Ancla is an underrated awesome place to eat. We've eating there lots of times and we've never had a bad meal, the chicken/shrimp kabobs are amazing, their hamburgers are huge and delicious. Highly recommend checking this place out!!

We have been here for breakfast and dinner. Both meals were really tasty. The margaritas are possibly the best we have had Lakeside. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and drinks and the generous serving sizes.

We ordered a Rib Eye and filet and they were both outstanding. I love mine cooked rare and it was perfect. The dessert, carrot cake and tiramisu were delicious.

A sweet little spot on the main road near Poncho's new westside lakeside store. Very cosy except that it's right next to the main road so four stars for atmosphere. Their cuisine is a Euro inspired, a welcome relief from the other fare along this part of the highway especially those large tourist traps that have those guys on the road flagging you in to park. (It goes without saying that one should always avoid restaurants wherever people are flagging you in to park). My wife likes the hamburgeisa and I like their flayed seasoned shrimp dishes that they sometimes serve with a delicious sauce.

Great service. Great food. Good prices. El Ancla is without doubt one of the best seafood restaurants in town. Dishes are always freshly prepared, to a very high standard, and service is attentive and super-welcoming. Prices, too, are fair, given the quality of what's on offer. Pro-Tip: This place can get a little busy as the evening progresses, so it pays to arrive a little on the early side and enjoy a drink or two before dinner.

WOW. Thought we had eaten at all the best places, but this place blew us away. Definitely will be returning. Good service, nice venue. Mojitos were fantastic, much better than the margaritas. Garlic toast was nice. Guacamole was very good and fresh, perfectly cooked chips, not too hard. If they had had one of those coarse pepper grinders and added some of that these would have been perfect. Mussels were very good but the white wine sauce was actually too winey, which is a crazy thing for me to complain about but it was just overpoweringly wine tasting. Seafood soup was epic, a giant meal in itself, with half a crab, shrimp, mahi, mussels, clams, carrots and zucchini in a fantastic sauce. Super messy but one of the best things I've had in years. Whole red snapper was almost as amazing, delicious vegetables and potatoes and the fish itself had such flavor. Salmon was very good too, same sides as snapper.

El Ancla has the BEST original Caesar salad in all of Ajijic that is prepared at your table. The service is friendly and quick. Their chicken in mushroom sauce is excellent, too.

Excellent steak! Ranks right up there with Tony’s Campestre as the best Lakeside. Also, the helicopter is fantastic. Service was very fast and they cooked exactly as I had requested. Can’t wait to go back tomorrow.

We ate at El Ancla for the first time last Friday. The service was good but the food was great!my husband had the mixed molcajete and we cannot day enough good things about it! It was absolutely delicious:) I had a Caesar salad and a T-bone steak. The steak was very flavorful and the sautéed veggies with it were also quite tasty. We are going back tonight for salads and to share that delicious molcajete😋

I was very happy with the service. In no time we had our food on the table. I was surprise to get chips and guacamole instead of the usual chips and salsa. I definitely recommend eating at the ancla restaurant. We were all happy and the food tasted great.

Lugar agradable solo afuera, adentro es un cúmulo de aromas por todo lo que están cocinando. Buen servicio de meseros. El baño sucio , con telarañas en ventanas y esquinas, con polvo los accesorios, evidente que le hace falta mantenimiento. Los platillos algunos muy buenos pero en general malitos.

Una buena opción para comer en La Ribera. Pero en especial las ensaladas sobre todo la César con pollo la prepara excelente. Y la crema de Ostión, está deliciosa. Y para terminar un café español que les queda delicioso.

Excelente comida y sazón, los precios algo elevados y lo que si debiera cambiar es su oferta de postres , realmente no se los recomiendo. otro punto que deben revisar es en el café que ofrecen, no lo recomiendo. La atención es muy buena y el ambiente relajado y familiar.

Tienen deliciosos platillos, pollo con champiñones, y las verduras me encanta¡ La hamburguesa parece simple pero esta muy rica la carne y la preparan ellos, es decir no es carne comercial. Y los postres...ricos¡

Bien en desayunos buenas porciones y sabor a precio justo, excelente atención.

Burger and omelette were very good, Monte Cristo was not cooked the usual way but tasty. Buffet included order of pancakes, egg of choice, chilachilles and the buffet had about 10 items including ribs and Mac and cheese. Made even better having music by Wesley, he is an incredible artist!

Many choices & reasonable prices. Salads (Caesar & Pear) among the best options. Fish is a better option here than beef. Bread is served with a tasty aioli.

El ancla tiene buenas hamburguesas, poco estacionamiento y los precios mas o menos, la comida estaba mas o menos, la sopa fria y muchas moscas, creo por la temporada, volveria por otra hamburguesa, si y porque mis amigas viven cerca. Solamente.

I ordered the California Burger, listed on the menu for $115 and regular coke. Burger and fries were good but coke was warm and flat tasting. After finishing my meal and waiting, I went inside to pay my bill. I was charged $165 for the California because he said after 12pm they switch the Burger from 150grams to 300grams. Nice surprise. I didn't make a fuss, I just won't go back there again 🤷‍♂️

My husband had a very nice salad, but my mahi mahi was old or something not quite right. I couldn't eat it. The roasted vegetables were pretty good. Too bad my dinner wasn't good.
