This restaurant near the Alcañiz shopping center has excellent food, as well as attentive service from the all-female staff. Although we had to eat on the terrace because we booked at the last minute, we'll definitely return if we're back in the area.

Update July '24: Another excellent weekday lunch at Empeltre wirh ensaladilla rusa, grilled red tuna and cheesecake for dessert. The service was also excellent despite the fact that they had a very large group for lunch. And congratulations on the accoustics. Normally with a group that size in a restaurant you couldn't hear yourself think! April 2024: Empeltre like its rival Micelios deserves 6 stars for its set lunch at 20€. We hadn't been here for a couple of years and were extremely impressed by the originality, quality and value for money. There was plenty of choice. My wife decided on two starters: the red bean stew with chorizo followed by grilled vegetables with a romesco sauce. I had the wok with noodles and vegetable strips in a delicious sauce and the melt-in-the-mouth pork with slices of apple and a local 'patamulo' cheese sauce. Both of us went for pastel ruso for dessert. A bottle of wine was included and we had a very good Somontano 3404 Chardonnay/Gewurztraminer. Service is a bit too quick and efficient and a little "distant". They need to engage more with their clients, talk about the food and receive the praise they are due.

Restaurante con buena carta,  hay una propuesta variada,  amplia en general Quizás se olvidan de gente que le gusta comer algo más saludable de verduras donde el producto sea el protagonista y no lleve tanto aliño Pero bueno, en general se come bien, sí te gusta comer mucho, aquí te vas a dar un festín, sus platos son generosos Relación calidad precio correcto puede que incluso barato La atención es rápida y cordial Dejo algunas fotos

Hola restaurante con buena carta y buena bodega, especialmente de champán para ser una ciudad pequeña, los boletus con panceta es super recomendable, la chuleta pedirla poco hecha.

The food was exquisite; if you don't mind paying the price, I highly recommend it. We spent €50 per person, ordering three shared starters and a main course each. It's a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Well, it went from bad to worse, unfortunately. We found the first ones excellent. But the second ones were a bit lacking. They were good, yes. We will repeat, if we ever can, we would certainly like to find out why the second ones seemed to us to be a bit lower in quality.

El lugar nos llamó la atención por el restaurante que tiene al lado, pero estaba lleno y acabamos aquí. Probamos muchos de los platos pero en resumen no nos convenció. El peor plato fue el arroz con pulpo. No soy un gran amante del arroz y este no me hizo cambiar de parecer. La salsa me recordó el tomate frito del arroz a la cubana. El mejor fue los huevos trufados y también muy buena la alcachofa con foie. Sorprendentes los postres: la leche con galletas estaba delicioso y recordaba el sabor de ese desayuno típico.

Two of us went for dinner. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty. They brought us the menu, and we told them what we wanted to order. The waitress insisted we order some appetizers because they were so delicious. Almost threateningly, she told us that the kitchen makes the appetizers first and then everything else, and that if we didn't order appetizers, we'd have to wait. The funny thing is, we arrived at 9:00 PM, and the restaurant was empty, so the wait didn't make sense; it was more of a threat to get us to order more dishes. As for the food, the burger, for the price, had a sliced-bread bun, and the fries, as you can see in the picture, were inedible. The roast lamb was tiny (20 euros). For dessert, we ordered the "Pink Panther" cheesecake. We didn't take a picture, but with all the pink sauce, you couldn't even see the cake. In short, if we go back to Alcañiz, we won't be ordering this place again.

I was here several times in the last years. Always good and high quality. But now... like a "good" cantina, very fast, without passion. just feed and go - prices still high...

Personal desagradable, sobre todo la camarera del pelo canoso. Muy soberbia y temperamental, quizás en otro trabajo da el perfil pero para estar de cara al público, hay que tener otros modales y empatía con los clientes. Resumiendo, muy poca educación para el puesto que ocupa. Suerte. Por otro lado, las raciones escasas, con cierta elaboración y presencia pero la cantidad justita.
