Entering this restaurant is like going back in time. In a good way. Waiters (all male of course 😉) in white jackets and ties, white tablecloths and napkins, crockery bearing the Santa Lucia logo, walls adorned with autographed photos of bygone and current stars (apparently this was Frank Sinatra’s go-to in Milano.) We walked in a 7pm with no reservation and they were able to accommodate us as dinner in Italy is usually a later affair. The restaurant was steadily filling up throughout our meal, including with a local regular who knew everyone by name and vice versa. She was a very chic woman so good people watching also :) Excellent vitello milanese and perfect Aperol spritz (generous pour and not too sweet). We didn’t get to try the Neapolitan dishes which is what they’re known for and we’re looking forward to having pizza here. Fair prices. Waiters are busy and helpful. Our waiter called us a taxi as our kids were jet lagged and fast asleep at the table — oops. And he sent us off with a generously filled bag of cookies for the kiddos. I wish I could remember his name.. Here’s a photo of him in action. Grazie mille! Cover charge is €4,50 per person (this is normal in Italy) and they only charged for the 2 adults. By the way, our taxi driver Alberto was such a lovely gentleman and was gracious about my daughter throwing up in his cab (remember the bag of cookies? We never got to taste them as that was the first bag I could grab…) Please do call him for your excursions outside Milano or any other driving you need… he deserves the good karma and clientele. I don’t understand how this restaurant can be so underrated here, because this place is delicious! The pasta with bolognese sauce was amazing! The steak was butter soft, just missed a bit of salt, but you can add up yourself at the table. The service was also great in my experience, really nice “Italian” atmosphere!

At a walking distance from duomo, perfect traditional looking Italian restaurant with yummy Italian food. The manager and the server were great people and feel free to ask for their recommendations. Becomes crowded at meal time so reserve before going.

After reading the reviews, I was extremely scared... but I was hungry and we couldn’t find a restaurant without the pictures on the menu (which is an absolute no) we came in at around 3 (which is unusual for lunch) and they have welcomed us open arms, smiling and nice. Although we do not speak Italian, our waiter did not speak a word of English to us, but we understood each other perfectly and he did not treat us any differently. Always smiling and singing ! The food was really tasty, even though it was simply pasta, it was cooked to perfection and tasted fresh and delicious. They did invoice a cover charge, and for the stale basket of bread, but to be honest, service was so nice that it didn’t matter much. All you need to know is that even though you’re a tourist, don’t act like you own the place, just be nice and they will be nice to you too! Go for this spot, it’s just perfect !

Ho apprezzato molto il ristorante per la sua cucina deliziosa e il servizio veloce. Il cameriere era gentile, anche se ho trovato i prezzi un po' alti. Nel complesso, è stata un'esperienza positiva che rifarei volentieri!

Do questo giudizio perché sono stato una sola volta quindi la mia esperienza è limitata, altrimenti ne avrei date 2 di stelle. Partiamo dal fatto che, a differenza di tutti gli ristoranti in centro a Milano, questo non esponeva il menù completo ma solo quello con i piatti del giorno. Come detto da altri il coperto è di €4.50, ben scritto nel menu principale (che non è esposto), prezzo assolutamente esagerato anche xké poi ti portano il pane dentro un sacchetto di carta (allego foto). Il locale è old style, diciamo anni 70-80, può anche piacere, a me no. Anche i camerieri sono old style, ma non è una critica. Prezzi del menù a mio modo di vedere esagerati, non siamo in galleria Vittorio Emanuele...ma i prezzi sono quelli più o meno. Lascio foto del QR code così potete consultarlo. Abbiamo preso le trofie al pesto e gli gnocchi alla sorrentina, entrambi i piatti erano buoni, niente da dire, le trofie erano deliziose. La mia esperienza è stata limitata, i piatti che abbiamo mangiato erano buoni ma francamente non valgono il prezzo, non tornerei in questo ristorante, più adatto ai turisti.

In pieno centro storico, ristorante del 1929 Il servizio è un po' distaccato è vero, ma a noi ha servito Beppe che invece é cordiale e simpatico. Cibo buono, vino pure. Location interna molto caratteristica, dehor classico ma elegante. Toilette scomoda per chi ha problemi di deambulazione.

Una delle più belle tradizioni milanesi era che dopo teatro potessi andare ad un posto storico come Santa Lucia dove squisite pietanze ti aspettavano per chiudere la serata. Oggi il posto è praticamente vuoto dopo teatro, sia il cast scaligero che i frequentatori hanno (o abbiamo) deciso di cambiare posto, perché Santa Lucia oggi vive solo dei ricordi e qualche turista sperduto che ha fame dopo l’ora di cena. Il locale è vecchio e non curato. I piatti, coperti e bicchieri sono osceni. Il pane dentro una orrenda borsa di carta te lo butta in tavolo un scorbutico cameriere anziano senza la minore idea di cosa significa qualità di servizio, e fa ancora più delusione che il costo del coperto è di €4,5! Essendo una pizzeria napoletana, ho ordinato la pizza di prosciutto crudo… invece è arrivata una pizza di dimensioni ridicole e palesemente surgelata. L’unico motivo per cui do 3 stelle è perché hanno la cucina aperta fino tardi, ma la qualità nel servizio, la proposta del cibo e il fascino scaduto del locale, non lasciano nessuna voglia di tornare.

Food was great. Atmosphere was good. Service was also very friendly. But when it csme to payment part - they gave us totally wrong bill, and basically we paid for another table. Price was almost the same, but positipns were different and after we ask about it waiter start to tell some mistery stuff like Limoncela shots are same stuff as a beer and we paid a lot more in general. No energy to discuss, we just left, and it was sad experience, even that everyting was good and tasty.

For this restaurant, I struggled to give a 4-star. But for its ambience, yes, it is 4-star because of its location——on a small lane near Corso Vittoria Emmanuele II. Their food pricing is like any major city elsewhere. Spaghetti with clams €22, with prawns €30, wine €8, dessert €10. Do note that, while it is uncommon in smaller towns in Italy, this restaurant in Milan charges Coperto (cover charge) €4,50 per pax, which includes bread. We were given a basket of bread to share, but the bill showed €9 for 2 persons.

Per essere un ristorante storico frequentato anche da persone note, pensavamo molto meglio. Tra i piatti scelti abbiamo apprezzato solo i pizzoccheri, la mini pizza stile “pizza surgelata” potrebbero evitare di tenerla in carta viste le recensioni negative anche degli altri utenti. Il prezzo del coperto è elevato e la cortesia e professionalità del servizio potrebbero essere migliorate. L’ambiente classico con foto di personaggi famosi alle pareti non sarebbe male, anche se i posti sono piuttosto stretti e il bagno si trova al piano di sotto.

Locale storico, pieno centro, nulla da dire, arredo vecchiotto penso per scelta, molte foto di personaggi famosi con autografo alle pareti... l'ambiente può piacere o meno, la delusione è stata sul cibo. Me ne avevano parlato come un posto con una buona cucina dalle influenze partenopee e invece abbiamo mangiato male e spendendo tanto (che vabbè, a Milano in centro e per il salone, cosa ti vuoi aspettare? Xò c'è un limite alla decenza). Spaghetti alle vongole che erano semplici spaghetti all'olio d'oliva con 8 vongole buttate lì, prezzemolo e aglio da cercare con la lente d'ingrandimento... Nessun sapore se nn quello dell'olio. Pessimi. L'altro primo, spaghetti con alici e cime di rapa era leggermente più saporito ma anche in quel caso si trattava di ingredienti buttati lì, senza mantecatura, senza amalgama, nulla. Due calici di vino normalissimo, due caffè. 70€. Il servizio, anche se scostante e poco cordiale (come la maggior parte dei servizi milanesi) è stato cmq veloce e puntuale. Forse per la qualità bisognerebbe tornarci in periodi meno caotici, anche se, un ristorante così rinomato non dovrebbe aver problemi di questo tipo con la maggiore affluenza, proprio perché già rodato e con esperienza.

Trattoria piccola con tavoli appiccicati che a passarci in mezzo ai paura di urtare le persone. Abbiamo preso due pizze veramente pessime, piccolissime e piene di olio, anche il contorno con un litro d’olio scarso. Il personale arrogante e scortese. Prezzi carissimi. Evitate, c’è decisamente di meglio!

Nonostante avessimo prenotato una settimana prima ci hanno messo in un tavolo strettissimo fra più tavoli in cui era difficile deambulare. Il locale era molto caotico ed era difficile capire le conversazioni con gli altri. Una misera insalata di carciofi a 17 euro in un piattino che bastava a malapena per una persona. La pasta sinceramente non era delle migliori, il sugo era acido e raffazzonato. Il vino pure era un po’ scadente. Insomma, non ritornerei.

Locale storico che ha dimenticato la qualità' Peccato! Affollatissimo, servizio d'altri tempi ma tutto si ferma qui. La pizza (inserita nelle specialità' napoletane)e' un offesa! Oltre tutto costa 19€!!!!

Esperienza davvero pessima. Sono stato in questo ristorante con aspettative abbastanza alte, vista la posizione e le recensioni, ma purtroppo è stata una delle peggiori esperienze che mi siano capitate a Milano. Il problema principale è stato il servizio: camerieri scortesi, poco professionali e con un atteggiamento quasi infastidito nei confronti dei clienti. Ogni richiesta sembrava un problema e l’impressione era quella di non essere affatto benvenuti. Sul cibo purtroppo non va molto meglio: qualità piuttosto deludente rispetto ai prezzi. Piatti nella media, senza nulla di speciale, e sicuramente non all’altezza. Con tutta l’offerta che c’è in città, sinceramente non vedo alcun motivo per tornare. Esperienza negativa sotto tutti i punti di vista.

Un'esperienza davvero orribile per essere in Italia. Ho ordinato una pizza da asporto e mi è stato consegnata una schifezza, e l'ho pagata 9€. Sembrava una pizza di quelle surgelate del supermercato. L'ho fatta vedere al responsabile dicendo chiedendogli se a lui pareva una pizza e lui mi ha risposto "in che senso?" . Non voglio disprezzare ma la pizza dei kebab è molto meglio!!!!

È la seconda volta che torniamo in questo posto consigliato e storico di Milano, anche se abbiamo prenotato abbiamo aspettato mezz’ora per poi avere un tavolo in cui non c’era spazio neanche per girarsi e mangiare con comodità. I camerieri ti passano con i piatti sopra la testa, il pane anche se non chiesto ti viene portato appena lo finisci e aggiunto in cassa alla modica cifra di 4,50 €. Oltre al locale che risulta piccolo e fuori dalle norme di sicurezza, perché per far sedere più gente possibile i tavoli sono attaccati l’uno all’altro, il cibo non rispecchia i prezzi. La qualità è veramente bassa e dopo aver mangiato mi sono sentita male, evidentemente il pesce non era stato conservato nella giusta maniera. Da sconsigliare e non ritornare.

Oh dear. Give this place a miss is my advice. I've eaten better pizza from a UK supermarket - they should be embarrassed to bring it out of the kitchen. The anchovy starter tasted like something out of a can. Water wasn't cold. And I spotted dishes of pre cooked veg waiting to be warmed up. Service was indifferent at best. It gave us a laugh anyway. The worst meal we ate in 2 weeks in Italy. Shame on then.

Don’t waste your money . We ordered 3 dishes and had to order pizza. They were impossible to eat . Beef carpaccio wasn’t fresh. Only pizza was good . Wasted over 100 euros. Water saw we were not happy at all but decided to ignore it

Been in Italy for about two months now. This restaurant had the worst food we have had here in that two months. On top of that, it was 30 euros for a small pizza, and a small boiled vegetable plate (see photo). I have to admit that the service was good and it has a convenient location, but for 30 euros in Italy you can find so much better than a wet floppy dough tiny pizza and a small boiled vegetable.

The food was bellow average, but the service was really bad. The waiters were arrogant and waited a long time before taking our order although we were the only customers in the outdoor area. We saw one of them take a piece of the bread which was offered to us and eat it. The pastas were okayish but the stake was not rare as requested. We asked to pay by card, the waiter brought the check and probably forgot our request. When we reminded him, he told us to pay inside even though he had a POS machine with him.

As a tourist visiting the area, I’d hoped to enjoy a warm, authentic Italian meal here. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by inconsistent service and glaring oversights that left me feeling unwelcome compared to local patrons. While the staff appeared cheerful and attentive to nearby tables (greeting regulars by name and engaging in friendly banter), our table was treated with indifference from the start. For instance, other diners were promptly served bread with olive oil and vinegar, but despite requesting it twice, ours never arrived—a frustrating contrast. The food issues compounded the disappointment. I ordered the beef fillet medium rare, but it arrived overcooked, dry, and flavorless. When I politely pointed this out, the server dismissed my concern, insisting it was prepared correctly. After pressing further, the kitchen re-fired the dish to medium rare, but this "fix" came at a cost: the mixed salad I’d ordered at the beginning of the meal was completely forgotten. What stung most was the lack of accountability. The staff never apologized for the overcooked steak or missing salad, nor did they acknowledge the disparity in service. As a visitor, it felt disheartening to watch locals receive gracious, personalized attention while our table struggled to get basic requests fulfilled. While the corrected beef fillet was decent, the cumulative effect of dismissive service, uneven treatment, and unresolved errors overshadowed any redeeming qualities. For a restaurant that prides itself on Italian hospitality, this experience fell tragically short. I urge management to train staff on consistency and inclusivity—tourists and locals alike deserve respect and attention. Until then, I cannot recommend this restaurant to fellow travelers.
