My boyfriend and I tried it when they opened and I wasn't impressed with the food or service. We decided to give it another shot because we heard of some changes, such as hiring a new head chef. "Chef Charlie". Thank god for him because we noticed 100% improvement with the food. When we complemented the chef to our waitress, she told him and he came out to thank us personally. That was really cool. The waitress was great this time around. My boyfriend got the Alfredo and this time it had more sauce and more flavor since the last time we came. He LOVED it! I got the Boursin Chicken with garlic cheese sauce. BEST thing I've ever tasted! My tortilla soup was excellent as well. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes. UPDATE: We recently tried some items from the new menu, including the homemade cheese ravioli with alfredo sauce and grilled chicken + Baked cheese on top. Also ordered the Eggplant parmesan. Both to die for. The rolls and New England clam chowder also delicious!

It's hard to put into words how grateful I am for The Waterfront and everyone on their staff. I had my wedding reception at The Waterfront this June (we rented out the entire restaurant for the day). From planning day one, to the actual day itself, everyone (especially TWF's owner, Amanda) was friendly, accommodating and just an all around pleasure to work with. Planning a wedding can be stressful and difficult, but Amanda made my planning experience so easy and fun. She was always prompt to answer all of my emails/questions and willing to meet with me on several occasions to hammer out details. She and all her employees made sure our special day was absolutely perfect. On the day of our wedding, the restaurant looked beautiful and clean, the staff treated us and our guest wonderfully, and the food was amazing. There is not a single thing I would have changed. My husband and I have always been fans of the restaurant, this experience just further solidified our feelings. Whether you are looking for a wedding venue or just a place to have great food and drinks with a gorgeous view please try out The Waterfront, you will be so glad you did!

This is one of my most favorite Marina's along Jefferson. Live Band was great... Mr. Kieth Patterson put on an excellent performance as did all the band members. This MICHIGAN SALAD...WAS GREAT. I like that they replaced the carmelized walnuts with raw walnuts ... making the salad one step from being totally ALKALINE.. except the blue cheese 🧀..but I was too lazy to remove them... because they were delicious. Had a great time as always ..I'll be back soon.

Would like to give a HUGE thank you to the manager of the Waterfront in Wyandotte Matt and his wonderful professional staff who worked my daughter bridal shower last weekend. I cannot have been more please with the outcome and their attentiveness to our special day. From the very beginning booking to the end and in between was totally professional and easy process and the communication was awesome. I am very particular and when you can walk away from your function and have a great feeling that all was perfect you know Matt and his staff did their job ! Hats off to the Waterfront for all their hard work and attention they have us that special day. Also next day my phone was blowing up with how fabulous oir bridal shower was. . Again, thank you Matt and Staff.

Nice place. We went here for our 40th anniversary. I informed them of that prior to our arrival. They saved us a table and sat us immediately when we arrived. They were jam-packed and had a large party for a 100th birthday party. They did a phenomenal job with everything. 👍👍 2 thumbs up....

I love The Waterfront! Fun, summer vibes in Downriver. I enjoyed their Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo. So good and the portion was big. I like their rotating frozen drinks. I’m all in for the blue tongue from the Electric Lemonade. The views are pretty and it’s enjoyable to watch the boats, freighters, tiki bar, and more, roll by.

Just went there for Valentine’s Day and got the surf and turf and it was one of the better steaks I’ve ever had. Shrimp seasoning and the sauce was perfect. Friendly service with a smile and the price for the food is right on point with where it should be.

My husband and I went for our anniversary. The atmosphere is amazing. It is right on the water and they have huge windows for a great view. It was very quiet, but it was only a couple days after Thanksgiving. Maybe everyone was still enjoying their leftovers. The food was excellent. We tried the steak and cheese egg rolls for the appetizer, the fish and chips and chicken marsala for the main courses, and a non- alcohol berry drink. All of it was fantastic. I brought home cheesecake for dessert. It was good, but a small piece. Everything was reasonably priced and the server, Jasmine was exceptional. She checked on us quite often and was very kind. We will definitely be going back.It looked like they had live music there, but not this night. Maybe next time!

Had the Maine lobster. It was delicious. Never have had lobster before so this was a bit outside my norm. But it was really good. Chef Steve did an excellent job on it. I now understand why I’ve seen people wear plastic bibs when they eat lobster.

Tonight I went to the Waterfront for the first time, the food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Aubreé was our waitress, she was super sweet, attentive and friendly. From the appetizers, to entrees to dessert, everything was delicious. The staff was very friendly from the time that we walked in the door, everyone was very accommodating . If you are looking for an amazing place on the water, try the Waterfront in Wyandotte and request Aubreé as your server.

This place will definitely be seeing me again! I kept it cute and simple with a glass of Prosecco, which paired perfectly with my entrée—a mushroom and spinach pasta topped with salmon and a side Caesar salad. The pasta was incredible—rich, buttery, and seasoned to perfection without being too salty. For dessert, I had the cookie butter cheesecake, and I have no words… it was that good. I need this exact meal every time I come back. It’s the perfect combo. The service was also on point. Everyone smiled and greeted you as they walked by, and the place was super clean and welcoming. I’m obsessed.

Just N of downtown Wyandotte, I recently ate here and came back the next week to try something else! Everything is very good and well prepared. The chef has a great menu with fresh tasting ingredients. Both times the group I was with spoke highly of their meals. They also have great craft beer and I was told you can tell they clean their draft lines. Plus wine and lots of fun cocktails for sitting outside on the river. The view is great just about anywhere you sit.

Had dinner Sunday afternoon, ordered the sea food sampler. It was really good! The calamari was delicious! Great dish for only $25. Would definitely recommend and will be going back!

2025 June 2025 Just as good as I remember 🥰 July 2, 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unfortunately this visit was not so great. Salmon burger, Old Fadhion , spinach dip and steak bites were all bad. June I’m back in Detroit for a visit and I can’t wait to get back to those fish and chips and a well balanced cocktail. Loved this place. 2024 Manda was extremely nice. Knowledgeable and easy to talk to. This was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had!

My nonprofit celebrated our 10th anniversary charity Auction at The Waterfront last night. We hosted over 100 people and not one complaint !! Food- Service- Managment-Owners- Bartenders- 100% impressed with everyone! Thank you all for working so hard to make sure our night was a huge success!!! My girl Jazz made sure I needed for nothing all the entire evening- never missed a beat! Cant wait to go back-

We had my step daughters baby shower at the Waterfront. Her mother & I hosted it! The owner was so helpful. I called him several times and asked questions & I popped in person to check out the venue and plans for decorating. He was kind through all of it! We had a brunch and it was really good. He allowed us to come 2 hrs prior to the party to set up. Such a lovely experience. A God honoring experience. Families coming together to celebrate a new baby on the way! Thank you!

We were in Michigan for a family reunion all the way from Connecticut and decided to step out for a couple's dinner. Lovely delicious experience. Erin, our waitress, was phenomenal!! We were so impressed we brought our elders in the family back for dinner the next evening! 🎉💙😊

We decided to have our wedding here. It looked like a nice setting on the water and accommodations for 90 plus guest last minute Matt was a great guy to work with and even made adjustments for us Jazmin was our lead waitress and went above and beyond to ensure a great experience- she was phenomenal Many people commented on the ambience , the food, and a overall great experience

I tried this place a few years ago and wasn't impressed. So Sunday we took our niece there for her birthday lunch. Well, what a great improvement these owners did! Our food was wonderful. Emma, our server, did a fabulous job also. I had the Santa Fe salad yummy. My niece had the fish and chips, and she said it was great. We will definitely return for an encore dinner or lunch. The food is also reasonably priced.

Went to The Waterfront for their Wednesday lobster special and it did not disappoint. I requested the kitchen dismantle it for me, so I didn't have to struggle with it. (What do you do with the head, anyway? Lol) Our server Haley was very attentive, as was the rest of the staff. Chef Steve was also talking to tables, which you rarely see the chef in the front of the house. We also had pomegranate martinis, which were delicious. Add the beautiful waterfront view with freighters going by, and it's the perfect dinner destination. Highly recommend.

We just had our brokerage meeting there which included a zoom meeting with one of our vendors. Everything was great!! The food (especially the Coconut Shrimp and Steak & Cheese Egg Rolls) was the best I ever had!! (Yes, I love appetizers) The server was first class and the venue was spectacular!...Wi-Fi worked great as well...even out on the deck, near the water....thank you!

I had my wedding at The Waterfront Wyandotte and everything was perfection!!!! All of the guests raved about the location, the food and the staff!!! My husband and I could not be happier!!! The staff specifically Jaz, Aubree, Matt, Rochelle and Alyssa were the sweetest and so on top of everything. They are the best staff ever!!! Thank you guys so much for giving us all the most memorable day of our lives!!

They have a room upstairs for private banquets. Bar upstairs and downstairs. They catered our event with some great food. This was a reunion of sorts for the class of 73, for those who would be turning 70 in 2025. Atmosphere is great, they had a Dj for the event also.

I’ve been coming here for years. This place is quite amazing! Spectacular view! Patio right on the water! They have a small rooftop bar that’s very nice! Service has always been great! Attentive & friendly staff every single time. Food is sprays beautifully presented and tasty. I’ve never been disappointed here. The adult drinks are well made! The “Paloma” drink is a well-balanced option, not too sweet and not bitter; just the perfect mix. In the summer months I come here st least once a month, sometimes more.

Great downriver place for ambiance and waterfront dining. They had a live band outside by the pier. They have several bars on site. There is a main bar inside and multiple bars outside. If you go upstairs outside, there is a nice patio bar with comfy seating overlooking the water. The drinks were really good. Food was decent, but we only had basic food this time, pizzas and burgers. Maybe other menu items are better. I get the feeling that when you come here you are paying for the views, brews and ambiance and good times.

K
Keith Killoran

The food was good overall! The salmon portion was slightly smaller than expected (4 oz.?), but as a whole, the salmon, along with the rice & vegetables, made a completely satisfying meal. The atmosphere was also perfect for me (the 40+ crowd). We chose to eat inside this time as a cover band played on the outdoor patio/dock (see photos), but we've eaten outside too. The band didn't bother us, but we wanted to be able to talk to our other companions. Fascinating to watch all the folks dancing (think of your middle-aged uncle and aunt after a few mimosas at a wedding), but all were having fun, and there were no jerks. There was only ONE complaint that we had, and that was at the bar. We arrived an hour before the rest of our guests (to have a few drinks to prepare ourselves... ;-) ) and purposely showed up during happy hour. However, we were unable to sit at the bar (seats maybe a dozen) because there were already a few people there, but someone who I assume was an employee/manager/owner was occupying 2, arguably three seats with his laptop/paperwork/outside drinks spread out on the bar (see photo). Usually, I would only care about that, but because we had to sit adjacent to the bar (still not a big deal), but we were ineligible for the happy hour specials. Seriously...staff is taking up multiple bar seats doing their paperwork. The place wasn’t crowded yet, so it's understandable why sitting at the bar may have seemed like a good idea...but cripes, extend the happy hour discount for folks that can't sit there because you've turned it into your remote office. All that said, though, we would go back.

Food was alright a little on the plane side but over all still pretty good. Had dinner here with my partner ate outside view is pretty.

Absolutely love sitting on the patio having a cocktail or a bite to eat. Service is always attentive and friendly. Drink prices are reasonable. On Wednesday evenings they usually have a band and it's always a good time. Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of the menu. The quality and taste is just acceptable. I definitely plan on attending during summer evenings.

K

A step above beach bar this is, fine dining it is not. Friendly staff whose attention is hampered by an extremely long walk to kitchen. Great patio with people enjoying special occasions. Come to enjoy the atmosphere with friends, expect a decent meal.

S
Sherri Czuchra

Four of us dined with Liam being our super friendly and attentive waiter. We ordered steak bites, French dip, and a couple other sandwiches that were just okay. We ordered drinks and enjoyed the live band. I was very surprised to see a waitress at another table serving flaming cheese or something and she must have blew on the flames at least three times to get the flames to go out. Then served it to her customers! There is no way I would have eaten it after she kept blowing on my food.

Service was very friendly and not too long of a wait. We went around 5pm on Sat. Our food took a long time to be brought out but it was a beautiful day so we didn't mind much but if you're in a hurry it will probably be an issue. I had the Chicken tacos with Cole slaw and my son had the BLT wrap with French fries and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. Water and 1 soft drink. Total was $22.42. Entrees range from $18-$50 each but have good serving sizes. We sat out on the patio which was nice. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because 2 of the jugs of water that they brought us had stuff floating in them. It's clearly a "sparkling water" jug that they are refilling. The 3rd one they brought out was clear however. I enjoyed my meal and would come back despite the water issue.

B
Branden Miller

It was a solid OK. My dinner group had 2x fish and chips and a salmon. One of the fish and chip plates had a hair on it. The other had paper in the Cole slaw. Both were taken care of quickly by the server. The fish was fried enough that there was an abundance of oil. My friend stated that the salmon was really good. I didn’t take pictures of the food since it was just average. The best part as the outdoor eating area but the view of the water was partially blocked by a large building at the end of their eating area. The atmosphere was excellent.

So I went here for my anniversary in Feb the first time. It was completely empty and we had great service. My food was amazing. However, going back for my birthday in May was the opposite. They took my favorite thing off the menu. The service was SOOO slow and they didn’t have many gluten free options. They cooked some stuff very weird. I was highly unsatisfied.

Was seated at a dirty table, got waters from the hostess and then almost 30 mins later I asked a manager for attention! Meals are not cheap and by time I got my silverware my food was cold. The manager did send over free dessert for our wait but I just wasn’t thrilled about the whole first time experience. The view and vibe on the water was nice. But definitely won’t be back.

Extremely Disappointed – Not the Same Anymore We’ve been coming to this restaurant about 6x in the last year and have always enjoyed the food — especially the cod fish sandwich, which my husband looks forward to every time. We even travel 40 minutes just to eat here. Unfortunately, this last visit was the worst experience we’ve had so far. Service was incredibly slow. Our server didn’t seem to know the menu well and took forever to bring out my toddler’s beverage. We requested a switch from pasta to fish for her meal, and it took at least 20 minutes to come out — at that point, we just asked them to box it up. I also asked for pickles on the side for my sandwich and waited a minimum of 10 minutes. By the time they arrived, my sandwich was cold. On top of that, the cod sandwich just didn’t taste the same — definitely not the quality we’re used to. My husband was so disappointed he said he won’t be returning. We’re not sure if there’s new management, a different chef, or a change in staff — but something is definitely off. Really disappointing to see one of our favorite spots fall off like this.

D
Desaraea Wilson

Today's lunch with a friend was disappointing. We ordered the salmon burger, salmon Caesar salad, and spinach dip with pita chips, but the dip was watery and tasteless, and the chips overcooked. When we informed our waitress, she replied that it was made that way. We were unimpressed. The salmon burger and salad had thin, bland filets that tasted frozen. The service was slow, and I won't be returning.

Food was fine. I’m more mad about this ridiculous answering system. I’ve been talking to an ai bot for 15 minutes trying to get connected to a real person to see if my card was located. Ai is killing our planet and all around awful. Very unhelpful no one would pick up the phone.

Should have known what to expect when the front entrance chandelier looked like a Halloween decoration— covered in cobwebs. Not a couple… covered. I think this restaurant is trying to be nice and has an opportunity to be so, but it is clear that management is overlooking some things and/or the team is overworked/understaffed. The view of the river is pleasant and the staff was friendly. However, our server was saying “absolutely” a ton as an affirmative without listening to what we were saying. It was customer service voice on overkill. Checked in with our table and did not wait for any words to be spoken before saying “great!” and walking away. I’m not a slow talker. Our pasta was meh (not nearly hot)— salmon was good, rolls were delicious. Not high quality veggies or pasta sauce. Overall, COULD be neat. Needs some deep cleaning and QC on food temp and basic server procedures. Not worth over $60 for 1 pasta entree, rolls, side salad, and 2 small pours of wine.

Danialle Baumgardner

Had a very unfortunate experience of both entrees being very poor. We ordered the mushroom and spinach Alfredo and the fish and chips. The Alfredo was ordered without protein and came with a rare steak mixed in. We took the steak out (dripping red into the sauce) and put it on a separate plate. We told the server and were told to “take the steak home to the dogs.” The fish and chips had absolutely no flavor (the tartar sauce added some dill and relish flavor) and the breading of the fish was wet. We brought all this to the managers attention where he compensated us by giving us punch style gift cards (must make a drink purchase to use and must visit multiple times to get the full use of the cards) and removing the Alfredo. I’m never ever one to ask for management but I can say this is easily the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in recent years.

L
Leah Soto

Ambulance was great, however; our server Ronnie brought us extremely dirty plates for our apps. I needed to point out the unwashed dishes. Once our app came (steak & cheese egg rolls), the sauce was extremely salty. Eggs rolls, mediocre. Our entrees took awhile (not busy) & the surf & turf shrimp w/sauce was soooo salty almost inedible. The potatoes had no seasoning at all, so I used the sauce but still crazy salty. The southwest salad that was ordered, the dressing was extremely salty. Highly disappointed in the food quality & our server did not accommodate accordingly for any issues. Will not be back.

S
Scott Ansley

Server was too busy with shower guests at other table to give us attention. Fish sandwich came with a touch of tartar sauce. Had to wait 20 minutes to get any and then she had someone else deliver it. Asked for more ice tea and ice she brought the ice but not the tea. Never got the tea! The sandwich was now cold so we sent it back! See attached picture. 3 different parties going on at the same time. Saw multiple tables being neglected. We felt marginalized to take carry of the other parties.

I'm not even a fan of Applebee's but they have better tasting food than this place. I got the potato leek soup, fried perch, mashed potatoes, and chef's veg. The soup was just ok. The perch batter was very bland, it had no flavor at all. Even the dill bechamel sauce it came with was bland. The veggies were broccoli and baby carrots 😒 it looked like a side of veggies that would've came with a kid's meal. At $25 for the meal and $126 for the entire bill, I expected more. The mashed potatoes were pretty good. The person I was with got the chicken Alfredo which had a very minimal amount of flavorless chicken and was nothing impressive. We both each tried each other's meals and agreed that most everything was bland (except my mashed potatoes). My drink was ok, I got the summer dream. The person I was with got a margarita which was not great. I've had better cocktails at other establishments, however the prices for drinks were reasonable here. Service was slow and the place was only about a quarter of the way filled. The younger blonde girl that was our waitress was very flirty with my date, which is not professional. The location is cool even though I went on a rainy day.. that's about the only thing this place has going for it. I won't be going back.

A
Ali

Let me start by saying that the only positive thing I have to say about this place is the host. He was attentive and helpful. The atmosphere and location is beautiful but that is the only foundation this place has to stand on. For starters, I know they were understaffed so I was expecting slower wait times but to have to wait a half hour for appetizers and an hour before our entree order was taken was ridiculous. It’s a given that it took forever for our dinner to arrive but I’ll start with the appetizers. Whoever and wherever they buy their frozen calamari from needs to be erased from the vendor list. It’s atrocious. It doesn’t even taste like real calamari. And what makes it worse is how it is served. Calamari is supposed to be crispy sans any extra sauce or cheese on top. It’s a simple app that does not need to be reinvented. The spinach and artichoke dip was super mushy and was sans artichoke. We could tell it was made with frozen chopped spinach and Kraft Parmesan cheese with some sort of roux that had an overbearing amount of chicken broth. It was chicken slop with spinach and cheese melted on top. Now onto my entree- I asked for mashed potatoes in lieu of wild rice and did not get it. It was brought later as a side. But my salmon was blackened on the outside and RAW on the inside. Raw. Enough said. That exhausted me enough to even go on a rant about the terrible waitress who wasn’t even our waitress, really, or how she had to reprint our bills because she didn’t know who had what and decided to split appetizers instead of asking because she didn’t take our orders initially. She was young and overworked so that was understandable. All of this really falls on the management. I can’t criticize management of a restaurant because I don’t know the ins and outs. However, as a customer burning gas and paying for food to patronize, there are many things that should be worked out and the food should be the main focus if all else fails.

2 couples ordered full dinners. 2 fish and chips dinners; pork chops dinner; Chicken Marsala dinner. Although waitress indicated cod was purchased from Weyand's, it was tasteless (possibly the strange batter). The 3 pieces of fish were in a square shape (very odd). The cole slaw that came with the fish dinners was inedible (very strange taste). The fries were the only redeeming quality of the fish dinners. The pork chop dinner was dry and tough (potatoes and veggies were ok). The Chicken Marsala was unrecognizable with scallions scattered on top and if there was any marsala sauce, it was almost invisible. Noodles weren't fully cooked. In addition, these were not inexpensive meals, however, no salad/soup was included, and rolls were only available for $5.99 for a basket. Sadly, this was an extremely disappointing dining experience. Our waitstaff was very attentive and we had no issue with her whatsoever. Based on the terrible quality of four dinners, we will not be returning to this venue.

Wanted to try a new place to celebrate a birthday. We should’ve seen that there was only one person in the entire restaurant on a Sunday evening as the first warning sign. Ordered one of the non-alcoholic drinks off the menu, tasted terrible. Had a very off taste, and none of the flavors went together. We asked for an appetizer, the waiter stated they were out of three different appetizers. Yes, three different appetizers, on a Sunday evening they were out of. Honestly, we wish we would’ve left after that, but we proceeded to try and give the entree a try. Third warning should’ve been when they brought out A1 steak sauce to our table before dinner came. We both ordered the sirloin dinner, which came with potatoes, and chef’s choice of vegetables (zucchini and broccoli this time). Our waiter had asked us to cut into the middle of our steak to make sure it was done correctly. Which, we found a little strange, because every restaurant we’ve been to, the waiter/waitress does that for you. Steak was done correctly, but was the worst steak I ever had. Outside was not seared, but very burnt, hard to cut through. Extremely chewy, very hard to eat steak. So much in fact, that I could only have two bites of it. Lacked flavor and seasoning, was absolutely tasteless. The potatoes were very small, that had some kind of seasoning on top that did not go well with them. On top it, they were on the edge of being burnt. The vegetables? I wish I could say better, but they tasted like they were just threw on a plate. Broccoli was absolutely not cooked, and the zucchini/squash was mushy and has no seasoning. The best thing about the dinner was the shrimp. We ordered it surf and turf style, and came with three pieces. I had very little of my dinner and had to box it up and leave. Our waiter was very nice and provided wonderful service above all else. The restaurant is beautiful, and looks like it has so much more potential than this. We read so many great reviews, and were so excited to try this place, and turned out to be one of, if not the worst dinner we’ve had. We will not be back, we were beyond disappointed, an absolute waste of $90.
