Passed by this cute place and at first only noticed the terrace. Looking at the menu, we were pleasantly surprised to see only a small selection, unlike most of the restaurants in the area. After speaking to the lovely Chef Andrea we reserved a table for dinner and were not deceived; on the contrary. Michaela, our highly attentive waitress, proved to provide the best service I have experienced in years. Not only was she most knowledgeable about the dishes, but she was very helpful in selecting an appropriate wine. Side note: it takes courage and self-awareness for a restaurant in such a touristic destination to: a) limit its menu to insure quality of product and service and b) offer only wines from the immediate region Andrea and his team luckily seem to have a big pair of brass ones and succeeded. One had the impression that Michaela was always ready when you needed her and always gave us the proper space and time to enjoy a wonderful dinner and beautiful deep conversation. Try the lemon tarte or the tiramisù, they are to delicious!
We had a booking and could get a table inside the building. There were not many customers, yet it took a long time to get the menus and place a order. I think that a restaurant could do better and not give 5 adults only 3 menus. One of the desserts ordered did not even make it to the table. The seafood and desserts were a blast, they are the only reason to come back. The Caesar salad was a big portion, but it was mostly lettuce. The burrata pasta could have more taste to it. The house wine was a good deal, the prices were rather affordable. Overall, the food was great but the customer service needs some work.
We went there for lunch and dinner. Let’s start with the view just breath taking, you take about 15mn stairs from the train to get to that restaurant with this amazing view of the sea. We had lunch under the shade of an olive tree such a treat! The pasta was amazing, we tried both sea food and pesto! We had the tuna tartar, the fried sea food and the steamed fish. Last but not least the tiramisu 😍. Serving was really great despite being busy. I also tried the limoncello mustard be the best I ever had!
This was one of my favorite meals in all of Italy! My husband and I were staying in Corniglia and our airbnb host recommended this restaurant to us. The seafood pasta was one of the best I have ever had, and my husband said the same thing about the lasagna he ordered. The view was also amazing and was so peaceful. Highly recommend!
This meal was potentially the best we’ve had in Italy, and one of the most affordable sit down meals. We got the seafood salad and mixed salad and then the pesto menu meal and dang, was it sooo tasty. It’s a bit removed from the touristy area which is always nice, right next the stairs into Corniglia. We took the shuttle and backtracked.
You must hike in to this place!! Corniglia is best experienced by hiking into town from Vernazza, otherwise you are just hiking up into town. The views are beautiful, the food is excellent, and the service was on point. Make sure you try the Tuna, it was delicious! Having a spritz with seafood pasta after a day of hiking was so refreshing. This place was very pricey, but well worth it. Also, we showed up around 4:30 and walked right in with no wait. This scratched the itch we were looking for at Nessun Dorma in Manarola, but we didn’t make it to. So happy for this beautiful spot.
We truly had such an amazing experience here, we went twice :) This was for sure our favorite restaurant during our Cinque terre trip. The food is so tasteful, you can really notice the ingredients are fresh and of good quality. I’m sensitive to gluten, but I had to try one of their pasta dishes and I actually felt good afterwards :) I for sure recommend the pasta with pistachio cream and red shrimps (you can always ask for more Parmesan if you’re a fan ;) ) and the sea bream with potatoes, tomatoes and olives (they already get rid of almost all the bones for you). And the tiramisu and red house wine, so delicious! Also the service is great, the waiters (and managers as well) are super friendly and knowledgeable, they work so hard, and even when it’s busy they still help you very fast in my opinion. And last but not least, the atmosphere is wonderful with a beautiful view. Highly highly recommend this place to everybody visiting Corniglia!
Incredible view from a patio of olive trees and very good food (our favorite in Corniglia after staying two days). Two things to consider: The portions were slightly larger than we've gotten used to in Italy and we bought too much, and the service was not very fast -- this is not a place to eat if you're in a rush.
Lovely place under the olive trees with nice food. We went there twice during our stay in Corniglia and enjoyed both times. Friendly staff!
Delicious food, amazing views and great staff. The seabream was beautifully cooked and the tiramisu was outstanding. I would highly recommend a visit.
Great spot. We experienced wonderful service and our meals were great. The caprese was fresh and yummy, but not the best we’d been spoiled with in Italy and didn’t need the dried herbs with the fresh pesto. Based on other reviews and photos, we expected the Trofie al Pesto to be served with some shaved Parmesan on top, but instead we were given a small satchel of parm which was a little disappointing. That said, the pasta was among the best we’d had in Italy. The regional pesto and Ligurian speciality of green beans and potatoes elevated the dish. A highlight for sure. We also had the pistachio cream pasta with raw red shrimp and it was perfect. Prices were aligned, the owners were lovely, the service good and the food terrific.
The food was absolutely delicious! I had the pasta with fresh anchovies and lemon, with grilled vegetables on the side. The terrace is lovely, shaded by trees, and offers a stunning ocean view. One downside: you have to order and pay inside, which I found a bit inconvenient, especially since you have to walk up a bit to the main restaurant across the street to do so. It’s not like the staff was super busy, so table service would have made more sense. This setup also discourages you from ordering anything extra, like dessert, because it just feels like too much hassle. Service was friendly but so-so; my table wasn’t cleared until I left. The music was also a bit too loud for midday, making it less relaxing than it could have been. That said, it’s still a great spot, especially if you’re looking to refuel during a hike through Cinque Terre, like I was.
The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere was lovely. The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow and not as attentive as we’d hoped. That said, the quality of the food definitely made up for it, and we’d still recommend giving this place a try!
Really good dinner spot in Corniglia! We got the marinara mussels as an appetizer and they were delicious - very fresh and light. The vegan salad left me a little dissatisfied; there was little dressing and a bit bland. Our main courses made up for it though! The spaghetti with burrata & tomato sauce was delectable. We also ordered the “cutlet & chips”, expecting fish & chips (fries to Americans) only to realize it was a chicken cutlet, not fish. That said, the chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned well so we were still very pleased!
Located right a top the stairway of the train station, it's a convenient spot to grab a bite and a drink while you wait for the train. The food was okay. We ordered the grilled seafood plate and pesto pasta. The seafood was a little bit under-seasoned for my preference, but overall the meal was pleasant. The view on the terrace is pretty and the olive trees are a nice touch.
This ristorante is beautifully sited, but unfortunately staffed by individuals who are rude, unfriendly and inattentive. The atmosphere was negative and unpleasant. Can't comment on the food because …
Very, very bad. Please don't go to this restaurant. The waitresses are very rude. There are many very good restaurants in Corniglia with much better views.
Try to skip this spot in Cinque Terra. If you are hungry but a piece of fruit and venture on. First, they hand you a menu on the patio and you have to fill it out and take it up the hill, across the…
A beautiful location ruined by terrible / rude staff with trash music being played, new management requirement required.
