The garden was lovely and cooler than we expected. There is parking in front though difficult to turn around. I would recommend backing into the space to get out more easily. I don‘t understand the mixed reviews about the service. We had a lovely young gentleman who was friendly but not overly so and looked after us well even though the restaurant was busy. Every dish was amazing and prices were accordingly expensive but worth the money and effort. We will definitely be returning.

Top restaurant in Varese, the waiter will guide you through an incredibly vary list of wines (personal advice: try the Patrick Soutiran Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru). Moreover, they serve delicious dishes in an elegant way. Recommended.

A beautiful place. Situated quite close to the center of Varese and easy to reach, but nonetheless quiet and peaceful. The service was exceptionally polite and professional, and the food was excellent. Generally, most dishes are inspired by the French cuisine, meaning small portions (especially the Primi Piatti) with intricate decoration. Still, two courses are plenty for a single person. Even considering the high prices, you get a lot of value for your money here.

Excellent food in an unusual setting, a family-run business in a typical local villa with garden, beautiful and decadent. The combination makes the experience cozy and sophisticated at the same time. My type of restaurant. Highly recommended.

Food was good, but service was terrible. Waited 50 min for the waiter to finally pay attention to us, although we said from the start we wanted dessert and Prosecco. Ended up having to stand up and leave for us to finally be able to pay.

Do NOT go here. Il Gestore in Varese had the worst mannerisms and attitude I have come across in the hospitality industry. My experience was this: My fiancé (from Italy) and I (US) decided to go to Il Gestore to have lunch in hopes of later organizing a Welcome dinner there for our wedding party guests in the following year. We walked in and asked if they were open for lunch. They said “Yes.” No one was there besides 1 staff member and the owner. We then asked to look at their lunch menu and the staff member handed it to us. We looked at it for a minute and the owner walked over to us and said that they were completely booked for lunch... and for dinner. It was dark and empty inside and obsolete outside. Why were we told they were open and handed the menu and later given a false excuse and turned away? Additionally, when asked if we could sit outside for a coffee they told us that they are not a bar. We were treated like 2nd/3rd class citizens. I can only imagine how they must treat other people and/or the ethics of their food. It’s their loss. I am glad I saved the thousands I was going to spend their for the wedding dinner. I will be taking my business elsewhere. We had a very nice lunch few blocks down the road.
