HUGE selection of authentic Filipino food, plus they have a lot of Filipino snacks, occasional selection of rice cakes, they even have balut and fresh empanadas. Great place to go if you're not feeling Jollibee or Red Ribbon a couple stores away.

They offer plenty of viands to choose from. The price is affordable and the food tastes amazing! It is very comfort food for me and I would reccomend this place to anyone who wants to try Filipino food. This place also sells Filipino chips, canned food, candies, and more.

Good Filipino food at reasonable prices...was just there on my official 2nd visit today after remembering how I liked their pancit and sinigang na baboy the 1st time I ate there a month ago! The lady who got my order today was also really friendly and rather funny, gives you welcoming feeling!(the slightly tall skinny one, 6:30pm 3/24/16). Found out from her they're open until 8:30, 8:45pm, so more time to get your dinner!

Absolutely love the food they serve here. Makes you feel like youre back home in the Philippines. The people are also genuinely nice and helpful, which makes the experience even more appealing. I had the opportunity to try the balut and it was definitely something I will remember!😂

i walked in for the first time and the smell of the delicious food and the various filipino brands of snacks immediately made me feel like i was a child visiting the house of my tita cora on christmas when all the extended family would gather together

One of Anaheim's best filipino restaurants in California for a long time.. very reasonable price, & as always, real flexible hospitality and original fresh, hot variety.. yummy food from 9am to 9pm.. now run by second family generation.. a tradition! On top of that, great staffs of pinoy culture; like the popular Lisa&Elsa team, the cebuana & mexicana who almost speak fluent pinoy..after working there.. 20yrs.? The place is very cozy, relaxing, big enough you can mingle well with other pinoy & customers. Big enough lots of over-the-counter stuffs, from pinoy pharma like Efficacent oil, to most pinoy delicacies. Close to other ethnic other Asian restaurants like Jolly Bee, & 99 Ranch grocery for fresh seafood free frying. This whole area is considered Anaheim's Asian Center particularly PINOYS. Just Google this for more info. WELCOME TO PINAS! 🤗💎

The best filipino restaurant in OC! I hate to say it, but that probably includes any place in Cerritos. And even better, there's a Valerio's and a Jollibee's in the same friggin' shopping center, so you can get your filipino bakery fix while you're there!

M
Michelle

So happy I picked up some food from here! Been searching for authentic Filipino food all over OC as I just can't cook it the same way my mom does. Food is phenomenal, but the service is even better. Such warm and welcoming staff. Really put a smile on my face!

I stopped here and ordered the Pan de ube, Chicken tinola soup, Ginataang Bilo Bilo, Apritada, Steamed Rice, and Pork adobo. The tinola was a little spicy. Had a real kick to it. The apritada was good and tender - a bit salty but still good with the carrots and potatoes. The Ginataang was such a nice, little dessert!

I got pork adobo and it was really good, especially with the sauce in the rice. Great little spot for Asian snacks and a lunch at the same time and a spot to sit and enjoy inside.

This place is the closest Filipino store and restaurant to our hotel, good thing I decided to check because it satisfied my craving for a good pork sinigang.

First time here on my stop in Anaheim. Great two-in-one restaurant and shop. Great selection of Filipino dishes. All of it looks amazing. I got the Mungo and Menudo. Nice long table inside with plenty of seats and also some outdoor seating available as well. Only complaint I have is the price is a bit more expensive compared to other Filipino takeout restaurants, even compared to the ones in SD. The mungo was only the soup, no meat. Menudo was perfect. Overall 5 stars. 👍

Small Philippine grocery/restaurant. Excellent for a quick bite or quick shopping if you need any ingredients for your cooking. Portions at their little restaurant are more than generous, being good value for what you pay. The only thing is it can get quite crowded at some point, specially if a big group comes in to eat.

Food was excellent, service was quick. Maybe Matthew Won should of gotten up earlier instead of showing up just before they close. Or maybe he thought that the employees would wait for his highness to finish his meal and maybe drive him home when he's done. Dont be a jerk when posting things on business owners reviews Mr.Won. your lucky you got your food in a togo bag.

Have been coming here since I was a child. Most of their dishes are good though feel some of the prices could be better. Another go to when we want Filipino food but can't decide what in particular to eat.

The chicken aftrida is actually good. I thought since it's a fast food place it wouldn't hit the spot but I was wrong, their food is delicious. Also the lady that served us was very accommodating.

I had the menudo and the binagoan.. menudo was really good.. binagoan was salty for my taste. They give you a good amount. The service was on point.. I would go back there.

Being generous for 4 stars bcz if the owner is there, food quality and service are great; but if employees - everything goes to the pit. Consistency is needed.

I would love to give Kapit Bahay 5 stars. We have been coming here since the early mid-2000s until we moved to Inland Empire. Our last visit this weekend, however, gripped my usual expectations of comforting satisfaction. We got the Corned Beef, Kare², Tinola, and different brands of Hopia. What surprised me was the pugnacious taste of the Corned Beef - it's at the edge of spoilage. Maybe I was just being over reactive so I kept quiet. The Kare-Kare's meat (tripe) were not soft. It was not sufficiently simmered that it could be easily chewed and swallowed, but the sauce and vegies are one thumb up. I hope they simmer the meat longer because this savory dish would end up in the trash. The Chicken Tinola is good. One complain is: there is only 3 very small bite-size pieces in it that the ala carte price would seem too expensive. I wish Kapit Bahay can make the adjustments, bring back the quality.

First time here. Got the 2 item meal w/pancit instead of rice with the pork and chicken adobo. I found all three dishes a bit salty. But seeing I went an hour before closing, I can see why. Will give it a try earlier in the day and will update. Other than being a bit salty, the flavor for all three dishes were good.

Did Kapitbahay change ownership? Everything was different the last two times we went there for take out Filipino food! The pinakbet was not Pinoy-style pinakbet; very bland and lack the unusual veggie-bagoong-meat fine mix! We also ordered Tochong Bangus; the bangus they used were the 6-inch milkfish, and didn’t taste good at all. Mostly we go there for their goodly tasting & crunchy garlic peanut, but now the peanuts are salty, no longer crunchy and the garlics were burnt! What happened to Kapitbahay? The owners we knew from several years back were no longer there — replaced by 3 or 4 Hispanic ladies! Is Kapitbahay now owned by non-Pinoys?

M

We came 30 minutes before closing, but it was clear they wanted us to leave as they gave us a togo box with no tray without even asking if it was for here or togo. The service was just was mediocre as the food. 50 cent extra charge for debit/credit cards. Total for a two entree meal was 8.60. Pretty standard filipino fast food price. 3 stars for overall mediocrity. Since it's close to home I guess it is an alright place to fulfill a quick fix for Filipino food. I'll update my review if I notice a change next time, since so many people seem to like this place a lot

Pretty standard Filipino cafeteria style diner. Food is good, though if you're not Filipino (like me), they almost wonder what you're doing here. Well, I like sisig too you know? Not trying to imply they're unfriendly here, that's not the case at all, but just that this is basically an OG place that doesn't really attempt to cater to the non Filipino crowd. That's cool, those are often the best sorts of places, though in my inexpert opinion this place is just maybe slightly above average.

M
Maria Gabrielle T.

I ordered their pinakbet and beef kare-kare for take out. They provided very small portions with small cups of rice. When I went home, I tasted the food. Pinakbet was salty, mostly had squash and green beans, barely any meat. Same with the kare kare, just a lot of sauce with small portions of vegetables and barely any meat. I thought that their foods were way overpriced. $13 for small entrees? Come on. Not coming here again. I prepared and cooked kare kare on my own and it was way more budget friendly and much more delicious.

To be honest when I walked in, I had a good chilled vibe. Feels a little bit crowded to eat inside needed AC on full blast. I was sweating, but the food was OK not the best but it wasn’t bad either. I wanted to try the Turin so bad but they are small, but it does taste good overall it’s a good place to try once, but I don’t think I will be coming here again.

Usual Pinoy fares. The eating area is crowded with overflowing merchandise resembling the dining room of a hopelessly incurable hoarder. Price wise, it is just the usual Pinoy price point: fried dried fish serving is worth the price of an American burger somewhere else. It stinks but it tastes good comforting the homesickness of the home country. I hope the price is just right.

This place is good but the lady who served me and girlfriend really didn't care about us even when we ask politely for banana ketchup, just be warned some of the food is spoiled just be warned, overall the customer service and the experience is what ruined this place for us, as if they are only doing this for a pay check, one thing is for sure, nobody stays on top forever.

Not honest ingredients..ordered Pakbet and all it has are mushy GREEN BEANS and squash! I've never had Pakbet like that ever before! I also ordered a couple more dishes and they don't even fill it up with the meat but with sauce. They don't wipe the over spill on the side of the container nor wrap the individual dishes..go figure what happens when you transport your food... A MESS!!! The only good thing going for this restaurant is location, since it's by the highway and convenient to go to. Otherwise, just go to Jollibee next to it or go inside 99 Ranch to order their cooked food! Update: I gave this place another shot. And AGAIN, it was DISAPPOINTING! I only ordered fried Tilapia with rice. I think they did NOT prepare a fresh fish to fry but INSTEAD...fried an OLD GRILLED FISH! Yuck!!!!

Their food is old and recycled so many times I bought some peanuts which was hard and stale I threw it out and it was pricey too $7.95 for a small containerI wouldn’t order any food after I saw their food

Lost its quality. Now it's just overly salty, small potions and cost way too much. I'm not a chef, i cook 95% of my meals. Even i know not to over salt or over use vinegar. Food is too greasy, too salty n over price. What made this place known was its quality for the price. Now, they are doing the complete opposite. Saving on cost, lost flavor n replaced it with pure salt. As a former fan of this place, i suggest simplfy the menu, stop selling things don't buy. Go back to the basics. Serve, fresh, good filipino food with deceng portions to match the price. If not, i do not see this place surviving. Poor quality food. Ratings don't pay bills, the quality of food does!

Why do still exists? Tripe in Kare Kare is a little sour ( tripe might be leftover bad KK and reused meat) meat used is tough for Kare Kare use. All vegetable in it were all over cooked. That must be leftover from previous day, taste and look like, cant really see it its too dark inside. It doesn't taste KK anymore, just didn't complain bec we will never comeback anymore. Servers doesn't wear mask when serving. The chopsuey, again didn't see the quality of veggies due to dark lighting inside. didn't eat it. Please have mercy, human are the one's gonna eat it, it's so overcooked. We ate outdoor dining that's why the quality of the food became so visible. Have mercy 🥺

I have got take out a few times here. Very disappointed now. Got overcharged three consecutive times. Ordered one 3 item meal they decided to put third item in a separate container. I told no please only three items no extras please. Order should be 11.99 got charge 17.50. This was a take out order for for one meal. Cashier never apologized or made adjustment. So I will go elsewhere to get food maybe Jollibee. I never had an issue service was quick Very polite too.

Entree portions are very small. We also tried the halo halo which was in a 10oz cup. Not very good quality toppings! Go down the street to MJ's Pinoy Fiesta which has better portions and higher quality food for a lower price.

This review is for the items we bought not the cooked food items. The Ube that we purchased is sooooo bad. Expensive items. The pan de coco and pan de ube doesnt have any fillings. The bread is stale. They forgot our turon. Customer service is top notch though. But i feel bad that they sell bad items. Wont be returning though. I purchased one Ube, one leche flan, pan de coco (4 small pieces of bread) pan de ube(same size as pan de coco), small pastillas which contains 10 small pieces and two turon all cost $50 then it asks for a tip? Need a refund on that tip.

So earlier this morning I stopped by Kapit Bahay to pick up some breakfast for my wife and son while I was out. When I arrived, it was just me and one other customer there, The trays were full of food it looked promising, I was excited to bring some home for my family. I was initially going to leave a 2-star review, but I changed it to 1 star after finding a strand of hair in our bag, marinating in oil from either the corned beef or pork tocino. The original 2 stars was becaus I was expecting a little more food for spending $28 on x2 2-item combos, at least an egg like other Filipino places. But unfortunately, we received fell short. My wife also mentioned that one of the Longganisas seemed like it was a day old and was inedible. Sadly as well, the older gentleman wasn’t as “neighborly” as the store name suggests. Aside from that, the food tasted okay, but it definitely wasn’t worth $28, both in terms of quantity and quality. I was excited to try this place out since we’re Filipino ourselves and we love a good filipino breakfast but this place honestly was not worth it in my opinion. I also rarely leave reviews, but I was so disappointed in the serving that I ended up going to Red Ribbon to buy extra food just in case 😂. Maybe they had an off morning or something, but I just wanted to share my experience. Thanks for reading! 🤙

I bought 1/4 tray of noodle last sunday for my cousin birthday it cost 40dollats for 1/4 tray. 40bucks for 1/4 tray. Trau wasnt even full for 40bucks! I bought this combo, and I was so disappointed. I ordered a lechon kawali and some fried rice, and I saw the lady scoop the rice from the rice cooker, put it into a container, and sprinkle some powder on it. And that's what they call fried rice. I ordered my food to-go, and when we checked the food as we came home, the rice was expired, and i only got four small pieces of lechon kawali . The noodles has a weird taste and such little meat mixed in with it, and the rest of it is just cabbage. I am never going back to this place, they're cheating their customers. All their doing is heating up their old food for the next day and serving it to the customers.

K

Don't get the Lechon or the pork adobo. Seems like everything was overcooked. But the lechon was just pure oil when you bite into it. The meat portion of it is so dry. Extremely overcooked. I tried explaining that to the lady but she just brushed it off like it wasn't a big deal.
