Authentic Argentinian Spot – Great Food and Vibe This is a very typical Argentinian restaurant with delicious, authentic food at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and there's a TV you can watch while you eat, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. My favorite dish is the choripán, but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the traditional options. I've been here twice, and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Orange County.
El Gaucho meat market got a good torta. I love the south american drinks plus they’re always friendly. I just found out today you can have wine from argentina while you wait for your torta. They have plenty of wines to choose from. The torta has the tastiest meat ever. Its combination of ranchera and cesina which are fine mexican style carne asada. The bread is so different in texture and taste. The torta is simple with lettuce tomato and mayo or cream something like that. They also have steak empanadas I'ma try next time I'm in.
Love coming here for my yerba mate, they had a lot of brands to choose from. Their menu is so delicious as well with a football ⚽ vibe to it in the dining :)
Want to go on record saying I have been coming here since I was a child. Great store, the meat is phenomenal, it's really hard to mess it up when cooking. I typically go for the meat because the cuts can't be found at anywhere else, this is definitely a speciality meat shop. Cuts they usually have- Mojella, whole Ribeye, Short ribs, Argentinian Sausage(2 kinds) picanha, vacio, entraña, arrachera, milanesa, sometimes chinchullines/tripa then they have some imported cheeses, I always get provolone and they also have prosciutto for half the price of other places, I used to get that at whole foods, but now I'll get it here. They have products from all of south america, peruvian, brazilian, argentinian, uruguayan. I also frequent the deli, MY FAVORITE FOOD OF ALL TIME is the empanadas they have. And the chimichurri is to die for, I always leave with a new bottle, it's super worth it. GREAT SELECTION of WINE as well, not available at chain stores. Go here!
Great Argentinian sandwiches. My favorite are the chivito and lomito. Mixed it up papa's fritas and empanada, definitely hits the spot! You can also select sodas, beer or wine to go along with it.
Great service. They have lots of Peruvian ingredients in the market section.
Came I. Today to try the milanesa sandwich, the choripán, and the meat empanadas. Everything was delicious. Their chimichurri was very good. After eating we went to the market area and bought some Argentine products: alfajores, sándwiches de miga, pizzas, mate, dulce de leche y facturas. I wish I lived closer to this area, I would probably come here weekly.
The best place to watch football with real true fans of Latin American soccer teams, enjoy the games with the best food (empenadas and chimichuri.)and pick up your grocery on your way home

Authentic South American empanadas @ reasonable prices. Plus a good selection of produce from Argentina and Uruguay. The elusive Inca Cola from Peru could also be found here.

Great community grocery store. Highway quality and friendly staff. The best empanadas in OC!
Great place to find authentic Argentinean products! The butcher is super friendly and honest, always making sure you get the best quality.
Nice spot for chicken or steak sandwiches. Simple but really good. Prices are reasonable and food comes out fairly quick. They have a meat and market section as well as alittle dining area. Seems like a well run business with attentive staff and owner.

Very small market.. with very limited meat selection.. they are some quality beef at reasonable price . Nor as expected as other reviews in internet
El Gaucho Meat Market has great food, especially the empanadas. Unfortunately, on 12/13/25, we received poor customer service from the man working in the food section. While the food is excellent, the attitude and service were disappointing and not acceptable from a place we usually enjoy.

This is the second time I have requested the matambre cut shaved, and once again, my request was completely ignored. The first time, a rude and dismissive employee cut it like steaks, despite my very clear instructions. When I pointed out that I had specifically asked for it shaved, he told me it wasn’t possible, then proceeded to ignore me and move on to another customer. I later went to Continental Gourmet—just one mile away—and they prepared it exactly as I requested. I even returned to show him that it was, in fact, possible. He laughed in my face. Today, during my second attempt, I was relieved to see a different employee—a kind Latina lady—and I explained once again, very clearly, that I wanted the matambre shaved, even if it fell apart. While I was purchasing other products, I noticed the same man from my previous visit desperate to talk to her and bad mouth me, apparently instructing her to disregard my request. Sure enough, she handed me the same thick, steak-style cut. Once again, I left without my matambre. This level of disregard for customers’ requests is unacceptable. It’s not only unprofessional—it’s disrespectful. The staff clearly lack basic customer service skills and take no accountability for their repeated mistakes. Today was the last time I set foot in that store. El Gaucho Grill and his team have absolutely no understanding of what customer service means. Make sure you go to Continental Gourmet 12921 Prairie Ave. They are kind and they cut your matambre the way you wanted it, no questions asked. Thanks heavens for Google reviews.
Quality of made food can be a miss at times and prices have been creeping up to the point it has gotten too expensive. Understandable but when visiting other Argentine deli locations that are even smaller and prices are cheaper makes me feel I’m getting ethnically priced gouged. Pros: facturas, and pastries Cons : house made chorizo is trash, made with left over unwanted meat/ fat pieces makes it rubbery inedible and pricey. Sandwiche de miga is hot garbage, it’s dry every single time I buy them and one time they started to taste sour meaning they started to spoil. the el gaucho in manhattan beach is better but not by much and also a drive. El rincon Argentino is years ahead of these places in terms of food quality and prices but also a drive.
The empanadas were good but they treated us so bad and they didn't have water
This place humiliated my parents, and discriminated for asking prices. My parents went in here to ask for prices because they were so happy this place had Peruvian goodies. My parents were devasted how this people treated my parents. All this was because my sibilants were undocumented. At that very moment my parents decided never to ever go back. This place only care if you buy something and they are over PRICE. These people will not have a conversation neither you or greet you. Zero stars. Customers should realized how these employees treat people.
