I don’t know which is better the atmosphere or the wings? I will say both. Friendliest bartenders I have met in awhile. Everyone gets a hello within seconds of entering. Old school corner bar with fantastic food. Taste and personality for miles. Original Buffalo style wings. Your lips will burn just enough. Great specials, reasonable prices. Could stay here for hours.

During our recent overnight getaway to Albany, my wife and I chose to dine at Across the Street Pub, largely influenced by its prime location and rave reviews. To our delight, it turned out to be the highlight dining experience of 2023 for us. We settled into their charming outdoor porch and kicked off our evening with refreshing drinks—my wife's margarita was impeccable, and my Long Island iced tea was expertly balanced. For starters, we indulged in their fried mushrooms which were generously portioned and perfectly complemented by a tangy tiger sauce. The mushrooms had a fresh, juicy bite, devoid of the typical watered-down taste often found in frozen varieties. My wife relished her turkey wrap and accompanying macaroni salad, while I was thoroughly impressed by the Melt Burger—flawlessly toasted bread, topped with sautéed onions and a perfectly grilled burger. However, the unexpected star of my meal was the chili. Often, I find myself craving a tad more spice in chili, but this one was an exception. Bursting with flavors and augmented with a garnish of onions and jalapeños, it was undoubtedly the best chili I've tasted. In a nutshell, our dining experience was enhanced by exemplary service. What we initially thought would be a fleeting visit to Albany has now turned into a compelling reason for a return trip, primarily to revisit this culinary gem.

I recently moved into this neighborhood. This is a university neighborhood of the city of Albany/Guilderland where you have the great SUNY Albany. As I began to scout for good restaurants and good places, one of my neighbors told me about Across The Street (I initially thought he was saying that I would get good restaurants “across my street “😅😃😅), until I ran into the restaurant with the name. I interviewed ten people. None said anything bad about this place. I thought it was a kind of “set-up”. So, I went inside! I was so drawn by the effervescence and gregarious customer friendliness of the Attendant (Les). Her services were awesomely wonderful. And it didn’t cost me much. Less than $12 to get quality services. Across The Street Pub makes my neighborhood look great and I am proud to put them on the map. Are you visiting Albany soon? Great place to eat. It has a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. I highly recommend the tortilla chips.

Typical pub, typical food and drinks. Nothing to write home about BUT the service was great! The waitress and bartender were really sweet and efficient. The food was tasty albeit basic.

Bartender was outstanding - polite, fast, followed up, friendly, and made great suggestions! Food was great - homemade chili with onions and cheese added, house salad with Cajun chicken added. Dive bar scene with a good group of locals (assuming since the Bartender allied them by their first names and knew their drink orders before they sat down).

My wife and 10 year old said they really liked what they ordered, (Pizza and wings) I however, ordered a bacon cheeseburger (cooked medium) and fries. Unfortunately, I got a well done burger, chared with no seasoning and no Bacon. My fries had no seasoning either. Overall, the atmosphere and service from the waitress were both good, but disappointed with my food.

Stopped in tonight a few minutes after my group to get a burger and a drink. My group received their meals promptly and the wait staff was friendly and checked in often. However it took a while for me to be able to take my order, and after placing it, took about 45 mins to receive it. The waitress was very apologetic for the wait and explained the short staffing, and that my order was prepared after a large group. I appreciate the honesty and this poor review has nothing to do about the wait staff. However, after waiting almost an hour for a burger, it was burned, dried out and I could tell it had been sitting for awhile. I was just so disappointed at the end of the night to spend $27 on a let down.
