Roy's Restaurant

Lovely afternoon spent at Roy’s. Greeted with a warm welcome, the staff could not have been more attentive. Gorgonzola stuffed mushrooms to start, and lamb cutlets for main did not disappoint! The pizza and pasta dishes all looked well presented and smelt amazing I could have tried them all! For this reason I can’t wait to return to try some other dishes. The pana cotta was beautifully creamy, with sharp raspberries, but their Biscoff cheesecake offers a portion to please anyone with room left! Look forward to seeing you soon Roy’s!. Just had another successful lunch at the local belt Roy’s restaurant on 05th October and pleased to say it didn’t disappoint again! During the visit the restaurant received a 5 for their hygiene rating so well done to the team!! Service was amazing and the cocktails made to perfection. Pink Gin Royale went down a storm as did the espresso Martini and desserts! Can’t recommend this place enough!

Went to Roy’s restaurant last night and had a lovely meal out. The atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful and the staff are all so friendly and welcoming. I ordered a pizza which was beautifully cooked then had a raspberry pavlova for desert which was nice and refreshing to finish the meal. I definitely would recommend this restaurant.

Been meaning to go to Roy's Restaurant some weeks back to try some Italian food and finally went today; it was Brilliant!! Was set on having some pasta, but the specials of rib eye caught our attention; had to order it!! Also, the lamb cutlet from previous photos taken by others looked amazing to pass. Kids set menu was nicely thought of; garlic bread as starter, mains of chicken tender & chips or pasta choice of bolognese, cabonara and 1 other, drink and dessert of ice cream! Starter of scallops & King prawns and deep fried mushrooms stuffed with gorgonzola cheese were to die for.. Dessert of tiramisu ended the meal beautifully... We definitely will be back pretty soon for some pasta, for sure.. Service from the staff and owners- Alison & Mark were flawless.. Came back home Happy 😊

My greatest restaurant find to date . Not my first visit , I have tried a few of the dishes off the menu and they have been delicious to say the least , beautifully prepared and presented . Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Would recommend to anyone.

First time visiting whilst staying with family. Was welcomed by polite, smiley staff. Restaurant was nicely decorated and had a warm, happy feel to it. Six of us had different dishes and tried each others. Cannot fault on anything. Wines and cocktails were reasonably priced and had a nice selection. Desserts were truly amazing. Will definitely be returning whilst in the UK.

Private dinner at Home with Roy’s Restaurant! Head Chef Daniel Jones from Roy’s, designed and created 2 parallel, 7 course menus, one fish and one meat for a wonderful evening at home for 8 friends. It was a gastronomic delight, the produce was of the highest quality and the presentation second to none. If you are a foodie, this is the chef for you, thank you Dan and Gaby.

I can't believe it's taken me so long to visit here. The menu doesn't do justice to how fantastic the food is! I'm sure everything is delicious but the mozzarella starter and the crayfish ravioli were exceptional.

Went here on Friday Night, The Most Amazing Food all cooked by the wonderful Chef, Dan. All the staff, are the most welcoming and Friendly especially to Alison and Mark, who couldn’t do enough for you, made sure everything was spot on. It was a Fantastic Evening celebrating VE Day, with Shona who was singing for the Evening.

We just went to Roy's at Welwyn, fantastic! Food was amazing and everyone's dish looked amazing. Staff fantastic, atmosphere wonderful, prices very reasonable and wine list excellent. Thank you Roy's for a wonderful evening.

Great food and service, couldn't fault it! Lovely decor and atmosphere too. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal Roy's Restaurant Hampden Square. Nice cosy restaurant, very friendly service and tasty food with generous portions. Our group had a fab time. My lamb cutlets were served on hot stones ( see pic!) Can’t wait to go back & check out the desserts which looked amazing! So lucky to have another great restaurant in Southgate.

Returned again this time enjoyed some wonderful food as well as shona McCarty singing the staff was helpful and friendly it was fully booked however that did not stop the food being exquisite Great meal as always Returned 16.02.2023 The food is still amazing - our waitress was lovely professional and welcoming at no point did we fill rushed - lovely afternoon and great atmosphere

Had a great lunch at Roy’s, food was tasty and new compared to recent restaurants I’ve been out to eat at and the cocktails I tried topped it all off. Staff were friendly and helpful with my various allergies. Can’t wait to go back!

I visited here last week for a meal with my husband and had the most incredible 3 course meal. The food was cooked and presented to perfection (seabass was one of the nicest I've ever had), such a relaxed atmosphere and the staff can't be anymore helpful. Roy's is such a credit to the village and looking forward to returning soon.

The beef ragu pasta is so good, as is the garlic pizza and Burrata starter. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere, will be back!

Friday night with friends. Nice atmosphere, very friendly service. Food was lovely, nicely spaced out and wasn’t rushed. Alison & Chloe were very helpful and recommended some good cocktails. Will most definitely be going back.

We had a wonderful dinner celebrating my husband Robin’s birthday, joined by our daughter Tia and I just wanted to thank you for making the evening feel so special. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by your staff. The beautifully decorated table with the gold and black "Happy Birthday" firework display was such a lovely surprise. We were truly impressed. And to top it off, the candlelit dessert that followed your team’s heartfelt rendition of Happy Birthday was the perfect touch. It’s those thoughtful little moments that make a big difference. Thank you again for your warmth, kindness, and attention to detail. You helped make Robin’s birthday one to remember. A wonderful restaurant with excellent food and service. I can't fault them at all. Their pizzas are large and very tasty, their risotto is rich and creamy and their burgers are very tasty. They have other dishes which I'll eventually get to! Desserts are amazing! Lovely staff. ❤️

Went last night with a table of 11 and they decorated the table for my birthday, didn't mess up anything at all which I can honestly say has never happened with a table that big and they didn't just kick us out at the end of the night. Great menu, friendly staff are very attentive and there's certainly a family feel to the place via the photos and the children's Halloween special they have going on. Nice cocktails and of course the food was delicious!😋

Had the most lovely meals at Roy’s. Love the atmosphere, decoration, attention to detail and really great Christmas music! 🎶 The food was absolutely lovely and the home made desserts were gorgeous. Definitely planning to return! Thank you guys, you made us feel very welcome ☺️

Had a wonderful lunch at Roy's, it was my first visit and the food was outstanding. Very fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was fantastic. I am looking forward to coming again and trying more dishes.

Had a lovely meal out with the family. FOH staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout the night. The food was nothing short of exceptional. I definitely would recommend the garlic bread pizza and the seafood linguini. Although, the whole family were impressed throughout and I’m sure whatever you pick off the menu will be equally as delicious. I think you would be hard pressed to find finer kitchen staff than Dan and his talented team. I will be sure to return again very soon.

March 2025 - It was my first experience of Roy's and I was very impressed. Lovely layout, friendly staff and excellent food. I had the T-bone steak, it was cooked perfectly. I feel the prices are fair for the quality and service. Two starters, two of the more expensive mains and a decent bottle of wine came to £100. I shall be returning. James.

Food so fresh and tasty. Front of House were lovely. First visit, and it won't be my last.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an amazing experience at Roy's Restaurant! The garlic bread was absolutely perfect—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with rich, garlicky flavor. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Every bite was a delight! The service was excellent as well, with attentive staff who made sure everything was just right. Roy's is now my go-to spot for a top-notch meal. Highly recommended!

There was a lovely atmosphere as we entered the Restaurant it was a buzzing Sunday Lunch time, I noticed how several areas had been beautifully decorated with balloons and flowers a very nice touch. I had Roast beef and all the trimmings it was really delicious and a good sized portion, well cooked and presented, other members of the party had various pasta dishes which were equally as delicious there was a good selection of dishes on the menu for all dietary requirements and tastes, The Staff were lovely a real credit to the restaurant we will definitely be returning Thank you

Great food - reasonable value. Service was fantastic - four of us went Monday evening so start of the week and a bit quite but server was fantastic and food was great.

Always a wonderful visit with the family here. Very good at catering for gluten free and also some vegan options. However would be great to expand on them a little more, beyond the tomato pasta dish (though that dish is lovely).

Fantastic meal, wine and service for a birthday lunch!!

Me and my friend went for dinner on a Monday evening and wanted to go somewhere with a good vibe for a quiet day of the week. We hadn’t booked and the staff were very accommodating to have us. The food was lovely, I had the mushroom and truffle risotto which I couldn’t get enough of. My friend had a Barata pizza which was cooked perfectly. We will absolutely be back, probably this weekend. Came for a delayed xmas party meal. Lovely atmosphere and the food was of high quality and very creative. A great selection of cocktails which were reasonably priced as well as the wines. Service was attentive and very friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant whether you live locally or not. Will definitely be booking again.

A nice enough restaurant, nicely decorated and comfortable. It was a very quiet night when I visited, there were only about 10 people in, but it was a Tuesday night. The prawns i had were way overcooked and I couldn't finish them. Thevservice was very good though, they did knock them off the bill. The pizza was okay, I bit thick, but decent.

Waiting staff were excellent and the food was lovely when it was eventually served. We arrived and ordered our food and nothing arrived for 70 minutes even though four chefs appeared to be working in the kitchen. We had not been forgotten as other tables around us had a similar wait. Such a shame as we had no other complaints and would otherwise recommend Roy’s.

Really recommend the lunch menu, minestrone and focacci is gorgeous, calamari excellent. Burger and the chicken milanese were lovely. Everything fresh, hot, very well home cooked food and served very well. Excellent value and choice of menus, we will definitely return! The service was just right, well done Roy's! It was quiet today but it does get busy so you need to book a table.

Went to Roy’s been many times even when it was aqua very polite staff as. Always ordered lamb chops but couldn’t really eat them they gave me steak knife so that should have told me they was so tuff like old boots don’t know there suppliers but wow they need to get on that 1/10 won’t be going back

AVOID. £28 for raw lamb which two of the three cutlets were replaced while the raw lamb was left on the table in front of me. Plating was the worst I’ve seen for that price point. The £28 raw lamb came with unseasoned, oil drenched thick cut fries and ketchup. Absolutely zero imagination and passion. EVERYTHING was drenched in oil including the starters. Dessert wouldn’t have satisfied a child and again, the plating was so bad and the ice cream and sauce tasted like Aldi house brand, CHEAP. This restaurant seems to pretend to be something it’s not. It’s overpriced pub food at best with poorly trained staff and chefs that don’t seem to care at all. I see the good reviews here predominantly are over a year or two old so clearly something changed for the worse. Waste of money, waste of time.. AVOID **** Thank you for your reply. True to form, as with all your other negative reviews you are immediately defensive and blame the customer. You state I ate a significant portion of the lamb cutlets, this is not correct. They are 3 individually cooked cutlets , one was medium rare and 2 were raw and cold. In order for me to determine that I needed to cut the other two in half. They were NOT EATEN. Chef replaced 2 of the three. I know I ordered medium rare as you put in bold writing. But there is a difference between that and raw. Don’t premise your response with being appreciative of feedback only to claim you did nothing wrong and I as the customer is in fault. Your prices are not in line with the quality of your food or your service. Take that feedback however you like, but it remains a fact.
