Wish I could give it 4.75 stars because it isn't perfect but it's dang sure good and so is the service.. pretty sure the chips are homemade..chips get a 4.9
We had the Stuffed Avacado and the Crunchy Chilie Relleno and WOW! The food was excellent, well worth the $22 and change.
I ordered the #1. One taco and 1 enchilada, beef. They actually GAVE me a second enchilada! The taco had so much meat in it I almost didn't need an enchilada. Of course I ate the fastest enchilada I have ever had and my hubby ate the 2nd one after he polished off he plate of food. Great meal!
Our waitress Natasia was of great service. Very professional & sweet.
I had the sizzling fajitas and they were just ok, the onions & bell pepper were cut way too thin & mostly burnt, need to be cut thicker to enjoy with the fajitas. My side of rice & beans were cold when they were brought to the table. However, our waitress Lisa was fantastic!!
Still as good as it was back in the day. It had been 20 years I bet since I last ate here. Friendly service and excellent Mexican food! Thank you!
We stopped here for dinner on our way to New Mexico. The food was delicious and arrived quickly, and the sweet tea was wonderful!
Been eating here since the beginning of leals. Great family and food. Can't go wrong
I got the Fajita plate and it was great at a reasonable price. The staff were hospitable and quick with service. I would love to add that our server Manuel was a great waiter very friendly and professional and gave us as much time as we needed, asked how our day was and kept our drinks full without asking. Me and my family felt we were well taken care of. It was our first time in Muleshoe and at a Leals restaurant and I must say I’ve never felt more welcomed and attended to in such a busy restaurant. Thank you Manuel and thank you Leal’s staff. I will definitely be coming back if I am to pass through again.
Very busy restaurant and it deserves to be. The food was delicious. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it was filled with happy, well fed families and other large groups. Parking is plentiful if a bit of a disorganized free-for-all.
We stopped at Leal's on our our way to a football. The waitress was friendly. Our drinks came quickly. Our waitress took our order. The food came quickly as well. It was hot and fresh. Prices were very reasonable. Can't wait to go back.
Great Mexican food. Family friendly with superb customer service. Willing to accommodate large and small groups alike. Authentic tamales, enchiladas and a complete array of Tex Mex dishes. Leal’s Original Restaurant is the place to stop in Muleshoe, TX and their other locations. Eat it up!
Delicious texmex at a well-known Panhandle restaurant. I have fond memories of Leal's in Lubbock in the 80's. This location in Muleshoe did not disappoint. 💯 Quick friendly service on a busy Sunday afternoon - even with a dining room full of the afterchurch crowd. Crispy fresh chips and tasty salsa. Order came to the table piping hot and accurate to what we'd ordered. Waitress recommended the naked chili rellenos. They were amazing 👏! Beans tasted like home and the rice was perfect. Dish was a 10/10.
The food is amazing but the service was really terrible first we ordered an appetizer it was made incorrectly but still was good then we ordered our meals well the appetizer and my ladies plate came out well my meal didn't come waited a few minutes then asked about my meal well it wasn't placed so had to wait about 10 more minutes then it came well then our waitress came to refill our tea we ordered unsweetened tea she refilled our glasses with sweet tea I am diabetic so I need unsweet tea but will say "The food was amazing!!!"..... Well we returned "The food is just amazing!!!" The service was much better everything was good
I went to this place because it had a lot of good recommendations, I love Mexican food, and every time I'm in these places I look for a good place to enjoy Mexican cuisine, but oh surprise, the food is not authentic Mexican even though many here say it is, the perfect definition is TEX MEX, sorry but the chiles rellenos are NOT with Anahaim peppers, they are made with poblano peppers, I couldn't find a way for my plate in the middle of so much melted cheese on top of my food, the flavor, I must say that it is not bad, but in a Text Mex way... the place is nice, the staff is friendly although they do not want to speak to you Spanish even when you heard them speaking the language moments before, but it's okay, it's also ok. On the menu, I did not find the variety of tacos that a Mexican restaurant usually has. Instead, I found hard shell tortilla tacos like Tacos Bell, I mean, hell noooo. So if on your next trip you are looking for a good Tex Mex restaurant, this is your place,if not, look for a restaurant that is definitely Mexican starting for the name of the place.
Fajita beef good... The fiesta topping much lettuce couple tomatoes & (disappointingly) garcomola was VERY, VERY tiny. Atmosphere= Christmas tress and lights in February... I got there before the rush but when I left the doors were blocked by people. All in all, okay but a little pricey 25$ including tip & tea
Unfortunately, though the food was good, I do feel there has been a dramatic decline in the overall “Leals” experience the last year or so. We’ve been coming from Clovis for years, but it just is not the same. Mainly, the staff and atmosphere. It seems to be a very unhappy place for staff. Management, or upfront employees, are absolutely unprofessional. Often times, they are sitting in the bar area while customers wait up front for a table. I’m guess it’s “not their job” or they just don’t see because they are hiding behind the wall. When I do see them up, the way they interact with staff is unnecessarily uncalled for. We sat at a booth, and I can’t believe the older manager who had been there for years doesn’t think every word and her tone can’t be heard by customers. The thing was, they weren’t even busy. She is not the only manager that we have witness this with, she was just working that day. Quite frankly, the way staff, and customers for that matter are treated, is an embarrassment for the establishment. No wonder you don’t recognize a single waitress in the restaurant. It seems that they did at one time a some very effective staff, but not these day, which is to be expected with poor management. I hope to see change, because in the past, this has been a favorite of ours. I’m not sure who owns this business, but I would love to talk to them. Again, the food was fine, as usual.
