Coming back from Sunday church and stopped in for a quick bite. Didn't try a dessert but will next visit. This Miss Patti says thanks to Miss Laura and will be back again soon♡
A country diner with impeccable service, the best locally sourced ingredients served up in a welcoming and super clean atmosphere. Excellent value, you will not be disappointed !
So glad to come back to one of my favorite diners Food is always good and staff always friendly. The old fashioned doughnuts are so yummy.
We had breakfast. I had the western omelet and it was amazing! My coffee cup was always full. Mom and pop diner and it's amazing!
It's Friday 😊 AWESOME fish mac n cheese. Homemade cinnamon donut delicious. Our first time n will be back
Had the best beef barley soup made by Kenny!!! Good luck to the new owners!!! They have a high bar to keep!!!
Staff is always great...love my food as always the portions HUGE...
The food was excellent!! The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly and the food came out very quickly the prices were excellent for the food that we received!!!
Friendly staff! Clean rest stop for a delicious home made meal. Always stop here en route and back from Canada. So much better than chain stops.
Amazing food at great prices. Traditional style country diner. Definitely worth the stop if you are in Theresa.
I have heard many nice things about this place. I had lunch here with some family and man o man the BBQ sandwich was just out of this world. My son had the fried fish which was excellent.
Miss Laura's is awsome! We stop there all the time on our way home, rather than in eating in Watertown. Reasonable prices, good homemade food, clean, staff is on top of it. Miss Laura can work circles around any young waitress I have seen!
So tastes and mouth watering! Miss Laura's is the place to be for a nice, hot home cooked meal! The service is great and she always welcomes you there with a fantastic smile!
Awesome, family friendly diner. Food was cooked homemade. No wait. Everything came out perfect. Blueberry pie was a great ending. Definitely going back. Thanks Sue❤
Good food and friendly atmosphere! Me and my partner come here often. Ms.Laura knew our orders after the first few times being there. Great friendly people!
Small town diner with large portions and huge flavor!! I recommend the stuffed French toast w/ home fries. I had them add peppers and onions!! Out of this world!!
I grew up growing to this diner. There pies are really good and the owner is a sweet heart. There food is good, you can dine in or take out. Its a Small place it will fit about 25 people.
Biggest fish dinner I've eaten in a long time the oblong plates can't even contain them they hang off both ends. And soooo good. Miss Laura herself served us, she's a dynamo. 🙂
Fantastic breakfast experience while I was on the road. Wonderful homemade food, excellent service, and very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
Great place to eat. Home cooking so much better than fast food places. Good atmosphere great people and service is good. Thank you Laura, I enjoyed everything.
Had the open faced prime rib sandwich (excellent). Today had the hot turkey sandwich with fries and gravy (awesome). Definitely recommend.
Been eating at this location since 1975. Once Indian River diner now two sisters, I cannot think of another diner that is finer
Stopped in late morning and ordered breakfast.arrived super fast and exactly right. Waitress sharp, friendly very neat. Restaurant was very clean and orderly. I was very comfortable there.
Food was excellent and service was great. Someone recommended to me and I will definitely recommend to others. Keep up the good work.
Miss Laura and her staff are always friendly and BUSY! Regulars are treated like family. Food is great, and a good value for your money.
Great little diner. Staff is quick and friendly. Food portions are a good size. Not expensive. Would come back.
Best food I've had at a diner in a long time 😳
Great diner. Fast, home cooked food decent prices. Recommend.
I had the hot hamburger special w/fries & gravy & delicious Cole slaw. Fast & courteous service as always! Very affordable! Served hot & was delicious!
I happen to stop in there for Lunch on the way back from Watertown. And the food was excellent and the price was good. So I returned that evening for dinner with my brother and it was just as good. We got the most food for our money. It was very excellent food quality taste. And price can't beat it.I would highly highly recommend it to anybody who wants to go out for a nice dinner or even lunch
From out of town and just wanted anything to eat. Boy was I surprised! I had breakfast and my plate was loaded for $8! Food was good, the waitress was great, always had coffee in my cup without asking. Definitely going to try dinner menu. Ended up going 3 days in a row for breakfast and excellent each time!
The best fried chicken unless you're actually going to Willie Mae's in New Orleans!!! Highly recommended their fish fry, prime rib and their salads as well.
Great food, low prices. I made this review when Miss Laura ran the place. Today an omelette that cost $12.75 didn't come with coffee or home fries! Over $4 for a small pile of home fries seems outrageous . No more breakfasts here
Miss Laura's is a small quaint family diner on NY route 37 that makes you feel welcome. If you like family diners off the beaten path, this is your food place to go. A big plus is that they are open Sunday morning. Waitresses are attentive and prompt. Food is served hot and tastes delicious. Friday's is fish fry day, and their Haddock dinner is the best I have had in a good while.
Very nice people who serve great food. Have ate there several times and the food is always good. Waitress are very nice. Homemade food not frozen stuff.
The diner is country like, like your in your own kitchen with family and it's a good place to just relax, or see people you know talk. Eat amazing home cook food that's what it tastes like to me.
Just had Fish Fry on Friday and was the best I ever had anywhere around here and can’t beat the price for all you get. Miss Laura has the best French fries anywhere around and coleslaw. Love diner food so much and glad we have Miss Laura’s Diner so close to where we live. I haven’t had anything I didn’t enjoy and plenty of food no matter what you order. 5 stars every time.
Very busy on the Sunday we visited, but didn't have to wait long to be seated. It was after eleven a.m. so we couldn't get breakfast, which was weird for a diner. We got burgers and fries, and the burgers were great. Very well cooked but juicy.
As good as you can get for a nice little breakfast diner. Good food, good prices and friendly staff. Will stop again when passing through town
Great place to eat. Stop there every Saturday morning after a round of Sporting Clays @ 1000 Island Sportsmen Club. Great people, Terrific food and wonderful atmosphere. Breakfast is 2eggs, ham &Texas toast. Lunch is Toasted cheese, eggs & ham sandwich. Yum!!!
Haddock dinner was delicious. Transition of new ownership to Two Sisters is seamless. Same menu and meal prices are good. The new owners have great service.
Omg! I can't say enough Great things about Miss Laura's. Food is Excellent! Service and Atmosphere is so relaxing. Cozy yet roomy and homemade everything right down to their yummy pies. I can't get enough. I recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves Great food and Great Company
I met my friend here for coffee and pie. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. I plan to return with my family for a full meal. Update: We went back for breakfast and everyone enjoyed their meal. We received friendly attentive service. Great diner!
Awesome little diner with good food and friendly people!
Wonderful food and service. Reasonable pricing with a wide variety of dishes on the menu with excellent daily lucheon and dinner specials. Sunday's Chicken 'n Biscuits is to die for and the Wednesday Open-face Prime Rib on Toast is delicious, not to mention the Prime Rib Dinner every Saturday night.
The food was great. Just what you would expect from a little roadside diner. I saved room to try a piece of pie which was worth the trip all on its own. The place was packed and there seemed to be quite a few regulars. I will definitely visit again the next time i am down that way.
Best diner meal I ever had. Delicious, reasonably priced, and waaay too large portions that we totally finished!! The apple pie was home made and too perfect!!
Great diner. I am a truck driver passing through, had lunch here the food was good, my waitress was very sweet. I am lactose intolerant, so I couldn’t try the pie that everyone talks about, but I will definitely eat here again if I ever come to this area again.
Great taste, great price and healthy portions.
It's nice to have some one cook for you other than yourself, I'm a cook and I'm picky and I don't like anyone cooking for me, this place was great, it sounded like I was slingin hash on the grill and tasted as if I had cooked it myself. This was delicious, the service was great. A couple waitresses where I work could take a few lessons from this waitress, she was attentive and on the ball. Fast courteous and friendly. Had a heart warming smile that could melt lava. I highly recommend this place for a quick friendly bite to eat. If I'm ever in the area again I would stop In again.
We stopped for the first time for breakfast. Everything was good but the service was exemplary. Very nice young girl that I assume was a sister! Lol Definitely be back.
A delicious find on our way home from Canada on Rte 37. I had the home made pot roast with mashed potato's and Cole slaw. Perfect friendly family owned local restaurant.......
Just stopped in driving home from Carlisle, PA. heading back to Canada. Service was fast and friendly and the food was very good. A lot of locals coming in for dinner, prices are very reasonable. Will definitely come back next time I am heading to Watertown or Syracuse.
Delightful little diner! We were driving through and stopped for breakfast. Very good, friendly service and our food came out in about 5 minutes!
Big portions, reasonable prices. For 2 adults & 3 children our bill was $58, including drinks. We were happy & our grandkids want to go there all the time now. Wait staff is very friendly also. Love this place
I really enjoy the food since the new ownership. The atmosphere was clean and homier than I remember it being. My only complaint was that the service was tad slow but the waitress was super friendly and they were clearly business. Certainly nothing I would truly complain about. However, it is something I'd have to keep in mind and I wouldn't go in if I saw the parking lot full. That just means the business is doing great and I just can't go there if I'm on a time limit, so hopefully they'll eventually be successful enough to hire another wonderfully friendly server and I can feel free to stop in whenever I want. Until then, I'll be sure to make time to stop in with the family when I'm not in a rush to do my part to help them along to success!
Amazing food. Their sweet potato fries are my favorite.
We go all the time I highly recommend the wings, the open face prime rib sandwich on Wednesdays the fish on Fridays just go anything you get will be GOOD
It's a bit pricey for a burger but it IS a real burger cooked the way you want it. (And they get that right!) The order of fries is a bit small but I did get gravy & cheese on them. But still.....pricey. Very nice people.
My family and I eat here all the time. The staff and crew never miss. Food is always outstanding. If you are in the area you need to stop in.
Stopped in on our way home from Alexandria Bay and had a great breakfast, I had the ham and cheese omelette which was chucked full of ham and cheese, along with a side of hash, I couldn't eat it all, my wife had chipped beef over toast and enjoyed it because its something we don't see often, would definitely recommend two sisters diner, and will return
Staying in Alex Bay and decided to try a diner away from there. Glad we did, a nice looking and clean place. I had a sausage and cheese omelet and home fries. Food was good and the prices were reasonable. Would definitely go again when in the area.
You have to check this place out! This family-friendly diner is ideal for breakfast and lunch. We visited for lunch this time and loved the variety of seating options, including tables, booths, and food bar stools. Two Sisters offers daily specials and a tasty menu. We tried the Bacon Cheeseburger Special, complete with toppings, crispy fries, and coleslaw. The burger was a juicy third-pound, cooked to order with a nice crispy edge and just the right amount of fat. While the bun was a bit large and did not taste toasted, it came with a side of mayo for customizing. We ordered ours medium well, but they accommodate different preferences. Each bite of the fresh, crisp lettuce added to the experience. To prevent the bun from falling apart, I recommend cutting the burger in half. The bacon was satisfyingly crispy, and the fries had a subtle breaded flavor, making them a great complement to the beef gravy. The portions are generous, so come hungry! The coleslaw was finely chopped with julienned carrots and just the right amount of dressing, leaving us wanting more after finishing our side. Our server, Sue, was friendly and attentive, ensuring everything was to our liking. The only downside was a pesky fly in the environment. The pie slices looked tempting, and I couldn’t resist ordering a raspberry cookie to go, which was a perfect ending to the meal. We definitely plan to return for more—especially for pie! #baconcheeseburger #cheeseburger #fries #coleslaw #frsshicedtea #gravy #twosistersdiner #ny #nyfoodie #flooogoltravelreviews
Great little spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Tons of home-made food. Special for the day was chicken and biscuits (huge portion). I had a patty melt and beer battered onion rings my husband haddock with in house made tarter sauce and fries. We took home some fantastic cinnamon doughnuts!
Wheeled in here for breakfast after a long morning. I drove past this place a few times, his father was a spot where I can park my semi the other day, so it all kinda worked out. There was a gang of locals in there, and I've learned that if there is a large group of older, very familiar acting locals the food is about to be really good. I was not disappointed. My breakfast was served hot and fresh, with the home fries being cooked absolutely perfectly. The woman who was serving the place really seems to know her stuff. From where I was seated I had a clear view into the kitchen, and everything was clean and well-organized. I will definitely be coming back.
Killer liver and onions! It's been cold out, stopped in needed a hearty hot meal and to warm up. Liver was damn good seared and still moist ! Sweet toasty onions were topped with 4 crispy strips of bacon. Bowl of taters and brown gravy. Yup I need a nap now. Thank you guys! Husband loved his bacon cheese burger and the chocolate chip cookies too.
What a hidden treasure!!! We were seated and waited on not 2 minutes after we walked in .. the service is phenomenal and if you want great homemade comfort food, this is definitely the place to go....high end restaurants ain't got nothin on Miss Laura's
The employees always seem to be in a good mood and very pleasant, the food can be hit and miss, but when it's good it's really really good
I brought my mother here for lunch. We both enjoyed a fish dinner with Macaroni and cheese. The food was cooked well and our server was very pleasant. I will certainly eat here again.
Miss Laura's was highly recommended by a co-worker. It's her family's favorite restaurant. My one regret is I didn't listen and save room for dessert, as they always talk about the pies. The food was very good. We plan to stop again and may start with pie.
Prime rib sandwich....steak tender and juicy...would have liked a bigger sc oop of mashed...gravy is good...homemade pies....mmm
Ordered a BLT club with cheese, side of fries and applesauce. Careful with the menu, because this is not a "two sides" sandwich. My error. But $2.75 for the size of my applesauce was a bit much. Bacon was a little soft for my liking (admittedly, I didn't say "crispy") and the bread ("homemade white") was small for a $12.25 sandwich. As noted elsewhere, the service (at least from one proprietor) is "North Country cordial" - look at you when you come in, wait for you to speak, interact very little, and then as if you are a subject of suspicion. If you understand the territory, it's not a deal breaker. Would probably return, be more cautious when ordering and pay cash. Establishment levies the 3.5% credit card surcharge.
Nice little sit down place to get some great food. The food was great came for breakfast. Had eggs and blueberry pancakes. Wife had eggs, sausage and toast. It was hot and fast. Service was great. Cannot go wrong with a place where the locals eat. They made real ice tea.
Went to it after living near it for all of my life. Has great food although if you are not a regular, every single customer stares at you like you just stepped in with a banana costume on.
We just had breakfast and received sticker shock on the new pricing. This has been our favorite breakfast stop for years. We often went 2 or 3 times a week when in area. The only thing that comes with your eggs is toast. Anything extra costs extra. Home fries $4 25. Coffee $1.99 etc. We will not be back any time soon. As seniors in our 80+ years we do not have raises and need to watch spending. Good luck. We returned for another of their great breakfasts but adjusted our choices to accommodate our budget. Worked well.
Too much margarine on the toast. otherwise, home fries were amazing and the atmosphere was great.
Ordered a blueberry waffle. It came under cooked and about 6 berries on top. Guess I'll stick with eggs as they do a good job with them.
Overall, it was OK, borderline disappointing. The service was exceptional! I definitely felt like and enjoyed the country diner experience! Both my wife’s burger and my fry fish was overcooked, so they were both dry, which was very disappointing! It also would’ve been nice to have a handmade burger as opposed to something out of the freezer. The peanut butter pie tasted good, but it was also dry and felt like it had been made a few days ago. We paid by credit card and it was weird that we could not add our tip onto the bill, we had to be asked and the waitress had to put it on before we signed. Definitely worth upgrading your credit card system! After reading the reviews on Google, I hoping for and expected a much better experience and food.
Used to love coming here, new owners have increased the hours open. If you get the old staff then its a great experience. If you get the new people then your forgotten about and the food isn't right most of the time. Hoping they get better.
Been here a few times in the past few months. After today, I probably wont ever come back. The service was good, but the food was subpar. Ordered open face prime rib and it was cold and chewy. It was served on burnt toast. The fries and coleslaw were good. The first time the service was slow. The second time the waitress didn't know the menu items. The final time, the service was good, but the food not so much.
Prices have gone up. Miss Laura always had place buzzing with people. She was a Great cook. Not as impressed.
Ordered a medium rare burger and the thing was still mooing, lol. The tuna melt wasn't cooked all the way through, had cold spots. The mac salad was good, but could use seasoning.
It's a diner so lets start there. It's not high quality food...but if you need a quick bite to eat on your way to Syracuse or Watertown it's not a bad place to grab something really quick. Prices are cheap. Service is incredibly quick and the place is clean. Food is what it is...you're not stopping here for fine dining.
Ordered plain wings with my families meals for a pick up, upon arriving at the dinner one of the employees informed me the cook made BBQ wings by accident, and asked me if that was fine, I replied I would like plain wings, so I waited 12-13 minutes …. Paid and then received my food, upon returning home the wings looked and tasted like BBQ, what they did is try and rinse the wings and then refried the same wings thinking I wouldn’t know the difference. Attached is a picture showing how hard an over fried wings and the discoloration of the wing which is a dead giveaway!!!! Ok So moral of the story look at your food before you pay when you order take out. Will definitely not go back to this dinner, because that’s morally wrong.
Good service and ok food, the inside is very clean but this place can get loud. The home fries are deep fried and were undercooked (greasy). The toast was really not toasted (not sure how that happens). The ham in the omelette was not totally rendered so it was salty and the liquid filled the omelette. They have a 2 or 4 egg omelette which is nice. I would not go here again.
Food was nothing special. Below average greasy spoon spot with the usual choices. Service was slow, food was incorrect, and portions were very small. Ordered a 4 egg Spanish omelet, received a 2 egg western. Told the server and she said she would look into it. Will definitely not return, and will warn others to stay away.
Not only is this place terrible but the wait is about two hours long and the food is not even worth the wait. Never come here the place is terrible. Also they will not even refill your drink unless it is coffee. But since there is no breakfast places near by you are stuck there and cannot leave. There was a weird fungus growing on the wall and I felt very unsafe. The bathroom was so bad I do not want to even talk about it. But for the reviews sake I will. The air hand dryer in the bathroom will leave your hand as wet as when you where washing them. And finally when I went to leave for a second I thought my feet where stuck to the ground because of all the urin on the ground because no one cleans it.
Wanted to love this cute old school diner but the food was awful, greasy and unappetizing. Easy staples like a tuna melt and Caesar salad with chicken were complete fails. I’d rather not eat than eat there.
I was so disappointed once again with food. How do you make such a blah cheese burger... by overcooking it destroying the flavor. This is the 2nd time we have tried this place and both times the food has been horrible. The first time the mac and cheese was so blah and they had used extremely cheap cheese in it I couldn't even eat a third of it. We will not go back. YUCK!
Stopped for breakfast buffet and was almost all food bins were empty. Waited 20 minutes for them to be filled and then not all were. At cash out, had been given a ticket with a total but charged $10 more at register. When I asked about the difference, was told clerical error. Will not go back there any time soon if ever
Not pleased with this establishment but unsure if it’s because we came in on Father’s Day or if they are usually like this. We weren’t greeted when we came in, weren’t told whether or not to seat ourselves, everyone just looked at us and continued working. After seating we waited 10+ minutes for someone to acknowledge us and take our drink order. Then waited another 15+ minutes for a few glasses of water and coffees. Coffees dropped off, waitress said nothing & continued to speak to everyone around us. Another 20 minutes pass and they get our food order. I ask what’s in the breakfast burrito and she goes “whatever you want” ok? Easy enough, I ask for eggs, potatoes, bacon and cheese. Waitress asked if I’d like mushrooms and peppers as well and I said yes. 30 minutes go by and we are finally brought our food. Tortilla was dripping and soggy. I open it up, no cheese, no bacon and no potatoes. I had maybe one egg in there and the rest filled completely up with mushrooms & peppers. I rated atmosphere 5 stars because everyone around us seemed to be happy and received great food and fast service. Us? Not at all hahaha.
My boyfriend and I decided to grab breakfast here before heading out for a day of activities and were sadly disappointed. I assume this is a place that is more for locals rather than tourists. The food was flavorless, greasy, and low quality. There wasn’t any seasoning, outside of butter. The home fries weren’t fully cooked, the omelettes was just eggs with a slice of Kraft white American cheese and canned mushrooms, and the lemonade was lemon water. My boyfriend did his best to enjoy his steak, bit the meat was too chewy and fatty for him to get more than two bites. We tried to cover the taste of everything with salt and pepper, but it didn’t really help. The only positive part of the experience was our server. The young woman was very nice and doing her best. She kept her smile and helpful attitude despite having to serve a room full of yelling older patrons making inappropriate comments the entire time.
