Bar Pisellino continues to deliver one of the most consistently elegant bar experiences in the West Village. Special recognition to Nicholas V. for exceptional service—attentive, informative, and genuinely kind without ever feeling intrusive or overwhelming. He has a rare ability to read the table perfectly. A thoughtful highlight: offering the house aperitivo before being asked—an effortless gesture that speaks volumes about hospitality and confidence in their program. The ambiance remains warm, refined, and timeless, exactly what you expect from Pisellino. Every visit reinforces why this place stands out. Professional, welcoming, and beautifully executed.

If you want to experience real Italy without leaving NYC, this is your spot. I’ve been to Italy a couple of times, and Pisellino genuinely brings me back. Don’t expect oversized, heavy “American-style” plates. Instead, you’ll get proper coffee and delicate, beautifully made pastries — the kind I miss so much. Their bomboloni are absolutely worth hunting for (they sell out fast for a reason). The budini di riso pudding didn’t disappoint either — simple, comforting, and done right. I also love the small details, like being served sparkling water with your cappuccino. It feels thoughtful and very European. The space is tiny but cozy, with that authentic café energy. Yes, there’s usually a line — and yes, it’s worth every second. Already missing it. 🇮🇹✨

Absolutely charming cafe with delicious baked goods. It was a bonus stop on our donut tour, and definitely the best find. Staff was great - definitely will be back!

I come here every morning for my coffee, orange juice, and San Pellegrino. Sitting on Grove Street, watching the world go by, is genuinely one of the highlights of my day. The coffee is always brewed properly, at the right temperature. The orange juice is freshly squeezed to order—sometimes with that beautiful blood-orange hue, and it’s consistently excellent. But the real reason I keep coming back is the staff. They’re kind, attentive, and always happy to say good morning, have a brief chat, and let you get on with your day. Shout-out to Christian, Nick, and the entire team, you make an already great space even better with your warmth and energy. It gets busy later in the day and at night, which says everything you need to know. My time is the morning, and I’ll let the evening crowd speak for itself. The staff do an incredible job, and I come back as much for their company as for the coffee.

Deliciously perfect hot chocolate. Despite how busy it was, the server was incredibly friendly and seated us quickly. He was especially thoughtful knowing we had a child and made sure we were comfortable. The donut was the best I’ve ever had—exceptionally soft and not overly sweet.

One of the strongest and best hot chocolate in the city. It is definitely worth the hype and the staff is so kind. However not much seating unless you are okay with outside.

The atmosphere is so beautiful and cozy. The waiter explained us everything and every cocktail! The cocktails were so delicious and well made! We drink four of them with olives which were perfect, and a plate with cheese and salami. We totally going back before leaving New York City!

Pisellino is one of those New York classics that never disappoints. I stopped by for aperitivos and it was the perfect pause in the middle of the city. The atmosphere feels effortlessly European — intimate, timeless, and full of character. Soft lighting, beautiful details, and that unmistakable West Village energy. The aperitivos were perfectly executed, ideal for a late afternoon or early evening moment. It’s the kind of place where you sit down “just for one” and end up staying longer than planned. Lively without being loud, polished without feeling stiff. A true NYC staple and an unmissable spot if you appreciate good drinks, great ambiance, and places with soul.

Cool, hip spot to catch up with a friend over Espresso and a panini. My favourites are the salami with walnuts, butter and cheese, the Tonno (tuna) and Egg Salad panini. Each one is a magnificent

Had an amazing service. We came here because we heard they had the best hot chocolate in town and for someone who has traveled the world. It didn't disappoint, one if not the best I've had. They had an amazing espresso martini too.

Was visiting NYC and just randomly saw this bar after dinner. So glad that we found this place! We absolutely loved the atmosphere, the décor, the service and the great energy that captivated us during out visit. It was so sad when the bar had to close at 11pm. Wish it had longer hours. Will definitely come back!

Amazing cocktails and a true Italian bar experience with a chic European vibe. The outdoor seating is perfect for people-watching, especially on a sunny day. Expect a bit of a wait to get seated—this place is popular for a reason—but it’s well worth it. Every cocktail was beautifully crafted and full of flavor. Whether you’re just stopping by for drinks or settling in for the evening, it’s the kind of spot that makes you feel like you’ve escaped to a stylish corner of Italy.

As somebody who had seen Italy in various forms, I can say that American idea of Italy is better than reality, at least in this case. 😄 Everything we had was amazing, the coffee also very strong but not too strong, the staff was also very kind and the place itself has so many windows and you're lucky if you can get a seat!

Lovely bar, fascinating interior design. We were lucky to be served by a super nice server. Line was really long on weekend (we went there on Fri afternoon.) Bites were good average, so do drinks. 🍫🥛✨Hot chocolate, no doubt one of my favorite hot chocolates now. Please don’t see it as a drink but like a cup of chocolate-flavored, whisked heavy cream. It like mousse yet, but in between. Taste was rich and lovely with their style. Raspberry was delicious too, although nothing unique. The shell was crunchy, the jam was slightly too sweet for me. ✨💛Chips, special vip. Definitely something good than packed ones for people who are not hungry but craving stuff.

I went for the hot chocolate. The whipped cream on top was nice but honestly the hot chocolate was fine. We surprisingly liked the rice cake. This spot is very cute so I think the vibes are the highlight. It’s also close to the Path as well as Metro. There aren’t a lot of seats inside. There is some seating outside. I would maybe come back here for cocktails.

Cute bar / café, we went there on a sunny sunday morning, had some very good coffee and some of the little bites you can order with it. Nothing outstanding, but overall good experience and I would come back.

Delicious hot chocolate! I consider myself to be a hot chocolate connoisseur and this spot was mentioned in a few articles I’ve read. The hot chocolate here is great! Creamy and chocolatey! They had many delicious looking pastries at the counter. We tried a pastry that had Nutella filling (forgot the name of the pastry, sorry). It was flaky like a croissant on the outside, dusted with powdered sugar, and fluffy on the inside. I really enjoyed what I ordered. My complaints: Menu was not easy to read. I wasn’t asked what size of hot chocolate I would like when I ordered it; not sure if that’s why I received a miniature to go cup. It was very small, too small. Also, the man behind the counter that made our drinks could have been more friendlier. There was a young lady that approached us and offered a menu when we first walked in. We paid for our check with her as well. The place is very small inside. A little awkward to stand inside, if the tables are all taken. They have tables outside, but it was too cold out. I highly recommend trying the sweet treats and drinks here. We spent about $35 for two people.

I liked this place a lot. Granted it has very limited seating, it’s expensive, and 7th Ave isn’t the most ideal location in the WV, but the food was amazing and the aesthetics of the place were beyond beautiful. The coffee itself was okay and on one visit the service was great and on the other visit the service was just okay. But I’d come back here just to enjoy the atmosphere and the paninis.

Bar Pisellino is a wonderful spot for a coffee in the neighborhood. It's perfect for locals looking to enjoy a relaxing, quality cup in a cozy setting. Always a great choice for a casual, enjoyable coffee break.

Great cocktails, coffee and good vibes! Seating is limited and a bit cramped. The tuna sandwich is also decent but a bit overpriced

What a charming Italian bar & cafe! It’s located right across the street from Via Carota in the West Village, and no surprise, it’s owned by the same power couple behind Via Carota. We had just flown into town and found ourselves with an hour to kill before our lunch reservation there, and I’m so glad we wandered over. Yes, it was only 11 a.m., technically “too early” for cocktails but we’re on vacation, and who’s judging? They open at 8 a.m. daily, serving up excellent coffee and pastries, so you can just as easily make this your morning stop. That’s what I love about the concept, it really is an all-day Italian bar/cafe! We grabbed a sidewalk table with perfect front-row seats for people watching, easily the best spot in the house. Our server was friendly and attentive, which added to the whole relaxed neighborhood vibe. I ordered the much-talked-about Sgroppino (thanks to all the rave reviews), and it lived up to the hype. A slushy blend of lemon sorbet, Prosecco, and vodka, it’s bright, refreshing, boozy but still delicate, like a little glass of vacation. My boyfriend went for the Paper Plane, which was just as delicious in its own way. Between the drinks, the vibe, and the West Village charm, Bar Pisellino is a must if you’re in the area. I’d come back any time of day!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Charming Italian Vibes & Delicious Drinks Bar Pisellino is such a cute and fun spot — the atmosphere and design instantly transport you to a classic Italian bar. It’s the kind of place that feels both relaxed and stylish, perfect for a casual afternoon or early evening hangout. I ordered one of their cocktails — I don’t remember the exact name, but it was a watermelon frappe-style drink from the menu, and it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly balanced, refreshing, and not too sweet — exactly how a great cocktail should be. If you’re looking for a laid-back place with excellent drinks, small sandwiches, panini, and a lovely cheese board, this is it. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone in NYC looking to enjoy a slice of Italy with great vibes and flavors.

Based on reviews about how great their hot chocolate is supposed to be, we stopped in today. Unfortunately, I wish I had stuck with my tried and true place. Change isn’t always good. Sadly, the hot chocolate tasted decent but there was nothing hot about it. It was lukewarm at best. We also ordered bomboloni and got the last remaining order at around 2:00 pm. Instead of cream filling which we wanted we settled for the raspberry which we did not like. Then came the clincher. Their menu says the hot chocolate is $8 and bomboloni is $5. When the waitress came around with the card reader for payment I saw the charge for hot chocolate was $11. My fault completely, I should have questioned it. I do not know why I didn’t and only checked after. So we paid $36 for two hot chocolates and an order of bomboloni (which unfortunately includes the tip I added) for subpar food. Highway robbery. I should have stuck with my favorite hot chocolate at Angelina’s of Paris where a larger cup of amazing HOT chocolate is indeed $8 as the menu says and it pairs well with their delicious macarons. Never again!

Went there for a hot chocolate which was absolutely amazing. The espresso martini was fantastic as well. However, one of the servers (short, brown), was passing racist remarks about customers, ignoring customers, and speaking in a very rude tone. He ruined the entire experience, not just for me but the tables around me. As long as he is working at this spot, would not recommend anyone to visit.

Unfortunately, the place left an unpleasant impression. We were calmly sitting at our table, having coffee and breakfast, when staff approached us several times and made remarks because we were filming ourselves on our phones. In the end, it became clear that if you are a blogger or simply want to create content, you are not welcome here. The service was awful. The mood was ruined, and there is no desire to return.

Инна Дидун
Инна Дидун

We initially loved this place — great atmosphere, good coffee and tea, and tasty sandwiches. We were visiting West Village from another city and truly enjoyed the vibe. The experience changed when we casually started filming ourselves as bloggers. We were approached several times and told that filming was not allowed and that we would need to schedule a photoshoot via email. This was not a professional photoshoot — just simple content creation, capturing ourselves and the atmosphere. It was disappointing, especially since filming in public spaces is common in the U.S., and we genuinely wanted to share and recommend this place. A great atmosphere at first, but the approach toward content creators left a negative impression.
