Mature atmosphere, came here just for a drink and was also given complementary snacks from the kitchen. Now’s that’s good customer service. If I didn’t have stuff to do I’d dine here due to this amazing first impression. I only tried drinks here and snacks, i definitely recommend but I can’t speak for the food since I haven’t tried it.

"If I could have one meal before I die, it would be here." We overheard another diner say this at the end of their meal, and I couldn't agree more. This was Venetian cuisine elevated to another level but still approachable and friendly. The potato mousse and mushroom risotto were spectacular... The mousse in particular was unlike anything I've ever had. We paired with a glass of Barbara de Alba at the recommendation of our server, a perfect pairing, with the earthy and black fruit notes of the wine blending seamlessly with the herbal notes of the risotto. We were recommended the restaurant by our hotel, and I can see why. I wanted to clarify a couple inaccurate comments from other reviewers: the restaurant clearly states in bold on the menu that a 5 euro per person cover charge and 10% service will be included automatically. There is, however, zero expectation or pressure to tip on top of that. Also, the restaurant does not have outdoor seating, but the indoor dining room was spacious and lovely. That's no reason to dock a star from a fantastic spot. We found the service to be perfectly paced. Those who are expecting fast food service or cheap eats should go to a trattoria. Slow down and enjoy a refined and friendly meal here.

This restaurant is outstanding. The food is GREAT and the service was even better. We had dishes prepared in ways never even heard of before and they were excellent. I highly recommend it here. The lasagna and eggplant were 2 of the most outstanding dishes we had, but the potato moose was also excellent and I highly recommend it.

Arrived when the kitchen had just closed they very kindly still served us, although they could have turned us away and had a split break! Very much appreciated as we were super hungry and had been told of the amazing food here by more than one local! The menu was traditional Italian, wide choice with vegan and veggie options. Crudités and beautiful olive oil, and bread while we waited for the food to be prepared. Must try - courgette flowers, absolutely divine. Sit by the window and you can watch the world go by on the other side of the bridge!

Incredible. So delicious (we returned for a 2nd night) during our short stay in Venezia. Everything was absolutely delicious (the melanese was incredible!... Carbonara~ to die for! Rissoto & potato mouse~ wow! No words! We loved EVERYTHING. staff was wonderful, & patient. They should have had a line around the block (doubled) as the food was fabulous. A must visit when in Venezia.

It is my third time I am visiting this restaurant. Every time the service and the food is top-notch. I had a beautiful table beside a big window with lots of light. There are no tables outside. I had Vitello tonnato and the veal. Perfect. AND: I loved the music! I will come again. Update: today the fourth time and it was excellent. Believe me, one of the top 3 Restaurants in Venice. All said!

You may not remember us…but we remember you. This restaurant is the best thing that could have happened on our honeymoon. You see, we went to Venice for romance and magic right after we got married in 2015, and initially found everything except that (unfortunately). That day we had an awful time at the Guggenheim, it started to thunder storm (we of course got soaked in the rain). I won’t lie, I began to get a bit moody and discouraged…and we happened to have ran into this restaurant right then, desperate to get out of the storm. As soon as we jumped through the doorway, the owner apologized and said he was not yet open for reservations. We explained our situation and begged if we can stay by the door until the rain stopped….he then said although they are closed, he cannot allow us to have such a terrible experience (on our honeymoon) In the city he loves. He allowed us in and gave us a little table by the window-even though they were not planning to open for another hour. He then proceeded to give us the most delicious and beautiful meal the he personally brought out to us. He was so kind. So caring and considerate. Just an amazing, compassionate human. Who gave us an unforgettable beautiful moment and truly allowed us to experience the beauty of Venice firsthand. This whole experience brings tears to our eyes almost 10 years later. My husband and I think about this magical restaurant all the time and reminisce about how this one tiny experience completely transformed our honeymoon. We love this place and we cannot wait to return someday with our kids.

This was our favorite meal in Venezia! The truffle risotto was one of a kind. The fillet of beef in the valpolicella sauce was the best steak I’ve ever had. We had great service and wine pairing too. Highly refined dining 🤌🏻

We were there 10 years ago for our honeymoon and last week for our 10th anniversary. The same exceptional food and service. Everything we had was fantastic. The best meal in Venice. It is not cheap, certainly... But if you want good food, this is the place. They charge for service in the bill, which is understandable for an upscale restaurant. I really enjoyed it all, especially the cocoa ravioli.

This was a great spot for a casual dinner. Gets filled up fast and the homemade pasta, mussels, and desserts were fabulous.

A Venezia si mangia bene. Ai Gondolieri. Un'esperienza che va oltre il semplice pasto, diventando un vero e proprio viaggio nei sapori autentici della tradizione veneziana. L’atmosfera è calda, accogliente e curata nei minimi dettagli, con un servizio attento, professionale e mai invadente. Il personale riesce a farti sentire come a casa, pur mantenendo un'eleganza sobria e impeccabile. Ai Gondolieri non è solo un ristorante, è un luogo dove la passione per la buona cucina si sente in ogni dettaglio. Un vero gioiello veneziano che consiglio con entusiasmo a chi desidera vivere un’esperienza gastronomica autentica e memorabile.

Ristorante tipico e folcloristico in dorsoduro. Non turistico. Ottimo il fegato alla veneta. Forse un po' costoso per quanto offerto. Merita di passarci una serata.

Parto dal servizio, ed è il motivo della quarta stella, i camerieri sono veramente bravi, gentile, discreti, ottimo servizii. Per il resto mi aspettavo molto di più, cibo discreto, a parte qualche guizzo che merita di più, carta dei vini non molto vasta ma con una discreta selezione sui vini veneti, e ci sta essendo in veneto, l'ambiente è curato ma forse un po'anonimo. Ultiima nota dolente..i prezzi, si sa che venezia è costosa, ma qui rasentiamo la follia se lo si paragona a cosa si mangia e si beve, rincari sul vino del 100%, almeno dei vini che ho controllato io. A questi prezzi, ed alnche a molto meno, si mangia meglio a Venezia, e riprove ne ho avute diverse in 4 giorni di ristoranti.

Il locale è rimasto alle origini musica compresa con una certa eleganza per chi apprezza lo stile , il personale molto gentile e disponibile. Il prezzo pagato però decisamente troppo alto rispetto a quanto mangiato nulla togliendo alla qualità e alla particolarità del piatto scelto " risotto ai gondolieri " il conto è stato al di sopra delle aspettative . Complessivamente , esperienza fatta abbastanza positiva ma non ci tornerei .

Didn’t feel welcome here but went through with the reservation anyway. Our server who seemed to be the owner/manager, was very attentive however not very pleasant for his role as a server. He warmed up to us a bit towards the end of the dinner. Food was delicious! Best steak I’ve had in Italy so far. FYI there is no cell phone reception in here. Would’ve gotten five star review if server was more pleasant.

I had one of the most unique and delicious appetizers (EVER!!): the potato mousse with tiny meatballs (also available with mushrooms). Really spectacular. I also had a pasta with porcini mushrooms which was wonderful. Ai Gondolieri is a few steps from the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and I highly recommend it for lunch. It has a ship-like interior. Was not very busy at lunch which was surprising. But absolutely excellent, highly recommend.

The service was incredibly slow for just a standard 3 course meal. It took us almost 3 hours to be done. The food was simply ok, but nothing special. It was definitely on the worst side of all restau…

We had a lovely dinner and were well taken care of the friendly staff. The food was very tasty and quite standard pricing for the area. I’d definitely come here again.

Il ristorante Ai Gondolieri si distingue per la sua atmosfera caratteristica e accogliente. L’ambiente è reso caldo e piacevole dalle pareti rivestite in legno, che conferiscono un tocco di tradizione e intimità. Il servizio si è rivelato attento ed educato, con il personale sempre disponibile e cordiale. Purtroppo, l’esperienza culinaria non è stata all’altezza delle aspettative. Abbiamo scelto alcune pietanze dal menu dedicato al tartufo bianco, ma siamo rimasti delusi. Il tartufo, che avrebbe dovuto essere il protagonista, era quasi impercettibile, lasciando i piatti privi del caratteristico sapore e aroma che ci aspettavamo. La nota più dolente, però, è stata il conto. Abbiamo scoperto una maggiorazione del 10% indicata come “tassa sul servizio”, senza alcuna segnalazione preventiva sul menu. Questa sorpresa ha lasciato un sapore amaro, facendo sembrare l’esperienza più simile a una trappola per turisti che a una cena autentica in un ristorante tipico veneziano. In sintesi, mentre l’ambiente e il servizio sono stati apprezzabili, la qualità del cibo e la trasparenza sui costi hanno deluso, lasciando un’impressione complessivamente negativa.

Locale ambizioso e sopravvalutato. Se si è amanti del servizio accurato con il personale ossequioso allora si è nel posto giusto salvo poi scoprire nel conto un più 10% per il servizio oltre ad un coperto di €. 5,00. Con queste extra però i servizi, nel senso di bagni, lasciano molto a desiderare anche nella pulizia. Nulla da dire sulla qualità del cibo ma dopo 4 giorni a Venezia devo dire che ho trovato ristoranti di pari qualità a prezzi più corretti.

The picture in the listing is NOT at this restaurant! We came expecting to see this beautiful view and we’re disappointed that it’s just an indoor restaurant. The food was good, not great. The appetizer of whipped potatoes with meatballs was WONDERFUL. Had carbonara and duck for dinner. Duck was very good, carbonara was just okay. This place was recommended to us from a few people in some Facebook groups as the best meal they ate in Italy, and we would not agree with this. But it’s good!

Si mangia bene e rappresenta una sosta comoda, ma è davvero troppo caro. Basta segnalare i 5 euro a coperto + il 10% di servizio obbligatorio. Un dettaglio: il parmigiano non viene lasciato al tavolo ma a ogni commensale che lo richieda vengono serviti due cucchiaini direttamente dal cameriere che poi lo porta via.

I am surprised that this restaurant is included in the Michelin guide. All dishes I have ordered, were far from a desired quality and taste. White asparagus was overcooked and watery (28 euro), canne…

Recensione per il Ristorante I Condottieri La mia esperienza al ristorante ai gondolieri è stata, purtroppo, deludente. A parte il vino, che era abbastanza buono, il cibo è stato una vera delusione. Ho avuto l’impressione di mangiare solo sale, il che ha reso il pasto quasi immangiabile. Devo dire che la mia fidanzata, che sta attraversando un periodo difficile, ha trovato il suo piatto abbastanza buono, il che è stato un piccolo sollievo. Tuttavia, il conto finale di 140 €, anche con lo sconto, è stato decisamente eccessivo per quello che abbiamo ricevuto. Approposito neanche lo scontrino grazie sara un piacere tornare a mangiare sale

Ci siamo seduti di fronte a questo ristorante in una gradinata e la proprietaria minacciandoci ci ha lavate con la pompa. Sconsigliattissimo andate nei due di fronte, si paga meno e si mangia meglio !!!!

The bridge in front is city bridge and not the restaurants- people are sitting on the steps enjoying their Venice time and this rude Italian from the restaurant is telling people to move to another side of the bridge in a very rude way - not asking but actually being very stern and rude to everyone sitting there 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
