Comimos 5 menús degustación y espectacular!!!!. Recomendable 💯
The last time we went, it was in a different location, and we wanted to go back, but we thought it had closed down completely. We were sad to see it closed, and this year we saw it had reopened in a new place, so we came without hesitation. Eating here is just like eating in the north of Spain: generous portions, good quality (you can tell it's homemade), a great atmosphere, very attentive service, and excellent customer service from all the staff. The price is fantastic; we went for Christmas lunch, and for 37 euros, we were stuffed. The cachopo was incredible!
An experience. You walk in and immediately see the smoke rising from the ceiling and smell the food, which almost makes you want to turn back. We went for lunch during the Christmas holidays and the atmosphere is very lively, perhaps too much so, a bit boisterous every time a plate of cachopo (breaded and stuffed veal cutlet) comes out, it's quite a spectacle. There are more than enough waiters; you're served immediately. We opted for the typical 35 euro tasting menu and left absolutely stuffed: about four starters, all the fabada (Asturian bean stew) you could want, all the soupy seafood rice you could want, and then the famous cachopo, plus unlimited beer and cider—it was fantastic. The fabada, to be honest, could have been much better for an Asturian restaurant, but the rest of the food was flawless. Would I go back? Possibly with friends. If you're looking to have a good time and not go hungry, it's perfect. If you're going for a quiet dinner with your partner, you're better off looking for somewhere else.
It's incredible that a place like this exists. The food is plentiful, delicious, and the bar is open. And at an unbeatable price. The owner is fabulous and attentive. You can tell he loves what he does. I'm going to Alcalá de Henares next, and even though it's far away, I'm sure I'll be back.
We were eight friends on a bachelor party, and we loved it. The service was fantastic from the moment we arrived. They were super friendly, and the owner explained exactly what we were going to eat before we started. Considering the amount of food on the menu, it's nice to have them explain everything beforehand so you can plan your meal. Our menu also included an open bar of beer and cider, and they were always attentive to make sure we didn't miss out on anything. The quality of the food was incredible, and the cachopo was spectacular. I already want to go again.
SPECTACULAR! It was a surprise for my wife. We ordered a 7-course tasting menu for €35 per person, including croquettes, scorpion fish pie, red prawns, fabada, brothy rice, and cachopo. You'll try everything typical of Asturias and leave completely satisfied. And the service and advice were exquisite. I'll definitely be back.
We went to El Figón de Antxon looking for a good meal, and we left delighted! From the moment we arrived, the owner and the waiters provided excellent service: friendly, attentive, and with an attitude that truly makes a difference. It was clear they are passionate about what they do, and that comes through in every detail. They recommended the "all-you-can-eat and drink" menu, which included unlimited cider and a variety of homemade dishes that kept coming out of the kitchen. Everything we tried was delicious, from the appetizers to the desserts, and the best part was that you could have as much as you wanted! The cachopo deserves special mention; it was simply spectacular: juicy, flavorful, and a generous size, perfect for sharing (or not). Without a doubt, one of the best we've ever had. The food was plentiful, authentic, and truly homemade, with that flavor you only find in places where they cook with love. We finished completely stuffed, but happy to have enjoyed such a generous and well-presented meal. A place we will definitely return to and that we recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy good food, a great atmosphere and service that makes you feel at home.
It's definitely a place we'll return to, a true haven for Asturian cuisine. We went for lunch on a Friday, tried a ton of dishes—generous portions and truly delicious. You can tell Antxon knows his stuff; we chatted with him for quite a while over dessert. We wish there were more places like this, and we'll definitely be back.
We spent the day in the town and went to this cider house, definitely a good choice. The dining room is a bit small for all the people there, but Antxon, being a good host, arranged for us to feel comfortable. The food is very good quality, homemade, and quite reasonably priced. Antxon takes your order without writing anything down, and at the end, he comes to the table to remind us what we ate and give us the bill. Despite all the people there, it didn't take long to be served. Without a doubt, you have to order the cachopo Rex, just to hear the song he brings it to your table. The oxtail croquettes are incredible and not at all greasy. This place is definitely highly recommended.
Whether you live near Santos de la Humosa or not, you have to come eat at this place. Its appearance is discreet, unpretentious, but don't be fooled by that because its cuisine will surprise you, and from the moment you walk through the door, you'll feel right at home. The food is spectacular; everything oozes homemade, traditional cuisine but with a personal and unique touch, quality and quantity in all their products, and of course, love in everything they do. Anton was always concerned that the food was cooked to perfection and to your liking, and that was certainly the case. The word that would define today's meal is HAPPINESS. It's not often that you feel that way when you go out to eat, but we truly felt at home and happy. I truly hope everything goes great for you and that the locals welcome you with the same warmth with which you welcome your customers.
A wonderful dining experience, Anton is quite the character he was very helpful with explaining the menu to us in English, the food was delicious and plentiful , washed down with a refreshing cider sangria. Top service, great food, a real gem in a small town.
No complaints. Enjoyed the Cachopo and will do it again
D.p.m.
High food quality, kind staff very costumer oriented, excellent value for the money. We will repeat. Absolutely recommended.
We had the tasting menu with all drinks included, and we could have as many courses as we wanted, although that's practically impossible given how much they serve. The only downside was the desserts; they were very weak, far too weak compared to the rest of the menu. Good value for money, and the service was excellent. We'd definitely go back.
A great dining experience, excellent service, and you'll have a good laugh with the owner, who's both cheerful and friendly, and very attentive to customers. The starters are very good and meant to be shared; the fabada (Asturian bean stew) is superb, and the rice dish is reminiscent of grandma's cooking. The cachopo (breaded and stuffed veal cutlet) is presented in a mega-sized portion, depending on the number of diners. And the presentation ritual is a noisy, collective effort by everyone in the restaurant. I have to say that the prices are neither exorbitant nor outrageous. Considering everything they serve and how much you want to eat, the price is REASONABLE.
A ver a ver ....
Since we were near the village, we went to this cider house that had been recommended to us. The food wasn't bad, but it had many flaws. The fabada (Asturian bean stew) was served lukewarm, although it tasted good. The cachopo (breaded and fried veal cutlet) was a bit tough, and we didn't like the raw ham or the dessert, which was a selection of sweets. The place is small, and the staff is friendly and efficient. I don't think we'll be back.
Let's start with the good stuff: the food is very good and (very) plentiful. It has no weaknesses in that regard. However, the system for ordering set menus is odd (if someone orders the tasting menu, the whole table eats from it and is charged per person; if you wanted something else, tough luck). Service: There are quite a few waiters, but they only approach when they see there's no more food. If you don't want to eat any more and want to order dessert, forget it. Furthermore, the owner is the only one who takes orders, which significantly slows down the service. Atmosphere: This is the worst part. As soon as you walk in and see the tables crammed together and the smoke filling the place, you feel like running away. The noise makes it impossible to have a conversation, and to top it all off, the owner cheers like a boor every time he brings out a cachopo (a breaded and fried meat dish). By the way, if you're unlucky enough to get a table in the hallway leading to the bathroom, be prepared for a multitude of people brushing past you (going back and forth), because the space to walk through is incredibly narrow. Don't even think about going with children. Even though they have an outrageously large children's menu for €14, I'm telling you, it's not going to be a good experience.
