The king crab legs are juicy juicy juicy! Our server was fabulous and the atmosphere was lovely. A Saturday night date night this was a great choice by the water. What was great about the arrival and departure i.e. the parking and parking lot was the fact that there were two men working guiding people to specific parking spots and making sure that the cars were safe and the lot was well maintained. Such a nice touch✌️ And by the way there was some wonderful music playing in the background it was more like the music you might hear at an Italian café… it was absolutely divine. I could see other people were also there for date night as well it seems like quite a popular restaurant and when you factored in that it’s right beside the water I guess romantic can also be used to describe this little gem.
The food here was amazing! The 4 of us shared a pound of the stone crab, which was incredible. The clam chowder was some of the best I've ever had! Rick in the marina helped us get a spot to park the boat which was above and beyond. Can't say enough good things about this place and and the people here. I'll certainly be back!!!
A reservation is recommended. We had the Mahi tacos with onion rings and coleslaw. It was all prepared very well. BTw, I think the coleslaw was perfect! Luis gets an A+ as a waiter. Great view of the North Venice Inlet and Snake Island. Strongly recommend.
We always have a great time at the Crow’s Nest. The staff is fantastic, the drinks are great, and the ambience is spot-on. The food is excellent—especially the fish, soups, and seafood, all top-notch quality. Hands down one of our favorites. We also love renting bikes and heading into Venice—always a fun adventure. The dock staff is helpful and friendly, and it’s an easy stop by boat for fuel or a pump-out. Highly recommend.
Hidden Gem on literally the edge of town. Just a few blocks from busy Venice Ave at the end of the road is the crows nest. There was a line to get in so We first said we were just drinking and sent us upstairs for a seat that the bar. The bartender was amazing and suggested we try the clam chowder and steamed mussels, we did and they were both so good I forgot to take good photos- when we are back in Venice we will definitely go back for an actual supper.
Food was amazing. My husband is very picky about fish and he ordered the grouper which he said was very tasty. Dustin was our waiter and he was very nice and always made sure our drinks were full. He made our experience even better. Thank you.
A friend we hadn't seen in year was in town and wanted to meet at The Crows Nest! What. A Great place! We sat upstairs had a table NOT by the window but no problem the view was perfect from our table! Fish sandwich with so good! The guys had the Blackend mahi tacos! Devin! Can't get much better then that!!
My husband and I recently had dinner at the Crow’s Nest. Everything was delicious- the bread bowl, the salad, the bouillabaisse, and the key lime pie! Everything was plentiful, fresh and beautifully served!
Dinner was excellent. Rib eye cooked to perfection. Scallops were yummy. Caesar salad, perfect. Server Carly was congenial & honest w her suggestions. 1st times visit. We will be back 👍 👍
Delightful restaurant with excellent food. Each appetizer was delicious, each entree was prepared with great attention to detail and spiced beautifully. Even the fresh made bread came with not just butter but oil and hummus. Haddock was the best I ever had. Service was prompt, professional and pleasant. 2nd floor restaurant has lovely views of the Venice Inlet by the jetties. Downstairs is less formal with more budget friendly options. Reservations are a must upstairs.
Greeted warmly upon entering. Choose to eat upstairs. Clean and inviting. We ordered the special: Salmon Cake on buns with house made chips. Excellent! Generous portion, well priced. Attentive service.
This might be my favorite restaurant I have EVER Been too! Maybe it was the magical combination of the view, the atmosphere ( date night spot!) & the amazing service and food. Everything we had was mouth watering. The atmosphere and service was amazing! And for what you get great price point. Highly recommend the lobster 🦞 tail! The muscles are the best I have ever had ANYWHERE!!! The escargot is the best I have ever had anywhere ❤️. I can't wait to go back & don't forget desert!!!!
Fantastic place for some fresh seafood after a day at the beach. The view from the upstairs outdoor patio was amazing. The fried grouper was cooked perfectly and the raw oysters were delicious. We will definitely return
Excellent place to have dinner on the water, go for just drinks and the dessert is fantastic. Upstairs has the best view and you should make a reservation! The food is amazing! Our waitress was great! The young people doing the seating were less than to be desired as it was very obvious they were over whelmed and over done with tourists. Thankfully the experience was salvaged after we were seated.
Our family recently celebrated our dad's 90th birthday on a Sunday evening (4:30) upstairs in the dinning room. 9 of us. The food was great and the service exceptional. Our dad is 90 but looks and acts like a much younger person. He totally enjoyed the experience. Our waiter was the best I've had in a long long time. So polite and completely on top of his game. The hat was a b-day gift from his grandson who came up from Costa Rica. (Dad would never wear a hat in a restaurant). This was the 3rd dinner we experienced at the Crows Nest and we've ALWAYS enjoyed the service and food. One negative, my wife and I got there early and wanted a drink downstairs. The greeter was so nasty, I almost canceled the reservation. What a sour puss. Cooler heads prevailed and the two bartenders were fantastic.
Dustin provided very attentive service. Great view from the outside terrace. Had a Pain Killer. Wife had the Chicken Salad Sandwich on a croissant with the homemade chips. Mom had the Ruben & fries.Friend had the Grouper sandwich. We all enjoyed.
Had a great time, service was super and the food was just what we needed.
The restaurant has an amazing view of the waterway and marina. The food was very good as was tbe service. Get a reservation or be prepared to wait. The very best key lime pie in FL.
Went out to celebrate at the Crow’s Nest and what a wonderful meal. Service was on point and dinner was delicious. Highly recommend making reservations. We sat in their outdoor area, that was closed in for the season and it was very comfortable and made well for a romantic evening.
I stopped by Crows nest as I was craving oysters 🦪 for my bday. I sat in the bar in the downstairs tavern. The Coldwater oysters were delicious 😋, painkiller was strong and delightful, tuna entree was alright, good, but not the best I ve had (will opt out for a different entree perhaps next time, or will just have more oysters : )). When I was talking to other patrons at the bar, the bartender overheard it was my bday, so she brought out a slice of key lime pie. Sooo nice of her , and it was yummy. Looking forward to other visits to this lovely spot on the water in beautiful Venice, FL.
So glad we found this local gem. The location is unbelievable and it's so fun to watch The Manatees and dolphins in the bay. We were the watching boats come in and out and had wonderful service and delicious food. My husband had the burger with fries and he said it was literally the best burger of his life and I had the chicken panko salad with strawberries and feta and it was delicious. Im going to steal the recipe and make it when I get home! We sat outside and the breeze was refreshing during midday. We can't wait to come back. Ask for an outside seat you won't regret it! And say hi to Pepe the green parrot for us on the way out!😁
Marvelous second floor overlook dining. Best grouper in the area. Best Crab cakes in the area. And crème brûlée is outstanding. Want to come back tomorrow! Not typical tourist food. Greasy fried is not here.
Very nice restaurant with great service. Get there before 5 pm to have the specials on the upstairs enclosed deck. If you like oysters they have blue point and pei oysters that are tasty. I had the best triple tail fish special I have ever had anywhere. Their holiday bread pudding was a delight. Let's keep this place a secret between you and me.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The service is always outstanding here as is the food. A reservation is definitely needed if you want to eat upstairs. The parking can be a problem especially in high season so keep that in mind. We went in August so parking wasn't too bad. Our reservation was for 5:15 and we were done and out by 6;15. A great restaurant for any type of fish, drinks and views.
The view is absolutely beautiful. Food, service and atmosphere are as amazing as the view. The menu covers everything from seafood, beef, pork and pasta. Do not miss the opportunity to be treated to a fantastic experience. I must also mention the tasty cocktails. Happy eating!
Great food, great service. Best Ahi Tuna in Venice. Oysters on the half shell, coconut shrimp, grouper sandwich, flourless chocolate cake
Loved it! The food and service was amazing! I had the Mahi tacos and hubby had the Mahi sandwich. Both were so good! The view of the water is awesome from upstairs. Not too hot. It was a great time. Wish we could have tried more things on the menu!
We enjoyed meeting friends here; a half-way point for us between Ft. Myers and St. Petersburg. This is a very busy eatery within a Marina and has nice water and boat views. The food is outstanding! There are two bars; one downstairs and another upstairs. Oysters are offered in different types of options. The escargot was a great decision after seeing many reviews suggesting them if you like them. I have to agree, get them here if you like escargot. Their famous fish sandwich was huge! All portions were large servings and don't miss out on their own potato chips 😋. Parking is at a minimum; you can park at the jetty and it's a short walk and they have a golf cart offering to take you to and from. We enjoyed the upstairs outside seating; weren't rushed so it was a good choice!
We had lunch today on the porch. It was a typical hot Fl day, but we were under cover, and they had the fans going, which made it comfortable. We were seated at a table facing the inlet. Beautiful view. Our waitress was excellent and attentive. The food is always good at the Crows Nest. This is always a favorite destination when we go to Venice. It's well worth the hour drive.
Wonderful place with excellent views of the water and boating activity. The food was excellent, I had a blackened mahi sandwich with ginger aioli and fries , my wife had the fried shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach , both were great for our lunch .The staff is wonderful as was our waiter Anthony. I think this is ne of the best seafood and turf restaurants in Venice, give a try.
I must say, I'm impressed! My wife and I eat at alot of places and this was by far the best! Dustin was our server and was the most accommodating person for all of my wife's allergies. He listed the popular items and specials and I had the Key Largo grouper. It was also my wife's birthday and Dustin surprised her with the sorbet which exceeded her expectations for her food allergies. Great job Dustin, we'll be back!
Eating at the Crow’s Nest has been one of the best dining experiences we’ve had since my wife was diagnosed with celiac disease and a wheat allergy. Gluten-free options are clearly marked on the menu, either naturally gluten free or easily modified. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the kitchen’s allergy protocols and made us feel completely confident about avoiding cross-contamination. My wife had the gluten-free clam chowder, paprika-dusted sea scallops, and crème brûlée, with no symptoms the day of or the day after. I had the escargot and steamed mussels, and both were absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a great vibe, and every plate of food that passed by our table had us drooling. Excellent food, attentive service, and a truly safe and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend—and for a server, ask for Cody if you can!
Celebrated a friend’s birthday at the Crow’s Nest. We were seated in a private party room. The entire evening was top notch. The atmosphere was cozy and private. The staff was friendly and available all evening. Most of our group ordered seafood dishes and everyone had nothing but compliments on their orders. My lobster tails were delicious and cooked just right. Sides were also very good. Cost is moderate to high in my opinion, but based on the service and the quality of food that was prepared and served, I would highly recommend the Crow’s Nest.
Crow’s Nest Restaurant We stopped by Crow’s Nest on a chilly Thursday for a quick lunch and it turned into such a lovely experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and just as we sat down the sun came out, making it even better. The food was excellent. We had the grouper sandwiches, a classic Caesar salad, and the oysters Rockefeller, which were especially tasty and full of flavor. Everything came out fresh and well prepared. A special highlight of our visit was Alexandra. The level of service Alexandra delivered was truly outstanding. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients, offered great suggestions, and checked on us multiple times to make sure we were fully satisfied. If you are ever there, ask for Alexandra and you will be in great hands. Great food, great service, and a perfect spot for a casual lunch. We will definitely be back.
We had a fantastic experience and meal at Crows Nest this evening. Everything was above and beyond. We started with drinks in the Tavern until our table was ready upstairs in the Main Restaurant. The outdoor seating area was beautiful and a comfortable evening with direct views of the water. Shelley, our server, couldn’t have been better. She made great recommendations and our three filets were prepared perfectly. Highly recommended.
I found this place on a reservation recent weekend trip to the area. The atmosphere was great located in a marina overlooking the waterway. We sat upstairs and outside. Our waiter was great and very helpful. Started out with the escargot which was excellent and rounded the meal out with the chicken piccata, which was also amazing. (I was a little seafooded out) had a great experience from start to finish.
We dined here for our 22nd Anniversary. This purely booked based on the name, but it did not disappoint. The service was on point, the food came out at a good pace and everything was excellent. We also left with a much appreciated gift from our server and the manager. Highly recommended and the next time we’re in Venice this will be on our list.
What a gem! The location and view were spectacular, with outdoor heaters to take the cool off the breezy evening. Shelley was very knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent suggestions. The calamari, blackened Mahi, ginger-sesame grouper& shrimp, the asparagus, mashed potatoes, and cheesecake were delicious. Bravo, Brent! Can't wait to sample more.
We stayed at the marina and ate at the restaurant. Docks are OK. Careful if you have a slip and not one of the facing docks as it gets real shallow towards the wall. Staff are INCREDIBLE and the best I have seen. They were on the boat and setting lines before I even put the boat in neutral. Price was on the higher side for the marina, but no complaints. Believe it was 3.50 foot plus tax and forgot to add Boat US Discount. FOOD and Restaurant service unbelievably good. Everything was 5 star from the drinks to desert.
We have visited this area of Florida many times from the UK and thought we had tried most restaurants, however, yesterday evening we discovered this lovely restaurant, new to us. There are 2 eating areas to this establishment, a downstairs bar area and a more formal upstairs. There is a lift / elevator for those who find climbing stairs a challenge. Whe had booked to eat upstairs and, on arrival, were offered a choice of inside or outside dining. We chose to eat inside. We would suggest.making a reservation as the restaurant appeared mostly full. We were shown to our table immediately upon arrival and provided with menus and beverage lists. A comprehensive menu of appetisers, salads, entrees and specials. There was also a good selection of beers and wines which included many ales on draft. Ronda, our waitress, arrived promptly to take our order and answer any questions that we had. We ordered mushroom flatbread and a bowl of clam chowder. The portions of both dishes was generous and flavourful. We followed with entrees of filet steak with garlic mash & coleslaw and fried grouper & cocunut shrimp, with fries and coleslaw. Again, very good sized portions and nicely cooked. We accompanied the meal with a fresh orange juice and a draft Samuel Adams OctoberFest beer. Each course arrived in a timel manner. Throughout the meal, Ronda was attentive, chatty, approachable and very personable and made us feel very welcome. She acknowledged that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We would certainly recommend this restaurant to others and will go back there again. Thank you for a lovely meal. Total bill $128, which we felt was not excessive for the quality of this meal. Parking was slightly challenging, however we managed to park in the car park which is free and immediately outside the restaurant, including disabled bays.
Honestly really great place to go. Unless you are going to the super fancy upstairs that you need reservations for, just do the downstairs. Chill scene and good food. The staff is great and really do try to make things happen for you. Not super large inside, so definitely make a reservation!
Sandwiches were good. Food arrived shortly after placing the order and it was very hot. We had a very nice server who made good recommendations. Sitting on the deck was very nice and we enjoyed our visit. We had made reservations and do recommend it as this place can get very busy.
Nice restaurant with a bar, plus another bar downstairs that has a different menu than upstairs restaurant. You cannot order food from the downstairs menu (burgers, etc.) to be served upstairs. Parking lot was tight but we got there at 4:30 and had a primo spot. We had a window table with a water view, very pretty. Service is on point, we never had to ask for more water. Ribeye was very tasty but cut very thin so my medium steak was well done. Prix fixe menu page had some nice selections. Everyone said that their meals were tasty.
We ate the the Tavern (downstairs) of Crows Nest. Great location right on the water. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the hostess was super friendly. As for the food itself, it ranged from pretty good (mussels, clam chowder, escargot), to just ok (mushroom flatbread, Reuben). Service was not great unfortunately. Our server was inattentive throughout most of the evening, and in the end ended up applying our credit card to somebody else's bill, even though he brought out the correct paper check. The other problem was that their online menu has lower prices than their actual menu when you get there. Some items were up 25% more than their website (Yes I'm talking about the menu on their official website). Please update your site so you aren't misleading customers. I hate to leave less than a 5* review, but I feel like our experience here was just average.
Visiting Florida recently I tried to eat local as much as possible. The Crows Nest was suggested as a place to go. The food was good, I had the grouper bites with fries. The bites were lightly breaded and cooked well but did stand out. They have all sorts of meals that sounded good. The service was good. The view was great. Overall good experience and I would go back.
We enjoyed The Crow's nest. We had a liter dinner reservation but got there early and were able to eat about 1 hour earlier than our reservation by sitting out on the covered deck. They have heaters which kept everybody warm and great service and good food. We will be back.
We haven't been here since before Ian and were looking forward to enjoying the delicious food we remembered the previous times we came. We sat in the bar area which was not very busy at the time. Our service was a bit slow. My husband got a blackend grouper sandwich. It had a slight fish smell when it came out and the flavor just wasn't there. Later that night he had really bad bloating. I had the meatloaf. It was ok. The garlic mashed and green beans were good. Overall we were not impressed with the food this time around. We will come back and try upstairs again as well since the menus are different. I am hopeful it was just a 1 time not so good experience. Once we come back and try again I can see of additional stars should be added.
Average in every way. Too pricey for just a view that lacks in service and food. We didn’t like it when they first opened and thought we would try it again because it’s conveniently located by our home, but I would rather drive off Island, my steak was undercooked, and my husband‘s was lacking in flavor. Wish it was better because it would be convenient to go there!
We didn't like the service of Luis the waiter. He doesn't seem to enjoy his job very much. The party next to us arrived way later, but they got their food before us. Seems like the waitresses are money hungry and care more for the tips of the retirees folks than a non yt regular family. Look for better options. We won't come back
We both got the classic fried fish sandwich. Unlike the many times we have gotten this before, there was very little meat - maybe two tablespoons! The crust filled our plate, but you could break off large chucks with no meat in it . Also, the coleslaw was so creamy it was barely edible. For a first class restaurant this meal was like a bad joke! We probably won't be back.
