Opinions de Bryan Street Tavern Addison
This is a great bar. I have been coming for years. Good price on alcohol and daily specials. Food is on par for bar food. Fries are sensational. Love the outdoor area, but wish they would maintain the sand volleyball court a little better as some areas of the court may leave you with some knicks on your knees.
I moved here a year ago from Missouri and was looking for some cuisine that reminded me of home in St. Louis. The service was prompt and professional and I got my pizza and toasted raviolis. The place is huge if a little old fashioned. I really enjoyed myself. The place had a nice variety of music and a mixed crowd. I am sure to return.
Louigi is awesome. Great service. The pizza is second to none. Think yall put crack in your dough.
Very cool bar, great atmosphere, good layout - and two ladies' rooms. Smart! The pizza is really yummy, the crust is the bomb. Jason was our bartender. He was constantly staying busy, working hard, and didn't let our drinks go empty. I'm from out if state, but I would definitely go back here again when in the area.
Found this place the first night visiting Dallas for work. Came back the next 5 days. For us Bryan Street Tavern was perfect. Thank you for the real lettuce and quality bar food. See you next time!
Love the atmosphere, and jukebox is awesome! Large patio allows private conversation. Updating review still love this place. I have brought many friends and family and every time we love it. Pizza Pizza Pizza Pizza they have the best Pizza that's a promise
This place has such a cool vibe. Cool environment and great food. We got the Greek salad and they actually use romaine and spinach. Pizza is great and I was so excited that they had St Louis style pizza with provel cheese. Had been wanting to try it forever and although it's not my favorite cheese, the pizza was great and most of all...they use cornmeal on the bottom which makes a huge difference. Will absolutely be going back
The Buffalo chicken sandwich was soooo delicious and huge! Our waitress was attentive and make sure we had everything we needed. After eating, we played pool in the back. I loved the vibe. Everyone made us feel welcome.
Super speedy service! Amber is so nice and fun to be around! Had such an amazing night!!
This was my Uncle Johnny's favourite after work/weekend Hangout and he was a regular here before he passed away. They had a wonderful tribute to him after his funeral and I was deeply touched. The pizza was phenomenal, and I am STILL bragging to anyone who will listen about their amazing salad and ranch dressing. Thank you so much for everything!! Definitely coming around more often.🥰
One word - AMBER!! Exceptional service and recommendations. One of the best dive bars in Dallas. They have everything. Perfect place post work
It was great to have some good food and to take the pup out while we enjoyed the day with us.
Heather behind the bar is a ray of sunshine. She treats all her patrons amazingly. Rock star doesn't cut it. Pizza is delicious and be sure to grab a quesadilla while you're here.
This place is great and more St Louis transplants need to know about it. It has Stl style pizza that’s better than IMO’s. Order “The Lou” with T-Ravs. Half off pizza on Mondays.
Been coming here for years, so might as well leave a review. The food is surprisingly good for bar food. Nachos, totchos, fried appetizer goodness, salads, and pizzas. Haven't had the wings or any sandwich/burgers, but I imagine they would also be fantastic bar food noshes. It is a dive bar with pool tables, a trivia night, sand volleyball, and an awesome outdoor space. You have to keep in mind that they are not always staffed enough to fully encompass the whole indoor and outdoor area. Pop up to the bar and place an order, they'll happily bring it to you and will then come around to check on you. Don't of the most reasonable prices around Old East Dallas.
Amber is AMAZING. I had such a great time and honestly it was 99.9999% because of her. The service was CHEFS KISS.
We live nearby on Bryan. A couple years ago we had a very bad experience with the service, but we went back hoping for the best because the food is great. Brought a friend for pizza on their half-price Monday pizza deal. Alissa was our server, and she took very good care of us. Beyond good. I love it when a server catches my eye regularly just to be sure that I’m happy! The pizza is so damn good here, it’s a must in this neighborhood. Great spot!
Amber: Thank you for always taking care of me and my guest at the Tavern. Your service and passion for people is the best.
Great chill spot, amazing food for a bar their pizza is top tier imo. They have good drink specials throughout the week, my favorite is $2 wells on Thursday. Lots of seating inside & out, the only downfall for me is I wish the music was more diverse & you could play anything on the jukebox.
Haven't tried the pizza yet. Will update once I get some. Other than that the only reason I gave 3 stars is because I ended up with a tip charge of $2 on different occasions when I tipped in cash. 🤔
We have always gotten a pizza and wings, but today we ordered the Philly Cheesestake and fries. The fries had an awesome seasoning on them and were nice and crisp. The Cheesestake was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend. Been eating here for about 12 years. Never disappoints!
Awesome dive bar, really good bar munchies and great service. 12/10 will come pre or post game concerts again at Fair Park or AAC.
Your can't beat the Monday night pizza special for the best pizza in Dallas! It's like a salad in the form of a pizza with all the toppings!
My favorite bar in Dallas. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is delicious, and the staff is on point. Great place to come watch some games or play some pool
Me and my wife recently found this place and it’s a gym. The wings are amazing careful with the hot and I like spicy. The pizza is pretty damn good too, and the Philly had today was amazing. This place became a new favorite ours.
Great atmosphere great food and great specials. The service is personal and phenomenal. I highly recommend checking it out and if you have been to Sylvan Avenue Tavern this place is way better both in service and quality of food. My two favorites are the pizza and Cobb salad. The Cobb salad is huge and fresh. Best Cobb salad I have ever had.
DON’T GO HERE. I don’t want you to ruin this awesome place. Good neighborhood bar with wonderful staff, food, drinks and regulars. Dog friendly. Always a good time. Amazing pizza. Stop by and stay a while
Good food, service was friendly and helpful. You get a lot of food for your money. We ordered the tot-chos appetizer and the burger sliders. That appetizer could easily feed 4 people. Our friends got fries and nachos and both of those were pretty large appetizers, too. We were meeting with a large group in the afternoon and this place was very accommodating. I definitely recommend it.
Amber was awesome—super attentive, easy to talk to, and made great drinks. Felt like I was in good hands the whole time. Definitely one of the best bartenders I’ve had.
My dude and I drive 20+ minutes to go eat some awesome bar food. The pizza, wings, salads it’s all bomb. I’ve been going there for years even before I met him, and all of a sudden he just loves it as well, it’s his favorite place for pizza. Best time to go is lunch. They make a lot of their stuff from scratch. And there is a special cheese that is delivered from St Louis Provel. All the regulars are pretty fun people to meet as well. Watch out for master splinter 😉
Chill spot to hang out and watch sports and listen to music. Drink prices were reasonable. Food was pretty good. Enjoyed the seasoning on the fries and sauce on wings. The waitress was very attentive. There’s more spacious parking out back.
Music was good. Food was good. Service was good. I came on a Saturday night and they played a mix of pop country, pop, and some rock. I ordered a tavern pizza and it was delicious. I'd order it again. Next time i hope to try their boneless wings.
Service was great and the music was awesome! I tried a cider they had and it was tasty, and got to watch The Blame Shifters perform. They were great.
Kami was the best server ever! she’s amazing, so kind and helpful! The fries and beer are so good!
Great dive bar! It’s WAY bigger than it looks, they have about 4 “rooms”, an outdoor area and even a volleyball court. They also have 3 pool tables and serve food. Bartenders are great and attentive. Overall it’s a chill and cozy spot. Warning, their Hot Buffalo wing are HOT. Might want to get mild lol.
Chantelle is the most amazing bar tender there. So sweet, amazing service. She always come back to make sure we are taken care of. She’s also so funny and lights up the place!
Just had my tooth extracted and haven't had solid food for 5 days.. Philly cheese steak was phenomenal and the bartenders were on point and helped with whatever I needed. I am elated and this place hits every single thing I asked for. Thank you guys!
Cool place I can see why it is popular. Stopped in after breakfast. Had the fried ravioli and got some free fries someone did pick up. My buds and I will definitely come back.
This place is a staple for me and family. The pizza is 1/2 off on Mondays but it is worth the full price. It’s always hot, fresh, and delicious. On Wednesdays they also have a appetizer special that is well worth the moneh and calories. They play a variety of pop and older hip hop music so the atmosphere is laid back and upbeat.
Good dive bar vibe. Volleyball court, puzzles and games outside and pool tables and more inside. Good selection of food but they are probably more known for their pizza. Lots of different areas to sit depending on what type of vibe you are feeling. Great place to watch a sporting event on the television.
Food was good and the service was outstanding! Will definitely try it again. I recommend getting extra cheese sauce if you try the Philly Cheesesteak. The fries were nice and crisp, not a huge fan of the seasoning (tastes very similar to Fuzzy's Taco chip seasoning), but might have locked better with a little salt added. Still great fries though.
I’m giving the place 5 stars solely on its customer service, location, and laid back environment. I love a good chill spot with lots of seating. I didn’t order any food or drinks because I was already full. I typically like to check out restrooms when I go to a bar but I didn’t go there either. I will definitely visit them again and update this review is anything changes 😃.
Stopped in not knowing much about this place, just that it was still open and we were hungry! Ordered a veggie pizza, fried pickles and some drinks. Definitely some good late night eats. The pizza is super thing crust, toppings were generous, and price was perfect. Also had some fried pickles, also generous serving, and a great bar staple. Our server was so nice and welcoming, I didn’t catch him name but shout out to that guy for being attentive and friendly. Nice selection of draft beers on tap. Would come back again and check out the rest of the space. FYI we got there right before 11pm, our server told us full menu is available till 11pm, and after 11pm the kitchen serves pizza and wings only (which is still very rad)
Dive bar, but have some really good pizzas. Monday is half price for pizzas. Staff is really good too. Plenty of things to do and different rooms. Plus they have sand volleyball courts outside. Burgers are solid as well. Lots of beer on tap plus bottles too. Check their daily specials. Cool spot.. 😉
Not fancy by any stretch of your imagination but a great place for good food and drinks ! It has the feel of just a regular neighborhood bar. People are friendly, service is good and the food is consistent! Salads are fresh and there is a variety and pizza outstanding! Quality ingredients, and enough topping choices to please everyone! Definitely worth the trip !
Pizza was amazing! Service was good. My only complaints are it was so dark, I could barely read the menu and my table was very sticky. Easy fix to earn a 5 star review.
Josh excelled at being efficient with his service being the only server I saw on the floor on a moderately full bar on a Saturday night. Dude got us our drinks within minutes and even had recommendations for food (highly recommend the mozzarella sticks) and drinks when asked even while being busy. Mad props from another server.
Great place to meet with your friends and family for a drink. Huge bar, small selection of beers, didn’t try any cocktails. Had the Tavern Pizza and it was good but not special. Great for large parties, dinning inside and outside. Pool tables, and a few video games. Definitely worth checking out.
P decent dive bar - fried pickles were legit. Please fix the pinball machine 🙏
It's a great spot I've been there only 2 times but it's a good environment I love the fact that they have a beach volleyball court
This place is where you go for strong drinks, surprisingly solid pizza, and a patio that makes it too easy to lose track of time. The vibe is laid-back but lively, with just the right mix of regulars and newcomers. Whether you’re here for the game, the jukebox, or just a no-nonsense night with friends, it delivers every time.
Trivia is really fun. They should really work on the sound though, as it’s way too loud for just that room in the back. The MC doesn’t really need to shout into the mic, we can hear him fine so when he does it creates an awful echo. Please lower the sound stereos! I think the pizza is pretty delicious. Highly recommend. I LOVE this place. The food is good, the staff is friendly, parking is flexible, but the sound stereos are just too loud. I recommend bringing musician earplugs!
Pretty decent place, fun time and free pool so that was awesome. It smelled bad at randomn places which was very unappealing. The pizza is amazing , it's so good, it caught me by surprise honestly. The bartenders are great. All in all I might add some stars if I go back and have an even better time than before
Saw the sign in the parking lot claiming to be the best pizza in DFW. The pizza is not it, not even close. Tried their Tavern Favorite and an order of wings and was very disappointed. Tasted like a frozen pizza and wings heated up in the oven. Staff was very friendly tho. Bar itself looked very laid back and would come again for a drink. But that pizza needs some work
Nice atmosphere, the food is okay. The service is not very good. The bartenders could be a lot more friendlier. Stay away from Jason he doesn’t like his job he was very rude. He thru my receipt and debit card to sign !! No excuse me , I’m sorry , thank you or anything. My sister witnessed it and couldn’t believe his behavior. And advised she would not be attending again.
Great pizza! The service was friendly, but definitely could've been more attentive..... I came in for a late bite to eat one night, took 5-10 minutes to get noticed. Ordered a beer and something from the normal menu (which the menu said they still make late at night Thursday-Saturday). Bartender comes back 5ish minutes later saying its too late to make that anymore (but it was Thursday...) and I didn't feel like arguing so I just ordered a pizza instead. The pizza came out pretty quickly and I ordered another beer. The BBQ chicken was delicious and a good price! 20-30 minutes later, I ask to close out and whether they have me down for 1 or 2 beers (as I never got the 2nd one I ordered). The bartender turns around to look at the taps with a beer that's been sitting there for who knows how long. My beer was poured but never given to me. I had heard some others around me complaining about how long it was taking to get serviced as well. Perhaps I just came in on a really busy night, but it did look like they had enough personal to handle it. If the service could just be a bit more attentive, this'd be a great place to bring friends.
Fried pickls were great. Pizza was ok. Lots of meat and very thin crust. Couldnt taste the sauce. Id go back for bar snacks but pizza not so much. Wait staff very friendly and attentive.
10 dollar shot in a plastic throwaway cup...???? Wassup with that...comeon hire a bar back...pricey for even beer if not happy hour..disappointed for sure.
First time here. Came in, no one greeted us. Cool. Asked if we order at the bar or at the table. They said to take a seat. There was a table next to us and the waitress got their boxes and everything and only looked over. Didn’t come over at all. We go to the bar to get a drink since it was extremely hot outside. We figured while she’s finished doing whatever she had to do. She never came over. I was wanting to order food but we will try at the next place.
Beer is overly expensive here, food looked good, the bartender was quick… but seriously the beer here is like $7-$8 a piece
I came in tonight with my friend. We sat at the bar top. Took at least 10 min to even get acknowledged. Served wine in a rocks glass. Weird.. He argued with my friend about what shot she ordered.. rude! Got our food Togo and I’m missing the sauces I ask for.. and my raviolis are burnt! BAD! I’m from St. Louis, so I was excited to get The Lou Pizza as well as the fried Ravioli.. very disappointed!
Stopped by to grab dinner and watch football. The bartender exited the bar and proceeded to make/text as we stood and waited for him. No greeting. No please take a seat as we stood quietly in an empty bar. One person sat rambling to a couple pool players. One couple eating the remains of their meal and a party of 4 on the back patio. In a barren establishment, you should probably welcom any business you can get. I used to be a frequent flyer to Bryan Street and was disappointed to see it in a state of disrepair. First it didn't smell clean, no fresh and a general grungy look to the place. Paint the floor for goodness sake. Secondly, there was trash on the volleyball court. Plastic cups and general trash were even visible from the street. I was hoping to come ext week here to watch college football...Not gonna happen.
We hosted our wedding welcome party with BST and had a terrible experience. We asked multiple times for control of the music and TV screens in the back room we reserved. The first 2 times we asked the staff member said “oh the DJ isn’t there yet?” and we responded with no, didn’t know there was supposed to be a DJ. An hour later he hadn’t responded. My party was listening to loud screamo in a dark room. We were placing a sign, and a man told us not to put it there. So we moved it. He told us not to put it there either. We said okay where should we put it? He responded “I don’t know where you should put it but you definitely can not put it there” and walked away. An hour later we find out that was our DJ. After a third ask of changing the music (an hour after the event started) he set up. We finally go to talk to him about our plans for speeches. He yells at me not to put my drink on his table. I kindly say I wasn’t going to. He responds reprimanding me, telling me how expensive his equipment is. I again say I wasn’t planning on putting my drink there. I’m at a loss for words, and he rudely tells me to finish my sentence. As a whole, the staff was not kind to us. We easily brought thousands of dollars to the business from our party alone, and I was shocked that our requests took hours to complete. The food was fine. We ran out of plates multiple times and had to wait a very long time and ask the bar each time. I’m very disappointed, as we used to love Bryan Street Tavern.
This is one place I WILL NOT go back and patronize. The server got my order wrong 3 times and stated that he was going to cover the order he got wrong, but DID NOT. This also over charged my card. The food is NASTY and the drinks taste like rubbing alcohol.
don’t dine here. was up charged for a frozen chicken sandwich and was told that “maybe the menu hadnt been updated” food was terrible. service was worse though. i was cut off in the middle of my order so she could curse at other patrons, she didn’t write any of my order down so consequently she got it wrong and didn’t come visit the table again i had to call out to one of the other servers who was too busy to acknowledge me. overall worst dining experience and food i’ve had… way to take accountability for your substandard service. im hard to please cause i expect to not be overcharged and blatantly ignored. i can ignore bad food but bad service too??? do better.
I have never had to put in so much effort to get a drink in my life. It was a Monday night, after midnight, definitely not a crowded spot by any means. I sat down at the bar and the bartender absolutely didn’t acknowledge me. I had to listen for someone to call him by name and then yell his name to address him directly to actually get a drink. Are you freaking kidding me? Who just ignores someone who sits at the bar? Anyway, Jason is a horrible bartender. Now I remember why I stopped coming here.
KEEP YOUR RECEIPT! They will change your tip amount and add more. So they'll steal from you if you're not paying attention, maybe they're hoping you're too drunk to notice. The place smelled so bad. There was a dog seated at the bar with it's owner, and the bartender was touching hands with the person holding the dog, and then went right back to making drinks. That's disgusting
DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE! The wait was long even though it wasn't that busy. When I finally got a chance the ask the bartender a simple question about the food, he was rude and dismissive. To top it off, I noticed later he added an additional tip on the bill. I see from previous reviews this isn't the first time. Definitely don't recommend going to this place.
I really want to make Bryan Street a regular stop but we are always disappointed there - the bar service is horrid. The blonde bartender that’s been there for years only pays attention to people that appear to be regulars or friends. A couple weeks ago I went in to have a drink and sat at the bar for 5 min while she talked to people, rinsed glasses, basically did anything but make drinks or acknowledge the majority of the patrons at the bar. We used to come to Bryan St about once a week and even though the bar service was bad we still enjoyed the food and atmosphere. There used to be a young server with dark curly hair that was really nice all the time - haven’t seen her when we’ve been in. Last summer someone backed into my car while I was inside and it was an act of congress to even get the owner to acknowledge me and I never did get a response from him. It’s not really their problem but some kind of response would have been nice. It was fun for a while. Will look for other neighborhood spots to check out.
I visited this establishment recently and was shocked to find that the jukebox had no R&B music at all. In a diverse area, it’s hard not to see this as intentional exclusion. It’s disappointing and sends a clear message about who is—and isn’t—welcome. A business in a community like this should embrace diversity, not ignore it. I hope they reconsider their music selection and overall inclusivity, because no one should feel unwelcome in a public space. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Not sure if the opened Parmesan packet came from the factory or the restaurant, but it looked like a rodent had chewed through it. This should’ve been caught by whoever boxed up my pizza. Really disappointing and raises serious food safety concerns.
I have been a loyal customer at Bryan Street Tavern for over three years, even frequenting Sylvan’s before it shut down. However, tonight was an absolute disappointment. I witnessed the general manager, visibly intoxicated, engaging in a physical altercation with a customer, displaying excessive PDA in front of the entire bar, and later storming off when multiple patrons complained about his behavior. This alone was concerning, but what followed was even worse. When tabbing out, our bartender, Joe (as listed on the receipt), mischarged us for drinks. I pointed out that someone else had ordered those shots—I did partake in some, as they were offered to us, but I did not order them. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Joe immediately became defensive, claiming he had 20 years of experience in the industry and insisting that I had ordered them. When my girlfriend politely stepped in to clarify, Joe got in her face and demanded that she "shut up because you’re broke and obviously can’t pay for your drinks." This was especially absurd because the individual who actually ordered the shots had already stated he would cover them. To make matters worse, from the time we arrived at 11:30 PM until closing, Joe was taking shots behind the bar. I can’t speak to whether he had been drinking before we arrived, but he was definitely drinking throughout the entire time we were there. I understand that bartenders occasionally drink at work, as I’ve seen at multiple establishments, but to be so intoxicated that you’re creating a scene, mischarging customers, and resorting to name-calling instead of resolving an issue is completely unacceptable. When we asked to speak to the general manager, Joe claimed he was the manager, which seemed plausible since the general manager had already stormed off. However, when we persisted, we found the actual general manager passed out drunk at his desk—which we have on video. Instead of resolving the issue, Joe continued to berate and insult us, calling us "broke, low-life, ratchet," and at one point, even charging at me, saying I was "lucky [another employee] was holding him back because he would beat my a."** Again—wow. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism and outright hostility from staff at a bar I have supported for years. The fact that I have recordings of Joe disrespecting women at the bar and the general manager completely incapacitated in the back is just beyond disappointing. Since Google only allows photos, I will be adding those as well. I am extremely disappointed and sincerely hope ownership takes this matter seriously—no paying customer should ever be treated this way.
Went here a couple of times while in town for work. I always tip cash on the check even though I pay the bill by card. They added tips to the bill without consent and a line crossed through the tip line. I noticed it when I was doing my expense report. If you're not a regular, you will be scammed!
I don’t know, but this is just how I feel. I went and they had absolutely no dark liquor for me It feels like it’s specific targeted towards black customers. Only thing available was beer, vodka and tequila. Not even the option of any type of dark liquor. I talked to other customers that were there at me all agreed on the same thing. It seems they want to keep certain people out, but I don’t know that’s just my opinion.
I have visited this establishment on multiple occasions and never experienced such poor service. For starters, the bartender had airpods in both ears as soon as I approached the bar. Service was extremely poor. I came in to place a togo order and the bartender ignored me. When he finally did greet me, he was at the computer as if he was taking my order. So I went to the restroom, came back, and after over 15mins the bartender approached and asked about my order because he couldn’t find it. After reciting my order, the bartender became frustrated with me and kicked me out. He told me “well I don’t want to take your order anymore so you can just leave”. So I left. As I sat in my car, another patron attempted to get a drink and that same bartender ignored him for so long that the patron decided to leave and go to another establishment. I truly enjoy this restaurant and I love the wings. But I will not tolerate disrespect or ignorance.
I dunno what's up with this place, but I came in and waited for ages and was just ignored? Should have read the reviews first as it appears this is a common problem. Left to get food elsewhere.
Hot dumpster fire. I stopped by here when I first moved in to the neighborhood, I waited a good 15 minutes and no one showed up behind the bar so, I left. I gave them a good 2 years, said let me check this place out again, 2pm on a Sunday afternoon, waited 10 minutes behind the bar with few other people and NO ONE SHOWED UP. loll Then I went to Rodeo Cold, I got served in 45 seconds 🥲 They won’t survive the gentrification of Old East Dallas.
I had a terrible experience here and will not be returning. I was charged $15 each for two extremely weak Long Island drinks that were definitely not top-shelf quality. The bartender was rude and dismissive, and the service alone made me decide not to leave a tip. I wrote $0 clearly on the tip line, drew a line through it, and signed for a final total of $33.38. I kept my receipt. However, after the transaction settled, the bartender manually added an unauthorized $3 tip to my card without my consent. This is fraudulent and a violation of card processing rules. I have already disputed the charge with my bank and submitted my signed receipt as proof. If this happened to me over $3, it makes me wonder how many other customers don’t notice small unauthorized adjustments on their cards. Travelers and locals beware.
