouldn’t make assumptions. My friend has eaten at this place many times. They lost a customer who loved this place. She also said the Thai tea was bad.
Aboid this place if you care about food quality and service!!! I really wanted to like this restaurant — the food looked good, and I came in hoping for a nice meal. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected, and it all came down to the service. I ordered several dishes, including a Pad Thai with extra shrimp. When my food arrived, I immediately noticed it didn’t look like there was an extra order added. I politely mentioned it to the server, but instead of handling it professionally, she actually came to my table and started counting the shrimp on my plate. I was honestly shocked — not only is that unsanitary, but it just felt so disrespectful. She said the regular Pad Thai comes with six shrimp and the extra order adds another six. After counting, she found eleven and told me only one was missing. Then she asked if I had already eaten one because, according to her, the cook insisted he had added all the extra shrimp. I hadn’t even touched my food yet. That comment really bothered me — it felt like she was implying I was lying. A few minutes later, she brought me one tiny shrimp on a small plate, completely unseasoned, and just walked away. From that point on, she barely checked on our table, even though the restaurant was practically empty. It made the whole meal uncomfortable, and honestly, I lost my appetite. I still left a decent tip because I understand times are hard, but this experience left me disappointed and a bit disgusted. I’ve eaten at so many restaurants and have never seen someone handle a customer concern this way. That’s just unacceptable! To the owner — please take this as honest feedback. The food was decent, but your staff needs better training in how to treat customers with respect. No one should have their plate touched or be made to feel like they’re being accused of lying over something as simple as a missing shrimp. This restaurant has potential, but that kind of service really ruins it.
I have been coming to this establishment for nearly 30 years, and it saddens me to say how much it has changed. For decades, this was one of my favorite places to visit—a spot I would happily drive 35 miles to enjoy, because the food, service, and overall atmosphere always made the trip worthwhile. Unfortunately, in recent years, the experience has gone downhill, especially when it comes to customer service. On multiple occasions now, I’ve arrived well before closing, only to be turned away. Most recently, at 11:14 pm, we were told we could neither dine in nor order food to go, even though the kitchen doesn’t close until 11:30 pm. After almost three decades of being a loyal customer, I know the policies and times well, and “last call” has always been understood to mean 11:30 pm, not 15 minutes earlier. It is extremely frustrating to make such a long drive, only to be refused service before the actual cutoff time. What’s most disappointing is not just being turned away, but the unprofessional manner in which it’s handled. The warm hospitality and consistency that once defined this place seem to have disappeared, replaced with a dismissive attitude that makes longtime customers feel unwelcome. Sadly, as much as it pains me to say this after so many years of loyalty, I no longer feel valued as a customer and will not be returning. It’s truly unfortunate to see such a beloved place lose what made it special.
