Clean and inviting. Large portions of authentic and delicious food. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend. Don't park in the parking lot as it's really crazy to get out of.

Came to Speisekammer on a Saturday night for the Krampus St. Nick evening. At first, they said they couldn't accommodate our party of 6 even though we had called more than once to discuss the rain and no outdoor seating (to make sure they could take us before we came from San Jose). After about 15 minutes of waiting, they figured it out and sat us in the back. It was the first time for many of us and we were sooooo pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious! Everything tasted fresh, and nothing was greasy. The portions are humongous, but they are also pricey, so don't expect a cheap meal. I was very happy to see multiple vegetarian options and enjoyed everything we ordered. The meat eaters really enjoyed it and had that look on their face when they were chewing. 😊 The potato pancakes are AMAZING! The pretzels and beer cheese are amazing! The vegetable trio is cooked perfectly and has a great flavor. The chicken schnitzel is breast meat that's crispy, moist, and not oily at all. My friend got the smoked pork shank and was in total heaven. We will absolutely be back as it was great for all! The only drawback is the noise. It's a very loud environment and makes it a scootch difficult for hearing aid wearers. The staff is very nice and all of the orders came out correctly. Yum yum...

This place was exquisite! From the outside it looks like a standard restaurant that has outdoor seating. On the inside is where the magic happens, the chef! I had the organic roasted chicken. That meal was mouth watering! The herbs and butter with the mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts were a perfect combination. I have not had food that goinmsince I was in IBravohats off to the chef, because they killed it!

Super good authentic tasting German food! Been craving food like this for months. Glad I found this restaurant. Quiet atmosphere, very nice staff (our waitress was named Nancy I think?), and the food was just so good! Did I mention the food was good? And the portion sizes were really good for what you're paying. Will definitely be returning!! Pictured is the pork schnitzel, fries with sauces, and our drinks.

We had a great little family celebration here and will definitely be back for drinks on the patio. Pros: the drinks - lots of German & domestic beers, and good non alcoholic options too. The elderberry soda was delicious. the vibes - nothing like enjoying a cold drink outside in the sun😎 indoors is also cozy and they had TVs playing the basketball games. the food - authentic & delicious! higher priced than other local German spots but the portions are really hearty (half of us took leftovers home). the staff - super helpful on the phone, and our waitress was perfectly attentive without any awkward interruptions and remembered all our orders without a notepad. She also brought out strudels with a candle for the birthdays! For dog lovers - well behaved dogs are allowed on the patio. Cons - parking can be tricky. Unsurprisingly for a German place, there are a few vegetarian options but the only vegan choices are sides (which were all delicious - red cabbage, fries, & plain pretzel - but I don’t recommend it for a full meal).

This is one great place for German food and beer. Got the family meat platter and it was delicious. That pork chop was the best I’ve ever had. The beer was perfect. Our server was very good and helpful. The staff from entering with the hostess to our server and the guy picking up our plates and boxing our food were friendly and nice. Service was fast too. My wife wanted the peach cobbler and thought she would only eat part of it and take the rest home but because it was so good she ate it all. This food is as good as eating it in Germany and the sauerkraut was perfect. Thanks for a great dining experience.

We had a three entries, Wiener schnitzel , jager schnitzel and sauerbraten. The food was really good. Our server a French guy was very friendly and helpful. Over all it was good visit.

Speisekammer has delicious food and a great selection of beer and a fun atmosphere. You feel like you're back in Germany. Would strongly recommend the weiner schnitzel with the mushroom sauce.

Been going here for awhile. The food and set are always great. Get everything on the menu. Never had a bad meal here. I like that is a place I can just hangout and watch the game with friends. My only advice is to give the dining area a refresh.

Nice local German eatery with great food selection and an even better list of beer on tap. I am not too familiar with German cuisine, but every dish was well prepared and great tasing. The Jägerschnitzel was my favorite of the evening. Our group reserved a table for Saturday evening and was placed in one of the back dining rooms with poor acoustics. The full house made noise level much too loud for normal conversations. I recommend the restaurant and look forward to coming back, but I’d try to avoid the back room on busy days in the future.

It's a local bar and restaurant with German decors and cuisine. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food looks good and delicious. Curry sauce has a kick (good way) but schnitzel was a bit dry. Full bar with good variety of beers and cocktails. Big screen good for sports watching. Good for kids, groups, meetups and couples. Staff are responsive and friendly. Plenty of space and tables. Beautiful and comfortable bar stools. Food being served at the bar too. Parking might be a bit challenging due to lack of street parking. However there is a plaza across the street where you can park and walk to the restaurant 😉

Short staffed I think. I used to work there before the new owners too. How do we get cold food? No runners. How did we not get our first order timely? No runners or kitchen staff prioritizing hot food. Who's the captain? You don't put your waitstaff out there to take the heat for you! By the way as a proud German I am appalled that they have changed the menu so much! Does the owner know that Christmas is so important to Germans? No specials? It's Christmas time where were the decorations or the festive spirit??

Unfortunately this place has lost its shine. We used to come here, but I think the owners must have retired and left this place with second or third generation. They have decent German food, but certainly not great. The beer on tap was way too warm, even for European beer. Their tap system has problems. Not impressed. There are better options in San Francisco.

My first time here, someone we know had been here last week and recommended it to us. We decided to try it out for lunch on a Sunday. I read a few of the reviews and took some of the recommendations for the food. The Pork Shank Entree was pretty darn good! The Salad a good size for 2 to share. I liked the small German Salad Combo too. Fries not so much, cold and too salty. Not much for any Vegan to choose from though limited vegetarian items are on the menu. After all, this is a meat and potatoes place! The outside patio was just the right place for a casual Sunday Lunch. It was comfortable on a sunny afternoon with plenty of shade. Beware of some of the benches before sitting down! You can end up on the ground if you sit on the end that extends beyond the supports!
