An Artistic Taste is a hidden gem known for inventive, flavorful food and excellent service, especially from staff like Mia. Many rave about the unique dishes and cocktails. Some note inconsistent food quality, particularly with the oxtail.
Tip: Visit for lunch to potentially experience better service, or try the strawberry basil lemonade and Brussel sprouts.

Best Caribbean food!!! Our Hostess Alondra amazing!! The cocktails are amazing!!! Will definitely be going back very soon 😌 My drink below unfortunately I dont remember the name but WOW! Oxtail a must ❤️
It was a cold evening and seems like everyone in the town of Harriman knew the goto spot for good comfort food and atmosphere. The waitress was able to seat me at the bar where I had ample room to experience the Lobster Hush Puppies, Chicken Dumplings, Fire grilled octopus and Shrimp topped Penne. Every dish was delicious and scraped clean! My first visit but there'll definitely be more!
Just passing by and this was a great place to come by. Food was amazing even after driving an hour home and it was still great. Plus was that they had vegan options to choose.
AMAZING! Ordered a bunch of items to go and everything including all the sauces were absolutely delicious!! Will definitely be coming back, thank you!!
Two of us had fish tacos and a jerk chicken while the other two had vegetarian chickpeas and rice preparation and vegan dumplings. We also shared a banana bread dessert. Every item was good the rice with the jerk chicken was also nice. The dessert was beautiful but I felt the quantity was a bit on the smaller side. Would have preferred if it was just 50% more.
Sure! Here’s a polished and positive Google review for a great restaurant: ⸻ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic experience at Artistic Taste! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The owner and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome right away. Now, let’s talk about the food—wow! Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. We tried the Lobster Hush Puppies Platter and Paccheri Alla Vodka, it was hands down one of the best we’ve ever had. The ingredients were fresh, and you could tell a lot of care went into the preparation. The service was prompt, Andre the chief/ business owner came out to the dining area to say hello to our group, he also offered us a free dessert The staff were knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The ambiance was perfect for a cozy dinner or a special celebration. If you’re looking for a top-notch dining experience, Artistic Taste is a must-visit. We can’t wait to come back.
My wife and I came up from Brooklyn for a few days. We seen this place on line. I must say they CAN cook. The OX tail tasted just like we have in Brooklyn. My wife had the surf n turf rice, VERY good. The only thing I missed was the cooked cabbage n plantain on side, if u go you will be happy.
Amazinggggg!! Omg don’t second guess , just go!! Destiny was amazing ! Great service, great food , prices are great , everything about the experience down to the music playlist was amazing!!! I will be returning . Visit @ LusciousBree_ on the gram for more pictures and reviews… Only con : she was alittle stingy with the naps , gave me literally 2 napkins for 2 appetizers and 2 entrees . Not including the two on the table….
Looking from the outside in I wasn't expecting too much, just a random place on my drive back to nyc. The shawarma and risotto tater tots are so good . Highly recommend. The octopus was also very good, not rubbery at all. I didn't care that much for the rib eye tacos. Alondra waited on my party and she really put the cherry on top as far as how personable and welcoming she was. The pictured banana bread was very good too although I didn't care too much for the tahitian vanilla ice cream/gelato, I think I would have preferred a pairing of a vanilla bean flavor. I would take a detour on another drive just to come back for those tater tots.
Originally from NYC, we moved up to Orange County about 2 years ago. The food scene around here sucks, all chain food garbage. A friend recommended AAT. Decided to try it today (quick birthday lunch for my daughter) so happy my friend didn’t gate keep. Everything on the menu sounded tasty. Couldn’t narrow down our selection so we just about ordered the entire menu. Everything was delicious! No misses. No disappointments. 10/10 The server, Destiny was great! Amazing food, great server- we will be back.
My God! Whoever the chef is…you are genius! The food was delicious. We are blown away with the quality of food, the way it’s served, the deliciousness of the sauces! I had a fish special - red snapper - it was fresh, tender in a curry sauce - SO GOOD! my friend had an octopus and she loved it! The way it is served on a plate - a piece of art! Lavender ginger lemonade was a bomb! Normally whenever I get gingery things they are not spicy enough, but this one will give you a nice kick! Not too sweet! Walnut apple pie was a great finishing of our supper! Highly recommend! Truly a hidden jam!
Easily one of my favorites! I had whole grilled Sea Bass and my wife had Ox Tail, both were outstanding as well as the Lobster Bites and Short Rib taco appetizers...so so good. Almost forgot to mention the Black Pepper Thai Basil Martini it was 👌
Outstanding food! Everything was amazingly delicious! My wife and I had the brussel sprouts, plantains, Chicken sandwich and surf and turf fried rice. What an incredible meal! We look forward to going back! I had read reviews saying all.of the food was excellent and it certainly was! We will probably try all different food next time to sample more delicious flavors. Each dish had many layers of flavor and deliciousness!
One of the better meals we’ve had. We live on Long Island and were meeting with some family members from Albany at Woodbury Commons for the morning. We found this place using Google maps and liked the how menu looked. Reality exceeded our expectations and we will definitely make a point of coming back next time we’re close by.
I was tempted to keep this one to myself . . . The food is that delicious! It was such a pleasant surprise and an amazing find to have lunch here during a recent day trip from NYC to the outlets. The whole branzino, the oxtail, the rice and peas . . . Even the wings!?! Everything was perfectly prepared.
The food was so good. Surprised at the flavor bomb brought out by every dish. The best plantain ever had, a must order. And the jerk chicken dish was plated so elegantly. As long term foodie, I think the jerk chicken was a bit on dry side, and the sauce for chicken sandwich was a little too sweet. But rest assured, it’s the best restaurant if you’re visiting Woodbury, and definitely a memorable meal!
Must stop location. I came here by myself today and was blown away by the neat decor, delicious food, and the environmentally friendly paper straws! I had the beet and goat cheese ravioli, jerk chicken and plantains. Every bite was perfect and the portion size will fill you up! If you like good food, this is your place.
Delicious! The lobster hush puppies had a really unique flavor and the sauces were amazing. Chicken shawarma had a ton of chicken and was fabulous. I loved the different lemonade flavors.
One of the best meals on my week long trip to NYC. Did not expect to find this gem near Woodbury Commons after shopping. A surprise find! Don’t hesitate to skip all the chain restaurants and look up An Artistic Taste. Highly recommended. The best oxtail and rice ‘n beans I have ever had. Add in a perfectly made Thai sea bass. Great touch to debone it. This chef has skills!
Between the chill atmosphere, nice staff, and the amazing food I definitely will be coming back. This is a fairly new establishment so they had a limited menu. I came with a group of 5 and we ordered all of the small dishes (will attach menu) and all were amazing. The top 3 for us were the Brussel sprouts, chicken buns and sliders. For drinks I tried the sangria and lavender refresher and both were delicious. For main course I had the jerk chicken and it was the perfect blend of hint of spice and juicy. Definitely reccomend!
Fine dining in Harriman? Potentially. Cozy restaurant with a diverse menu. The highlight of our meal were the delicious plátanos we shared as an appetizer. The AAT burger was good, and we also enjoyed the AAT chicken sandwich. The lavender, ginger lemonade as well as the South African Cabernet were very good. The service was attentive, but here also lies the biggest opportunity, silverware should be replaced between courses, the waitress took our dirty knife and fork from the appetizer plates and put them on the table. Water should be refilled without asking. Small details will really elevate this to a true dining experience.
Stopped by early on Valentine’s Day for a outting & we were bragging to family all day ! You can tell the chef takes pride in taste , presentation & readiness of the dishes , the wings were delicious, oxtails falling off the bone & all our sides were amazing .customer service was pleasant & all dish wear were clean we give this restaurant 10/10 we will be returning! Thank you for the experience
Always amazing! It is obvious how much passion and care is put into every dish on the menu. It's hard not to continue ordering my favorites, but I do try to get something new off the menu each time.
If you want some great authentic gourmet quality food come to artistic taste, the oxtail, lobster 🦞 macoroni and cheese was official, also the wings , and short rib tacos where so good , I would definitely come back again.
The food was out of this world but they really need to do something about service. There is only 1 waitress and she works her tail off but you could wait over 20 mins for a drink. Seems to be the consensus, not sure why they wouldn't hire more people 🤔. We had the octopus and chicken n waffles, it was really delicious!
This spot it so cute! The food was reasonably priced. It was almost like Caribbean fusion which I appreciated. We had lobster hush puppies and a couple different entrees. Would visit again
An absolute gem of a place! If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and swing by to treat your self. The menu is packed with unique dishes you wouldn’t find in other local establishments. The flavors will intrigue your tastebuds and your Instagram feed will thank you for the absolutely eye popping food pics! Make sure to try the grilled octopus, truffle risotto tater tots and their apricot ginger lemonade! The Jerk Chicken dish that was being consumed next to us also looked absolutely delicious. A+ for the presentation, A+ for the flavor and A+ for the city quality in a far, far away land of Harriman.
If you're looking for a restaurant to try in Hudson Valley, NY, An Artistic Taste needs to be at the top of your list! 100% my favorite and go-to restaurant for all occasions! Their food is truly art! Not only on the plate, but the way the servers bring the food to the table and present it is absolutely amazing! I've never had any bad meal here and have never had any bad customer service experience. I confidently recommend this place to everyone I know all the time, and I now recommend it 100% to anyone reading this review. I only gave it 4.5 stars because I wish their location was a little bit bigger/more spacious. But it is not cramped nor crowded at all. My guests and I are always comfortable, even when the restaurant is packed. And since they've now opened a location in Newburgh, NY, I suppose they did make more space lol.
The food was delectable, the atmosphere very comfortably energetic and the service was top shelf. I HIGHLY recommend THE ARTISTIC TASTE.
Just googled find a place after a hike in the Bear Mountains, and this came up was one of the better rated. Turned out to be absolute top drawer meal that would have stood out even for a Manhattan restaurant, leave alone in small town where viability of such a restaurant itself surprising. We had a chagrilled octopus, papardelle with smoked tomato sauce and an Indian inspired coconut curry chickpeas - all were flawless..
Placed an order to go. It was ready exactly on time. Food was delicious. Oxtail was on point and not oily. My husband loved the jerk chicken .. spicy. Sorrel chicken wings delicious. Can’t wait to try more dishes. Drove 25 minutes to get this food.
This place is a hidden gem! We're visiting the Woodbury common outlets and looking for a restaurant nearby. This restaurant caught my eye because it was a Caribbean restaurant with a fine dining influence. We arrived to a small strip mall area which is reminiscent of a lot of smaller Jamaican restaurants however the decorations were tastefully done giving it an upscale feel. The food was fantastic! They offered a unique twist on many classic dishes Caribbean dishes. Even the plantains were dressed up with sauce and spices. The service was fine as the restaurant was fairly empty when we visited at 2:00 in the afternoon. They had one server working but it may be okay when it gets busier considering they have limited seating. I will go out of my way to eat here as often as possible every time I travel to New York. I highly recommend!
The food is astoundingly phenomenal. Not a single dish can disappoint. We drive an hour and a half up from jersey JUST for the plantains. Please never take it off the menu! Service is wonderful too. The chicken and corn pancake is amazing, so are the burgers and the chicken sandwich.
Super cute restaurant! I definitely will be back! Destiny our waitress was super sweet and helpful... she was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. For starters we ordered the octopus and the crispy chicken buns.. everything was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. For the main course we ordered the jerk chicken and rice and peas (with a hint of coconut) and cabbage.. there was a lil gravy too that paired so well.. my hunny ordered the lobster Mac n cheese with truffle.. MMMM MM M! The drinks were strong and yummy.. oh and we got a side of sweet plantains too... I’d highly recommend this place!
I’m not from this area just passing through shopping at Woodbury common and looked up Caribbean food and Stumbled across this restaurant. This was a great choice The food was a 10/10 we ordered the surf and turf fried rice and a jerk chicken dinner both were delicious and it was take out we will definitely be back whenever we come to shopping or passing through to go to NYC
This is my freakin spot when I have the time. I always get the burger that’s just me. Everything is worth a try. My friend had the curry chickpea and that was muahhh 🔥. Everything is a winner and the portions are grand. Try their short rib tacos and signature cocktails ** Edit. Came back this time the lobster Mac is the banger. Lots of lobster and cheese flavors. If you want a cheese pull then go with this. Filling and plentiful Check me out IG:chef_raymond_ You will see I know about food and this place knows their food and the chef there is spectacular.
A truly pleasant experience from start to finish. The food was extremely flavorful and perfectly seasoned, with 'excellent' presentation to match. To top it off, the staff was great—attentive and welcoming. Highly recommended!
This was such an unexpected find for us, as we were driving from Baltimore to Saratoga and needed a dinner break. Kudos to the Chef Andre Robinson for amazing cuisine! The service was top notch, and we enjoyed dining al fresco. Shown: Brussels Sprouts, Vegan Dumplings, Surf Turf Fried Rice.
Found a Gem. Stumbled across An Artistic Taste to eat out for my birthday. Total home run, place inside is small and I would call ahead to get a table reserved. The food was on point, and reading through the menu was refreshing, to see items from all ends of the spectrum. Plating and taste was fantastic and we have been back 2 times since. That mint refresher was so good. We will be back
Highly recommend to check out this restaurant if you are in the area. The food is comparable to any top restaurant in NYC. Came here for dinner with some friends after apple picking and they had outdoor seating and indoor. Reservations are definitely recommended not a lot of seating due to Covid, felt safe. They got great drinks too.
We picked up food from here when dining in wasn't an option and didn't like it very much. Since the reviews were good we decided to give it another try eating there and the food was fantastic! My favorites were the prime rib sliders and brussel sprouts. The plantains were also good. The ramen soup and jerk chicken were delicious, but be aware that both are a little spicy. Throughout the meal the service was good and both our server and the general manager were friendly. I am not sure if the creme brulee was good because all the taste was overshadowed by a strong chemical smell when they suddenly turned all the lights to full brightness and began cleaning the vacant tables nearby. The server had earlier apologized that our entrees were taking a bit longer, but never mentioned closing time. Admittedly, we did wait a bit into our starters before ordering dinner, but she also forgot to place the order with the kitchen, so it was her fault as much as ours. She also failed to mention closing time when we placed an order for dessert. Instead, just as they brought our dessert they also started cleaning and we rushed to get out of their way but also away from the smell. I guess we could have checked the closing time when we walked in, but I would have never guessed a restaurant would close at 9PM on a Saturday night. We will still return because the food was so good, but in my opinion it would have been much better to have mentioned the closing time either when our entrees were running late or at least when we ordered dessert. I would have gladly skipped dessert rather than to be forced out like it was a bar at 4AM trying to get rid of drunk stragglers.
This place may be small in size but it's large on flavor! From the amazing brussel sprouts with mint yogurt and fig jam to the perfectly seared salmon, everything was amazing. My husband and I like to try new places that we've never been to each week and we're both in love with An Artistic Touch. Time for a bigger space, we all want more!
Food was 10/10, went back in August after a camping trip. The chicken shawarma might’ve been the best thing I’ve ever had. I wish I had the recipe to try and make at home, sadly live 2 hours away. Staff was attentive and courteous. The space is not too big so it feels very welcoming. Will definitely be returning next year after the annual trip.
Glad to have this artistic addition in town. Very cool layout. Great service. Great place for lunch, dinner and drinks. We had the burgers, best corn and tater tots. The food was perfectly prepared, tasted beyond amazing, and had perfect portions. Drinks were amazing. We will definately be back.
Always amazing! It's a little cramped and the service, while being exceptional, can get overwhelmed but the food is ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! No tiny portions, no food that is gimmicky for the sake of the gimmick, everything is so well thought out and executed. Absolutely my favorite spot. Recommendations: The brussel sprouts (I hate yogurt but still love these) and the wings.
If they can put out food like this...then what are the rest of these upstate hick restaurants doing?! There is no excuse for laziness and cutting corners! Artistic Taste is setting the expectation bar that other eateries should be striving to match. Food, drinks, venue and service were all 6 out of 5 stars! OMG...actual flavor in the food!!!
The food is AMAZING! The brussel sprouts are probably the best thing I've ever eaten. I didn't take a pic because we devoured them before I could. The rest of our meal was also delicious. It's small but perfect because the restaurant flowed really well. I did feel for the one server on a Saturday night. They could use one person up at the bar area to free up a server for the floor, but overall, a great experience and amazing food!
It was my fist time dining at the restaurant, and I could not be more impressed! The ambiance was lovely, the staff was very attentive and super friendly, and the food was DELICIOUS. We had apps, dinner, and dessert, and not one thing disappointed!!! I am already excited about my next visit, which will definitely be really soon. Highly highly highly recommend this establishment!
I order frequently from AAT and they CONSISTENTLY make the BEST catering food ever! My guests always ask where did I get this delicious mix, and I happily tell them to patronize Andre's amazing small business and his fantastic, super nice staff as much as possible! Run, don't walk, to AAT in either Harriman or Newburgh for the best Caribbean fusion food comparable to NYC and beyond! Highly recommend!!
Last time I went the oxtail which is my favorite been eating there for years was to salty. I think the browning process has made it salty. I bought a tray of it I was so excited but I could not eat it. Maybe he has a new chef assistant . May have to try it at the harrimon location. But the the all the other times I had it in Newburgh it was good. The last two times it was super salty.. love this place never had a bad meal until recent. Still going to go though. It’s delicious
Great experience over all. Was recommended by a friend to check it out and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Great, delicious well seasoned food. We had the Parmesan fries, wagyu tacos, baccalao and red snapper. All of the dishes were 10/10 amazing. And the service was great too! Attentive yet not overbearing. We stood for a bit after eating all that food talking and digesting without feeling rushed. Great music and comforting atmosphere. 10 out of 10 definitely do recommend!
An experience worth having. After several years of passing this restaurant, we finally decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was cozy, the music soft and relaxing, the staff, although very young, was friendly and professional. We were welcomed with a smile. The menu had a nice variety of options. We ordered the codfish tacos, plantains, and burger (which came with amazing crisp- not too salty-fries). The presentation of food was pleasing and the mixture of herbs and spices used to season the food was amazing. Very different from your typical restaurant. My only regret is not having enough room to try their desserts, which are made on premise. I will definitely be going back and recommend, especially if you have that special someone you want to take for a nice dinner. Well Done to the staff and management!
This might be the best restaurant I've eaten at in a long time. It's rare that every single dish is mind-blowing, but they've managed it here. The food quality is exceptionally high, yet the prices are incredibly fair. The chef is Jamaican, and his unique twist on classic dishes is truly phenomenal. I highly recommend ordering a bunch of the appetizers—every single one we tried was fantastic. If you're worried about Caribbean spice, don't be! I'm not a fan of spicy food myself, and everything was perfectly seasoned to my liking. This place is a real gem.
If you're in the area, this is a great local spot to try out! It's unassuming from the outside with minimal decor on the inside, but it's clean and spacious enough for couples, individuals, and families to enjoy a meal. We had their AAT kale salad and their special of the night Madagascar Shrimp, which had a nice kick of spice to it. They have a good selection of drinks as well as delicious lemonade flavors. They do close at 8pm, so be mindful of that. Dishes were tasteful and flavorful!!
I truly enjoyed my dining experience here. I came to visit after shopping at Woodbury Commons. The food was absolutely delicious. We got the steak tacos as an appetizer; salmon and jerk chicken entree. The salmon skin was crispy, everything was seasoned to perfection. Definitely will be my go to when in town.
A hometown feel with a FIVE star taste!! We were looking for fine dining while visiting Harriman, NY. We stumbled upon An Artistic Taste, and it is TRULY a hidden gem. Mia was absolutely fantastic and provided outstanding service. Hats off to the chef!!! Amazing!!! Our meals were exquisite and cooked to perfection. It is clear that the chef has a clear vision of providing a unique menu that delivers on taste, quality, and diversity - the presentation seals the deal. Of course, the bartender did not disappoint with drinks. Again, it's a unique menu that leaves you wanting to try more. This is definitely our go-to spot when we return.
Stumbled upon this on Google Maps after shopping Woodbury commons all day. Started with the lemonade - strawberry basil, so yummy and refreshing, not overly sweet at all. Brussel sprouts were 🤤insanely good. Ordered the salmon- huge portion, also delish. Highly recommend. Staff was super nice. Would have loved to try dessert but was too stuffed! Highly recommend
Amazing food as it has always been. This is our 3rd visit. The jerk chicken and Brussel sprouts were outstanding. The basil pepper martini was delicious. The caramelized banana cake was good too. The difference this time was outstanding service. Maybe lunch is a better time to come.
My friend and I were first time customers this week. The service was friendly and welcoming. The food and desserts were outstanding! The lobster Mac and cheese was to die for! The guacamole was so darn good, I even ordered some to go. The menu offered an excellent selection of foods- I will definitely return! I texted many of my friends and colleagues to tell them about my experience here. You will not be disappointed! We were able to meet the owner as well.
By far THEE best food I’ve had in Orange County and they’re on my all time tops list! ELEVATED food that feeds all the senses. From the presentation, to the aromas, and of course…the tastes! The cocktails were amazing and you will be surprised by their artful takes on them. The service was top tier as they explained the specials perfectly and answered all questions about some of the items in the menu….which I plan on trying in its entirety! Kudos to the chef!!! If you plan on going with a large group obviously call ahead. We had a party of 12 but they were able to accommodate! Thank you so much! Everyone and I mean from the youngest children to the oldest adult in our group was blown away by the tastes!!! Just an FYI THE Grilled octopus was a game changer! This will be our families main spot moving forward!
The flavors and selections here are amazing. The drinks, although high for the area, were amazing. For an appetizer, we tried the wings, and they had a mix of very unique flavors that had a little kick but absolutely not too spicy. We, in retrospect, probably should have just shared a few appetizers. They were all so appealing and very well portioned. Every plate that came out looked and smelled delicious. Everything I could see was fresh, and from what I have heard, the menu changes pretty regularly. One small complaint would be the pricing of the special my wife ordered. It was a stuffed fish dish that was delicious but priced about $15 more than any other entree on the menu. I will definitely be going back for more drinks and appetizers. I will also make sure I save room for dessert as that menu looked awesome as well.
Pleasantly surprised w/ how good the food was—tried the paella, steak and eggs, and octopus. All of them were quite tasty, though a bit too salty for me and my family. The server was friendly but a bit on the slower end. Unclear if there were some issues w/ the AC today but it was quite hot inside.
A jack of all trades, master of none. While the dishes were generally tasty, locals will likely notice the flaws. The plantains were undercooked, the dumplings slightly doughy, and the fries missed the crunch The service was lacking, let’s forget the slow cooking. We had to ask twice for water and our waitress never heard an item we ordered. They were nice people but definitely amateur service
I visited Storm King and looked for a place near Woodbury Commons for brunch and found this gem. We were starving and this place fed our appetite. Food was UNREAL, everything was cooked perfectly. Our server was very sweet. I’d give it 5 stars but it’s missing better coffee options for a Saturday brunch. It’s also Jamaican — happy to support a Black-owned business.
This place was recommended by a good friend of mine and she was absolutely on the money! The food was AMAZING! the service was wonderful everyone was so nice and attentive. Seasoning was just perfect not too heavy not too light and authentic Jamaican flavors (taste palette reference I’m also from the Caribbean). Only reason it’s not a 5 star is because we were a bit cramp, we were seated by the door it was not horrible nor did it take away from the experience but if it was bit more spacious it would have been a lot more comfortable at least from from where we were seated. Will def be back.
Extremely disappointed. This restaurant can't be given more than 2 stars because of the over salty food they served. However, I am giving 3 because the cocktail was perfect. Coming to the appetizer, I have to say that it was almost impossible to eat the chicken dumplings as it tasted of nothing but salt. For main course, I took the special of the day. It was a snapper curry which was also similarly salty although the jasmine rice was nice and fish tasted very fresh and perfectly seasoned. Lastly, the banana bread for dessert was dreadful. It was extremely hard to chew but the ice cream saved it. Overall, the prices are way too high for the quality of food and slow service they provided.
*Over Priced* *Delicious Beautifully Crafted Food* *Slow Service* *Doesn't pay attention to detail* Service was the only negative experience here, we asked for the burger to be cut in half and for ketchup, it took at least 10mins for them to take the burger back to cut it and about 20mins for a tiny little thing of ketchup for two order of fries. We will probably not be returning to this location due to the lack of not paying attention to details, however the food is really good and the atmosphere is really cute.
The food is delicious. My friend had the jerk chicken which I tried and I had the special- crab stuffed Branzino with a yellow curry and coconut rice. We shared the Brussels appetizer. I forget the name of the drink I had but the was fabulously concocted and went down smooth. Sorry I didn’t get a picture of the Brussel spouts before we started eating. Unfortunately they charged $50 for Branzino dinner. I didn’t look at the bill closely but looked at in my email the next day. If I had known that I never would have ordered it. That is way overpriced no matter how good it it was.
My husband and I chose this restaurant for dinner after hearing positive reviews for several years. I am giving a 2-star rating because the salmon was well prepared; however, the rest of the experience was disappointing. The surf and turf fried rice was served without the fried egg and scallions that appear in all the menu photos. The chicken dumplings arrived borderline cold. When the server brought the wings, dumplings, and a share plate, the table was so small she had to move my drink to the opposite side, and the share plate was hanging several inches off the edge. It made for an uncomfortable dining setup. We dine out frequently, and this was one of the most uncomfortable experiences we’ve had in some time. The staff, including servers and the bartender, appeared very laid back, almost as if it were a casual hangout rather than a restaurant focused on service. After our entrées were delivered, no one checked on us. We finished eating and waited quite a while without anyone clearing our plates, offering a box, or presenting a dessert menu. My husband eventually had to ask for the check. I remarked to him that perhaps we should have tried their new location, as the service might have been better there. I must say I was very disappointed!
I have been to Artistic Taste several times. I do have to say that the quality of the food has gone down since the new location opened in Newburgh. I have not been to the Newburgh location yet, I still have to try it. However, I have noticed a decline in the quality of the food over the past few months. I usually got the Fried Chicken Sandwich, but the last 2 times I got it, it was substandard. I wasn’t going to go again, but I didn’t want to cook tonight. So I got a to-go order. I just ordered appetizers for myself, and my daughter ordered the Jerk Chicken like she usually does. The appetizers were okay, I’ve had better when I’ve eaten at the restaurant. BUT!!! My daughter’s Jerk Chicken had someone’s hair in it. I called right away, and fortunately we live close to the restaurant. She took it back and was given a full refund. So now, I definitely will not be going back to this location here in Harriman, and will have to think whether I want to go to the Newburgh location. I do have to say again, that the Harriman location has gone down in the quality of the food since the new location opened. This is a shame. Very disappointed.
🙅🏽♀️ Food was TERRIBLE. Now hear me out, I’m only giving two stars because, ONE, the server was alright and,TWO, appetizer chicken bun was delicious (and the lemonade was amazing as well) Other than that. Everything else was DISGUSTING. I constantly eat Jamaican food and fusion foods so I had very high expectations for this restaurant. Was very excited to eat my meal but as soon as I took a bite out of my jerk chicken entree, I knew it was almost inedible because of how SPICY it was. It also tasted funny, MIND YOU, this is coming from a girl who constantly eats spicy food. I could not enjoy eating my rice because it was too spicy. We ordered a side of mac & cheese, and the cheese tasted very bad. We also ordered a side of broccolini, and please explain why it tasted like wet, dirty sweaty socks. I love broccolini, and this was the first time that I’ve ever had such a disgusting broccolini, it honestly ruined it for me. Wanna know what’s the worst part? The server came to ask if everything was OK and I told her that my food tasted bad and it was too spicy, I could barely eat it , and all she said was “okay 🧍🏽♀️. Do you want water? 🤨🚰” And the water was WARM😂😂 what the hell?!?! Not even a free dessert or apology for the inconvenience. I left the restaurant still STARVING. DO NOT waste your time coming here, food was mediocre.😒
Didn’t have the experience everyone else did. Woman at the Counter was not friendly at all. Placed my order and she didn’t want me nor my family sitting inside to wait for the food so she moved us. When paying she just gave me the bill, no thank you or have a nice day and walked away. The food was pretty look at that’s pretty much it. Lobster Mac had way too much black pepper. And the sliders were super salty! My tongue was hurting after this meal. All this for $39?? Smh 🤦♀️

# An Artistic Taste: Descubriendo el Corazón Cultural y Culinario de Town of Monroe
