We were looking for a place to eat, a kind man told us to check the menu first and then decide, we did. And we were amazed! Ordered all the specials - to share, no problem with that, and a bottle of Véneto Prosecco. It was a bit cold, so we asked to change to the heated area, no problem there also. Tried the tiramisu and the chocolate pie which were mind blowing! So glad we visited and enjoyed a great dinner! It is underrated! Definitely recommend!

Raw seafood from the market as starters, unreal. Crab pasta and guinea fowl plums pasta were divine. Everything including service was fantastic. Tables by the canal are lovely. A gem in Venice.

Lovely spot seated by one of the many canals. This was probably the best meal we had in Venice. The staff were super nice even after we were 10 minutes late to our reservation. Great food, good portions.

Our favourite meal from our stay in Venice. Highly recommend. We nearly skipped it because we had a seafood allergy and lots of seafood on the menu, but ordered what they had with non seafood and it was absolutely delicious. Beef carpaccio, beef gnocchi and the peaches with fennel and pink peppercorn were a highlight. We turned up without a booking and the staff were friendly and fitted us in on a great table next to the canal. If we come back to Venice in future would definitely dine here again, highly recommend!

Beautifully located right on a quiet canal in Cannaregio, Osteria Da Rioba serves honest, high-quality Venetian food without any unnecessary fuss. Many dishes are simple in the best sense – perfectly cooked with top-quality ingredients, some even coming straight from their own garden on San Erasmo. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service warm and attentive, and it feels like a place where locals and visitors alike can enjoy the essence of Venetian cuisine. A perfect spot to slow down and savor great food by the water.

We got lucky to drop by early and they had a table for 2 available without a reservation. our order: Buffalo Mozzarella Caprese Carpaccio Baked Monkfish handmade pasta ragu note: serving is small or rather a healthy portion size.

This spot came highly recommended and did not disappoint! Definitely recommend making a reservation but we went over almost 2 hours early in hopes of eating earlier and got sat within 30 minutes of getting there! The same people own/operate a lovely natural wine bar next door that’s great for getting a drink while you wait. The service is amazing, our server made delicious wine recs and we loved all the food. Really friendly and warm place, we sat outside even though it was raining and didn’t mind at all, nice heaters and beautiful canal-side atmosphere. Come support this place for sure!

We went for my birthday meal and it was the best choice. What a wonderful restaurant with excellent and knowledgeable staff who are so helpful - the homemade pasta is the best we've eaten in years, everything was of the highest standard and cooked to perfection. The wine selection is great, the ambience is lovely - everything from the tables to the glasses was just perfect without being over the top. It is not cheap of course but considering the quality of the food, drinks and service, it's worth every penny. Would strongly recommend.

Lovely restaurant on a quiet canal. Service is friendly, but yes, at a leisurely (slow) pace. We spent about €80 for two people. This included two glasses of wine, a cheese plate, a salad, a main, and a dessert.

This is a restaurant that is hidden towards the back of the main street of the island. We were looking for another restaurant that turned out to be close for lunch, so we walked in here. The food was delicious and the restaurant was very nice and quiet. I love to step away from the hustle and bustle for a nice quiet meal. The presentation of the food was beautiful and the quality was fresh. Small portions for a light lunch with room for dessert and drinks.

Primo maggio assolato a Canareggio, scelto perché meno turistico e affollato di altri luoghi veneziani. Abbiamo pranzato fuori, su comode sedie da regista, ma anche dentro è carino. Personale disponibile e gentile. Antipasto di piovra in due, gnocchi al gransoporo, cappellacci al formaggio di fossa e zucca, vino due Malvasia molto profumato. Tutto ottimo, gusti delicati e ben equilibrati. Prezzi veneziani (ho confrontato altri posti simili, non eccessivamente turistici, ed erano simili).

Posto incantevole, siamo riuscite a trovare un tavolino per due e incastrarci fra l’orario aperitivo e cena. Abbiamo diviso un antipasto misto di mare con moscardini, sardine e cozze, poi due primi e due calici. Alla fine un dolce al cucchiaio al pistacchio. Tutto molto buono e curato nei dettagli. Ho sinceramente apprezzato la presentazione dei piatti. Conto nella media per il posto. Ci tornerei volentieri. Una stella in meno solo per la seduta un po’ traballante.

Osteria che propone sia piatti tipici della tradizione veneta (sarde in saor, antipasti misti), sia piatti un po' più elaborati (come il risotto alla salvia con triglie croccanti - che consiglio vivamente di assaggiare). Nessuna sorpresa nel conto, in linea con con un qualunque ristorante di pesce anche di terraferma. Unica nota negativa: il caffè non eccezionale. Da tenere presente - anche se un po' fuori dalle rotte più frequentate della città - per quando fate un viaggio a Venezia. Location: 8 - è molto suggestivo mangiare a bordo di un canale in una zona tranquilla della città, fuori dai grandi flussi turistici. Menù: 7 - non c'è grande varietà di scelta, ma ogni piatto è cucinato con molta cura. Servizio: 10 - personale davvero gentile e disponibile. Conto: 9 - in linea con quanto mangiato e nemmeno troppo caro per essere a Venezia.

We had a mixed experience overall. The food was fine – we tried the octopus salad, half a portion of pasta, and a dessert, all nicely presented but not remarkable. The service was quite pushy, and we felt a bit rushed. The half liter of house wine for €24 was surprisingly strong and didn’t feel worth the price. We ended up paying around €260, which seemed high for what we had. If everyone had ordered full portions, the bill would have been around 500 euros. Pleasant atmosphere, but not one we’d hurry back to.

Went there twice within a week, the first time because it was close to the hotel, the second time because we enjoyed the first visit so much. Not having booked on both occasions the manager was kind enough to accommodate use outside under heating lamps. The food was delicious, small portions but they add up if one goes for the classic four course scenario as is tradition in Italy. We had amazing sea food, very quaffable house wine and desserts (which were good but not outstanding).

I had been Rioba twice , the first time I will say 5 of 5. I had recommended from the waitress which was good one. The mixed vegetable from local island was fantastic. The raw seafood platter was so fresh. With the Prosecco. Fabulous . Second time . I ‘ve been I ordered raw seafood and crab linguine. Raw seafood was still nice . The crab one just so so. How many seafood , pizza and spaghetti you ate and would not felt sick? 3 days I think

With great food, we felt like back in school with a very strict teacher that watches your every move. When we asked about olive oil with the bread, we were told that giving it to every patron will cause the restaurant to run out of too quickly. So the answer was no. At 100 euro plus for a bill, I find this extremely square and unwelcoming. The food itself was nothing to complain about but also nothing extraordinary for Venice. I would not come back even if I had a chance.

Average service but could have been better. ie. we asked for olive oil to go with our bread but was not given till our 3rd attempt. Food wise its nicely presented highly recommend the appetizers which i realise are authentic venezian dishes. I would say in terms of taste its my 2nd best restaurant. Bill was resonably priced. would recommend covering your drinks. somehow my honey liquor had those mini insects dipping and finally drowning.. sigh..

Avevo qualche aspettativa in più e forse questo mi condiziona. Il cibo è buono ma mi aspettavo forse qualcosina in più sia sulla qualità che sulla ricerca, considerando che abbiamo speso 50 € a persona per un menù di due portate senza dolce né caffè. Servizio discreto ma non entusiasta, luogo apprezzabile in riva al Rio de la Misericordia.

Abbiamo cenato con amici che già conoscevano il posto, di sabato sera, in questa bella osteria nella zona vivacissima di fondamenta della Misericordia. Ambiente da osteria moderna, tavoli ben distanziati (noi all'interno ma ci sono molti tavoli lungo il canale all'esterno) e servizio cortese. Menu piuttosto "corto" ma questo spesso è sinonimo di esecuzione perfetta; stavolta però -personalmente- abbiamo trovato parecchie sbavature: gratinati dall'antipasto misto freddi, risotto slegato e un po troppo cotto, olio cottura da perfezionare. Crudo freschissimo ed eccellente, dolci nella media. Si vede che la cucina punta a innovare e sperimentare, ma deve sistemare alcuni dettagli.

Posto bello, servizio eccellente. Forse un po' azzardato l'accostamento del primo, antipasto ottimo, dolce buono. Ma ho mangiato di gusto e il vino della casa non è male. Indeciso per il voto, ma il prezzo un po' eccessivo, altrimenti avrei dato 4*

Bella la location e ottimo il servizio. La qualità è certamente superiore alla media (ma per i miei gusti non al top), ed anche avere il tavolo a ridosso del canale in una bella serata di luglio ha il suo prezzo. La spesa però è stata decisamente troppo alta. Meriterebbre 3.5 stelle.

Il ristorante mantiene una sua identità, nel triste panorama generale della ristorazione a Venezia. Prezzi non modici, ma in linea con quelli di altri locali.

Bella osteria moderna con pochi coperti ma ben spaziati. Carta corta e ricercata con soluzioni tradizionali, carta vini ampia con poca scelta sui lagunari quasi esclusivamente macerati. Il servizio, inesperto con diverse storpiature, non ci hanno indicato il tavolo dove sederci all'arrivo, briciole di sughero nel bicchiere d'assaggio per il quale abbiamo dovuto incalzare il cameriere per il cambio. Altra stortura i camerieri fissano i tavoli continuamente e sono risultati troppo insistenti nello sgombero dei piatti ancora prima di finire e per ben 2 volte. I piatti sono gourmet, bene il crudo di pesce, meno bene il fuori menù i carciofi non era chiaro se fossero le famose castrature del violetto di Sant'Erasmo, sicuramente non ne aveva il sapore, quantità molto esigua per 18€ di portara tagliata a crudo e condita sale e olio. Sottotono anche i primi gli spaghetti con le vongole e asparagi e le reginette di faraona, poco saporite, slegate dal condimento e non al dente. Sconfortati dall'esperienza non abbiamo indugiato secondi e i dolci.

La mia recensione su basa sulla pessima qualità di preparazione dei 4 fritti ordinati, purtroppo erano immangiabili, nessun sapore se non quello dell' olio di frittura, oltretutto usato più e più volte ,una delusione!!! più fortunati i commensali che hanno ordinato gli spaghetti e il piatto tipico veneziano. Prezzi medio alti,assolutamente non in linea con la qualità

Esperienza pessima. La mia compagna ha ordinato un contorno da avere vicino al primo e il cameriere si é rifiutato dicendo "queste cose noi non le facciamo. Che vuole, anche il cappuccino a fine cena?". Una spocchia ed un servizio pessimo, il peggiore in Italia secondo solo a Como. Inoltre, nel mio piatto ho trovato anche una spina nel pesce molto pericolosa, e lo stesso cameriere ha commentato dicendo "significa che é fresco". Questi "professionisti" dovrebbero ringraziare i clienti che vengono da loro invece di trattarli male.
