Colazione al Bar Il Barilotto: uno di quei posti che, in un paese bellissimo e inevitabilmente turistico, riescono a restare concreti. Entrare qui è come prendere fiato: sorrisi veri, modi gentili, nessuna teatralità da ‘locale da cartolina’. Il personale è accogliente e rapido quanto basta, con quella cura che si nota nei dettagli: una parola in più, l’attenzione a chi sei e non solo a cosa ordini. Le paste sono buone sul serio, fresche e ben fatte, perfette per accompagnare il caffè senza trasformare la colazione in una corsa a ostacoli tra zuccheri e delusioni. E poi i prezzi: onesti, finalmente. Una piccola cosa, ma oggi è quasi un gesto etico.

Miglior bar di Varenna, uno degli unici con prezzi onesti in loco. dalle colazioni, sigarette, lotto, panini e aperitivi. Proprietari e dipendenti sono la parte migliore! Mi manca passare da voi per il caffè! un abbraccio ragazzi!

I truly enjoyed my breakfast at this charming spot. The ham focaccia exceeded my expectations with its flavor and quality, while the coffee and pistachio croissant were simply outstanding. The cozy atmosphere made me feel like I was experiencing an authentic Italian breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place.

Delicious authentic paninis with a lot of different options. Seems like a local spot where many local workers were eating. Way more recommended to eat there than the other over priced restaurants nearby that aren’t even very good. Service was great too and there are tables outside where you can sit and eat.

Had a tuna sandwich & cappuccino after spending a day wondering around Bellagio and Varenna. The staff lady was so attentive, friendly and welcoming. They also have a toilet that can be used for customers. Definitely will come back!

This is where we used our breakfast vouchers from nearby Fio&Gio. After we got our complementary Cappuccino and pistachio cornetti-one of us chose muesli, we went back to our accommodation and sat on the roof terrace; although, Al Barilott is located in a small piazza where you sit at an outside table and enjoy views of a nearby church and clock tower, as well as Lake Como and the mountains surrounding the lake. The ladies running the place were so gracious and helpful, and they also had a delicious looking homemade jam filled cake. If we had stayed longer than one night, I could see returning here another day.

Photos don’t do it justice. Best. Paninis. Ever! There are two counters - one for payment (near the entrance) and one for order (to the back). Order the paninis you want from the menu - they have more than the ones on display. You won’t regret it 💯

We will be returning. My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting this little cafe restaurant shop today. We had toasted sandwiches, beer and cappuccino. The waitresses/staff were super funny, great service. They sell beer/wine/snacks/cigs/ and even have some slot machines along with lotto tickets. This place feels authentic, not a touristy place. I had the aged beef sandwich with mushrooms and cheese, and my wife had the parma ham, cheese and mushrooms. The bread was crunchy and warm. So delightful. We will return.

A small, discreet, and buzzing venue. First walking in, you might be confused that you are in the right spot. It looks like a slots casino, tobacco shop, bar. After looking closer, you'll see the espresso machines and menus. Our cappuccino was 10/10. The atmosphere is friendly. The post cards are cute.

Wonderful local coffee shop! Great for early birds as they open at 7am. The server is what makes this place so special! He is equally friendly to tourists and locals. A really lovely man! His good mood is infectious! Lovely pastries. I can recommend the pistachio croissants and a raisin twist. Coffee is great and really hot. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend! A real authentic Italian experience.

Locale discreto, ma compensa la bontà dei panini e la gentilezza dei proprietari, credo. Al servizio purtroppo abbiamo avuto un ragazzo che non sembrava capire molto quello che dicevamo e per ordinare è passato davvero molto tempo. È capitato anche che passasse, sempre lo stesso ragazzo, con un sacco nero maleodorante nel locale mentre eravamo intenti a mangiare...capisco sia un posto piccolo, ma magari lo si poteva chiudere oppure lasciarlo nel bagno privato onde evitare questo brutto odore...prezzi nella norma di un posto turistico.

The waitress had a very bad attitude…… We looked at the menu and chose to order cappuccino, which is 2 euros on the menu, so we told her that we wanted cappuccino and we wanted to drink it in the store. But within only a few seconds and without our noticing, the waitress told us that a cup of cappuccino would cost 3 euros. We asked her ：why？？！but she pointed to a simple and crude paper cup on the coffee machine and said that she "thought" we wanted to take it away... ? But, a simple and crude paper cup costs one euro more??? And waitress’s attitude was very bad! Is this way how you make money?
