At Ted's hotdogs, I always have great service, and amazing food. This is one place I try to go to every time I'm in buffalo. I always get a foot long hotdog, with everything on it, and it's just a flavor blast in my mouth, so good. With everything on it, they put their home made sauce on it, and it's just incredible, it's a little spicy with a bold flavor. I'd recommend this place to a friend.

Great local chain that serves delicious grilled hot dogs and burgers. Recently dropped by to try hot dogs while traveling in the area. I got the footlong hot dog and the polish sausage, and both were amazing. The grilled sausages had a good amount of smoky flavors, and all the toppings were nice and fresh. I also liked that they took orders while waiting in line, and I was able to easily customize the toppings via the tablet. Highly recommend giving them a try if you're looking for a good quick and affordable meal.

We love Ted’s! When we lived in Buffalo, this was a staple of ours. Now we make it a priority when we come to visit. The food is amazing and the staff are so friendly and personable. You just can’t beat charbroiled hotdogs! This time we also tried their corn dogs and were pleasantly surprised to find that they were the best we’ve ever had (and we’ve had our share :). We always leave with fully bellies and smiles on our faces, and begin daydreaming about our next visit!

This place is a staple of Buffalo. I first came here about 30 years ago and nothing has changed (which is for the best). The service is absolutely amazing. I messed up my online order and the staff were kind about it and took care of me and my family. We got classic hot dogs and a split. The hot dogs were great and I love that they cook everything in front of you.

The only negative about Ted's is that you'll never be satisfied with any other hot dog. Plenty of seating indoors or outdoors in the shade. If I'm in town, this is probably my first meal. I always get a dog & a loganberry; don't even know what else they serve. Ted's is quintessential Buffalo. I'd you're in town, take the time to visit.

I live in Michigan but grew up in Buffalo. Everything I come to town I have to have a Ted's hot dog. They cook it on an open grill. You get to choose what condiments to put on it. You can get other sandwiches, too, like hamburgers. They have many sodas and milkshakes, but a local favorite is loganberry drink. You can dine in, carry out, and some people order online. I also like that they are open later than most places until 10 pm. See you again, Ted's on my next visit.

Every time I stop at Ted's. Best hot dogs. Cooked over the charcoal foot longs. All kinds of toppings to choose from. I got the foot long with mustard, caramelized onions and bacon crumble. Perfect. Also serves hamburgers that are just as good. This place won't disappoint. Also try the milkshake.

For "fast food" Ted's has exceptional food and service. my 1st experience with Ted's was in person.I ordered a chicken sandwich -onion rings and a drink. The chicken was grilled (not till I ordered it) and I received a huge portion of onion rings. My 2nd I had them delivered and got a bacon cheese burger and FF. Crispy onion rings, a great hot dog with plenty of char and pickle chips and I’m in heaven! A great quick dinner with visiting siblings and now it’s time to try the cookie ice cream sandwich! This is why I love visiting in Buffalo - I eat my way through every visit, and always make time for Ted’s! Make sure you ask for your rings to be cooked “crispy’ because that’s how they are the best! Love watching my hot dog or burger being cooked right in front of me, too. Yum!

Out of towners from Michigan first visit to Ted's You can tell right away that your in the right "local" dog joint when you see 80 year old grandmas in line for a foot long As soon as you walk in you're hit with a blast of smokey charcol goodness and think "this is going to be good" The young staff running the grill and toppings were super friendly and helpful. Got the 5 pack of dogs, single Berger, onion rings and a chocolate shake. While we were in line watching our meat get grilled we picked up on a couple of tips from some regulars. They have both fries and rings but you can order a "split" which is 50/50 fries and rings. The person in front of us ordered the rings extra done, pro move They have all the toppings you could ever want but being from Michigan I wanted to see what their chili sauce was all about. Chili, onion, mustard was what we went with. OK it's not a Detroit style coney sauce. More of a tomato based meat sauce. I won't knock them for that. They also had krout which I didn't know till after 😢 Get a shake, no question one of the best shakes we've had. Onion rings are very lightly coated and thin for the win. We sat outside at one of the picnic table with a colorful yellow umbrella. 2 spots over was an elderly women with her 🐕. So cute. We will be going back the next time we're in Buffalo.

a cute, old-school hot dog joint! a little confusing ordering as a tourist (you have to order a milkshake at the first part of the food assembly line if you want it, but you order regular drinks at checkout for example), but the food was delicious! i got mac and cheese, diced bacon, and carmelized onions on a regular hot dog. messy, but very worth it. if you're from out of town too, GET THE LOGANBERRY DRINK, trust me.

Good ordering system. It was crowded when I arrived at 6:00 on a Saturday night but the line moves fast enough that grilled items are perfectly done when you pay. Don’t do what I did and say “no fries” when first asked and then decide to add them when paying. They had some to give me but it probably messed up the good system they had going.

Saw that Ted’s was known in Buffalo for their legendary hot dogs so I stopped by one of them. It was absolutely slammed, the line was quite long, there were issues with one of the larger orders and everything just seemed backed up. I just ordered a Footlong with everything on it. I really like how the Hot Dogs are charred black and it’s crazy because the Hot Dog still had snap to it. This was a really good Hot Dog and the workers did great considering how everything was going.

The food is terrific. Best hot dogs anywhere. BUT some of the workers could do better. When I'm in Buffalo, I'll go to Ted's twice each day, and I'll go to different locations. They all seem to have the same issues, which is that some workers who cook the hot dogs know how to do it right, and others don't. I had one yesterday where one end of a hot dog was overcooked, and the other end was barely cooked. Besides the obvious lack of attention and knowledge about cooking hot dogs and hamburgers, there is a constantly occurring issue wherein some workers seem to spend more than half of their time talking to other workers and not paying attention to what's going on in terms of keeping things moving and cooking correctly. I ordered a hamburger with no cheese yesterday, but the person cooking was so busy looking everywhere else and talking to others and giving directions to other workers from the grill, that she put cheese on my burger, and then had to cook another burger to fix the problem, meanwhile the hot dogs I ordered were getting burnt on two-thirds, while the other end of each looked like it was barely cooked. A simple fix would be to position the hot dogs evenly over the place where the fire is occurring. And to pay attention to what they're doing. The last suggestion for fixing their issues is to have the workers just do their jobs, and stop trying to talk to each other while there are customers in line and while there are hot dogs being cooked. And specifically figure out why the worker at the grill (cooking the hot dogs) is never giving full and proper attention to cooking the hot dogs and hamburgers. Why is that worker at the grill always acting like they're running the whole show and talking to other workers and doing everything except focusing on doing the cooking?? By the way, I used to work there, so I know that its not difficult to do things right.

All of the meat here is charcoal grilled to perfection, from the hotdogs to the burgers. The restaurant has a bit of an old school of vibe with tons of Americana on the menu. My only gripe is that I wish the hotdogs were a bit thicker. Aside from that, the bacon and cheese hotdogs are on point here.

Western NY staple. All the food was classic on this visit and did not disappoint. New expanded menu is a bit much, but for char grilled hotdogs, homemade relish based hot sauce and perfectly flaky house made onion rings it still is the best.

We like to treat ourselves here once in awhile but my husband has complained how much smaller the bunz and sausage are now for the price. $30 for one hot dog, onion rings, drink and a milkshake not really worth it.

I don't like hot dogs but I really enjoyed this footlong paired with the split side of fries and onion rings. I preferred the fries to the onion rings topped off with the buffalo juice(not the correct name for the drink but it will do). The restaurant looks new but has an atmosphere of a quaint diner. The staff are immaculate, the experience was great. Will be back when I am in the Buffalo area.

Came here for lunch with my family for the first time. They ordered all beef hotdogs with fries which they enjoyed. I ordered the veggie hotdog and the impossible burger. The veggie hotdog was smaller than what I was expecting and the burger was good but I wish they would season it a bit. I realized after they use potato buns which I believe are not vegan. It’s a nice place to grab something to eat and enjoy some conversation. It isn’t any kind of haute cuisine but they sure do make some good burgers and hot dogs. The onion rings were good, and the hot sauce was great.

Went in during dinner time. Got through the line fairly quickly. The servers were friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was of an old fashioned hot dog and burger stand. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bratwurst was tasty. Footlong hot dog was okay but the chili was a little bland. Onion rings were a bit greasy. Milkshakes were amazing! They definitely bring all the boys to the yard. 🤣 I'd make another visit there just for the milkshakes ❤️

I was told about Ted's from a friend of mine. He listed Ted's as one of his top 3 spots in Buffalo. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the food. First off, they were friendly and super quick about everything. There were only a few people when we went there and so we basically walked right in and ordered within a couple minutes. Everything was made to order fresh on the grill. My bacon hotdog with a pickle spear might have been one of the best I have ordered in a long time. My son enjoyed his chilli cheese dogs, my wife and other son scarfed down their cheese burgers with lightning speed. If you haven't been this definitely needs to be a spot on your list when you're craving something simple from the grill. I am giving it a solid 4.5 stars!

I love the Sahlen's hot dogs and the charcoal grilling, the Texas Sauce, and the fries, but the last few times we have gone, the onion rings were in big clumps, with some undercooked batter inside. I know that the onion rings from Ted's were never really ring rings, and I love the thin crispy onion bits, but if you haven't been in a while and are expecting the old onion rings, just be prepared. The dining area was clean and enjoyable, and it was kind of neat to see the new digital menu boards. Sept 2024 update: Everything is still great at Ted's, though I think the size of a large order of fries is a bit smaller than it used to be. On the upside, I think the Texas Sauce is a little hotter.

Burger and impossible burgers were good. Milkshake was quite tasty. The fries are in different containers and a lot less now. They also tasted crisper/more overcooked than normal. The staff really needs to work on working together. Our milkshakes were made and finished, sitting to the side before our food was even cooked. Then our food and milkshakes were done before the fries were so just sat there too getting cold/melting. We also had to repeat our order to 3 people. It has also gotten super expensive. We paid over $47 for 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 2 shakes.

The food is definitely not what it was when I was a kid! Burgers are super thin but they still managed to undercook it. They poked the hell out of the chicken while it was cooking, not sure if they were just bored or had a personal grudge against juicy chicken.

The dogs were good, no issue there. I ordered a 'small' drink because often, in other fast food places, that's plenty. I received an 10oz. cup and with ice probably got 6 oz of soda! Not enough for my two hot dogs. I think for $1.89, they could give you the equivalent of a can of soda.

I have been eating at Teds for almost 20 years and worked there as an employee and a manager. The last two times one at Niagara falls Blvd and the next today at Sheridan drive, I have gotten food that was not warm on the inside. I ordered a Polish sausage cooked with BBQ sauce. The sausage was barely warm both times on the inside. Niagara falls blvd location burnt the outside so bad but still managed to not be warm even a little. Sheridan drive location just didn't let it cook long enough to heat up in the middle so it was cold. My wife had a hotdog and hers was still cold, not even warm. It wasnt even busy. I know from my experience working there, the cooks at both locations are cooking too fast not allowing it to cook in the center and or the fire is too hot. My second complaint is actually a health code violation. At the Niagara falls location the male employee had there front banged curled up and sticking out over there face while putting the topping on the food. The Sheridan drive location had and assistant manager dressing the food with their hair over the band and top front of the visor. The whole reason why they where hats or visors is to keep the hair inside the hat and keeping it out of your food. The assistant manager littler had half his hair over the visor not preventing it from getting on your food and even adjusted the visor multiple times while dressing the food for customers. The service was good and fries and onion rings were good. Everyone was farely friendly .

My husband and I went to Ted’s for lunch on a Sunday. We ordered a foot long hot dog a regular hot dog French fries onion rings a soda and a milk shake. When we got our food and took it back to the table the milkshake was not there as they had to scoop the ice cream by hand as something broke. They brought it out to him as we were finishing eating. The hotdogs were very tasteless and the French fries were not fresh. The onion rings were in a big blob and inedible along with the hair attached to them. Food was horrible for the amount charged. Just a very poor quality and run by someone who clearly didn’t know what she was doing. This supervisor came into the dining area and walked over French fries someone had dropped from their tray. She walked over them 3 times to tell another employee who was in the middle of changing garbage to sweep it up. She couldn’t do it herself and let them sit on the floor for another 15 minutes while the other employee was finishing the garbage. Never again will we spend our money on horrible food

I said hello to the cook, and he didn’t respond. 5 minutes went by, he didn’t take our order, he was clearly cooking a phone in order, and the only plan appears to be to have the people waiting in line, wait for phone in orders to be prepared. We left. We’ve always like Ted’s, but somebody needs to remove their heads from their keyster.

Never ate at this chain before. First time. Very disappointing. Service was terrible. Not even sure where to place an order and no one seemed to want to help us out. We ordered a hot dog and an Italian sausage, fries and onion rings. Really, no words. All of it was just terrible.

EVERY single time that Ted’s has tried to switch up their order system over the years, it’s a joke. Everyone here is frustrated, people’s order beepers going off but no food out, everyone standing in the condiment area because that’s where these geniuses decided to put the pick up window, and a hilarious joke for kiosk system. wait to ruin a good thing Teds…

The worst Ted's experience I've ever had. I waited in line for a good 35 minutes and the line was not very long. The guy dressing the burgers and dogs, Justin, could not keep the line moving. Burgers and hot dogs were piling up and by the time I reached the front I noticed my burger had been sitting on a bun for quite a while and was room temp at best by the time we ate. On top of that, they were allowing people who wanted gift cards to jump the line and I had to wait another 10 minutes while my food was on the tray getting colder as they waited on a woman who was purchasing multiple gift cards. They could have opened the other register for gift cards as there were employees available to cash out. I should have insisted on new food but there were so many people behind me who were also waiting and I didn't want to make them wait any longer. It won't happen again because I won't spend my money there any longer.
