Opinions de Taqueria Nuestro Mexico Abilene
Living in Texas affords folks the luxury of having a never-ending market for fine Mexican cuisine. It is difficult to find a place that truly surpasses others. However, during a recent visit to Abilene, I found Heaven on a plate at Taqueria Nuestro Mexico! This food was absolutely divine! From the chips and salsa to the fire-roasted jalapeño and green onion that accompanies each entrée, the people working there know what quality looks like and they serve it with a smile. Excellence is obviously a key ingredient in everything they serve!
Food here is always good, the steak and eggs is my favorite it hits every single time 💯 service is always good everyone is quick to take care of you, love the music the whole place is a vibe. Food is great and the prices are very good for what you get.
Nice atmosphere with a low volume music playing in the background. Just enough to break the silence. My waitress was Melissa. She came to the table with a big smile and was very attentive through the entire time I was there. Available but not overbearing. The chips and salsa was fresh and very well seasoned with a touch of heat. I ordered a single crispy taco which was very well flavored and the beef rib plate. The meat was very authentic flavored and the rice beans, salad and guacamole was very fresh and tasted really good. It was a great experience and to be honest Melissa was a huge part of the experience. I will definitely come back and would highly recommend the restaurant.
Good food, the plates we had were decently priced and had a fair amount of food. The food itself was well-seasoned and had good texture. Food was fresh. Service was so-so.
Disclaimer: I love crispy bacon. If you are the type of person that likes floppy bacon you may want to request that when ordering food that has bacon. The huevos Rancheros was fantastic. Potatoes, beans, eggs, salsa, bacon, and tortillas. Do you really me anything else. The prices are great and the portions are large.
Very good food and service. They serve breakfast all day after 11am add .40 cents more for the breakfast. I recommend the breakfast tacos for the light eater. Less then 2 bucks. Definitely worth the price. So far everything looks good, very delicious. I would highly recommend eating here see for yourself.
1st time here and 1st impression what's that good but I stuck around because I heard the food was good. Got there and waited about 15 mins until I finally got helped. Two guys walked in and got helped not even 3 mins from being seated. I counted about 5 waitress and there was at least 12 - 15 tables occupied. Food was actually good. I would go back to try their breakfast and also see if the morning service is different.
First time I ate here it was quite good. Second and third time was okay. So I guess I'll only go on the weekends when the food is better. When you dine in why do you have to request chips and salsa?
When you say you close at 9 and someone shows up at 8:25, you do not close up around them. I understand doing closing duties but refusing to make things on your menu that says you have it all day is ridiculous. Ran out of rice… ran out of chicken… and rude service. The food we did get was decent.
Gave it a second try after having terrible, flavorless menudo the first time. I got a bean and barbacoa burrito $8.50 that was nothing but fat and again no flavor. For the price the size was small. I can not recommend this place as there are much better options in Abilene for Mexican food.
This is based off of one interaction and one meal. I was told this place had the best Mexican food in town but if that's the case I feel bad for this town. I ordered the #30 rice meat cheese dish and I'm thinking I should have stuck with something more traditional. $16 and it didn't even fill the bottom of the box. Ridiculously salty. When I asked for some red sauce/hot sauce to go with it the lady simply said no then walked away. The beef and chicken were tasty. Shrimp was ok. Rice was plain and the cheese sauce was nasty. I would be willing to give the place another shot but I'd get a basic burrito and see if that's even good. I'm only here for 3 more days though so I won't be back.
I hadn't been here in a year because of our previous bad experience with customer service, but I thought if I go through the drive thru I don't have to worry about being treated poorly. I waited 30 minutes for one order of the migas plate. They forgot all about me after I paid. The tortillas are so small, they fit in the palm of my hand, there were a few large potatoes chunks on the side, there was a thin layer of the eggs that barely covered the bottom of the compartment they were in, and nothing had flavor EXCEPT the refried beans which were WAY too salty. I wanted to like this place, but I paid then was ignored for 30 minutes at the drive thru just to be disappointed by the smallest portions and no flavor
The food was ok but the service was terrible. They have agua frescas on the menu but our waitress said they only had lemonade and horchata. The major problem was, we initially asked for coffee. Our waitress said they didn't have it. A few minutes later, the man at the table near us had his mug refilled with coffee. We looked around and literally everyone else had coffee. We asked at the counter about the coffee and the other lady said the coffee machine was broken. We weren't loud, disrespectful, rude or anything of that nature. Just blatant mistreatment. At the end of the day, it's just coffee, but it's the principle and underlying intent. I will not patronage where I'm not wanted.
Love the food here, however, the service is AWFUL. Went in this evening and sat at a table..waited for our server. Granted, they were very busy, but 2 other groups came in after us and were waited on almost immediately, we were ignored. Wait staff at the front, looking right at us. The other 2 tables were right next to ours. Its understandable if this happens occassionally when a restaurant is very busy, but this was the 4th or 5th time this has happened when we go. The food is VERY good, but not worth being ignored. YOU LOST regular customers
Placed an order for pick up, when I went to pick it up they took 15 minutes to even acknowledge me at the drive thru and my order wasn’t ready. After I finally flagged someone down to come to the window. I was told that someone would be with me shortly. I explained briefly that I was just picking up a Togo order I had placed. The lady told me yes they would be with me that they were very busy. After 20 minutes I decided to go inside and try to pick my order up. The lady leaned over around the customer she was checking out and asking if I was ready? I explained that I had been waiting into the window. She acknowledged that she had know that she was that busy inside taking care of the other customers. When I asked if my service was important she printed the receipt and threw it away. Definitely not a friendly environment all about their money.
Worst restaurant experience ever. I am in the food service business and know how restaurants operate. First the wrong food was delivered. When corrected the burrito was delivered as pictured here, not as the menu picture depicted. When brought to the manages attention, she claimed the menu pic was of a different burrito. When she reentered the burrito order she charged for beans, rice lettuce, etc essentially making it a $30 burrito. She argued with us in Spanish and English until we threw down cash for the one correct meal, +tax and tip. I haven't seen a restaurant treat patrons in such a rude manner!
I arrived at around 7:50 PM and they close at 9 PM. Few people there. One gentleman got his chips and drink order right away while I had to wait for my server. She was too busy cleaning the place and not attending her tables. Someone else took my drink order, then my waiter brought it with the menu. Didn’t even bring chips and salsa. I had to ask for them. She took my order and then brought me the chips and salsa. My costilla plate took a minute to get to me. Keep in mind that the people there had already had their food. I was pretty much the only one with no food. My plate comes out and of course she didn’t bring the tortillas. I had to get the attention of another waiter to get me some tortillas. Well there goes 20 minutes later and still not tortillas. I had already finished my meal by that time and got up to pay my tab. My main waiter checked me out but there was not going to get her to understand what she did wrong. Didn’t waste my time. If you can’t do 2 things at once, don’t do them. Attend to your tables and clean later when you have none. I felt like I was a bother to her and she wasn’t helpful. My plate lacked seasoning. Price was fine. Overall, the customer service for me is a 0. Sucks we have to leave at least 1 star… not from here and definitely won’t be back / wouldn’t recommend it it to anyone I know.
