Garik's BBQ, aka Dr. Hogly Wogly's, is a long-standing BBQ joint with a retro vibe. Customers rave about the juicy beef, brisket sandwich, and friendly service, especially from waitresses like Betsy and Priscilla. Some find the ribs inconsistent, and a few dislike the sweetness of the sauce.

The BEST BBQ this side of the Mississippi!!! Ive been going here since the mid 1970's. I loved this place then and I love it now. As a kid I would always get the full order of beef ribs. As an adult I always get the 3 meat combo: Ribs, half Chicken and Brisket. What an amazing meal everytime!!! And my 2 sides are always Beans and Beans. Ive tried everything and nothing comes close to the beans. And of course the complimentary home made loaf of bread is amazing as well.
This is probably one of the best BBQ places I have tried. Everything is so delicious. The location is pretty small, but the staff is friendly. However the food is so yummy. They have spicy bbq sauce and regular bbq sauce, I prefer the spicy one, both are delicious though. Definitely so delicious !
When I lived in the San Fernando Valley I would go here monthly but now live quite a distance away. Decided to make the drive and was glad I did. Food was great as I remembered it, the portion sizes were generous, and the price right.
Came here for the first time & got the 3 meat combination plate for me and my partner to share and WOW, huge portions were more than enough for the two of us 🥰 we are from Texas and this met our expectation
This is simply GREAT Tyler, Texas barbecue. (And I am from Tyler.) Been there a few times before, even though I live 50 miles away, but recently took a group of foreign tourist friends from China there and they were amazed at the quality and amount of barbecued meats. AND the sides, wow! The BBQ Beans alone are worth the trip, but the Coleslaw and Macaroni Salad run close seconds. We bought some there group plates and, given that there was so much (reasonably priced), halfway through I was sure our group with many very thin ladies would never finish. NO, those ladies are it ALL!
My absolute favorite BBQ spot! My parents have been coming here for years and now I am starting this tradition with my friends and will continue when I have my own family. They are very generous with their servings and the food is absolutely delicious!
Been coming here for years food is excellent. Service is excellent. Gets a little busy during the weekends, but definitely worth the wait
Wow! This place was unexpected. Small little location with a VERY comforting interior and lovely vibe, felt very at home and relaxed. The food though... Wow! I had a Beef rib and brisket dinner with a side of baked beans and coleslaw. The bread on the side was DELICIOUS with a little butter, and dipped in the meats juices. THAT was SOOO good, will have to come back and try more of their meats. They have a regular and spicy BBQ sauce that were both delicious! They make sure the meats are the star of the meal though because the brisket was delicious and the beef rib left me so filled! The service was also wonderful and I was attended too often for being a party of one! Make sure to tip, they genuinely do deserve it. Such friendly people! Make sure to call ahead to see if they have seating as the location isn't too large but packs a punch of flavor and is worth a wait. Or just come early and grab a seat! Great for small get togethers, and a night out with the family, or just a meal on your own. COME HERE NOW! ☺️
I recently visited a new barbecue place that opened up by our house that offers Texas style BBQ. It was good, but very pricey. I say it was good but not as good as Hogly Woglys. I've been going to this restaurant for over 50 years. We don't live in the area anymore but anytime I drive through town, I stop and pick some up. Hands down the best beef ribs I've ever had. I absolutely love their barbecue sauce. Too many other places add an overabundance of vinegar and sugar. There's is too perfection. The atmosphere is dated but cozy and always clean. This restaurant has and always will be my go-to for good, authentic, Texas style barbecue.
This restaurant is THE restaurant that other restaurants aspire to be. Dr. Hogly Wogly's holds a dear place in my heart next to my stomach. The food is classic Texas barbecue with delicious fixings that feel gourmet and homemade. The brisket with bread and butter pickles is smoked heaven on earth.
I usually get take out from here at least 1x a week. I treated my bestie for lunch a few weeks back and she loved it too. Some people might not like this spot , but I love it . They give huge portions of meat. The 3 meats dinner is my favorite and I usually have left overs for the next day. The bbq sauce is tangy and has great flavor. The baby back ribs , forget about it. Fall off the bone meat and so tender. Never dry. The texas hot links have the perfect amount of heat without scortching your mouth.. The brisket is my favorite. So tender and flavorful. My 1 and only complaint, if you wanna call it that , is that they don't have greens (collard greens) on the menu lol. Definitely check out this spot if you're in the area.
My Father moved our family from England in 1976 and discovered this place. It was always a family treat growing up. I came to the Valley last week and had to go. Still fantastic. If I lived in the area, I’d need elastic waisted pants and would have diabetes. Sooooo good!!
I love this place, and everyone I have ever taken to Dr Hogly Wogly’s loves it as well! You can go anywhere and eat something described as barbecue, but it won’t be as good. I love the brisket, my girl friend loves the pulled pork, and many of my friends love the ribs. I am also a fan of the macaroni salad with a bit of spicy bbq sauce on it! Feels like grandmas house, tastes like heaven in Texas, and won’t cost you more than it should.
Great discovery! My friend had the ribs which he said were excellent. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which is perhaps the best I've ever had. Frequently the sauce just overwhelms everything and you don't really taste the pork. This restaurant has a lighter touch so that I could really enjoy the pork. Highly recommended!
This is the best BBQ I’ve ever had!!! If you’re visiting LA, you absolutely *must* stop into the mind blowing joint! Minimal menu, maximum deliciousness
My favorite BBQ in the 818. Babyback ribs with an extra splash of their spicy BBQ sauce is perfect. Fries are always crispy and perfect for dipping into their beans. Always clean and great friendly service.
Nice quality BBQ joint. No frills classic style. Tried the pulled pork, hot link, beef rib, and brisket. All were fine. More of the wet style than char. I used their spicy bbq sauce, great flavor. Would prefer to be a bit thicker. For sides, I tired the macaroni and potato salad, plus coleslaw. All good, macaroni was my favorite. Nice fresh baked bread too.
Went there after a 12 hour shift about an hour from closing to put in a to-go order. The waitresses kick ass. I was greeted abs they took my order right away. They brought my food out in like 5 minutes. That doesn't happen anywhere.
Very flavorful meat, but very messy since they do a wet bbq style. As a result if you order a sandwich, prepare to eat it with a knife and fork unless you want to get REALLY messy. I had brisket, my wife had pulled pork (she got the coleslaw on the side). The coleslaw was very tasty. The highlights of the sides. I had bbq beans. Which had a nice smoky flavor but were very saucy (way more sauce than beans) which wasn't my preference but still tasted very good. Potato salad was fairly standard...tasted good but nothing outstanding. Recommendation: brisket and coleslaw.
It's a little local bbq shack. I think it's the finest BBQ in all of Los Angeles; Bar none. Hogly's is world renowned. Wilt Chamberlain used to drive from Brentwood to eat at Hogly's. The 3 way combos are the way I like to go. I like the links, with spareribs and brisket. Along with 2 sides of homemade macaroni salad and 1/2 pint of their great beans and a loaf their fresh baked bread. NOW WE'RE TALKING! That's the way I was advised to order many years ago. Great value. You can't go wrong ordering that much bbq. That works out to be about 2 days of marvelous left over eatings for the common man. And they provide good old fashioned service too. However you order it, what ever you order, you can't go wrong eating at Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas Barbeque. The finest bbq in all of Los Angeles!
I love this place and with BBQ being easily one of my comfort foods, I couldn't have a higher standard. I ordered ordered BBQ brisket and golly! Wow! Momma! How the hell did you guys do that?! It was tender, savory and had this wonderful sauce on the bottom which I can only assume was the marinade. The potato salad was delicious, as was the baked beans! The beans had a nice corn taste to them- while I don't know if it was intentional, DON'T change a thing. Personally, I can't wait to go back. They had accessible parking. 😀
This might be the best BBQ I've ever had. We only ate meat so can't comment on sides, but the brisket, spare ribs, chicken and hot links were magnificent. Slightly sweet sauce and amazing flavor, everything was so tender, juicy and fall off the bone. The service was excellent, very kind and attentive. I say $30-50 per person but the second photo is our leftovers, easily 2 feast size meals for 2 very hungry adults. So more like $20 per meal. Super kid friendly. We will definitely be coming back.
I've had a lot of bbq at sit-down restaurants in my time. This is probably the best I've had. I had brisket, spare ribs, and spicy sausages. The brisket and ribs melt in your mouth. The meal was served with great tasting bread. The server recommended that I dip the bread in the juices on the plate, kinda like a bbq dip, and it was excellent. This is a no-frills type of place. They serve bbq, beer, soda, and dessert. That's it. It's very cozy inside, but in a good way. 5 stars for the food, because it is really that good.
An absolute beast on terms of BBQ. Order the three meat deal and enjoy deliciousness. Been there three times and I can't wait for the fourth. Service is ALWAYS friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and plentiful for the price. A great value. The two downsides; parking is sparce (parking available on street) and the bathrooms are on the outside (bathroom code needed)... Not really a big deal. The eating area is small, but I never had to wait when going. The potato salad is wonderful, order it regardless of meal! Highly recommended place, come support a small historic business.
This is a REAL BBQ SPOT ! The restaurant is so cute gives calm homey vibes, the waitress Priscilla was absolutely on top of everything, we let her know it was our first time and she gave us 5/5 recommendations, great service and the food Yall was so fresh and good ! Love that they have 2 BBQ sauces the spicy one and the original, beer was super cold and went great with the food. Definitely recommend!
Hands down my FAVORITE bbq spot in SoCal! No one can beat Dr. Hogly Wogly’s when it comes to flavor. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and I don’t plan to ever stop. The only thing stopping me now is that I don’t live in Cali anymore but it will ALWAYS be one of my stops when I’m visiting. Service is always pretty good, although they can get busy at times. Their waitresses do their best to keep up with rushes. My favorite menu item is the pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans. Their bread is always nice and soft too. Sometimes I just get the bread and baked beans because they’re that good. My family really loves their ribs and sweet potato pie too. Definitely add them to your list of places to try if you’re in SoCal and looking for some good bbq!
A Vegetarian at Dr. Hogly Wogly’s Tyler Texas BBQ: A Sojourn into Panorama City If you have ever wandered the sun-soaked boulevards of Southern California, you may find yourself pondering the ancient American question: “Where, pray tell, does one find honest barbecue on a day when the sun seems intent on barbecuing you?” Fortune, ever the fickle companion, led me by the nose—not by hunger, for I count myself among those eccentric souls called vegetarians, but by curiosity and a cinematic whisper—to the venerable institution known as Dr. Hogly Wogly’s Tyler Texas Barbecue. Born, they say, in the wilds of Tyler, Texas in 1969, this modest eatery set its stakes in the gentle, asphalted plains of Panorama City, and has withstood the withering gales of time, neon, and Los Angeles real estate. Its low-slung, wood-paneled walls and booth-lined interior are as steadfast and unyielding as the trunk of an old river oak. Should the walls themselves grow mouths, I wager they would tell stories—of boom years, slow afternoons, and the gentle drizzle of barbecue sauce over brisket. But I was not there to test their beef nor to sing the praises of smoked pork. No, I arrived as a humble seeker of plant-based sustenance, armed only with an open mind and a keen eye for the details that flavor a meal. The young lady behind the counter, with a kindness that would put most saints to shame, guided me through the treacherous shoals of the menu. When I, with a hopeful glance, considered the baked beans, she did not let me founder—“There’s meat in the beans,” she said, her voice a beacon of vegetarian safety. It is no small thing to be seen and spared such a fate in a barbecue house; for that, I tip my hat. So, dear reader, what lay before me on my lacquered table of plenty? First, a coleslaw of the freshest stripe: cabbage crisp as the morning after a rain, not overburdened by sauce nor mystery, but refreshing, subtle, and honest. The macaroni salad, creamy and true, balanced delicately between toothsome and yielding, offered a comfort known to all who have ever loved a picnic. Sweet potato fries, that rarest of barbecue companions, emerged golden and healthy—neither slick with oil nor burdened with salt, but perfect in their modesty. The sweet potato pie, simple and unadorned, surprised me—a slice neither too sweet nor too plain, with a crust that whispered of careful hands and homespun kitchens. All the while, the restaurant played host to a fine playlist—a symphony of late ’70s disco and ’80s pop that would please the heart of any time traveler, and perhaps, just perhaps, coax even the most stoic among us to tap a toe. Booths for families, napkin dispensers for the sauce-splattered, bottles of ketchup and salt for the hopeful—every detail steeped in Americana. Baseball flickered on the screens; the afternoon sun glanced off the polished tables. I looked around and saw not a relic, but a living, breathing testament to endurance, kindness, and the strange fellowship of the Los Angeles lunch hour. So if you find yourself hungry in body, or merely hungry for memory, you could do worse than to step into Dr. Hogly Wogly’s Tyler Texas BBQ. Even a vegetarian, with a little help, will find their share of the feast.
Haven't been here since I was a youngster when my dad and I came years ago they have the best BBQ in the valley of Southern California. This pa e has been here for years. If you love BBQ as much as I do you will love this place. Great food, atmosphere, and service. You definetly wont be disappointed.
I heard all about this place from my friends over and over and finally made it in. I so happened to come in during lunch time. They had several items for their lunch special. The waitress suggested the Brisket Sandwich. I also got a side of baked beans and coleslaw. The 2 sides were absolutely delicious and to die for! The waitress said that sometimes people put the coleslaw in the sandwich so I gave it a try. Definitely a game changer! Incredible! I also ended up smothering the brisket sandwich with the hot bbq sauce. The hot bbq sauce had the perfect spice because it was super sweet with a little baby kick of spice. This place is the BEST BBQ joint in LA! Please check it out! Reasonable pricing as well! Will be back!
Accidentally stumbled upon this place. They have been here 53 years!! What??? Stepping out of the car we were greeted with the most amazing BBQ smells. Indoor and outdoor eating. The outdoor area has a small wall and green turf. You forget that you're on a busy street. Betsy was our server. She was new and we loved her. Super helpful. Food was beyond fantastic. For me, the sandwiches were big enough and had so much meat, I could have split it. But, don't do that!!! It's just as good the next day. Meat is tender, cut with a fork
It was good. Not traditional, but still good. I would go here again. For the pretentious people who want to know what's not traditional about it: it's not a dry rub brisket, onions are $1, and no sweet tea. Also, I didn't see a smoker but they might simply smoke off site for safety reasons. For people who aren't pretentious and just want to know what was good: the sandwich bread was perfect, the pickles were sweet, and both the staff and customers were nice. Atmosphere was DEFINITELY what I'd remember from a mom and pop old bbq joint, with the wood paneling. Made me pretty nostalgic. Again, even the customers were really nice and friendly. I'm thinking, with their name, the pork might be better so I'm gonna try that next time.
4 1/2 stars. I've been coming here for 45 years (it hasn't changed!). For what Californians would consider Texas stye BBQ, this place is overall my preference. This is not Southern style (corn bread, collard greens, etc.) The meat is sweet. And juicy. If you like neat, dry, BBQ, this is NOT the place for you. The brisket here is my favorite and beats the brisket at any Jewish deli. The beef ribs are legendary. When I was a teenager I would order the three way combinations (chicken, brisket, and beef ribs) and was able to eat the whole platter like in the Flintstones... alas in my 60's now a simple plate of brisket is for me. And TONS of BBQ sauce. The side dishes: The beans are by design a bean pudding and deliciously sweet and mustardy. The macaroni salad is quite likely the finest on the planet. The coleslaw is respectable (if you like it sweet and not vinegary). The potato salad is just okay. The two BBQ sauces: the mild one is too mild, and the hot one is way too hot. For 45 years, I've always mixed the two, by adding about 3 parts hot to 10 parts mild, and stirring it at the table. I'm not a big fan of sweet potato pie (prefer pumpkin) but it is similar. Pecan pie is just too sweet for me. Bring a spare shirt to change into, after you're done! It's worth it.
Great food, great atmosphere, mediocre service. Everything tasted great, atmosphere was good. Service was short and blunt what you would expect from. Vending machine. Server See’s how much food we are taking home and we have to ask for every single container needed to take what we have to go. We have 3 containers we are taking home and still no sugestión for a bag on her part. We got fed up of waiting at the table and get up to go to the register to avoid dealing with her and she ends up going to the register to ring us out. As she is walking up I tell her we need a bag!! Wanted to leave 0% tip instead I left 18%.. split bill other party left 20% tip. I have zero Tolerance for a poor attitude. Avoid being served by Harley Quuinn_t.
Found this place on when I was searching for the best BBQ place in LA. I’m not disappointed. The flavours of the Beef ribs, baby back ribs and beef brisket is amazing! Smoky and flavorful. Only complain is that the beef ribs is super tough and you’ll need to get your hand dirty to eat them. Around 30% of the meat is left on the bone as it’s too tough. But the flavour made up for the toughness for me. Atmosphere of the place is great. Super old school setup. Hidden gem.
Such an amazing little place to stumble upon, it is everything you want in a small BBQ restaurant. The restaurant had such a warm and homey feeling that you can’t find in most restaurants. The bread was so buttery and doughy and delicious , the BBQ beans were great and the potato salad was nice and cold. The chicken was incredibly tender and didn’t need a knife, it shred perfectly with just a fork. The sweet BBQ sauce is good, but the spicy one was a bit watery. Overall, would happily go back again.
“Wet BBQ” is very interesting taste and texture. The food no meat falling off the bone experience. In my opinion it seems like the meat was boiled to cook and then put on a grill with a lot of sauce. The food was hot, but just seems to miss a lot of the characters of smoked meat or grilled meat. The portions are huge and price is relatively moderate. The sides are good, I like the fresh dinner rolls. I got there on a Sunday evening, the restaurant feels dark, like most of the lights were not turned on. The ambiance was interesting, the benches actually have patroons and they can sit a party of 8 adults easily. This place is worth a try.
Today is either my fifth or sixth time eating here. During the previous five visits, I wouldn’t have hesitated at all to give 5 stars. However, today the brisket was good, but the ribs were extremely dry and even burnt. They felt completely different from what I’ve had before. If I were rating based on today alone, I’d give about 3 or 2 stars, but since it has been so good every other time and I believe today was just a mistake, I’m giving 4 stars.
It was nice to dine at a really good BBQ restaurant that wasn’t part of a chain. I was very impressed with the reasonable prices for lunch specials. I had a regular menu item, 1/2 rack of baby back ribs. Ribs > good, except the bark was tough, especially on the last rib. I liked the sauce on the rib plate Table bbq sauce > mild and tangy Bread > excellent, served with real butter Coleslaw > very good, it was a little spicy, which is unusual, but tasty Beans > OK, appeared to be doctored canned beans, but still tasty Service was very friendly and attentive, tables and floor clean
The brisket and pulled pork were amazing honestly. Sadly the ribs, which to me make a barbecue place, were very hard. I had the beef ribs. For the sides I had the barbecue baked beans and the macaroni salad. Both were good. No complaints there. I would definitely go again but not order the ribs. I heard the links were good. I'll give those a shot next time. The service was great too. Not a bad spot if you find yourself in the Valley.
My husband and I visited here on May 3rd, 2024. It gives a Diner vibes. The waitress was very hospitable and we didn't have to wait long to get our food, see below. Hubby got ribs, which he enjoyed. I got a homemade chicken sandwich with potato salad, the chicken was okay, could have been a little more seasoned for me. The potato salad was good, and our lil one chicken and fries. The barbecue sauce was good. The restroom outside. The bill was $50 in all.
It's okay California-Texas BBQ. Not bad, but not great either. I had the beef brisket. It was tender, and have a smoky flavor, but not Mesquite-ish. The brisket was served in a plate, over/in a water down barbecue sauce and possible meat drippings. The bread that was served was really good and made a good compliment to the brisket with some mild BBQ sauce. I'm reserving judgment until I can try the beef ribs next.
The brisket was flavorful and tender. I made the mistake of saucing the baby back ribs before tasting them. The sauce was just ok. It did however complement the hot links. The macaroni salad was little more than mayo and mac. All n all I thought it was A little pricey for a combo. Definitely not at the top of my list but if you're curious; it won't kill the cat.
Brisket is good. Chicken and ribs lack flavor. I don't think they use the right chicken. Not sure what happened to the ribs. Do they use frozen ribs? BBQ sauce is good.
Good flavor, large portions but a little limited on sides. Brisket is amazing, ribs are good but a little tough. Everything is else is good but not the best I’ve ever had. The bread is so soft and good and the peach pie is amazing. One thing about this location is they’ve been using wood burners for years and they’re one of the few places in LA that still uses them, so the flavor is unique. Parking kind of sucks and it can take a little bit to get your food sometimes, but overall this is a pretty good BBQ restaurant in the valley!
Well, I was a bit disappointed here and I honestly did not want be. I was really looking forward to this place. I ordered the beef ribs, don’t get me wrong it was good, but something was missing for me and I can’t tell you what it is exactly. The beef fell off the bone and coleslaw was good but it’s not a place I would go telling people you must try this. The kindest thing to say was I felt personally it was very average.
I love hole in the wall bbq but this place is NOT IT. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and despite it coming with coleslaw and me dousing it in BBQ sauce, the entire thing was flavorless. Not a thing in that sandwich had flavor. Neither did my steak fries. My husband's tri-tip sandwich was just as bland. You have to try to make the natural flavors of these foods taste so damn bland. The service was mediocre. Waitresses seemed like they hated their jobs, which honestly, fair. Just ordered Bludsoes to remember what actual bbq SHOULD taste like.
I order the brisket combo plate with BBQ beans and potato salad. First of all, that is not brisket. The meat cut might just be brisket, but it wasn't smoked brisket, it was more like a roast. The potato salad had no flavor and the beans I didnt even touch. They do give you big portions so thats a good thing.
Been going there since 1998 and the quality is not there anymore. The waitresses ALWAYS get my takeout order wrong!!🤬 one waitress who’s been there for awhile is great! The new ones don’t look happy aren’t really friendly and don’t really tend to takeout customers. Very disappointed!
I'm sorry this just wasn't good. BBQ is rather subjective, but this wasn't that I didn't like the style or whatever--and I have had BBQ all over Texas--this made me long for Dickey's... (mediocre fast food BBQ). The meat tastes like it spent longer on a steam table than smoker/grill. The brisket, pretty sure there's a criminal statute in Texas that would apply to calling this brisket. No bark, no fat, just bland. On the other hand, the baby back ribs were all bark so fairly dry, also somehow fairly tasteless. The ham... was. Meats served in a puddle of water. The sides, macaroni salad very bland, the beans were the consistency of baby food and had a very off taste. The sauces, one average sweet and one that might have been trying to be spicy (in a ketchup bottle), dunno, they didn't help. It was generous portions at a reasonable price but I wish I had paid more at Bludso's, Boneyard or anywhere else. To sum it up, I don't know what Dr. Hogley Wogly has a doctorate of--but it certainly isn't barbecue!
I came here because I heard it's a longtime Valley institution and hate to break it to the fans: This is one of the worst bbq I've ever had. Not because the food itself tasted bad, but because they were nowhere near a proper Texas BBQ. I ordered brisket and pulled pork, my usual go to as a gauge whether the bbq is good or not. No smokiness to speak of and none of that bbq flavor. To be fair, they're much better as stew though. The sides aren't stellar either; got baked beans and coleslaw, both meh. I did take out so couldn't speak of the overall service, but the staff who helped me was friendly enough. For $30, the relatively nearby Bear Pit would be a better choice.
Saw Dr. Hogly Wogly's highly recommend as really good BBQ in the Valley. Our server was very polite and the decor is quaint. The food however is just no good. I don't believe anyone that says they've been going here for decades unless those people have no taste buds. To start with, a BBQ place with neither Mac n Cheese OR Corn Bread is just... why even bother? I ordered the half chicken lunch with steak fries and Baked Beans. The half chicken came out hot with half a roll of steamed bread. The bread was good but chicken was swimming in far more juices than those pieces of meat could generate and it was pretty gross. The chicken seemed to be seasoned but had no flavor whatsoever. The Steak fries were generic and flavorless. Barely any salt on them. The Baked beans were just abysmal. More like mushed beans with a flavor I couldn't quite place. I had a spoonful and that was it. Their sauces weren't terrible. The "Spicy" sauce has no kick but is definitely chipotle based. It was alright but I didn't use it cause it was TOO chipotle based. Their regular sauce was pretty sweet and I used it for the flavorless fries. I really was hoping this place lived up to the hype but it simply doesn't. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, sadly it seems that's the only attention that is paid in this restaurant. Would definitely NOT recommend. There's a Bludsoe's like a mile away. Go there if you want BBQ.
Very great food one of the best bar-b-q places in the United States eveeyhing is great the only thing they lack is customer service this Caucasian lady was helping me with my order and told me move get out of my way im helping someone that is not a way to talk to people the correct way is excuse me I'm helping a customer and I would of felt more of a respectful environment in a work place
I'd rate it 1.5⭐️ If I can find my pictures, I'll attach them, but the pics from others are accurate. My roommate and I tried this place after seeing high rated recommendations, and both craving bbq. It was incredibly disappointing. I LOOOVE bbq and am very particular. I know I won't find the best in the valley or even L.A., but I still want passable and tasty so I can become a repeat customer. I do not plan on returning here. We tried so many dishes: multiple sides, plus ribs, chicken, sausage. I didn't like most of it. Maybe 1 side dish. I tried to doctor it up so it wouldn't be wasted cause it was expensive. If you love or even like bbq, I wouldn't recommend it. If you're indifferent to bbq and think the pics look good, then you might be ok with it.
I had a really disappointing experience at Hogly Wogly. Not only did they get my order wrong, but they also forgot my fries and potato salad. The brisket was dry and tough, and I had to wait far too long to be helped because there was no host up front. They definitely need to hire more staff to improve service. On a positive note, their bread is good, but that’s about the only thing that was decent. I won’t be coming back anytime soon . Next time I will order via phone, I got off work and wanted to surprise the fam. It didn't turn out so great. Also a huge minus because I asked for zzzbbq sauce and they also forgot that .
I honestly love dinning in at the place, i love the food most of the time, but I always seem to not get the correct order if I order on DoorDash, I paid $70 for this, and 2 small containers of sides and a loaf, I usually end up paying 59.99 for the feed 4 people which comes with way much more so I don’t understand how this ended up being $70
Pulled pork sandwich was terrible! The pork was tough and dry! You would think it would be juicy and tender. I think it's stewed. Ill try the brisket next time maybe. Their was alot of pork but after you chew it its dry had to spit out most of it! Wasn't worth it!
The pork in the pulled pork sandwich was dry yet the bread was so soggy from the sauce that the bread fell apart and I couldn't hold the sandwich. The sauce is so sweet it dominates the entire sandwich. The pork had no flavor on its own. It just tastes like sweet BBQ sauce but the sauce was very thin and almost water like consistency. The sweet potato pie has a strong smell of whatever room they kept it in. Almost like going to a smokers house and the scent gets into everything; the sweet potatoe pie smells like it was in a room that people smoke in. I took one bite and couldn't bear the smell of it. I would not order this again or eat from here again. I had high hopes but I'm very disappointed by the food. This isn’t Texas BBQ at all.
The absolutely WORST BBQ I have EVER had. First off the brisket isn't brisket- it's a London broil or something. Zero stars if possible. The pulled pork taste awful and looks old. The sausage is gross and taste like some generic store bought meat. There's not smoke flavor to any of their food. Also the plate was submerged in some kind of liquid. That was not appetizing. I was so disappointed I didn't even finish my plate for $40.
