Another great and perfect evening at Meson! Very nice service from the owner and his very competent waitress. Today we went with Paella-seafood. Delicious and perfect wine. This place is a highlight for us. We would love to return. One thing… book a table, only way to get a place there.

Found this hidden gem today. Wished we found it on our first visit last year. Had an amazing evening with great food and even better service. Went for the Grilled Sea Bass, it was so perfectly prepared and moist. My wife went for Sea Bass filet in orange sauce…nothing left on the plate. I just wanted aquick dessert and choose the Crepes Suzette. Mums… After dinner wegit a brandy and baily on the house. Nothing compates to excellent service, kindness and excellent food. KUDOS to the two people in the kitchen - you are great! 💪🏻💪🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏 oh..we have reserved a table for the coming Saturday!

Another lovely evening! Faultless. Brilliant, hot food served on piping hot plates. Hungarian Goulash is amazing as was the Sea Bass. Lovely service from Coral as always. Don’t forget to book!

A real find! Excellent high-quality food, with a lovely presentation. The seafood soups was fantastic, with a broth that had depth of flavor and a nice variety of seafood. I also had the lamb shank, which was incredibly tender, fall off the bone delicious. Adorable place, very old world decor, which adds to the overall pleasure of dining here. The service is attentive, and they take great pride in providing a lovely dining experience.

Det er 8 år siden sist og stedet er bare bedre, maten fantastisk, vinen supergod og servicen perfekt. Jeg spiste surckling pig som jeg har gjort mange ganger og i dag var den spanias beste. Supert at du klarer å holde denne gode standarden Monolo.

We stumbled across this cute and intimate restaurant looking for paella at 6pm. They didn’t open the kitchen until 6:30pm but let us sit down outside in the courtyard table area and we ordered a jug of sangria and she brought us out complimentary olives. Best sangria we’ve had this trip!! And the waitress was awesome, funny and helpful. The paella was fantastic - mix of chicken and seafood. Perfect flavors and great size for my husband and me. We will definitely be back next trip! I highly recommend you go sit outside here and enjoy the atmosphere, the lovely restaurant and food, and great staff !! ❤️

Great food, absolutely awesome paella, excellent wines available. Service is attentive and friendly. Book in advance, especially close to peak season as it's well earned reputation makes it popular! Highly recommended dining experience.

We absolutely love this restaurant we have been coming for 25 years. Food and service is always first class. Especially love Manolo's wine recommendations. The magician tonight was a great addition. Delicious!

Coming back here every year is a treat. I would recommend making reservations. We did not have a reservation in this case, but were advised to have a drink at the café next door before going to the table after about half an hour. The service is super friendly and knowledgeable. Carol was a perfect host and the other ladies in a word: fantastic. The food is insane and certainly for the price you pay. The paella is to die for and you can also just order anything to share with each other. And all thanks to Mr Manola. A wine list that is not too extensive, but has a huge number of delicious choices. We love coming back every year and preferably for the whole week. Thank you very much!

Très petit resto ,en hiver,8 tables, donc il faut penser à réserver. La meilleure paella de mijas.

This was a return visit and once again the staff were very friendly and efficient even though we changed wine and which table we sat at. The main dishes of lamb shank and pork loin in creamy mushroom were very good as usual.we ordered flan and crêpe Suzette for dessert, the flan was ok but the crêpe was obviously frozen and reheated and gone rubbery, I'd expected a flambé at the table. The bill was high because we'd chosen an expensive bottle of wine.

Het eten was zeer lekker alhoewel de porties van de hoofdgerechten iets groter konden. Zowel vlees als vis gerechten zijn goed bereid (foto's: amandeltaart, octopus, kalfsvlees met prei, voorgerechten). Je had veel opties om uit te kiezen inclusief 1 vegetarische optie. De bediening was vriendelijk maar soms proberen je ze dingen wel te verkopen. Op tijd reserveren is wel aangeraden. Algemeen: prijs-kwaliteit zeer goed, prijs-kwantiteit goed.

3 out of the 7 nights at Calahonda we enjoyed our dinner at El Meson..., the food is prime and the service by the 2 ladies excellent. Mr Manola has limited winelist, but the wines they have or serve are good. Recommendations most welcome.We enjoyed the authentic Paella very much. The interieur is nice, authentic, but not a thrilling atmosphere, I would not expect more to enjoy a good meal, wine or drinks. Will definatly go back in the years ahead.

Mycket trevlig liten restaurang, lite varmt inomhus men det finns några bord ute under parasoll. personalen är fantastiskt trevlig. Maten är alltid god och riklig. Stort urval av viner.

Full of tourists, not a single spaniard and the menus prices and flavors reflect it. (ie 2 euros for a bread roll, 20 euro mains, huge focus on decor) One thing that was great was the seafood soup. Everything else was lacking. Lots of drunk older germans who looked really happy though.

We've praised Meson multiple times after many lovely meals and they do rightly enjoy the praise. However this evening we found a real lack of accountability after twice being served croquettes that were frozen in the centre. A tap on the shoulder and whispered "sorry 'bout that" followed by surly look from the owner was a massive letdown. Sadly we won't be back. A real shame after years of return visits.

Llegamos a cenar un viernes a las 22.30 hy dicen q no dan ya cenas,q van a cerrar la cocina, fin de semana, viernes y con feria y en el mesón de calahonda te dicen q no q te vayas al macdonal, enserio es vergonzoso, y el trato recibido nefasto no recomiendo ni el sitio, ni la gente q no quieren trabajar allí,, lo único q quieren es salir temprano para su casa, pues q no trabajen q se queden en su casa, pertenezco al sector hostelero y las cocinas se cierran a las 00.00 y aunque entres 10 minutos antes de cerrar se les atiende y se les da de cenar. En fin un sitio menos al q ir.
