Excellent food with excellent service! I usually take more pictures, but it smelled so good and I was so hungry..there was no time for pictures! I shared the huge breakfast burrito, and an egg sandwich, and devoured all of it! I was in massive amounts of pain for overstuffing myself, but it was well worth it! :-) **The dining room is extremely small, not suggested for parties over 4-6 people I would think. The bathroom is through the small house style kitchen and food is exposed to you passing by: I suggest not using, although it is very clean, as is the kitchen.
Had breakfast on the 4th of July. The waiter was very friendly and helped fill in some of the history of the old photos hanging on the wall. I created my own omelet which was very good and substituted the toast with a homemade biscuit. I just wish I had asked for a side of gravy to go with it. The biscuit was screaming for gravy. Coffee was strong and hot. I I grew up in a small rural town and loved the small cafe feel. We came for the history and loved that Angels Creek Cafe felt part of it.
Went here for breakfast while on vacation with the family. Small place, but doesn't matter as long as the food is good..... and let me tell ya. Food was delicious. Service was excellent, and the price was right.
Epitome of a cute little country town cafe. The corned beef hash and eggs was amazing. Definitely not canned. The service was superb. One girl kicking ass! Loved this little cafe.
Outstanding service even though packed with customers. Interesting menu. I had a buffalo chicken soup that was hearty and spicy. Perfect for a cold winter day. Waiter asked me to tell the cook personally so I went in the kitchen and delivered my compliment. The whole experience was happy and tasty. My niece is the mayor of this town...lucky girl. Great place.
Family owned/operated. Cozy and warm. Coffee is great. I'm not a generally a gravy fan, but their sausage gravy is outstanding. Everything is homemade. Breakfast was so good, that I ordered lunch to go, and that was tasty as well. If you are traveling through Angel's Camp towards Sonora, it will be on your right hand side. Don't blink, or you'll miss it. It's worth stopping here. You won't be disappointed or hungry. I didn't post pics, but will in the near future.
The service was ok.. One person was very nice and the other was pretty cold and seemed like maybe she didn't like customer service. That aside. The food is fresh and the chef is awesome. You can smell them making your food and it feels special because that's just your plate. Its not the same thing as the person next to you... It literally is home cooking at a restaurant. The biscuits were mind blowing. The gravy wasn't my favorite but the home made biscuits made it delicious. The omelette was great and the hash browns were perfect! Little crunch but not burnt. Love it.
The food came fast and delicious! The waitress was very nice. And, the atmosphere so so cute and small! You have to try this place:) looking forward to seeing you again, thanks Angel's Creek Cafe!
This is a cafe; in every way possible. Awesome, historic location, great staff, quick and good food. Nothing bad to say at all. I ordered the mineshaft omelet and a black coffee and it was just right for my day of exploring Calaveras County!
Good food and good vibes. Good way to start a day for sure.
Such a cute spot to grab some delicious food. The restaurant is small so you might have to wait to get a table if they are busy, but the food and service are 100% worth the wait. Food is all made to order so it's fully customizable to fit your needs. We will be back for sure.
I came in this morning with the shop crew, looking forward to a nice hot breakfast on a cold, rainy morning. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent—friendly, attentive staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. Our food arrived quickly and was served piping hot, which was perfect given the weather outside. Every dish was flavorful and satisfying, making the whole experience enjoyable. I highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking a delicious, well-prepared breakfast with great service, especially on a dreary day.
18 family members descended upon this tiny family-owned & run cafe on Mother's Day as we started our 5-day family road trip to honor our dad's passing by going to several of his favorite places. This cafe is one of his favorite places, simple and so good. The place is super cute, the food is fresh and delicious and the service is wonderful!
If your looking for excellent food, look nor further. Decided to try something different today it was our first visit to Angels Creek Cafe. The biscuits and gravy were absolute 🔥☄️🧯🚒 it reminded me of my Grammy Bears recipe. We will definitely be back soon. Highly Recommended
We love this little hometown restaurant and go here whenever we're in the area! Food is great, servers are friendly and helpful. I will warn you, go here with an appetite! Serving are generous!
A great little place! Service was great, food was fast and delicious, lots of options and generous portions. Our oldest was beyond grumpy (hangry) and the guy tried so hard to help us flip him to happy. We went for a late bunch and would definitely go again.
Most incredible gravy! The Loaded Chuck every time! Great family run establishment. Don't miss out.
This place is awesome! All the ambiance someone could wish from a small storefront cafe. Located right in historic Angel's Camp this place is a gold mine in its own right. The food was excellent, the service wonderful and the atmosphere laid back and relaxed. I not only enjoyed every bite, I enjoyed every minute. If you are in the area, stop by.
Omelet was good. Serve fast and friendly. Location 📍 great, price reasonable. Small HISTORICAL place, might be busy. ... Since visited the first time, I come here a few more times. Still enjoying each visit.
When you think of a small town cafe this place comes to mind. I got the meat lovers omelette and it was spot on! Great food and service. Great place to eat.
Cute cozy cafe in downtown Angel's Camp. Came on a Sunday morning. Folks were friendly. I ordered the chicken fried steak which was fantastic. If I stay in this town again I'll definitely treat myself

Just vacationing in town & found a gem with good food & good service... went 2 out of my 3 days in town for breakfast
Best biscuits and gravy. We split it between 3 people. Omelettes and hash browns were delicious. Good coffee and nice people!
This is where our family has our first meal in the year of 2026. Cosy family-run business. Clean, attentive, good food. Be sure to order omelet, really yummy!
Great little local café. Seating area is tiny and they won't move tables but the food was good and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. Will definitely be back if we are in the area again!

This restaurant is just a hole in the wall on highway 49 in Angels which has only one street of businesses. It has just 7 tables and a 4 seat bar indoors and one table on the the sidewalk next to the street which is a busy 2 lane highway with many trucks and logging trucks. Despite all the tables being full and only one server our breakfasts were excellent: served quickly, flavorful, hot, fresh, not greasy.
Small local hole in the wall excellent food had breakfast the eggs and the pancakes and hashbrowns. Amazing would’ve loved to have some menu items that were specific for children or à la carte items and that’s the only issue. I would think I would say let’s improve on. It’s definitely old-school vibe. The people are very nice services. Great food was amazing. Definitely suggest stopping by.
Surprisingly very good... my expectations were very low and it was the only restaurant that allowed us to eat with our dog. It was a killer burger and the waiter/locals explained the town was famous for frog jumping competition that takes place every year. Mark Twain wrote about the town and they gave us advice to go to Mercer Caverns in Murphy’s Ranch. They called to make sure they were open and everything. Highly recommend. Everything was fresh and not dumped in a bucket of butter!
Just returned from a nice little breakfast jewel. After coming out of the COVID days.A quaint little shop with a homey feel. Situated downtown Main Street. With a seating capacity of 18 or so, our party of 7 was accommodating. Deanna, our waitress was cordial and kind. We had various order from traditional breakfast to burgers and French dip. I had the Chuck Wagon: hash brown, bacon, grilled onion, bell pepper smothered with their home gravy. I found it tasty with the crunchy hash browns along with toast and eggs. Others had waffles and pancakes which were okay according to my kids. A nice local place to visit. As always post your adventures where ever your pallets takes you.
The is a downtown Angels Camp dining experience. It’s a small town friendly café. Just recently under new ownership. Stop by and give them a try. Great place to begin the day exploring gold country, or stop by for lunch. There’s limited seating so there can be a wait.

The only reason I gave the food a 4 star is because certain things were missing. 1 breakfast was supposed to have 3 pancakes and the other was with toast. They gave 2 pancakes with the one breakfast and no toast and a pancake with the other. Plus they didn't have togo containers. So, what you couldn't finish, you had to waste or stuff yourself and get sick. The food was really good, so, we choose the latter. Lol. It's a cute little place. Smells like Granny's kitchen during weekend sleepovers. The owner was as funny as he was friendly. His jokes tickled me. Overall, I'm glad we stopped in.

The food was okay, with a tiny amount of potato salad. The sandwich was dry but good. The chairs were all very wobbly and extremely scary to sit in. I tried a few different ones, and they were all the same. Was scared the whole time sitting in them. Would not go back.
The food is great but the service and attitude of the worker ruined it, I’ve been here over five times to see if this guy would change his attitude but it seems to be the same every time, as soon as I walk in the door he’s already rushing me to order even if there’s only one other customer inside so what’s the point in being rude if your not stressed to begin with? Accused me of smoking hard drugs because I came in one morning after not getting any sleep. I never touched them in my life I use marijuana which is a legal substance and besides I never showed any disrespect to this guy I always greet him with a friendly “hello” or “how are you” and he just rushes me to order while everyone else seems to get his friendly side. I still tipped this place every time hoping he would lighten up a little bit. I work in the service industry and this is no way to treat a customer. I came in today for breakfast and sadly this will probably be my last. Don’t get me wrong the food is amazing here and you should definitely try it, but then again like when I was in there today I came in and said hello and sat down, he walks to my table and kind of throws a menu or slams it down on the table at me which seems like I just ruined his day already just by being there. The food arrived at a decent time but another thing is I could have ordered a couple more things but he cut me off and just walked away before I could even finish my sentence. I didn’t even get the chance to order a drink. 😃 And then this guy has the nerve to just throw the bill at me the same way he threw the menu on the table and didn’t even ask if I was done so I felt like he was rushing me to finish eating quicker too. The bill was 16.00 something and the menu item was 13.00 but that could have been the service fee or something no big deal. And on top of all that, I still decided to tip this guy because hopefully there are others who work there that treat people who are “different” with respect. This town is flooded with rude people who bring people down if they don’t fit into the norm.
Like stepping back in time. I had the French dip and substituted fries for salad. Remember guys you can do it!
Food was low quality, poorly plated and sever wasn't ready to be a server yet .
This very well maybe a nice place. We will never know. My wife is very sensitive to heat, and inside it was very very very hot. Much hotter then outside. We asked to be seated outside (there is a 2 person table), and got a flat refusal. Had no choice but to walk out. Sigh. We drive into downtown just for them!
We arrived when it was full and figured that is why things were moving slowly, but in reality it was because they only make one ticket of food at a time, and very slowly. Waited over an hour, watching good basic breakfast come out of kitchen. They were out of gravy which is used with several dishes so we adjusted what we ordered.

TRIED to eat here on Wednesday at 815 AM. Doors locked and lights out. Heard great things, now well just never know....
Can’t rate the food. The atmosphere was nice small and cozy. We can’t rate the food because we had to leave. Our server was amazingly belligerent. We asked for one small substitution/alteration. She flatly said no. You could see the item on the menu. But no. She wasn’t remotely friendly when we tried to figure out the problem. She clearly was having a bad day and projected this on everyone around her. I watched the other customers. They were in disbelief. Very out of character for my husbands to leave. But we did. Sad. I tried to talk to her. Not having it. I don’t think the owner cares who he hires to serve tables. At no time did we return the ‘attitude’ we experienced.
Wasn't very clean, there were more flies than customers. Food was bland. After I sat down to order I realized that probably should have went elsewhere. The waiter had clothing attire that looked like he finished working in his yard. I really don't like to give bad reviews of mom and pop shops, but...
Went in for a to go order for my construction crew, skinny gentleman missing some teeth handed me a menu, said "anywhere you'd like", and walked away. I stood by the counter and watched him and the cook watch the TV behind the counter. Waited a few minutes, and walked out. Just wanted 8 breakfast burritos, 4 griddle combos, and 2 biscuits and gravy orders. I know I'm not local, and I did try and call first with no answer. But if I'm going to drop $150+ to surprise my guys with breakfast, I do expect a "hello", "good morning", or at least a basic acknowledgement when there is only 3 other patrons seated. All good, went down to California Burrito (not the best) and got 13 breakfast burritos in minutes, greeted with a "good morning, how's your day going, and let me know when your ready to order".
