A fantastic brunch menu. The quality of food is great. You just walk in and find an open table. Use the QR code to order on your phone. The bill can be grouped or separate and is also paid through the phone.
Stopped into The Scene on a rough afternoon in need of caffeine. The coffee was excellent, and the almond croissant Savannah recommended was unbelievably good. But it was Savannah and Ally who really made my day. They were warm, attentive, and great at what they do. Their kindness lifted my spirits, and I’ll definitely be back!
Loved this new food and drink spot in my hometown ~ a cool NYC, LA vibe ~ drinks and food were great~ hoping to visit again when we travel back to the Albany area ~ I would love to see some small plate specials that are seasonal for the area as this beautiful place grows Congrats to the owner whose creativity has created a space where all feel welcome 🩷
So far I've been once, it is a good atmosphere and the service was solid. The food tasted great I'm not taking off a star for this but I got a sandwich and it came with arugula "salad" slapped on a plate (I am hesitant to call it that because it was just arugula and diced tomatoes) with no dressing or other mixed greens to cut into the pepperiness of the arugula. I would either make more of an effort with the salad or not include it at all.
Great food, customer service and drinks! Everyone is always so sweet and I love attending their events
Love this bright, cheery place. Food and drinks are always good. Great to sit and savour a bit of cafè-culture or grab and go a coffee and pastry. Wonderful menu selection and fun seasonal specials are always offered. Very clean and chic. There is plenty of outdoor seating with firepits and heaters. They've expanded parking to neighboring lot so that's no longer an issue. Great spot!
A wonderful social hub close to the SUNY Albany campus, this spot excels as a gathering place. While the food may not be its strong suit, the drinks are outstanding. The convenience of self-seating and ordering via QR codes on the tables enhances the experience, allowing you to seamlessly place your order from your seat. Additionally, the ability to pay through a link sent directly to your device streamlines the process, eliminating the wait for the check and letting you leave promptly when you’re ready. This venue is perfect for casual meetups, networking sessions, or even a quick first-date chat. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Favorite Item on the Menu: Chai Tea ------------------------------------------------------------------- Their chai tea stands out as one of my favorites, surpassing the usual vanilla chai I get at Starbucks in both taste and price. It’s simply delightful in every way.
The Scene was an absolute amazing experience! The Turkey and cheese panini, French toast latte, and Caramel macchiato were delicious! Everything was just the right amount of portions. The staff were friendly, attentive, and checked on us to see if we were enjoying our meals. The wait to get served wasn’t long either. The aesthetic and music was a 10/10. This is a great place to relax with your girlfriends or family that the capital region needed. I will definitely be back for more🥂
When I walked in, Michelle was so nice and welcoming. She really set the bar high for my first time visiting The Scene. I am definitely planning on going back and looking forward to seeing her. She’s the best! The food was also great, I would 100% recommend the nutella banana stuffed waffles and the açaí bowl.
I recently went to The Scene and got the new salad. It was very delicious and came out in a timely manner. We had a lot of interaction with many different employees, but Lia was our favorite. She was very willing to grab some extra dressing & an extra fork right away for me. She was very pleasant!
I was looking for a quick brunch spot after my meeting today and came across this spot! Besides a few stares from the white folks, and being racially profiled by a customer and the staff did absolutely nothing a it since I am a brownie. I got accused by a customer for not paying for my food when it turned out to be the table next to us with two elderly white women. I guess the cashier must’ve said “they didn’t pay for their food so I can’t make another transaction.” And he assumed it was us. I understand mistakes happen however he was so rude and rough speaking to us. However the food was amazing! I am so happy they were able to accommodate to my vegetarian requests! I wasn’t very hopeful, however when they said they can make the fruit board and charcuterie board without meat, I was super happy! Besides that, there are other vegetarian options available. There aren’t many good food spots in the upstate area, and being from the city we are spoiled with good tasty food…so I definitely will be back. Our server was Sarah and she was wonderful! Super sweet and attentive! We were greeted by Corey who was so wonderful, pleasant, super attentive, and very helpful! He noticed we weren’t from the area, and explained everything to us as soon as we walked in. I can’t wait to go again! Please forgive me if I spelled the names wrong.
I’m traveling from Charleston, SC and couldn’t wait to try this place! The atmosphere is modern, chic, and clean. Customer service was wonderful as well. I had the West Coast breakfast sandwich and the Carmel Mach latte with almond milk! They were perfection!! The only issue was I am traveling with a small purse dog and she wasn’t allowed in the restaurant or the patio. They did let us stay on the patio since we had already ordered. So warning…don’t bring your dog.
Had brunch with my girlies here. I like the vibe of it all. I like that we can order online from the table. The french toast could be more of a golden brown crust, with a soft and slightly custard-like center. It was dry IMO. Also the waffles. I did like my salmon salad. The coffees are also good.
Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Atmosphere: 20/20 This is an aesthetically pleasing restaurant for sure! The ambiance is terrific! You can sit wherever there's an empty table or at the small bar off to your right; the outdoor swings are super cute alongside their patio area. You can order with an associate or order via the tables QR code. I ordered the french toast, as it's a breakfast staple for me. I love matcha, so I ordered a strawberry matcha beverage and the butterfly pea matcha beverage. I recommend visiting this place, its a Ritas Rannts Recommendation, Go check them out! & follow me for more reviews!
The perfect combo of practical and special! Grabbed brunch with another mom friend and our littles here on a weekday. Wasn't overcrowded and the seating is nicely spaced even when it is full. The food was amazing. The drinks were amazing. Nice seasonal menu as well. Prices are very reasonable.
Good! The vibes are very instagram-worthy if you’re into that kind of thing. More importantly, the food and coffee are both very good. I liked the grilled chicken pesto panini and the nitro cold brew. Another person in my party (my mom duh) got the salmon salad which is beautiful and also a cool mix of flavors. Wouldn’t recommend doing the balsamic glaze with this salad though, it’s a bit too heavy. I’d like to come back here for boozy brunch for sure.
This is such a unique and aesthetic restaurant in the Albany area that is so gorgeously decorated. The food and drinks are incredible every time that I’ve been there. This time we got some pastries, oatmeal, iced strawberry matcha and a lemonde. Each item was delicious especially the iced strawberry matcha. The service is amazing too, even if there is a bit of a wait on the weekends (30-40mins) but def worth it. Will continue to come back here
I really liked this place. I didn't try any food, but we stopped there for a quick cocktail. My wife had the lavender cocktail and she really liked it (not my thing, but she said if you like lavender, this is the drink. I had a bourbon drink that was pretty stinking awesome too. Staff was friendly and helpful, the place had a nice atmosphere, and the drinks were great. I would definitely go back here
Hannah, the bartender, is very attentive and makes excellent cocktails! Corey, the manager, is multitasking as people walk in. He takes orders, arranges seating, delivers drinks, cleans tables, facilitates food and drink delivery to tables, and manages staff!!! Watching him is exhausting, but it’s what makes this place special. Excellent customer service and a great place to meet friends! This place will not disappoint!
It was my friend and I’s first time here and it was absolutely fantastic. We were a bit confused walking in a first, but someone greeted us shortly and explained the ordering process, she was extremely helpful! Everyone there was extremely nice and helpful, that being said. The food and coffee were delicious! Highly recommend! Can’t wait to come again soon!
I live in California, but whenever I come back home to upstate New York, it is a priority for me to dine in as often as I can at The Scene. Everything from the atmosphere, to the quality of the food and beverages... is simply top notch! Roman in particular stands out - he is always attentive, friendly, and makes one hell of a latte! 🤍 The attached photos are from different visits, including mostly seasonally-limited items.
This was my first time here for a birthday breakfast… Love the atmosphere when you walk in, was greeted, the workers were present, quick and nice. Food was amazing. My latte was so good! I loved the bacon egg and cheese! We also got the almond croissant which isn’t pictured but it was delicious as well! We will be back again.
I loved everything about this place, not a single detail was missed! The Scene is one of the most stunning coffee shop/bars I’ve seen in our area without a doubt, so chic and timeless which is exactly the kind of place the capital region needed. Me and my parents all ordered different kinds of coffee and they were all delicious, I used to work at a coffee shop and I personally know how hard it can be to make a genuinely good latte/coffee, etc and it was spot on. The food was great, and the service was even better! Every staff member we encountered greeted us with a smile and were SO friendly. I cant wait to come back over and over again!
The energy of this place is electric! There's a definite Buzz to The Scene. Saturday morning, 11:45, and this place was Kickin'! The 45 minute wait time didn't deter us (and it turned out to be less), nor did the fact that we had no choice but to do so in our car in the expanded parking lot. After checking in with the hostess, everything was phone-based. The live updated wait time was a phone-glance away. Once inside and directed to a table, the future was now. A table QR scan allowed us to log in, choose from the menu, and place our order. Unbelievably fast service was expedited with our beverages delivered within 2 minutes of our order, and our food arriving 8 minutes later (reminder, this is at max capacity!) The food was, well see for yourself, ridiculously appealing and equally delicious. The maple sriracha dressing with the Breakfast Bowl was delightfully zippy. The waffle was So Good too! I'm not inclined toward sweet foods for breakfast but after accepting an offer to taste it, I nearly created My Own Scene -- refusing to relinquish it to its rightful patron. My visit to The Scene was a special moment in my life! THAT's how good it was for me.
The menu offers a fantastic selection of fun innovative brunch dishes. I opted for the Nutella French toast which was a perfect blend of flavors and exactly what I was looking for to please my sweet tooth! The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was top-notch. The Scene is a must visit for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxed, delicious brunch. I can’t wait to return and try more of their fun meals!
HANNAH was absolutely amazing 🤩!!!!!! 10/10 she made our experience absolutely outstanding. I was a little hesitant when I first walked in because the staff at the main counter was very unhelpful as it was our first time here since you just opened. We got lucky and found a seat at the bar and Hannah took amazing care of us answering all our questions and making amazing drinks. The food was fantastic and the drinks were delicious. I was really sad to find out we couldn’t tip her in cash as she did all the work. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and made amazing cocktails! I definitely recommend coming to see Hannah for all your drinks I will definitely be back whenever she’s here! And quite honestly, Hannah deserves a raise!
My bestie and I stopped in today to grab a quick coffee and some breakfast. IT WAS OUTSTANDING!!! We both got iced sugar free vanilla lattes which were some of the best we've ever had. My friend got the breakfast bowl and she thinks it's the best thing she's ever tasted. I ordered the avocado toast after being extremely indecisive because the whole menu looks SO GOOD and it did not disappoint. The bartender was so sweet and all of the staff working made our experience amazing.
We had fun at this new place. Annoyingly there is no way to either make a reservation or to get in a virtual line (the latter of which I recommended to them as other cafe style places succeed with this strategy to reduce annoying hovering and fighting for tables). But once we were lucky enough to get a spot at the bar (which makes it impossible to talk 4 people all together) we were nicely taken care of by bartender Zach! Food was all to our liking (including gf bread) and the coffee drinks were good (we were surprised by the fact the shaken espresso came sweetened bc it didn't mention that). The bubbly vending machine was a fun touch!
Such a great place to brunch!! Beautiful ambiance, decor, and most importantly, the food was DELICIOUS! The Veggie Eggs were seasoned so well, Nutella French Toast was amazing. The lattes were beautiful and tasty. The chocolate crossaint is to die for. The service was speedy- place was super clean. Beautiful to look at- you will want to take a pic of everything! Highly recommend.
Beautiful restaurant with even better food! I ordered a BEC on a bagel with turkey bacon, and tiramisu french toast, as well as a specialty iced caramel latte (forgot to take a picture of the last one!). I grabbed some photos of my group's food as well. Food came out quickly. Excellent service from the wait staff. Highly recommend!!
Wow!! What a fun place! Atmosphere was electric! Decor gave a cool vibe. Bloody Mary was perfect, maybe a few more olives! 😀 My party of 5 all had amazing food and drinks! I had the tarimasu French toast.....dessert for breakfast.....life cant get much better than that! Others at the table had 2 soups and sandwiches which they loved and 2 breakfast bowls...rave reviews all around! And they are happy to accommodate gluten free! A champagne vending machine! YES, you read that right. Just sooo fun! Who doesn't need a bit more fun in their day?! Seriously, if you want a great place to go for some serious girls breakfast- brunch date, you must get over to The Scene! You will not be disappointed!!!
The Scene has absolutely amazing food. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I especially love their matcha latte and it’s one of my favorites and always made perfectly. Their brunch menu has so many great options, with generous portions that are fairly priced. There’s truly something for everyone, whether you’re stopping in casually or planning something special. I highly recommend The Scene for brunch, catering, or any event, they consistently deliver a great experience.
Sophie and Benny were great hosts on a smooth early lunch hour. The space is very welcoming fitted with tons of seating indoor / outdoor (outdoor is also heated). They have catering services for every type of event & a unique vending machine selling champagne bottles. I highly recommend for a bridal party / shower, morning date or simple ‘me’ day morning. The weekend are very busy make your first visit a weekday. Thank you to the staff!
This place is amazing and trendy! I’m all for the new wave of ordering through QR codes! It eliminates the stress and pressure of ordering fast, and if you want something later, order it then! :) The atmosphere here is so cute and so vibrant! You can tell this is one of those fun and modern eateries! Their drinks are to die for and the food is up to date on all the trends while also being very unique and yummy! I love coming up here regularly!
A sleek yet cozy spot for some of the best breakfast food I’ve had in the area. Their pastry board includes a medley of sweets like mini waffles, coconut banana bread, strawberry danishes, and a blueberry streusel muffin. The fresh berries and crispy, almost diner-style bacon is a plus! The seasonal menu is a delight and the Tiramisu French toast was SO tasty. It’s self-service style with a QR code to order, but it makes customization all the easier in my opinion. Will definitely be back!
Have you ever been undecided about what to have for brunch? You want a bunch of things, but don't want to be too stuffed? You like trying different things? Well, here's your solution! The "Brunch Board"! Pastries, waffles, fruit, and bacon served on a board to share! And everything was delicious. The coffee was great - they offer a dark roast in addition to regular and the lattes got raves also. The space is cool and contemporary. Ordering is via on line (qr code at table) so you can keep adding as you eat/drink. Glad we found this place!
Such a fun and cute stop in Albany! We were driving through and found this gem. I had a cappuccino and the coffee was great- I really enjoyed the outdoor seating and swings out front. The decor, colors, and helpful staff make for a great atmosphere to hang out and talk for a while, work remote, or just stop in and grab a coffee/drink or pastry!
We recently had the opportunity of hosting a bridal shower at The Scene and it was everything we could have hoped for and more! From the very beginning, Kevin was such a pleasure to work with — kind, attentive, and so thoughtful with every detail. He made the planning process stress-free and on the day of the event, he and his team went ABOVE and beyond to make sure everything flowed perfectly. The food was fresh, the drinks were a hit, and the atmosphere of the venue was just beautiful — it fit our “Love is Brewing” theme like it was made for it. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the space and the service. We left feeling so grateful for Kevin and his staff, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Cute place. The lavender latte was amazing! They close at 4pm even though there were people still coming in at 3:58 and a full restaurant. The Prosecco vending machine is adorable and a lot of great selfie spots. With some tweaks on menu and hours and customer service it could be a 5 star.
New coffee & brunch in Albany. Aesthetically pleasing. Lots of photo opps. First come first serve indoor & outdoor seating. QR code enabled menu. Also have the option to walk directly to coffee bar to order. Staff was friendly & service was pretty fast. Tiramisu martini was good, 7.5/10. Strawberry Margarita 8.5/10. Small brunch board was tasty. Pastries were soft and bacon was crispy, 8/10. Mini waffles were a bit hard, 5.5/10. My partner got the cheesecake waffle but was underwhelmed, 6/10. SN: I dined inside. The tables are rather close together & took a few “excuse me’s” to maneuver around. If you are in need of more/different access (wheelchair, etc) calling ahead to inquire about accommodations might be you’re best bet. I would definitely come back!
This is a really chic cafe! You can tell a lot of thought went into the details. We shared the matcha lemonade, matcha latte, aperol Paloma, Caesar wrap and Turkey pesto panini. The only thing I’d say is this place didn’t feel baby friendly. While leaving, the manager (?) and a customer were right in front of the exit and didn’t move over while we were going to the car with our 2 infants. They didn’t have to of course it was just awkward. She also asked if we were going to use the high chairs while we were sitting waiting for our food to arrive. I’ll chalk it up to getting into the rhythm of this new space. I would revisit for the drinks especially
It's a really trendy place. Looks like it popped out of Instagram and landed in Albany. The food was really good. Big fancy stuffed pancakes, avocado toast, flatbreads, and charcuterie boards. They have specialty match and espresso drinks that were very well made. However, be prepared to wait. We went at 2pm and had to kill 40 mins while we waited for a table. It's also not cheap. Service is good and place was clean. I'd recommend.
The atmosphere is really nice! Is very clean and pretty! The staff are nice and friendly! The specialty drinks are very tasteful! I got Honey Lavender Latte Iced with Almond milk and my daughter got Ice Blue Butterfly Matcha with Oat milk both very tasteful!! For food we got The West Coast ( scrambled eggs, cheese, arugula, avocado and tomato on sourdough bread) and my daughter got The Scenewich (fried egg, brie, prosciutto, caramelized onion, honey mustard and arugula on a croissant) Presentation made the food looks like it was delicious! It tasted good however lack of flavor ☹️ Overall just the specialty drinks and atmosphere makes it a great hangout!
The Scene is already an extremely busy business that has taken off. Not sure if they underestimated the business flow but they do not have the parking to support how busy they are. This is definitely going to be a premier coffee shop in the area. The service was fast and friendly. My iced cinnamon french toast latte had great espresso flavor and strength but I think the barista forgot to add the rest of the flavor syrups because it tasted like a regular latte. It was still a great latte and will definitely go back.
Absolutely first-rate food and beverages. The Scene relies a lot on digital self service, which works, but lacks a human touch. The atmosphere is hip, but no one really greets you or says thanks for coming when you pay your tab on the phone, get up and leave. Call me old fashioned, but I still think a greeter is a good idea at any eatery, especially considering how incredibly popular and successful The Scene has been since they opened. Overall, outstanding, and a real addition to the neighborhood!
One of my top three coffee shops in Albany NY. Delicious food with a rotating seasonal food and drink menu. There is a variety of simple syrup flavors for the drinks and pastries. The Chai, London Fog, and Cinnamon French Toast Latte are my favorites. The apple and brie flatbread used to be my favorite; hopefully they bring it back! The sandwiches like the scenewich, oatmeal, fresh fruit, and the brunch board is declious. The service is good. The atmosphere is moderate depending on the day. It is trendy and reminds me of a coffee shop I would find in the city. I have ordered take out and catering through them for work as well. They are easy to work with for catering orders. Highly recommend.
🌞 Brunching in Style at The Scene 🍳✨ If you're looking for a picture-perfect morning escape, The Scene delivers big on aesthetic and ambiance. From the moment you walk in, the decor and vibe are pure Instagram gold — bright, stylish, and full of energy. 📸🌟 Ordering is done via QR code, which is convenient, though we did miss that warm, personal welcome or a quick intro to the menu from staff — a small touch that could elevate the guest experience. 🍽️ Food-wise, there’s a lot to love, especially the Mimosa Flight — beautifully presented with fresh fruit garnishes and a variety of flavors that hit all the right notes. 🥂🍓 Our friends raved about their pre-set breakfast sandwiches (and we agreed — they were delicious!). I opted to build my own breakfast with sausage, fried egg, homestyle potatoes, and a croissant — all à la carte. While tasty, it came to $20 before tax, which felt a bit steep for a basic breakfast combo. A classic breakfast plate option at a more accessible price point would be a welcome addition. ⏳ Service was relaxed — perhaps a bit too relaxed. It took nearly an hour before someone offered a to-go box. While we appreciated not being rushed, a check-in sooner might’ve helped us transition more smoothly to our next plans. All in all, The Scene is a vibrant new brunch spot with tons of potential. We’re excited to see how it continues to grow and connect with the community. 🤩
Really enjoyed the food and drinks here! This place is vibey and a perfect place to grab brunch with the girls or go on a cute date. I had the iced strawberry matcha and it was great — even my boyfriend who does not like matcha liked it. The breakfast sandwiches were excellent. This is a seat yourself and order on a QR code kind of place so there is not much service and even when service people do come by they barely speak to you. They did not come around and offer water or anything so just be aware of that. They also did not ask if we needed napkins or other accommodations — we shared a waffle (which arrived first) and only left us with one set of utensils and walked away before we could ask for another. Minor, but fixable things. Overall though, I enjoyed my experience and I would return.
The place is very nice. You seat yourself and order by QR code. I like restaurant interaction and this is definitely not that. Only time you speak with someone is when food is brought out. Definitely upscale. The food was good. I had a bacon, egg and cheese on a ciabatta roll and my wife has oatmeal. I had hot chocolate and she went for a coffee. Eggs were light and fluffy, bacon very good.
Food and drinks were good but not worth waiting over an hour for. We had four people in our party and all of our food came out at different times, after waiting over an hour for it to even come out. Atmosphere was ok, clean and pretty but I found the music to be a bit too loud and therefore the chatter was also loud. Not a place I would offer to go again to.
Cool atmosphere. You seat yourself, I didn’t realize you order off a QR code and pay directly online. Kinda pricey. Someone brings you the food and any specialty drinks ordered, but you get your own water. The food and drinks were delicious, but this didn’t feel like a true restaurant experience to me.
The food is good. The overflow parking is a nightmare. They need to have lined parking. I sat in my car for 30 minutes until one of the cars parallel to me (the space where cars can pull out) left because I couldn’t leave without hitting a car no matter how I maneuvered my car.
Cool atmosphere but very disappointed with how long the wait time was to be seated AND receive coffee and easy orders like a salad and lox toast. We had to go up twice to ask about our coffees that were sitting on the counter making them cold when we got them. Again, friendly staff but really need to get organized to get customers their orders faster. We were also asked by waitress to leave after an 1.5 which was almost laughable when we waited so long to get food. We would have left sooner if we could.
The environment of the cafe is so fresh & nice decorating and the staff are friendly! But the quality of food, desserts, drinks are low! I ordered the Kale Caesar Salad, the amount of dressing and ingredients were not balanced and made it too greasy and salty due to the amount of grated cheese in it. The texture of the waffle was very dry and hard! As a drink I ordered tiramisu martini that was, in my opinion, without any alcohol and forgot to add whipped cream topping!
First and foremost the food is of good quality. The drinks, ect. However I am unsure of what this place is. A much more high-scale Panera? Being used to upscale coffee shops in the Hudson valley, Westchester and NYC, I was a bit confused by the business model. I suppose it’s more efficient to order for yourself from a QR code, but this place is not really the “scene” to me. The interior reminds me of Home Goods.
I’ve been here 3 times but only managed to eat here once😂 It’s always so crowded even when I come on a weekday afternoon. The food was very tasty and staff was super nice! But there are few tables so it gets crowded very quickly wirh hour long wait times. I think a max. seating time would be helpful, even if it’s a couple of hours bc there are clearly people who come in and have cocktails for hours.
Although the food is a bit expensive, it’s very tasty and it’s clear they use quality ingredients. The problem is the atmosphere — you can sense a hostile vibe from some of the waiters, and it seems like when you ask them for help, they get stressed and respond poorly. I think it’s because sometimes there are too few of them for the number of people there. Although this isn’t the restaurant’s fault, another issue is the type of people who come to this place. They create a hostile environment — pretentious people whose stares I could feel, maybe because I’m not from here. I think my presence made them a bit uncomfortable too, maybe because I had kids with me. I’ll never know, but this combination makes you feel insecure instead of welcomed, and it keeps you from enjoying the good food they serve.
Firstly - I am not a part of the targeted audience for "The Scene." That being said, I must say that the food tasted very good. I had a breakfast sandwich, a raspberry bear claw, and a French toast latte. The sandwich tasted fantastic, but as you can see in the photo, had next to no structural integrity. This establishment does not strike me as one to bear in mind how someone eats a bagel sandwich. The bear claw, while I thought it was overpriced, turned out to have an amazing, airy texture with vibrant flavor. It turns out that I paid for quality, not quantity on that front. The French toast latte was quite good, and wasn't too sweet. The flavor was quite rich, but not overpowering. The atmosphere wasn't to my liking. Again, I want to stress that I'm most likely not apart of the targeted audience. The music was primarily this new-age synthy pop. The interior and decor were very bright. Seeing the cocktail menu and champagne vending machine makes me think that The Scene is geared towards day-drinkers. Based on the meals and atmosphere, I would recommend this restaurant if you want to post food pictures to your Instagram page. The coffee and pastries would be the only reasons I would return.
Gorgeous ambiance, great food & comfortable seating yet rather tight & seated in an awkwardly seated designed. Quite noisy & extremely congested with a “Port Authority” vibe. Dining in customers & to-go customers are all merged together. For the price, the service & seating should be more upscale. The food was great yet the Mimosa was a disappointment being served with flat champagne & hard orange juice. Perhaps that’s how they serve their mimosas 🤷🏻♀️
3.5 While something holds back a 4 star, I encourage coffee and boutique lovers to try this place out. I had a latte, which was good. I love the little outdoor seating with suspension benches. The location is the knock. It's very challenging to get in or out of depending on traffic and it's so loud outside, it's hard to have conversation, but there's plenty inside and that should not stop you from trying it out. I'd go again.
Stopped in for brunch with my two daughters. The restaurant was busy but the wait was less than 30 minutes. The stuffed waffle was good, as was the iced chai tea. My daughters enjoyed their espresso martini, chicken sandwich, strawberry matcha, and stuffed french toast. I didn't particularly care for the QR code/ ordering at the table and not being able to speak with a waiter/waitress directly-as this was my first time here and I was not told when seated to order myself and pay with my phone. I was also unaware that this establishment was cashless. I would have liked for that to be posted somewhere.
I recently visited The Scene and had a mixed experience. Upon arrival, I noticed a temporary tent with tables for larger parties. Inside, I was greeted and informed that I could purchase at the counter and wait or via the QR code at the table. The indoor seating primarily consists of tables for two, with a few four-seaters. Outside, there are two setups on both sides of the door for parties of four. I chose to sit on a swing, taking up a full area. I ordered a coffee, which arrived within seven minutes and was quite tasty. I finished it quickly and ordered a peach tea, which also arrived in about seven minutes. However, the wait for my salmon and cream cheese open-face sandwich was notably long. It took approximately 30 minutes, as indicated by the automated text from my original order and the timestamp on my picture. A notable downside was the lack of visible wait staff after the initial delivery of my order. As other customers have mentioned, the staff delivers your purchase but is hard to find if you need additional items like napkins. Additionally, if you order a mimosa, the glass, and fruit juice are brought to you, but you must go inside to use a champagne vending machine, which is inconvenient if you are alone and don’t want to leave your items unattended. While the vibe of the café was cool, the overall service left much to be desired, especially considering the price. It might be a place my more indulgent sister would enjoy, but I can't say I've found a new go-to spot.
My food and the atmosphere was great, but service is definitely where things fell short for me. Everything was great, until the end. I received a bill where I was automatically charged gratuity. I brought this up to who I presume was the manager, and with a nasty attitude she said “It’s automatic.” When I questioned where on their menu it stated that, she changed the story and said she would fix it, also in a nasty tone. She then left and proceeded to walk past our table 2x with no update, to the point where I had to ask the girl clearing off our table for an update. She finally returns and passively aggressively says “It’s done,” while basically walking away in the same instance. The whole interaction from beginning to end just felt odd. The sad part is that she lied about the payment being fixed, as the original amount I complained about was charged to my bank. In that moment, I still left a cash tip (my personal preference for outings) because I believed the issue would be resolved at the final charge. My mistake. I’d just advise everyone to make sure you’re truly being billed for the service you’re receiving, especially from a place like this when, if you sit outside, you have to scan a QR code to order your own food. You won’t get a personal waiter, which is why I’m still confused as to why there would be “automatic gratuity.” I was also with a few other girls and they were not automatically billed gratuity. Lying about fixing a billing mistake, while also using a passive aggressive attitude/approach toward paying customers is never acceptable. I’m choosing to leave this review because I truly hope the service portion improves. Leaving paying customers feeling uncomfortable is never acceptable.
I saw this pop up when looking for brunch places near by and decided to go with my boyfriend and his mother for his graduation. When walking in there is a sign that says seat your self and order through phones which wasn’t an issue. This being said when we sat we were told we had to check in with the hostess and that we couldn’t sit. Whatever but it’s odd they have the sign up. The menu was extensive and nicely diverse and the cost for me seemed fine (grew up in new paltz area) especially for the environment. When ordering food we order salmon salad, egg sandwich, a yogurt parfait, potatoes, a cheese danish and a pesto chicken sandwich. It took about 20 minutes for the egg sandwich the parfait and side of potatoes. The salad came out 40 minutes and the sandwich and danish were no where to be found after an hour of waiting. My party was done eating by then. I understand waiting for food but for one person to get their whole meal before everyone quickly and another wait for over an hour is insane. It’s more serve yourself because the waiters won’t check up on you at all. Food was just okay. The egg sandwich and potatoes were the best part. Chicken was pretty plain.
Disappointed. We have been wanting to try for sometime. For my daughter’s birthday we decided to go. Inside is just as beautiful as outside. Not a fan of the QR code ordering and paying. Definitely like interaction with staff so that was disappointing. Food came out at all different times, 6oz lemonade filed with ice $3.50, total for (4) people was $120. I understand the cost of doing business but pricing is excessively high. EXTREMELY overpriced, food was OK at best, not a place I will ever go back to. Left feeling disappointed and robbed quite frankly.
I’ve stopped by the scene a few times to grab a quick iced coffee, not a latte. I’ve been really disappointed that nearly every time I’ve ordered, the staff does not follow instructions or adhere to the order. For example, I’ve received iced coffees where nearly half the drink is creamer, when I’ve asked specifically asked for a light splash of cream. Knowing that this has been a problem in the past, I’ve tried stating my order a few times at the register, but this hasn’t helped. It’s a bummer the service is lacking because the food and coffee are good.
I visited The Scene and unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The place looks nice and the drinks were good, but that's where the positives end. The food was just okay and definitely overpriced for what you get — and I mean seriously overpriced. The service was a major letdown. It’s one of those places where you scan a QR code to order at the table, and while that might seem modern, it really takes away from the dining experience. Even worse, my drink arrived after my food — I was halfway through my meal before I got it. That's just not acceptable. To top it off, my ham and swiss croissant was undercooked and tasted off. The staff didn’t seem particularly attentive or helpful either. Overall, this place is all style, no substance. I don’t recommend it and won’t be going back. Two star just because of the atmosphere. Overpriced, overpriced, overpriced.
This one is tough... The food was good had the breakfast plate.... The issue I have here service. First timer walking in here i am quickly greeted which was a good start untill we asked if we can sit in the "outside room" the lady proceeds to tell us the two options inside... Figure she misunderstood the request so i said is the outside section available she goes yes and proceeds to tell me we can sit at one of 2 options inside...so i go to clarify and say so we can not sit outside. She goes oh yea u can sit anywhere you want out there pick something.. Ok we are lil off put by her attitude but we proceed to the "outside seating" would of been nice to get a bit more direction on how to order or even guided to our seat. (there was about 5 tables empty when we arrived) Anywho we sit down at a table...few mins go by no one greets us at the table. So i notice a qr code for menus and proceed to their menu on my phone.. Its not the easiest menu to navigate. Also requires alloooot of info from the customer before allowed to place an order. Mind you i did not plan to be on my phone learning on my own how to place an order. Would rather spend the time with my guests. I try to wave down a server (very few servers) to ask about my food allergy since i didn't see a place to mention it on my order. If you have a food allergy I would be cautious since its all tech entry and servers didnt seem to care much. No one to ask for glasses of water... When my husband went to the counter to check on his drink that still hadnt shown up 10 mins after ordering the lady behind the counter said she was super busy and couldnt even see what he needed or to listen to the fact we were trying to track down someone for service. Eventually we got our food n drinks immediately after i tracked down a server to talk too. Its not really my kind of place. Maybe im Old school but i appreciate traditional customer service for ordering. Its kinda to bad the place does look nice, and the food we got was good. But just to uncomfortable for me i just felt ignored. My guest also felt the same way.
We were eager to try out this place, since it's always nice to get new, good, and fun establishments in our area. But we were sadly disappointed here. I'll start at the beginning. After being seated, we were informed that we could order via a QR code glued to the table or go up to the counter. Does the management not realize that this is how I order food at McDonald's?! If I go to what appears to be "a nice restaurant", I'd like someone to give me the service that their prices imply should be provided. Hand me a menu, bring me a drink, take my order, and then bring my food when it's ready. During the online ordering process, we learned that cash was not accepted and we had to put in the tip amount before we ever got service. The tip is supposed to represent our appreciation for a service, so I shouldn't have to pay it before any service was provided. And the default tip options started at 18%. We were afraid that if we didn't tip or tip well, our food quality or delivery would be negatively impacted. After 10-15 minutes, when someone brought our food, we asked for some water. They pointed across the restaurant to the opposite corner to a "self-serve water station". So, now we had to get up and get our own water. Again, this is more like my experience at McDonald's than restaurant-level service, only this was worse. Not only was there no ice (so the water was lukewarm), the cups were super small, so we had to make the trip across the restaurant three times during our meal. The food was pretty okay. We really enjoyed the apple & brie flatbread. And the 2/3 of the pesto chicken panini that actually had chicken was okay. But the chicken was basically flavorless (thankfully, the pesto helped), and 1/3 of the sandwich was just bread and pesto. I would have liked to have some salt or any other condiment or sauce to add some flavor to the chicken, but there was nothing on the table. And other than our initial meeting when we were seated and told how to order, and when someone brought our food and told us where to get water, not a single person in the restaurant spoke to us again. They cleared tables nearby and walked around us, bringing food to other tables. No one asked us how our food was, if we needed anything, if everything was okay. Sure wish I could take away most of that tip I had to enter before I ever got service. I usually give restaurants a few chances before I say, "never again". But after reading some of the owner/management responses to other negative reviews here, I don’t think this one needs or deserves a second chance.
I’ve come here quite a few times. The food is great as well as the drinks. What really disappoints me, is the customer service. The wait staff has zero personality and could not appear any less interested in talking with customers. I received a text message that my order was completed. We let them know we ordered food as well as drinks. No one offered to go back to check to see if my order was done. It took me asking them how much longer it would be 15 minutes later. When the girl handed me my food, I graciously thanked her and her reply to me was “uh huh”. A simple “ you’re welcome” or “sorry for the wait” would have been better. Customer service is everything and if it’s bad enough, it will deter people coming back.
“Happy to never return.” Menu options are very clearly curated for an expensive time out but sometimes this can be looked past for an excellent experience. However, given the price point for brunch here, nothing ordered had flavor or “wowed” any of us— even the drinks. It was as if someone had put together a restaurant with intention and didn’t follow up on their product. The last bit of irony is that this restaurant seems like it would at least be very “instagramable,” yet, the lighting for photographs was mediocre at best.
Visited this place over the summer and was really disappointed. Ordered a seasonal summer salad, a sandwich, and three drinks. The food took a while, but what surprised me most was that the salad took over 40 minutes to arrive—which really didn’t make sense. Tried to get a staff member’s attention, but no one stopped by to check on us. It wasn’t even during their rush; we arrived right when it had died down. Given the price range, I’m not sure it was worth it. What was meant to be a nice brunch date ended up falling short. Might give it a second chance and hope theres been some improvement, but based on this visit, it was pretty disappointing.
Honest Review: the food was delicious as was the latte. For people expecting a traditional dining experience this place is not for you. Not only is the menu on a QR code embedded in the table but you order through your phone and the food is delivered to your table. It’s more of a quick service type of thing. They do not accept cash! I ordered a mimosa and was given a jar of OJ and a token that I had to walk over to a vending machine to put it into and retrieve a small bottle of Prosecco from the machine. I had to go back to my table and make my own drink with it. I was also not asked for ID. We did not get any of the servers’ names and it was a very impersonal experience, yet they still expect 20% tipping. The main dining room is super bright and open and very posh, it had no privacy though and hard to have a conversation in as it was very loud. Overall, I did not enjoy this experience, but the food and coffee were incredible. I think if you’re a Gen Z or into this kind of dining you’ll love it though.
Put in a mobile order and got a text at 10:41am that it was ready. Arrived on time, was told they would check on it and the person I talked to seemed to return to the coffee bar. 15 minutes later asked the same person again, once again said they'd check on it and watched them go back to hosting/coffee. Asked by someone else what I was waiting for, seemingly annoyed, I said I had been waiting on a pickup order for 20 minutes and that seemed to make a difference due to other customers being in ear shot. Immediately goes to the back and brings out my order. The entire time I felt like I was an inconvenience as I was being walked around by multiple servers and given annoyed looks while waiting for my paid and "ready" food.
I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience didn’t sit right with me. We came in on a busy Sunday brunch and were met with unfriendly, unwelcoming energy. The only pleasant interaction we had was with Benny, who politely handed us our food and smiled while he did it. We chose takeout due to the way we were greeted, then waited about 20 minutes while our order sat on the counter without being called, despite other orders being announced. The space is beautiful, the food smelled great, and the coffee was delicious—but customer service makes a place, and unfortunately that was lacking here.
The workers do not care at all. They leave the milks out on the counter when it’s slow and they’re all standing around doing nothing. Leaving the milks on the counter is extremely unsafe and a breeding ground for bacteria. They also have cleaner out on the counter next to all the food which is definitely not safe. On top of all of that the workers have attitude problems, acting bothered that you’re even there, especially the worker “Elle.” Plus, the espresso tastes burnt. This is my third time going so I have definitely gave them enough of a chance and it is safe to say I’m absolutely done with them.
