LOVE THIS PLACE!! It is a "Gem" where you can enjoy a great meal with good friends over laughs and drinks. Had a fun time seeing Mehdi [owner] and Mona [waitress]. I love that we are always welcomed with a smile and treated like family. Especially on Valentine's without a reservation. Thanks for all you do. We look forward to coming back soon.

The first time I came here, it was wonderful!!! The chef is very talented, the staff is very sweet. Friendly and fun. The food is excellent. I particularly love the fettuccine, the meatloaf and the ribs!! Everything about this place is perfect. O will always patronize Z Cafe!!!!!

This place was so good and the people are very nice, too! We had the crab cakes, grilled bread, lobster ravioli, and risotto with blackened salmon, plus some drinks--on and off the happy hour menu. It's a classic, chill atmosphere, we will definitely be back!

Second time getting take out from here and the blackened chicken Alfredo is fantastic. Love the flavor. The packaging was secure and reassuring. The workers all greeted me when I came in and picked up my food. The place was packed. And my food was ready before I got there. Will definitely try more entrees here.

Such a friendly (thank you, Tony - you are a superlative server! Helped make the experience comfortable and delightful 🙂) food was yummy, happy hour is fantastic. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Easy to get to, close to theaters.

Went there for Oakland Restaurant Week with 3 others and had a great time. Food was excellent especially the pot roast, apple walnut salad, chicken piccata and bread pudding. Lively atmosphere, extensive cocktail menu and awesome service. We'll definitely be coming back!

The steamed veggies tasted fresh, mashed potatoes and gravy were good, meatloaf had a good flavor but had pieces of gristle. The house wine was terrible and was cheerfully exchanged. The server was pleasant and efficient. The room feels expansive and airy with a pleasant nudge from the building's history. Located a few blocks from Kaiser Permanente. Location is Broadway Auto Row.
