I love In-N-Out, its my favorite burger spot hands down. The ONLY negative thing i have to say is that you're definitely going to wait in line to order your food. Its ALWAYS got a long line of cars in the drive-through. But hey its the best burger joint in town so whatdya expect!!!

Always a super great atmosphere. Everyone is nice with you and the food is great. I hate fast food but these place make their food really really good. I always order the protein style cheeseburger and it’s always a hit.

The drive through line can be pretty long at this location, like many in-n-outs, so I typically park and order inside. The staff is friendly, the facilities are clean, and the condiments/napkins are always stocked. The fact that it is by so many other stores I already go to also makes it a convenient location for deferring traffic while running errands.

Just had surgery, unable to walk. Leslie noticed this and unexpectedly brought my food to my table. Im grateful there are still kind people left in this world.

Gotta give a shoutout to an employee named Juan. He was cleaning one of the booths when we got there and he was SO courteous and kind. It made me feel like I was really sitting down in a 50s diner where everyone knows your name. Juan you made a difference in our experience! Burger itself was amazing ! Double double extra everything - to die for ! Oh also Jasveen was very friendly at the register.

Kudos for Customer Experience!! The guy who took the order in the drive through was simply awesome and he was so humble and patient to take my daughters orders and was suggesting some kids menu to her. My daughter explicitly said that she liked that uncle. Even in the counter they gave the activity pack for my daughter without asking.. I tasted the double burger for the first time and it was so good, every one in my family liked the burgers they ordered. Good taste.

Good burgers and the servers are always super nice even when asking for custom orders and they have a line. Can get noisy inside and seats are a premium at peak times. Also true of parking in their lot. But if you go off hours, it’s pretty low key activity noise.

The staff at In-N-Out in Fremont were polite and friendly. The wait time was approximately seven minutes (it is still fast-food). Despite being fast-food, the food was delicious. Atmosphere is 4/5 because it IS fast-food. This is not a high end sit down restaurant. The things that matter were all well handled: it was clean, well maintained, and didn't smell.

As a professional driver who used to live in Vegas, the one thing that I always loved was the exclusivity of In-N-Out.. hands down you just can't find the same attention to detail quality of ingredients and general classic Americana vibes like you do with in and out.. just always make sure, that you asked the manager on duty for a promotional Double-Double, and you're pretty much guaranteed to get something that would look and taste like you just pulled it out of one of their commercials.. can't wait to see you guys in Kansas City!!!

I really enjoy having the burger and fries at In-N-Out which are really delicious. Especially, this Union City’s In-N-Out Burger’s staff have a great hospitality to customers. I usually wait for 20 - 30 minutes to pick up burgers and fries on drive through but it is no problem to wait the line since all staff are so friendly and kind.

This place is always busy, so you know you'll always have fresh food. They're fast too.

Love it here, today I made an ordering mistake and was able to order at pickup. My cheeseburger got lost in the ocean of tickets they had tonight. I totally understand as a service worker myself and the staff really went out of their way to better my experience. In n Out is truly a fast food place I am willing to go through the drive thru line for every time. You truly get a quality meal at a competitive price. Wish there was a better layout for the parking lot or some kind of expansion. It gets really packed here.

We took my brother to the Union City In-N-Out Burger, because he had never experienced in-N-out Burger. As with the In-N-Out Burger places I visit frequently in San Diego, this one was clean , very busy and the crew was of the same excellence that they hire within their system. And the burger was excellent as always.

The staff at this location are so friendly! Ayush, who took our order, was quick and detailed. And Les, who gave us our order was so polite and upbeat. They even wrote on our box which each French fries were which. So thoughtful. Definitely will be returning and highly recommend.

The best part of this place is their hidden menu items especially the animal style. I got the Roadkill fries. If your In-N-out don’t know what that is. Just get Animal style fries add beef patty extra In-N-Out spread. Then you crumble up that beef batty on top your fries add a little bit of spread and boom roadkill fries

Best inexpensive burger - ever! Always cooked and served fresh. Every order can be customised according to what you want. Staff is friendly and quick. All chains I’ve been are consistent with everything and clean. Would not eat any other burger but In N Out burgers. Hours are longer than most burger joints.

I have never been to an in n out that is so productive and fast. I went with a group of children for work, about half of them ordered including us workers. So about 25 people ordered. We got there at 2:40pm and every single one of us got our food before 3pm. Excellent service. They also gave us stickers to hand out to the kids. If i could give more than 5 stars i would. Best in n out ive been to.

Great food and easily noticeable. Their double double burger really good, one of the best I have ever had and their animal fries are a must have. Be ready to wait though, whether you are using the drive through or ordering inside. But the service quality and speed with which they complete the order under always busy conditions is why I am giving them 5 stars. Plus they never messed up my order which I have experienced in other fast food places. All in all, great burgers, fries and highly recommended.

This is the best In-N-Out Burger place I've ever tried. We always go back to this same place for a Burger. Thier service is really good as usual and their burgers at this point are on point perfect. My favorite fastfood in California. Their fresh potato fries is so addicting. Its never frozen and you can taste its pure freshness since they use sunflower oil in frying it. It can get crowded and at night the drive through line is huge (I've taken 40 minutes at peak night hours). If you're going to make an effort to write a perfect, scientific fast-food burger review, you have to establish your testing criteria, so let's start by clarifying the "fast food burger" category. Customers can identify a fast food restaurant by the inclusion of one primary feature, a drive-thru. That means Five Guys, Smash Burger, and Shake Shack aren't in the running for this one. In-N-Out, as a regional fast food burger spot, is really up against Wendy's, McDonald's, Burger King, etc., so before going h.a.m. on this review make sure to keep that in mind. When any burger chain decides to enter the California market they fear one thing, competing against In-n-Out. There are a lot of other regional burger joints that are top notch, and having eaten at Whataburger, Sonic, White Castle, etc., I'm giving In-N-Out Burger the crown based on the following criteria: food quality, atmosphere, environmental impact, and employee satisfaction. The good news is salt and ketchup are available for customers to season to taste, but if you're not really putting in the effort this is the only area where the food may fall short of expectations. Atmosphere - I don't think I've ever seen a messy In-N-Out burger. Let that settle in... Think about the cleanliness of other fast food burger joints and consider if you can say the same. That should clinch this category by itself, but just like the golden arches are a staple of McDonald's, palm trees, outdoor seating, and efficient disposal stations ring true at every In-N-Out. Environment Impact - Everything from utensils, trays, ketchup cups, and salt packets are designed with sustainability in mind. The use of compostables materials makes sorting the meal's aftermath easy. Anything with food scraps is compostable and everything else reusable. Other restaurants aren't even close. Employee Satisfaction - With all the talk surrounding inflation, it should come as a surprise that the average meal is $3 less than any other fast food burger joint. With that in mind, the starting wage at In-N-Out is $21.50/hr, shaming places like Tesla (shame on you), retailers, and just about every other entry level job. Employers used to use "flipping burgers" as the ultimate insult, but now people with Master's degrees barely make more. Think about that... Conclusion - Given the current economy, comparative restaurants, and overall food quality, it's hard to even put other fast food places in the same ballpark. Hands down the best, prove me wrong.

I always go for a Double-Double add chopped chillies with extra spread, and it’s perfection. The Union City In-N-Out gets really busy, but the food quality is consistently great. It’s definitely my go-to spot, and I’d highly recommend it. If you’re planning to visit, I suggest walking in to order your food rather than using the drive-thru—it tends to move faster. Just keep in mind that this location can get pretty crowded, so seating may be limited at peak times. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

I stopped by this In-N-Out in Hayward with my wife for dinner after picking something up nearby. Although I usually go to the San Carlos location, this was my first time visiting this particular store—and I was genuinely impressed. The burgers here were noticeably better than what I’ve had in San Carlos. They were fresh, well-balanced, and just hit the spot in a way that surprised me. The portion of French fries was also generous, which isn’t always the case at other locations. Another detail that stood out was the ketchup station—it looked new or at least very well-maintained, which added to the clean and organized feel of the whole restaurant. Overall, this location exceeded my expectations. If I find myself in the Hayward area again, I’d definitely come back. Solid experience all around.

I'm not gonna lie, the homie at the register could not for the life of him understand what exactly I was asking for with my order. Now it was crazy busy and I'm sure his brain was a little overloaded and exhausted at this point so I guess I'll give him that.. so after about ten mins of going back and forth with him and restarting the order three times, I just "ok man I think you got"! Even though I knew that it wasn't gonna be right. Once they called my number, just as I expected, my order was indeed wrong. But it was no biggie, told the dude who had called my number wut was up and within a few minutes he got me everything I needed. So aside from that, which really wasn't a big deal, I'm just giving a review of my experience at this in-n-out, The food was 🔥 as always and for how busy they were, my order was actually ready pretty quickly! It’s our usual go to burger joint, especially for late night grabs, as it’s open till 1 AM. The quality has been pretty consistent, and I love the fact that they have those “secret” options, where I found the ‘Protein burger’, which eliminates the bun and replaces with lettuce. We also enjoy their Animal fries, a little heavy, but a nice indulgence once in a while 😉. Their shakes are also damn good, our usual are strawberry and vanilla. And to top it off, the price point is great, which is a win-win.

Eh, just another burger fast food place. I'd like to see some more variety on the menu. Their milkshakes are really good though. I was here for an early dinner and went through their drive thru and after a long wait, my order was taken by a lady. I was happy to enjoy an animal style hamburger with fries and pink lemonade. There's always a long wait whether you drive thru or walk into the restaurant. They are well known for their awesome burgers.

First time eating here, being from the East Coast I have often heard of the legendary In and Out Burger. Burger was great - toppings were crisp, the burger meat wasn't greasy, and despite the sauce the burger wasn't a mess. Fries were crisp and good, not the best I've ever had but good. Glad I traveled 2500 miles to check off the old bucket list.

Very messy takeout experience: my drink was spilled and cup was leaking, while the sandwich was drenched in their sauce.

I didn't have high expectations, the burgers are not bad for the price point. The fries were soggy today and lacked salt. The burgers were a bit bland as well. Other than that i can't complain.

I usually like In-N-Out, but today’s experience was pretty disappointing. I waited at the pickup window for about five minutes, and during that time the staff inside were mostly chatting instead of moving things along. It felt unnecessarily slow. When I placed my order, I specifically asked for ketchup, black pepper, and yellow chili peppers. I was given none of them! And I didn’t realize it until I had already driven away. The fries lose its flavor without ketchup and pepper! On top of that, when I mentioned I would be eating in my car, I normally get a paper tray liner. This time, I didn’t receive one, just the food in a box.

First time I had In and Out was in Texas. I though I would try it in California since that is supposed to be where it all started. I have to say, I was not as impressed. The hamburger bun was very hard. The shake tasted more like one from a McDonalds. It was just not that great. Yes In-N-Outs have long lines, but never have I had to wait over 30 minutes for food so cold the cheese turned solid. If I sound salty about all of this, well it's probably because of the disgustingly large amount they heaped on our food.

It’s not the first time I got less fries less sauce less of grilled onion when I asked for extra but the thing with this location is whenever I come here I always get less of fires not a full bowl of fries how used to be before COVID lockdown. I have went several other locations around the Bay Area but some stand out to have the same problem like this Union city location I hope they see how much a person is spending and how much they getting in return not a worth of deal. Sometimes I have orders over $50 $70 but it comes to fries they always half in bowl. I don’t know if employees having the problem or the problem is with their superiors management or the management itself is a problem. Was ordering through the drive through at night. Transaction was smooth until I got to the second window. Was asked if I wanted ketchup, I asked my passengers but they were all sleeping or didn’t care. The passenger next to me changed their mind said they wanted ketchup. I told the worker sorry, can I get some ketchup and he turns to the lady next to him and says “I asked this dude if he wanted ketchup and he said no and now he is saying yes” right in front of me and I heard it, so I apologized that my passenger changed their mind. However, I believe it is extremely disrespectful to talk about customers in front of them. It may be an inconvenience but not a very big deal if a customer changes their mind, their comment was not needed.

Not the first time I was handed a wrong order. Most of the time I would find out after reaching home. This time, I checked and showed them right over there. They made the Flying Dutchman without whole grilled onion and chopped chilies, even when I asked for it. When I told them , they said those are under the cheese. I pulled the patties apart and there was nothing there. Then the lady took my order in the back and throw on some grilled onions and chillies. Just like that. The food looked like it got run over by a car.

Consistently Undercooked Burgers – Serious Health Risk I’ve given In-N-Out multiple chances, but I’m officially done. Time and time again, the burgers I’ve received have been shockingly undercooked — pink and raw in the middle, not just rare, but completely unsafe. I’ve actually gotten diarrhea after eating there more than once, and that’s not something I take lightly. What’s worse is that this doesn’t seem to be a one-time issue or an off-day. It’s clearly a quality control failure across multiple visits. It honestly feels like the newer employees are just being told to brown the outside of the patty and call it “well done” — which is dangerously far from the truth. For a chain that prides itself on freshness and consistency, it’s incredibly disappointing that food safety is being brushed aside. If you can’t cook a burger properly, what’s the point? I don’t care how “iconic” the brand is — serving raw meat to customers should never be acceptable. I hope someone at corporate finally wakes up and starts holding their staff accountable. Until then, I won’t be coming back, and I’d advise others to think twice before risking their health.
