First visit and loved it. Very clean, well-decorated, minimalist environment. Our server was friendly and patient. Had the Tom Kha soup and the green curry with pork. Level 8 spice. Both were delicious! I will definitely be back.
Checked out this place due to its high ratings on yelp. Absolutely love this place. The pumpkin curry is amazing. Unless your into hot make sure to order it mild. The yellow curry is amazing and also really liked the pineapple fried rice with chicken.
Came here several times : loved it. The food was great. I even found a dish with my name, when I walked in I was immediately greeted by the server in a friendly voice. Price was very reasonable but food was great! I am sure to come here again
Literally the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The customer service is impeccable. They are some of the nicest people we’ve ordered takeout from. Everything is so delicious and inexpensive for the amount of food you get. 10/10.
Vanda Thai is on their A game. The medium spicy pad Thai might’ve been the best I’ve ever had.
Vanda Thai has been our favorite Thai restaurant for many years. Their food is incredible, not greasy, perfectly cooked, seasoned. The only problem is that they are so good, they are always very busy.
Small informal place with great Thai food. Loved all 3 of our entrees.
Food is always so tasty here! Love their drunken noodles and Thai tea.
We have had food delivered from here multiple times and it has always lived up to the mark. Extremely tasty food and reasonable prices make for the perfect combination. Food portions are quite large also. Today we happened to drop in for a sit down meal. It's a cozy place, excellent service and very friendly staff. If you haven't tried it yet, I don't think you should wait any longer..!!
Everything I've tried has been fantastic! However, I wanted to leave a review based on a recent customer service experience. I've ordered take out online a couple of times over the past few months. Last time, I walked past the door to wait near the Dunkin for my order to be ready (and buy an apple fritter 😅). After a few minutes, an employee walked out with my food (I want to say it was even before I received the text saying my order was ready) and said she thought she saw me walk by a while ago and remembered my name/face.
We LOVE Vanda Thai. After a long day's work ordering out is a favorite. The Thai Basil is of course a favorite, along with the Pad Thai. Who can pass up an Iced Thai Tea to keep you wired into the night. Great family run restaurant with fast service and great prices.
Very authentic Thai food. Been coming here since they open and it's consistent service and taste of food. Always have welcoming staff and delicious options. There are spicy and non spicy options.
Excellent food, great selections and everything is hot and tasty. Enjoy the kal soy, red curry, Tom yum soup, crispy vegetarian rolls, and absolutely the chicken drunken noodles. So mouth watering delicious.
Amazing experience and food. The best Thai I’ve had in my life. The flavor profile is dynamic and the food is rich and fresh. I’m so grateful to Vanda Thai for teaching me the beauty of Thai cuisine.
Fabulous food. Some of the best Thai food I've had in a while. Don't let the location mislead you. Favorites are pork larb, green papaya salad, tom yom. One downside is that the staff are not the friendliest and can be a bit abrasive.
I go here regularly and love everything I've tried. Quick service for lunch and seating enough for 6 people. The pad see ew and the curries are my favorite. If you saw spicy, expect real heat.
The kindest nicest most amazing, incredible staff you’ll ever meet at any restaurant. Oh also, did I mention the food is amazing.
This place have the best food ever, authentic, tasteful, the best curry so far. If you go get the green curry. I Love it!!! I definitely recommend and I can’t wait to try all the curry they have there.
The food here is so good! I love hole in the wall restaurants like this because they have the most authentic flavors and menu items. I always recieve the best service here!
Looking for great tasting Thai food at great prices? Check out Vanda Thai. Don't let the modest appearance fool you. Vanda Thai is particularly popular for take out, but there are also a few tables available to eat on site. Good portion sizes and delicious, freshly cooked dishes. Friendly and fast service.
Fast and friendly service both for dine in and take out. The food is always freshly prepard and exceptionally quickly delivered to the table. Thai iced coffee is always a must here. And the ginger rice is a nice option for going along with many of their main dishes.
Most outstanding Thai food we've ever had. Authentic, nicely presented, delicious, and reasonably priced. The restaurant itself is small & not too great in terms of ambience - seats near the back kitchen & bathroom are noisy - but it's worth it for the food! Many regulars frequent this gem of a place!
Second time here, fried spring rolls, fried rice is very popular with children, curry chicken tastes good and green papaya salad is very good, will come back to try more other dishes
Delicious, truly spicy, low price and stock service. Would come back again. Chicken skewers were a highlight, with juicy meat, broiled outside, and well marinated flavor that goes all the way in.
As local spots go you can't go wrong here. Good flavors and spice to the meals, friendly staff, and convenient location. I like hole in the wall places like this. The new management seems solid!
Great Thai food. We had an issue with food being overly spicy (at medium), but they fixed it right away.

I went here with a friend on a Tuesday night, we were trying to avoid a busy night and we arrived on the early side. I read the great reviews on the food and service and was not disappointed. We ordered the red curry which was the perfect amount of spice and a Pad Thai with crab, both were excellent and very large portions. The prices were so so so reasonable which is unusual for the area. The service was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back!
I love this restaurant so much. Their food is great and everybody here is so nice. We will usually place a takeout order and they are always on time and gracious. I highly recommend them to anyone!
The selection at this Thai place is small, but that's because they are extremely good. Their ingredients are always fresh, and their food very authentic. I always order their pad Thai ; they are not heavy on the lemon grass or the tamarind, but it's still very good. The customer service is always great and very friendly. I went by myself and nearing closing time, but they still served me and made sure I was taken cared for. The topping to the cake is that they are very affordable for a Thai place, dishes ranging from 8 - 12, compared to other Thai places they are very cheap.
Delicious! I can't believe it's taken me so long to go here. Staff are friendly and food is good in portion and excellent in taste. Spice level is appropriately labeled. There is also an extra spicy level that is not on the menu, which I imagine is Thai spicy. We tried the drunken noodles, basil chicken, and green beans. All are going to be ordered again. This will definitely be our go-to Thai in Walnut Creek. It would be great as takeout too.
Super busy, even for take-out but DEFINITELY worth the wait. So darn tasty! The pad see ew with chicken or beef are both so good....but the basil rice is amazing! We get it with chicken. The food here is so flavorful and not at all oily. I highly recommend Vanda Thai!

Tom Yam was delicious. Prices are fair. Location is not the best, but it is pretty close to Macy's and plaza. Interior is 5/10, which makes the place closer to fast food than to a restaurant. Service there is fine. So I'd say total 8/10.
It's in a very unassuming building, but don't be misled, the food is very tasty. If you like Thai food you'll like this. The interior is very basic, but you can call in for take it. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. If you like dessert you have to try the mango sticky rice.
Don't be misled by the lack of theming - this is a solid and fairly priced Thai restaurant with fast, friendly service. Based on the number of regulars picking up takeout it's a popular destination for picking up dinner. Recommended.
Came in at 5:30 on a Saturday night for a pre-movie family dinner. Place was getting busy but service was spot on and pleasant. Everything we ordered was great but I particularly liked the Pork Larb (get it five star spicy) and the Tom Kha. We were out within an hour. Looking forward to coming back!
The best homecooked and most moderately priced Thai food in Walnut Creek. We had the chicken larb and Roti and curry appetizer. Freshly made and oh so tasty!...Free parking too. Not many places in Walnut Creek can say that!

We were at a friend's house and they ordered takeout from Vanda Thai. The food was great! So we ordered the same exact dishes tonight and unfortunately did not have the same experience. The rice was dry and unappealing. The Drunken noodles and Pad Thai were both good but the Red and Yellow curries were so-so. We'll give Vanda Thai another try eventually.

The food was very tasty. The portions were very small. The service was relatively friendly and very efficient. The staff works very hard. The value is decent for Walnut Creek but nothing to get excited about, a bit pricy for small delicious portions.
The restaurant is small and has a very limited seating. The interior is lacking any of the design touch. Does require some major upgrades. Really appreciate some authentic wall art pictures and canvases of Phuket. There’s only one person taking orders and running the entire place. Sometimes when the phone rings, customer may get unnoticed. Overall service is relatively good, once you get an attention. Food served timely, however, the quality might use some improvements. Tom Kha was a bit over-salted and came on the lower bottom of a bowl. Fresh roll is all unevenly cut and came in different sizes. Kia noodles were very tasty. Nice, plain, white dishes the food is served on. Overall a place to try and add to your list.
Ordered Roti with curry. Could not eat it because of how greasy it was. The roti and paper underneath was almost translucent!
I ordered this for lunch and I don’t know what’s going on with my chicken and why it’s gray? The rice is great!

One of the worst Thai food I have eaten. All dishes were completely tasteless and had no flavor. I will avoid this place at any cost.
Meh. Ordered the Pad See Ew. It was palatable, but bland. Kinda underwhelming, since a Pad See Ew should normally have a very flavorful sauce. The tofu was super bland and no texture. Also kind of disappointed by the use of regular broccoli rather than Chinese broccoli. Not planning on coming back, especially since there's other Thai restaurants in town.
Visited for a family lunch, Penang Chicken with white rice, Chicken Satay and spring rolls for appetizers. The entrees were the worst Penang chicken we had over the years and portions were small. The service was below standards, difficulty with English. The first time the server was smiling was when we asked for the check. Not returning to this restaurant.
I got the pad Thai, and asked for low heat, but it was so spicy I couldn’t eat it. The chicken was also really rubbery and chewy. Wasn’t the worst of Thai, but far from the best.
I had the fried chicken over fried rice. The rice was good but the fried chicken was old and hard. Restaurants get one chance to impress customers but often try and cut corners. It really is true that it cost five times as much to attract new customers then it does to keep the ones you have.
The service was prompt and attentive generally. I had some excellent egg rolls with a very tasty sauce, however there was a problem with the pumpkin curry. The large chunks of kabocha squash couldn’t be pierced with my fork and I don’t have very many teeth left so I thought I explained to the waitress that I wanted the “pumpkin” cooked very soft and she took the rather meager portion back to the kitchen. Not long after, she returned the bowl to the table. I was surprised to see that there seemed to be less pumpkin now, but thought that perhaps it was in the bottom. I was very hungry, so I started to chow down. To my dismay, and I could discover very little pumpkin. There was lots of slightly over cooked chicken breast, but the actual curry sauce was quite tasty, although not as heavy on the coconut milk as I expect in a Thai restaurant. Also, I was shocked at the lack of spiciness, since I had requested it to be “Thai HOT”. There was a small dish of dried pepper flakes which unfortunately turned out to be insufficient in heat. In my vast experience, most dried Thai chili flakes require a very small portion to light up my mouth and make my lips burn. I must have added a couple of tablespoons and I barely broke a sweat. Needless to say, I will not be returning.🥺🥺

First time I ordered. The cucumber tastes.. like a chemical was on it. Thought it was a one off so its fine. I ordered again today and there is egg shells in my Lucas Fried Rice. I didn’t even order egg. I have a picture of the second shell I found. I do not recommend.
