Kobe Japanese Steakhouse - Altamonte Springs

Onkyo was exceptional. He was so fun and treated us so well. It was our daughter’s birthday and he made it extra special. He was our cook a few years ago and he still the best. Obviously the food was delicious and the portions were huge. We had a few drinks at the bar while we waited for our table and the service was excellent. I do recommend to always make a reservation because it’s always packed, but it was definitely worth the wait. We were supposed to go somewhere else but since we entered the place they were rude and tried to divide us into two different tables and not even next or close to each other, so we decided to leave and go to Kobé and we definitely don’t regret our decision, Kobé never disappoint us.

The fried rice was amazing. I ordered the chicken and filet mignon and the filet was great. The chicken was not my favorite but it was still cooked well. Overall it was a good meal with decent portions of food.

The food was so delicious! My first time being here at this location, the place was very clean and Jeanie, our server was so sweet and kind. Definitely a sweet date night for Valentines Day!

A very solid hibachi spot. I’m watching my red meat intake, so I went with the tofu and added a half-dozen scallops—both were excellent. The fried rice was also tasty and hit the spot. In my opinion, Kobe is much more consistent than Benihana, which feels like it’s fallen off lately. Just a heads-up: you’re paying for the experience and the show here, so it’s not cheap. If you just want the food without the performance, you might be better off with takeout elsewhere, but for a great night out and high-quality food, this is a top-tier choice in Altamonte.

I had an amazing experience at Kobe’s in Altamonte, and a huge part of that was our waitress Ida. She was such a pleasure very sweet, incredibly attentive, and made us feel truly taken care of throughout the night. I was there celebrating my birthday and honestly got so caught up in the moment that I forgot it was my birthday. To my surprise, at the end of the night the staff came out singing Happy Birthday and brought me a cupcake it was such a thoughtful and awesome touch that really made my night special. 🎉🧁 I would definitely recommend anyone coming to Kobe’s to ask to sit in Ida’s section. She was pleasant, professional, and made the whole experience memorable. I can’t wait to come back!

I got the scallop and lobster hibachi and it was so good. The lychee margarita was sweet and tasty. Jennie was a great server and was very sweet. Ozzy was a great chef! Would come again in the future

So we sat a table where two ppl was having a birthday ! My plate was dirty and then normally everyone gets the same amount of food well not today the cook pilled food so much on this one girls plate she needed two takeouts. Me while we didn’t get any veggies and barely any rice! I understand some ppl order extra food, but that wasn’t the case even the girl was shocked . I was annoyed. But the food was good as always

We had a party of 8, the experience Frank showed us was bar none. My first time here others second or third. Joe our server showed us a great time and made the whole experience like I was in a foreign land experiencing the culture for the first time. My group celebrated a friend's birthday and they couldn't have made it better. Thank you Joe and Frank, we'll be back.

Angel & Frank were phenomenal duo. Angel was extremely attentive and Frank was super funny and entertaining . Will be back because of these two! :)

Una and Onkyo are a duo that cannot be missed. Great experience from start to finish. Food is amazing! Definitely get a Saki Bomb.

We had a different Thanksgiving this year as I am a nurse and worked so we had dinner here on thanksgiving and it was delicious as usual. Our local location is Longwood but this location was good.

Kobe restaurant all I can say is everything was great. From the food, the chef's presentation. Overral experience was wonderful. I will give them 5 stars Thank you, Kobe. See you next time.

We visited Kobe’s for the first time with my family, and honestly, we left more than delighted with everything. Our chef, JP, was amazing — his energy made us laugh and truly enjoy the entire experience. And the food was absolutely delicious, from the rice and vegetables to the meats. Our server, Ken, was also wonderful: always attentive, kind, and very helpful. We definitely can’t wait to come back soon. Thank you again to JP and Ken for giving us such a pleasant and memorable time.

Absolute 10/10 experience, especially for my birthday! Mamba (our chef and entertainer for the night) was really talented and funny, making the entire table laugh on multiple occasions. Personally, I got the sirloin and shrimp. Both, alongside their white sauce, were really good! Their potatoes were lovely, so is the rice. Our chef's humor was definitely family friendly, so feel safe bringing your kids here! I do have a sneaky suspicion they do have more... adult humor, if it's majorly adults. Overall, a 100% recommendation if you're visiting the state, or just looking for a good place to eat for a special occasion!

Onkyo is the absolute best!! I always request him for our parties because he keeps you laughing while he feeds you deliciously prepared food! Una was our waitress and she made sure our celebration went off without a hitch. 10/10 recommend

We had such a great experience here! Una was our waitress and she was amazing—very attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Our chef, Onkyo, cooked right in front of us and he was fantastic! Not only was the food delicious, but he was also very funny and kept everyone entertained. We brought our little one and she had a wonderful time watching the chef cook and joke around. The whole experience was fun, welcoming, and memorable. Definitely recommend this restaurant for great service, great food, and a great show!

Had a great experience at Kobe! From start to finish, everything was on point. Huge shoutout to Una for her wonderful service. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole meal feel relaxed and enjoyable without being intrusive. The food was fantastic as well. Onkyo absolutely nailed it. Everything came out perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. You can really tell when a kitchen takes pride in what they’re putting out, and it shows here. Overall, great food, great service, and a really pleasant atmosphere. Definitely looking forward to coming back again. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Chef Ozzy and our server Jeanie were fantastic! Ozzy was entertaining and cooked our food to perfection. We had some first-timers with us celebrating birthdays, and they were so impressed that they already made reservations for their next visit. Jeanie kept the drinks flowing and the good times rolling, even helping us with our family picture and making kid friendly chopsticks. Kobe never disappoints!

This was so delicious. We had enough for 2 more meals! I gave it a 3 on atmosphere because it was so cold inside. The hostess showed me the thermostat and it was 58 degrees in there. She said the ac was on and there was nothing they could do about it. It was during the cold snap and I was so cold and I'm never cold. We will surely go back during warmer weather.

Jeanie and Aussie were amazing! Jeanie was right there anytime we finished something or need anything at all. She was the best server I think I’ve had all year long. When we go back I will ask for her. Aussie was a great chef. Very friendly and cooked the food perfectly. I highly recommend this duo and this restaurant!

Came for the kids birthday, and had a great time with everyone. Mamba was our chef, and we fricken love him. Joined in on the shenanigans, and by the end of the night was basically part of the group. Teo was on point, not a single dry cup at the table and no time to get over crowded with plates. I know we weren't his only table, but it almost felt like it. Come here often, and for good reason. These folks were great.

Amazing place! From the moment you walk in, the staff is incredibly welcoming, attentive, and professional. They truly care about their clients and make you feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. Hygiene is clearly a top priority — everything is spotless, well-organized, and extremely clean. The salon itself is beautiful, fresh, and very well maintained. The service was done with great attention to detail and exceeded my expectations. You can tell they take pride in their work and genuinely love what they do. Overall, it was a flawless experience. I highly recommend this place to everyone and will definitely be coming back!

This place is excellent for holiday gatherings, birthdays. Be ready to be entertained while enjoying a great meal.

So for starters everyone was super nice from the hostesses, bartenders, servers, Cook, busers . The drinks and food were good. I had a peachy lychee martini; it was okay and looked pretty but crazy sweet, it was not filled to the brim and there was a HUGE Lychee so there was in reality very little “drink”. I had the tuna Tataki for an appetizer.(which I’ve had hundreds of times.) the presentation was beautiful. The tuna was delicious itself, but they added an extra sweet sauce to it. I’ve never had on it to talk before and just the ponds due to dip in wasn’t a fan of the extra sweet sauce should be a simple dish. I got the Kobi trio which came with the onion soup, which was delicious and a traditional ginger salad, large portion very good. Me and my friend then had sake bombs, which they sing, for it was really fun. The whole table got into it. Our chef who cooked the food was nice, but his timing was a little off He made certain things like chicken for half the table and then not the other half till later probably a 15 minute time difference. I’ve only ever had hibachi with rice. They gave half rice half noodles which wasn’t bad but not a fan of I think the waitress asked about it, but it was so loud. I couldn’t actually hear so I did the smile and nod maybe my fault . The proteins themselves of steak shrimp and chicken were all very delicious and cooked. Well. The veggies were also good. However, they also added potatoes never had that before not that I don’t love a potato. It just seemed odd lol I’m used to getting two sauces a brown sauce and a Yum Yum sauce. The only provided Yum Yum and I felt bad because he kept having to refill everyone’s sauce. Dippers were very small. I think mine was refilled like nine times not being sarcastic. Overall I would recommend and we had fun in the food was good but there’s some referral improvement.

Not sure how they can give so little sauce with an order of crab Rangoon. The small container wasn’t even half full. It was enough for only three pieces. Food was good as always

Our experience here was unfortunately not the best. We were seated directly across from the AC vent, so while the chef was cooking, all of the smoke and heat continuously blew in our direction, making it difficult to fully enjoy the experience. The server noticed, and when we brought it up again to ask what could be done, we were told there was nothing they could do. There was no empathy or attempt to accommodate us, which was disappointing. Because we were seated to the right of the chef, we ended up receiving noticeably smaller portions. The chef was very generous with the first guests, to the point that by the time he reached us, he had run low. My husband’s rice portion actually ran out and had to be brought from elsewhere. As for vegetables, we received mostly onions while others received more of the vegetables. When there was extra food, it was offered back to the first guests rather than balancing out what we lacked. We were celebrating Valentine’s Day, so this made what should have been a special evening difficult to fully enjoy. Overall, we left highly disappointed. If it was cheap, there would be no complaints but we spent over $100 for 2 plates of food.

Very Disappointing Birthday Dinner We came to Kobe Steakhouse to celebrate my son’s 23rd birthday (party of 5), and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We waited about 20 minutes past our reservation to be seated. When ordering, my son politely requested his food be cooked without butter or high oil due to health reasons. The waiter rolled his eyes and sighed, making us feel uncomfortable. The chef then completely ignored the request and served rice and noodles despite my son asking for none. Later, my 12-year-old became sick, and while staff did clean promptly, when I returned to the table my food had already been boxed up without anyone asking—even though my family was still eating. This dinner cost $234, and the entire experience felt rushed and dismissive. The manager offered a $35 credit for a future visit, but this was supposed to be a special celebration and it was ruined. Poor service, ignored dietary needs, and not worth the price.

I was very disappointed with my experience. While the atmosphere was actually nice and the restaurant itself looks good, everything else fell short. Food: The food was just okay—definitely not what I expected for the price. Portions and flavor did not stand out, and it didn’t feel worth the cost. Service: Service was poor. Staff seemed inattentive and unprofessional, and we did not feel welcomed or taken care of. This really affected the overall experience. Atmosphere: The only positive part was the atmosphere. The setting was pleasant and had a nice vibe, which is why I gave it more stars in that category. Unfortunately, good ambiance alone isn’t enough. Between the food quality and the service, I would not return or recommend this place.
