Morimoto Napa was an amazing dining experience. The sticky ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The shrimp tempura roll was spectacular, incredibly fresh, and bursting with flavor. Service was outstanding, attentive, friendly, and made us feel well taken care of. The ambiance was beautiful, especially dining outside along the Napa Riverwalk with the scenic view. We finished with the s’mores dessert, which was decadent and absolutely dazzling. A truly memorable meal from start to finish. Tip: It’s best to call ahead and make reservations, the place fills up quickly.

From the moment you walk through the understated wooden doors into Morimoto Napa, you know you’re in for a special experience. The space blends refined elegance with a warm Napa Valley welcome, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal. The standout of the night was, without question, the Wagyu beef. Served sizzling, it was rich, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth tender—truly the star of the show. Each bite was a perfect balance of luxurious flavor and delicate texture, elevated by the tableside presentation. Other dishes didn’t disappoint: the miso black cod was beautifully glazed and flaky, the ribs offered a deep, savory-sweet richness, and the sushi roll delivered clean, crisp flavors with a fresh pop of asparagus. Even the side of truffle fries was executed perfectly—golden, crisp, and aromatic. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the pacing of the meal allowed time to truly savor each course. Prices reflect the quality and craftsmanship, making this a destination for special occasions or when you simply want the best.

Coming here for dinner was a great idea. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, clean, and the atmosphere is inviting. Every dish I had here was great, and they kept on getting better as the night went on. The drinks here are good as well, and they don't skimp on the alcohol. I'd say that the prices do match what you get in quality and taste. Service was great, and they took care of any requests very quickly. This is a great upscale Japanese restaurant by the Napa River that I'd recommend to anyone visiting. Overall, if you're looking for some Japanese cuisine and are in Napa Valley, Morimoto is the place to go.

Went for Lunch at Morimoto in Napa is definitely an experience, especially if you are a fan of the "Iron Chef" legacy. The restaurant itself is stunning, located in a beautiful spot in downtown Napa with a vibrant, upscale energy. The food was good overall, and you can tell that the ingredients are high quality. However, when it comes to the sushi specifically, it was not the best sushi I have encountered. It was well-prepared and fresh, but it lacked that "wow" factor or unique depth of flavor that you might expect from a restaurant with this much prestige and a high price tag. 💰 Premium Pricing and Small Portions One of the main takeaways from my visit was the disconnect between the price and the portion sizes. While you expect to pay a premium in Napa, the prices were definitely a little high for what was delivered. More importantly, the portion sizes were quite small. It felt like we were paying more for the brand and the location than for the actual amount of food on the plate. If you are coming here with a big appetite, be prepared to order several dishes to feel satisfied, which can quickly lead to a very expensive tab. 🌊 Beautiful Setting and Sleek Design The ambiance is arguably the strongest part of the Morimoto experience. - Industrial Chic: The interior design is modern and sophisticated, striking a great balance between urban style and Napa's relaxed vibe. - Excellent Location: Being right by the riverfront makes it a perfect spot for a scenic walk after dinner. - Solid Presentation: While the portions were small, the plating was artistic and beautiful, fitting the high-end theme of the restaurant. - Friendly Service: The staff were professional and helpful, ensuring that the meal flowed smoothly despite the busy environment. 👍 Final Verdict: A Mixed Value Proposition I’m giving Morimoto Napa 4 stars because the food quality is still high and the environment is fantastic. However, the combination of small portions and high prices makes it a bit hard to recommend as a frequent stop. It’s a great place for a one-time visit or a special occasion where you care more about the vibe and the name than getting the best value for your money. This was my birthday dinner and I was very excited to eat at a restaurant by a chef of this caliber. Maybe my expectations were too high. The evening left me disappointed from start to finish. Bummer. The restaurant itself was packed and the vibe was outstanding. We were seated and ready for an amazing experience. Unfortunately, flavor was missing, seasoning non-existent and the service was abysmal. The mixed vegetables were undercooked (for my taste), the sauce didn't stick and it had zero salt. The duck fried rice was overdressed with sesame oil which dominated everything. The sushi was just ok and nothing to write home about. Service was slow at best and missing most of the time. We left hungry and without dessert. Our server didn't seem concerned that we didn't eat much of the food. Turn that table! The $300 bill was less than expected, but far more than the value and experience we had that night. Quality control seems to be missing. Management is missing. Passion about food and service are missing. Not the standard I would have thought Morimoto would require. I even reached out about our experience and have not heard anything back.
