Opinions de Prince Tea House Albee Square
What a gosh darn cute place!! I wish more places like this would open up in NYC that cater to tea and pastries. Say you want a cup of tea, right, and something sweet, but you don't want to be jostled by someone ordering munchkins or other perversions of pastries. You come here, you sit, start to relax, order a tea, and a sweet dessert. The ambiance is most restful, encouraging you to stay longer, but not too long, cuz it just tea and a sweet! Nice to find a pause button of a place in Crookland.
My daughter took me for my birthday and we really enjoyed it. The tea and the appetizers that they give you are just right even the coffee is nice the only thing is, if you like your tea or coffee really hot this is not the place, it is hot but not really hot to where you have to blow it a little to drink it The decor is so nice and the staff was very nice Will visit again.
I love this place! They recently changed the decor and added more dessert and drink selections. They even added afternoon tea! They changed the decor but it’s still cute! Great place for small groups, large groups, couples, 2 friends, and even individual dining! The food quality hasn’t gone down since the pandemic but I noticed the crepe cakes weren’t as sweet as they used to be (maybe it was a weird batch?)
Love the Tea here ! And the staff is very nice !
This place is amazing...in a strange location.... The food was delicious and reasonable. The stuff was completely amazing. The restrooms were brilliantly clean. The decor was spot on beautiful!
Party of 3 , we didnt wait long cuz we werent picky, asked us if we wouldnt mind sit in small private 2 chair table where they can just add an extra chair. It was the perfect personal spot actually. We had the potted rose tea, which complimented great with all the desserts, tiramisu, custard pudding and the yam souffle. Not too sweet at all. A nice casual quaint little european style theme with assorted teas and desserts. Highly recommended spot for a casual friends meet or a late night snack.
Beautiful decor. Good service. Had a nice hot beverage and cake. All good.
One of my favorite dessert go to spots in the area. We were seated promptly and the staff were very attentive! We thoroughly enjoyed the rose tea (and the small candle), the fruit toast (my favorite), and the mille feuille. Would come again always!
It was such a good place, the food was really good , and the workers were really nice too love it !
My partner loves this tea shop and so do I. Just by entering you feel a sense of tranquility. My favorite thing to order is the rose milk and lavender tea, depending on what I’m feeling that day and my favorite food would be the brown sugar boba milk crepe cake that doesn’t hurt the bank so much! I recommend heading over here to study or to bring someone you just met on a first date or a celebration!
Prince Tea House has been my go-to spot since it first opened, and it never disappoints! This charming tea house offers a cozy and elegant atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing with friends or enjoying some quiet time alone. The tea selection is extensive and impressive, featuring a wide variety of flavors that cater to every taste. My personal favorite is the Earl Grey Oolong tea – it's always brewed to perfection and has the most delightful aroma. The food menu is equally delightful, with a range of delicious desserts and light bites that complement the teas perfectly. The fried snacks here always make me happy; they're crispy, flavorful, and absolutely addictive. The staff at Prince Tea House are always welcoming and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. The attention to detail in both the decor and the presentation of food and drinks makes every visit feel special. I've been coming here for years, and I often joke that I should get a sponsorship for how frequently I recommend this place to everyone I know! Whether you're a tea enthusiast or just looking for a lovely place to unwind, Prince Tea House is definitely worth a visit. Five stars all the way!
So pretty inside with beautiful tea sets! Most of the hot food was fine, like the sandwiches being nothing special, but surprisingly the fries and the salted chicken were really quite good! Especially their ketchup for some reason? A bit pricy and not somewhere to go every weekend, but a really nice special outing, great if you want to take some pictures as well!
Beautiful, quiet oasis amid all the commotion of Brooklyn Chinatown! Love their tasteful decor, extensive tea selection, cozy seating and just overall ambiance. A great place to go for afternoon tea at a fraction of the price of, say, Lady Mendl's. Conveniently located near the N train.
This tea house was super cute! We really loved it. Great variety of teas, coffees and treats. Fun for the family. Definitely bring your kids.
i love the food, tea, and especially the clean bathroom 👍 Do not get the matcha or mango crepe cake though. The mango one is sour and had a very sweet syrup, and the matcha one doesn’t taste good (my sister and I hated it). 🍰⚠️ The takoyaki is super amazing though!! 🐙 good amount of squid, not too oily. Amazing taste, but not too rich.
I'm so glad that they renovated and reopened. I'm absolutely in love with this place. The ambience makes me feel like a princess at a tea party in a palace. The decor is just so lovely. They offer amazing customer service. We tried the Afternoon Tea for Three and loved all of the food. My favorite teas are the rose milk tea and jasmine milk tea. I hope to keep visiting this heavenly teahouse for years to come.
Pros: Regularly dream about Rose Lover’s milk tea, 5 stars just for that. I’ve come back three times just to drink it. Citrus and lavender quite good too. All the desserts are good and not too sweet, and I’ve tried almost all of them. I’m picky with desserts too. Wait staff attentive and nice. Afternoon tea is pleasant and good quality, would get again. Just have to call beforehand to reserve that. Cons: sometimes can get loud, especially if there’s a bunch of children. Green tea financier was just a tiny bit dry but still enjoyed.
Love Prince tea house, great selection of sandwiches, salads, drinks and desserts. Great atmosphere and staff. Especially the selections of tea. You cannot go wrong visiting this restaurant.
This charming English-style tea house is one of my favorite spots whenever I visit my family in NYC. It offers a lovely afternoon tea experience, complete with beautifully presented desserts and a variety of light bites that pair perfectly with their tea selection. The vibe is cozy, elegant, and relaxing—ideal for catching up with friends or just enjoying a quiet moment over tea. From the delicate pastries to the savory snacks, everything is thoughtfully prepared and delicious. It’s become a personal tradition for me, and I always make sure to stop by during each visit. A true gem for tea lovers and anyone who appreciates a peaceful, refined setting.
I took myself to afternoon tea today and it was hands down on the best experiences. I got there around 1:30 PM and everything was lovely. It wasn’t crowded at all probably because it was Friday midday but the afternoon tea for one was incredibly fresh and generous! This will be my new spot! Once a week!
Yesterday, I went to the tea house with four friends. It wasn't crowded. We sat at a nice table. Susan, the waitress who welcomed us, was very friendly and cute. We ordered two teapots and three desserts. The tea was delicious. The tiramisu was amazing. I didn’t really like the cake. The prices were reasonable. The place was very clean. We enjoyed the time we spent there. We will come again. ☺️
I came here for my friend's bday celebration. I was looking forward to it since I'm very much a tea person!! This place exceeded my expectations. The decor was absolutely beautiful! The selections of tea were amazing! What really made me grateful was the accommodation this tea house does for patrons who are vegetarian (which I am) and for patrons with fish allergies. The food was light, divine, yet filling. Amy was pure awesome sauce! She was so lovely, kind and attentive!! I'd most certainly be a repeat patron at this fine establishment!!👏🏾
Everything was delicious. The staff was wonderful and quick. The place is beautifully decorated. I would return. The salt chicken was amazing I just wish there was a dipping sauce. The mango crepe cake was wonderful. The fruit toast was okay, I probably would not get it again. The milk foam on the drinks was delicious.
I went to this location for a planned bridal shower for a good friend. We had booked the back room for our party and was allotted 2 hours. We were allowed to decorate, be as loud as we wanted, and play our bridal games. The store was quaint, nicely decorated, and super cute. It's rather small, so not a good place for large groups of more than 4 people to just pop in for tea. It's usually very crowded and has a wait. The price is high due to all their gorgeous plates, teapots, specialty teas, and tiny tea party style desserts. The store is decorated based on the holiday season and makes for a nice photo. It's a cute location for a nice chat with a girlfriend or two but definitely wouldn't count on a table to fit more than 4 people or a party of 4 or more to be seated promptly or comfortably. The service is slow and they do seem short staffed, but it's an afternoon tea place... so do not expect fast service, it's more for a leisurely dine experience. I have no complaints over the food, everything we ordered was delicious! I absolutely loved my Lavendar Tea that came with it's own warming station! Warm tea at the perfect temperature for the entire party. I would recommend this place for Baby Showers and Bridal Showers for sure 😁🎈
Great ambiance, elegant, frosty decor . attentive service. Many sweet tea and dessert options. Serves small mains and appetizers as well, though dessert is their specialty. The sides are tasty but not at extravagant. Nice to go with groups and as a romantic spot. Sets itself apart from the rest of the neighborhood in its upscale feel. Very clean. Even the bathrooms are goegeous. Cute spot - would go again for a fun, chic escape dining experience. Only accepted cash though while charging tax and moderately expensive.
I used to love going there for a sweet treat after dinner, it was always a good experience. Their desserts were always top-notch, and I never left disappointed. However, I've noticed the prices have really gone up over time, unfortunately. It's become a bit too pricey for me to visit as often as I'd like now. Still recommend for a splurge, just be prepared to spend a little more!
I’m giving 4 starts just because of the food it was very delicious. However, I would give 0 starts for the waitresses (girls) their attitude and everything is terrible service. She brought food with a disgruntled face and just threw it on the table. You better change employees. The waffles are the best!
It was a mutual working experience with Luka, event coordinator. I threw a bridal shower party here and the experience was overall great in terms of food and service. There is a $15 order minimum per person for using the private room in the back, and the party size needs to be 8+. It fits comfortably for up to 10-12, but would be cramped if more. There's a refundable $100 deposit.
A cute date place or great for an outing with girlfriends. I recommended the hot teas and cold beverages as they were delicious. The dessert were aesthetically made but don't taste that great; a bit sugerless. The Tiramisu tasted a bit bland; Lava cake was better. The decor was chic and overall the atmosphere was pleasant. I didn't give it a 5 because the staff was not friendly (with the exception of the hostess) and very in personable. And they didn't bring the items in a good order. We received the ice cream cake several minutes before the other dessert so my sister had to eat her dessert while we were still waiting. And the hot teas came out while we were already half way through with eating our desserts. Recommendation: If having hot tea and dessert, one pot is enough for 2-3 people; if only having tea, one is good for a person.
Visits from 2017-2019... Decor here is so cute. One of the first cute tea/dessert cafes to open on this side of Brooklyn. [SERVICE] Good -- you'll get served and they don't bother you. You can flag the staff down anytime for anything else. [TEA] A bit pricey for what is it. Not all the teas served are loose leaf, so if that's what you want--be sure to check. Lots of the milk teas are also just powder (ie: taro, rose flavors). [DESSERT] Yummy! The layer crepe cakes are my favorite here as well as the matcha cream puff
Visited with friends. There was a 5-10 minute wait when we arrived at around 6:30PM. Wasn't really crowded tho so it was ok. The seating was quite spacious (in one of the booth-like tables). Good place to chill and chat with friends. Ordered the signature jasmine milk tea (the...off white drink), while my friends got the signature rose green tea and the matcha tea. They each weren't overly sweet or strong (in terms of the floral taste) so they were good.👍 Tried their new purple yam crepe.... roll (forgot what its called...), it wasnt bad... but I dont recall tasting much yam... I got the waffle with condensed milk, mango and a scoop of green tea ice cream. Overall, quite worth the price ($8) for this good-sized waffle 🙃. (*They dim lights around 7:30PM 😶)
Card minimum is $25. On an otherwise quiet night in the area, this place was packed with a mostly young crowd. The decor and cutlery are very cute and cozy. The food menu features a few hot bites and a selection of single-plate desserts. The drink menu is a very impressive assortment of cold and hot (mostly tea) beverages. Our hot white tea (~$7) and two desserts (~$8 each) were very light and fun to share, although lacking a bit in flavor. The service was fine, friendly but on the slow side.
The tea selection at Prince Tea House is truly exceptional. Whether you're a fan of classic teas or looking to explore unique flavors, their extensive tea menu will satisfy even the most discerning tea connoisseurs. Each cup is brewed with precision, resulting in a delightful and aromatic experience that complements the food perfectly. But their staff a sometimes condescending. I think they can be friendlier and speak nicer.
I always love coming here. It may not be the best ever but its extremely convenient when you want to feel fancy and eat good. It is pricey. It always somehow comes out to $100 for just two people haha. But i can’t fault it… my 5 experiences here were all good and staff is friendly and attentive.
Food is good, fresh and crispy! Dessert is a hit or miss. The mixed fruit Mille crepe cake had a lot of cream in between, there wasn't much layers, and the bottom layer is sponge cake. The toast was burnt, flagged over the waitress, and she argued that "that is how it is". It is not, we have ordered it numerous times at this location as well as their 86st location. The knife couldn’t even cut through. She did apologize and put a order for a new one which we appreciated. Really great spot to hang out and chit chat. We stayed over 2 hours and did get some occasional stare downs from them but they didn't try to push us out or anything.
This is the 3rd Prince Tea Place I have been to. So far this one is my 2nd favorite! If you are near sunset park do visit this place. It’s beautiful. I went there on weekends and it was packed! So didn’t stayed too long. The amount of time I was there I had a great time . I ordered shrimp lolypop, crepe cake & tea. Like always loved the shrimp lolypop & the tea was amazing! I had really great time. I did checked out the restroom because for any kind of hospitality business it’s important, and to me it’s more important because it shows how much care the owner has for their customers! It was not congested like some other restroom & loved the decor. Only reason I gave 4 star is because I had been to orher ones & to me Staten Island one was the most beautiful one. Let’s see in future after visiting the rest of I change my mind.
My friend introduced me to this place today. It was so nice inside and everything on the menu is pretty affordable in my opinion! I liked the dessert and tea!!! It was sooo good!!! 😭 I ordered Jasmine tea and it smelled and tasted beautiful. We also ordered the smoked salmon salad! Pretty good! The salmon was a bit salty but with the greens it definitely goes great and feels less salty 😊 I liked it for sure! The green tea crepe was really good!
It is always very crowded and loud here. The music does not match the theme of the place. The food is alright. The desserts are much better. They have a wide selection of tea. Some of the waitresses gave a bit of attitude. I will say however, that the place is very cute. (Instagram worthy)
Very nice atmosphere and delicious tea’s and desserts , BUT appetizers and other food were nasty. You could tell by the taste that they reused old oils. After I went home I felt super sick and felt like throwing up. If you want to go there just get a tea and desserts this place doesn’t have a good food.
Insane wait for food. 1 hour + because they wanted to serve a "vip" first. Pizza is NOT worth the price based on size. I don't recommend it. Fried squid tails, 6 pieces for 10 dollars, better off making my own. Very disappointed in service.
I ordered a 10 inch green tea crepe today and it tasted terrible. It was filled of cream in every bite and after a few bites it was just too much. We ended up throwing out half the cake. I have been here before and highly recommended it until this day. The workers even managed to flip over the box. Overall it looked very unprofessional. We spent $90 dollars for a cake and this is what we get? Price went up and quality went down
