Perfect place to enjoy happy hour with a speak-easy vibe! So many unique spirits, thank goodness they offer $1 tastings! The small plates were delicious. Great service, our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We will be back!

A must-have! If you are anywhere even close to Idlewild, you MUST GO. I've been lucky enough to eat at this restaurant twice, and it has been fantastic. Justin is an excellent person who knows the menu inside and out. If you love food and enjoy a great menu, drinks, and atmosphere, then you need to go. The second time I've been to this great establishment, there was a wait. Instead of the conventional sit-down-and-wait, we were seated in a lounge area that had a live fire. I've been fortunate enough to eat at many restaurants in the Winter Park area, and Idlewild is one of the top ones on my list!

Walked in and knew we'd like it - found a seat at the bar to enjoy an appetizer and wine. Love the small plate selection. Bar seat is not designed for men - (please, add a footrail) and hooks for a purse beneath the bar. Yummy ribs with a side of kimchi. We'll be back.

Updated Post 2023: We came back with our extended family over the Thanksgiving break - they all raved about the drinks & food! Samantha was our server and did a great job accommodating gluten free, vegan and the many other asks the group had! Thank you Idlewild for living up to the hype we've been talking about for the last year - we will be back!! Ps.. Jordan - thanks for the hug, it was great seeing you! What an awesome experience! We had to go twice it was so good - we had the best waitress, Jordan, she was helpful, responsive and friendly (let's be real, it is super important to know what your customers want from their experience and she did not disappoint - thank you for making our time memorable). The food was great and gluten free (celiac here). Drinks were amazing and the ambience was spot on! If you visit Winter Park, this is a must stop!

Went for happy hour (weekdays before 6pm) which was great value. Highly recommend the food and spirits. They also have a good beer selection.

This was the only place open late that seemed to have interesting offerings and it blew my expectations out of the water. Open until 10, kitchen closes at 9. The distillates were good, the ages gin and the violet gin were both unique and delicious. I had a wedge salad and a burger and both were excellent. The bartender was helpful and the chef in that night was really into his work.

Bring back the Tapas Menu! The tapas used to be really fun, and you could have a bunch of different unique things all at once. We used to go all the time, and have definitely gone less now that it’s basically a burger and cocktail joint. The burgers are pretty good though

We were in Winterpark for the weekend, last weekend slopes were open. My husband wanted to try this place and we were not disappointed. I had the strawberry fields salad, it could have used a little more flavor, but was fresh and tasted fine. I ordered chicken breast for the salad and they served it separately on a hot plate so that it would not get cold or wilt the salad. My husband had the pulled pork sliders and Brussels sprouts. Sliders were good and the Brussels sprouts exceptional (and a huge serving of them!). Plenty to eat. I had the mule and my husband had the gin and tonic and we would suggest either of them. Service was very good.

Under staffed, server not attentive on a holiday weekend. Food was very average. Our first experience was better, not sure we'd come back. Very disappointing, especially on my birthday.

I’ve enjoyed Idlewild several times in the past. Last night we had delicious Brussel sprouts and very bland tacos. My friend had chicken tacos and I had beef. My friend had food poisoning. The only thing we had which was different was the chicken tacos. I would describe the service as “Sorry to bother you” as it was difficult to get their attention to order food.

In the words of my girlfriend, "this place was really cool, despite the cold and distant service." I completely agreed, the owners have done an amazing job designing a cozy distillery and we were also impressed at the offerings from the full kitchen. I only tried the bourbon but found it smooth, mellow, and easily drinkable on a Saturday afternoon. My girlfriend had a flight of their gin which she too seemed to enjoy. What was absolutely unfathomable to both of us, however, was the service. As I am employed in the service industry myself, a big factor in my reviews are based on the quality of service, which in this case was completely and totally unacceptable for a place as unique as this. I hope that this particular instance was an anomaly and the bartender was just having an off day, but it nonetheless put a significant damper on an otherwise good time.
