Lugar increíble, tragos increíbles y staff increíble. Los tragos son una explosión de sabores, mis favoritos fueron Isla Bonita, Mi-so Honey y Alotta Butta (este fue 🤯). High end. El staff es de lo más atento, iluminación tenue, música ambiente ideal. Probé "isla bonita" y "lotta butta", una delicia ambos. El snack de aceitunas viene bien para dos personas.

Fantástico! El bar realmente rompe esquemas. La barra es de gran tamaño, pero recomiendo reservar con anticipación para asegurar un lugar en esta. También cuentan con un mesón compartido bastante largo. Los cócteles son muy novedosos sin caer en lo innecesario. Manejan técnicas llamativas, como el aire, lo que hace la experiencia muy memorable. La atención es hospitalaria, simpática y de buen espíritu. Increíble lugar, espero volver y sentarme en la barra algún día!

He tenido la fortuna de recorrer muchos de los mejores bares del mundo y Fo+Ma queda sin duda en el podio. Para su corta vida, ha logrado un ambiente, barra, experiencia y calidad de producto que otros quisieran. Es un bar joven, me voy feliz de conocerlo en sus inicios y expectante de su evolución.

En la Roma Norte… territorio fértil de tendencias efímeras… FOMA se planta como un manifiesto. No es un bar: es una idea bien servida. Detrás de su nombre, Form + Matter, hay algo más que estilo. Hay una filosofía. Cada cóctel, cada gesto, cada bocado responde a una lógica que mezcla alquimia, arquitectura y audacia. Diseñado por Alberto Kalach, el espacio impone con su brutalismo sobrio. Nada decora, todo enmarca. La forma prepara el terreno para la materia: nitrógeno, fat wash, infusiones con precisión científica y un paladar que no teme lo desconocido. Aquí no se bebe por inercia. Se explora. El Patagonia Fizz es geografía líquida: yerba mate, gin, pomelo y menta. El Spicy Espresso Martini es vértigo: tequila, café y chiles que punzan con elegancia. Y el Good Sex —aceituna, Tanqueray 10, aceite de chile— desafía al clásico martini llevándolo a terrenos casi animales. Recomendado por Andoni uno de los bartenders de Handshake Speakeasy. Las expectativas eran altas. Carla y Lucia nos atendieron a mi y a mi esposa y no nos fallaron. Los cocteles estuvieron deliciosos al igual que la comida! 10 de 10 lo recomiendo!

El diseño es muy lindo. Los tragos igual, muy ricos y muy variados. La música está bien de volumen. La atención es muy buena. Y los aperitivos que ofrecen muy ricos, me encantan los bao bao.

El lugar perfecto para ir por cocteles espectaculares con amigos o a una date! Aquí puedes encontrar varios cócteles de Handshake porque algunos de sus mixologos pasaron por ahí y están deliciosos y a menor precio. Si te animas puedes pedirle al personal que te haga tour por el laboratorio y es impresionante!

Definitivamente el mejor bar de la Ciudad de México! Después de la moda de los speakeasy, por fin llega un bar que se siente inspirado, nuevo y, de alguna manera familiar sin dejar de ser lo que estabas buscando. He ido unas 5 o 6 veces, todas con personas diferentes, y de verdad que no ha habido una sola persona a quien haya llevado que no haya salido encantada con el lugar! La calidad es inigualable, empezando por los tragos. Tienen una carta excelente inspirada en todo el mundo con un trago para cualquier gusto. El ingrediente que prefieras transformado de maneras que no te imaginabas con técnicas increíbles que hacen una experiencia increíble. Incluso los mocktails son deliciosos! Los precios de verdad que son super adecuados para la calidad y experiencia que te ofrecen. El ambiente también es excelente, a gusto, tranquilo y perfecto para cualquier ocasión, ya sea que estés empezando la noche o cerrando de manera épica, definitivamente hay algo para todos. Si además eres de a quienes les gusta picar algo mientras disfrutas tu trago, este lugar te sorprende también con la comida. Los baos son perfectos, con una mezcla perfecta de México (con un chicharrón dulzón que sorprende) y un toque asiático mucho mejor que la mayoría de lugares "asiáticos". Tampoco puedes dejar de probar el pan, que viene acompañado de una mantequilla con ron (en su punto perfecto) y aceite de oliva que no sabías que era el acompañamiento perfecto. Y para cerrar, el servicio es increíble, te tratan de verdad como si fueras familia. Todos quienes trabajan en este lugar no sólo son unos profesionales completos, además tienen una pasión por lo que hacen que no se ve en ningún lugar. Te acompañan, explican y atienden como si fueras el único en el lugar, nunca te hace falta nada e incluso cumplen más que cualquier exigente petición. Definitivamente Form + Matter llega a romper con las expectativas, estándares y el nivel de la coctelería en México. Hazte un favor y no dejes de visitarles. Y cuando vayas, pídete, al menos, un Isla bonita, un patagonia Fizz y un Alota Butta! Obvio abriendo con los baos y cerrando con el Bread and Butter (el pancito con Mantequilla).

¿Qué puedo decir? El lugar es Fabuloso, las personas que están en este bar me hacen sentir en casa. Sus cocteles son deliciosos y la comida es ideal para un bar. Muchas gracias David por tan amable hospitalidad y siempre darme un cóctel Clásico diferente. Si tienes la oportunidad, no la desaproveches. La música es muy variada y el espacio es bastante amplio, puedes charlar con tranquilidad con tus amigos y con las personas en la barra. Coctel favorito del menú: isla bonita e key lime pie. Una de las últimas adiciones a la escena de bares y cocteles en la CDMX. Excelente propuesta, el lugar es muy agradable, con buena iluminación, diseño, música y buen ambiente. Se nota la atención al detalle. El menú tiene cocteles con sabores y perfiles inspirados en distintos lugares del mundo, algunos clásicos modernos y un par de opciones para picar algo (muy buenos los bao bao). Se celebra también que tengan opciones sin alcohol. Muy destacada la hospitalidad, atención y profesionalismo de todo el equipo. Sin duda recomendado.

Is a beautifully designed and highly aesthetic bar — the kind of place that makes you want to take a picture before even ordering. The atmosphere feels refined yet relaxed, perfect for a night out with friends or a date. The drinks were absolutely amazing — creative, beautifully presented, and clearly crafted with attention to detail. Every cocktail felt original and well thought out. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Yes, the prices are on the higher side, but honestly, the quality justifies it. You’re paying for craftsmanship and presentation, not just a drink. The only real downside was the music. We went on a Friday night, and the playlist felt totally off — jumping from cumbia to reggaeton with some awkward mixes in between. It didn’t match the elegant, modern vibe of the bar at all.

Out of all the incredible bars we visited in Mexico City, including several on the World’s 50 Best list, Form & Matter was the only one we went back to twice. That alone says a lot. The drinks here are some of the most innovative and fun I’ve ever had. You can tell how much care and intention goes into every cocktail here, from the concept to the execution. The whole team clearly loves what they do and takes pride in both the craft and the guest experience. I could talk cocktails with Jose and the rest of the team all night. It’s a rare place that perfectly combines creativity, hospitality, and genuine passion. We’ll absolutely be back next time we’re in Mexico City.

A lovely cocktail bar with creative drinks, nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. Our group tried a bunch of drinks and standouts voted best by most were Miso-Honey, Kon-Tiki, and white chocolate negroni. Would definitely come again to try the rest of the cocktail menu and have another Kon-tiki. I also appreciated little considerate touches like real hand towels over paper in the washroom and free sanitary products, which makes the place feel extra cared for.

TLDR; go before it’s too hard to get in to I visited Mexico City from NYC for a weekend trip and went to a few of the renowned bars. Foma was by far the best bar we visited - the drinks were incredible. I highly recommend the Lotta Butter and the Kimlet - these two drinks are unlike anything I’ve ever had in the cocktail scene in NYC and truly unique. The staff was incredible - we had the privilege of touring their back lab area and getting a firsthand look at how some of the drinks are made. While Handshake has its merits, I personally felt like cattle at handshake where we were rushed in and out and Handshake was overall highly overrated. In comparison, Foma’s staff was kind, the drinks were truly better, and the vibe was way less like being in line at Disney and more like being at a world class cocktail bar. I expect the next time I visit, Foma will be really difficult to get into. If you’re in the area and want amazing drinks, I highly recommend Foma!

Yesterday while on an Amazing cocktail bar tour hosted by Mario (you can find him on Airbnb experiences 10/10), he took us here after visiting Handshake Bar (Best bar in the world for 2025). The owner of this bar used to work for Handshake as one of their Bartenders btw!! We were able to meet him, have cocktails, try some of the snacks, socialize and we were even invited to see their “laboratory”. The staff are young (30+) and have years of experience. I had the “Spicy Mango-Loma”, a new take on the Paloma (a Mexican classic). It was delicious and easy to drink. The salt dusted on the side of the glass has a spicy kick and sits so well with the mango flavour. We had the olives and the bread and butter, both were delicious. The staff are friendly and attentive. It hasn’t gotten to the level of Handshake regarding busyness (YET!), so I highly suggest you try it out before it does. Definitely my favourite of the bars we went to!

My friends and I stopped by this place on a whim one night and I’m glad we did! We were a five-man group with no reservations, but they graciously squeezed us in so we could grab a quick drink. The drinks here were phenomenal! We stopped by a lot of bars in CDMX and this was definitely one of our favorites. This beat out some of the “Top Ranked Bars” that we’ve previously tried in CDMX. We tried Miso-Honey, Alotta Butta, Kim-let, and Lychee Martini. I feel like I’m missing two, but they were all great! Staff were fantastic. From host to bartenders. We sat at the bar and Karla tended to us. She gave us great recommendations and talked to us about the cocktails. We also got a chance to meet one of the owners, David. Super cool guy and knows his stuff. Overall, a great establishment with great drinks, staff, and atmosphere! Although less than a year old, I would not be surprised if this bar ends up on the “World’s Top Bars” list in the near future.

We stumbled across FO+MA on our walk through Roma and was immediately drawn to the beautiful aesthetic from the outside looking in. We were kindly greeted by Jose and although the bar had no available seating at the time, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us until seating became available. The drink menu is carefully thought out and innovative, drawing inspiration from travel experiences across other countries. The various techniques used to curate these cocktails can go unseen, but a quick glance into the “lab” at the back of the bar gave us a level of appreciation for the drinks. We loved FO+MA so much we returned the next night to try some of the other cocktails. Jose, among other staff came by and kindly greeted us again, which definitely made us feel welcomed. FO+MA has easily become one of our favorite bars in CDMX and we will be surely be back next time!

From the atmosphere and vibes to the highly curated menu and outstanding service, this is one of Mexico City’s true GEMS. Jose, Carla, Roberto and the whole staff were SO accommodating, kind, and absolutely wonderful - they made our evening! We had the Lotta Butter, Isla Bonita and Patagonia Fizz. While all drinks were amazing - the Lotta Butter was my top fave - it’s complex flavors and mix of temperatures develops in your mouth in the most unique way. Also it’s Ron Zacapa base is a true delight! We got to tour the lab and the whole venue is really inspired - beautifully curated and thoughtfully put together in every single detail. The staff is extremely attentive, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Few places have ever impressed me as much as this location! We also had the bread and butter plate (brioche with rum butter and gin olive oil) - so delish! If you’re still reading this, just book your reservation already. Thank you Jose and team, we will definitely be back asap to enjoy more deliciouly curated cocktails!

The drinks here are truly next level, creative, delicious, and beautifully crafted. The service was excellent, and you can tell the whole team really strives for the best. What impressed me most is that they don’t just serve you a drink, they explain the story and concept behind it, which makes the experience so much more special. We were lucky to share some drinks with one of the owners and an associate, who gave us a behind-the-scenes look at how the bar was created, how the staff is trained, and even how they run their own laboratory to prepare everything—from fun touches like rubber ducks to high-tech machines for freezing and experimenting. It was such a unique and memorable experience, and absolutely worth a visit!

Form + Matter (FOMA) is an absolute standout and one to watch in mixology scene. As a New Yorker who’s always tracking the most happening cocktail bars around the world, I don’t say that lightly! I’ve already been twice in the span of 32 hours, and each visit left me more impressed. The bar is beautifully designed, the energy is vibrant but intimate, and the team behind the counter is truly world-class. The mixologists are not only incredibly skilled but also a hospitality superstars who brings passion and storytelling to every pour. Over my two visits I sampled the Lychee Martini (a solid, refreshing pick, and aesthetically pleasing to the eye!), the Patagonia Fizz (a gin-based, light, and fruity. Good way to start ), and the Kim-let a daring cocktail featuring kimchi brine that absolutely blew me away. Complex, unexpected, and brilliantly balanced. Oh and don’t sleep on the non alcoholic options either. My friend doesn’t drink and he had the Key lime pie and was raving about it ! FOMA isn’t just serving great drinks it’s reimagining the cocktail experience with intention and artistry. Their commitment to elevating rising mixologists and putting a fresh spin on the classics makes this spot a must-visit. Keep an eye out this place is destined for the big lists soon. 🍸✨

3.5 Tenía expectativas muy altas por las reseñas. Pedimos cuatro cocteles, El Último estilo old fashioned, fue nuestro favorito. El Miso Honey no destacó. Pedí los dos mocktails y me gustó más el Key Lime Pie, aunque está diminuto. El Free Bird supo cómo a juguito y tenía un after taste raro. Precios exhorbitantes.

Los cócteles y la experiencia en la barra son muy buenos. Sin embargo, me decepcionó que todos los tragos estén pre-elaborados, y eso le quita el encanto. No tienen opciones de comida. Además, en un punto llegó un grupo grande de extranjeros que empezó a fumar marihuana dentro del bar. Lo toleraron durante mucho tiempo y todo el ambiente se llenó del olor. Deberían ser más cuidadosos con ese tipo de situaciones

Los tragos están muy ricos, pero les ponen hielos gigantescos y la verdad la cantidad de bebida es super mínima. Los precios varían, pero algo elevados. La comida está a precios ridículos (pan con mantequilla 200 pesos jaja). La música y el ambiente me gustaron mucho, pero dudo volver. Recomiendo ampliar las opciones para comer y considerar el tema de los hielos.
