Large portions and great food for good price

Great food as always. Ordered the #3 and it was great tasting, freshly made, and left me wanting more. The wait staff was very friendly and willing to get me what I wanted to eat. Food came out nice and hot, ready to eat. Will be back soon for more.

I got the number three chicken combo. The chicken is mesquite flavored it’s cooked to perfection. It’s delicious he had all the sides and all the dressing that you want and my favorite thing about everything was the corn tortillas. They were square for one thing which was awesome and different and then the flavor and the taste and the texture was just phenomenal. I hate corn tortillas I never ever order them. I didn’t even know my meal came with tortillas or else I would’ve ordered flour tortillas, however I just got tortillas with the meal didn’t know they were coming and so I tried them because they smelled so good and they looked so different and I was correct best corn tortillas Iversen we have ever had they didn’t have any of the attributes that make me hate corn tortillas they weren’t gritty and they were fluffy almost I don’t know they were bomb and the chicken was bomb and they have Horchata and it comes free with your meal. Definitely gonna come here again it’s healthy too. If you’re a truck driver and you’re thinking of going there, I highly suggest you do but I don’t suggest parking in the parking lot behind it because it is very precarious very very deep ruts. You can park at the flying J or you can park at the loves and just walk over. It’s definitely worth every step.

Love, love, Don Carbon. Been a fan from the start. The grilled chicken and rice are amazing! Their salsas taste like mom's and they have always had great customer service. Definitely a great place, for a quick bite that isn't going to break the bank.

I gotta say this place takes pride in cleanliness. Not to mention the service! Keep up the good work I will be definitely be coming back!

It's fast food thats fresh and delicious. I had the 3 piece meal and it came with 2 sides, tortillas, 2 salsas, a roasted pepper and a fountain drink for $12. They have a fit bowl if you want to be healthier. And beer if you want to have a drink with your meal. They also wiped down the tables as soon as the guests leave, so it's really clean. If you're in the area or if you're laying over at one of the truck stops, this is a good place for you. I'll be back myself👍

I was very pleased with their high quality meal and friendly customer service . Their chicken was absolutely delicious and didn’t have that low quality meat flavor and smell that other restaurants use. The restaurant was so clean. Thank you to the young gentleman who explained and helped me select my meal! And ooh the guava pie was so good!

Visited this location on July 22nd 2023. I went inside the establishment and proceeded to order my food. The attention to service by a cashier named Ximena was outstanding, She greeted me as I approached the counter to order. She helped me order my food and explain the different options at the menu. I felt calm and not rushed ordering my food. When it came to receiving my food she greeted me again with a smile and ensure I had everything that I had ordered. Everything came out amazing from the food , to the attention to customers. Will be returning to order here more often .

Very few places have this flavor in chicken! Ask for number 3, if you visit alone. It’s enough

I am writing this review while in another chicken restaurant and let me just say...there is no comparison! Don Carbon is quite possibly the best chicken place. It's so flavorful, moist and tender. I tried both the regular and lemon pepper. They were both really good but I think the lemon pepper is better. The staff were also very attentive at this location. I did not expect this from a chain. I will from now on compare all grilled chicken to Don Carbon's. Update: Still pretty darn good chicken. Also try the fit bowls.

Love it! We're big fans of their fajitas and their charro beans but love pretty much their whole menu. Salsas always on point too. Tried their cheesecake for the first time recently (labeled cream cheese pie) , flavor was great it was just a tad bit grainy. Whenever I need to grab fast food but want something light I order a chicken breast and a plain baked potato with their salsas. Always great.

This place is surprisingly good. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, the tortillas fresh, and the salsas are great. It may seem a little pricey, but trust me the portions are big, we usually have enough food leftover for seconds.

I've never had anything less than an outstanding meal. Local chain of delicious delicious and fairly healthy food. If you like grilled chicken, you're in the right place, though they also have beef options (v good burger, also beef quesadilla) and I think a few veggie things. Pro tip: get any chicken meal (sandwich or half chicken) with lemon pepper. All meals come with a Toreado, which is a soy sauce grilled jalapeno. They're a little spicy, but not as insane as they look. Maybe skip if you can't do any spice at all, but otherwise give it a try. They also have one of the better indoor playground, good for letting kiddos use up some energy on a road trip

This place was AMAZING 😍! I had the Angus Hawaiian Burger, it almost literally took me to Hawaii. Their fries tasted like Food Truck or Fair fries just less greasy. I went through drive through, so I don't know what service was like. The atmosphere from the outside however was nice. It felt welcoming. The food takes a minute, but it's so worth it. Thank you Don Carbon!

Being a Chef for 16yrs has made it difficult to enjoy most restaurants and I don't eat fast food. First time to this city and restaurant it is excellent. Got chicken fajitas could tell the chicken was few hours old but very flavorful. It's a mix between a sit down restaurant with the speed of fast food. Just need to get a franchise back in Kansas.

I'm from North Carolina. Was passing thru. Best Mexican style grilled chicken I've had in awhile. I think the key is to get it fresh off the grill. So good.

This was my first time to Don Carbon. When I walked inside I was impressed how clean and sharp everything looked. We ordered at the counter chicken, beans, salad, and tortillas. Our order was delivered to our table in short time nice and hot. The staff also brought to our table a variety of salsas, grilled jalapeños, and pickled onions. I noticed the corn tortillas we ordered were square, this I had never seen before. After making a chicken tacos with several of the items brought to our table, and took a bite I could tell this was done right. It was delicious! Beans and salad were also delicious. The price vs quality and quantity was also good. Loved everything about this place including the square tortilla. ❤️

I rarely leave reviews but I was so pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! I stopped for gas across the street and saw they had a drive thru so I decided to stop. I got the chicken fitbowl and the guava pie. Both were incredible! Usually these kinds of bowls barely have any chicken but the chicken was plentiful and delicious! The guava pie was a perfect blend of creamy goodness, sweetness and the crumble crust was awesome!

I loved the chicken from here, it’s very tasty and fresh. They have good ice cream, I loved the strawberry fire. My little girl enjoyed herself on the playground, while she played we enjoyed ourselves with a beer. Great place, great customer service, and very cheap.

Oh my goodness!!!!! The fit bowl with half chicken and half steak strips was amazing!!! I didn't realised the fit bowl had quinoa and kale which made the bowl even better. Definitely coming back whenever I am back in town.

This place has the best food I have ever had at a restaurant, anywhere! The customer service here is amazing. Additionally the establishment was very clean and welcoming. The owner should be proud. As my first time being here and not sure what to eat, the order taker/cashier recommended 3 different pallets for me. I ended up getting the steak fajita with salad and potatoe as well as the #3 combo made with Buffalo sauce rice and fries. The food tasted so amazing I immediately had to call my wife and tell her. Everything perfectly season, cooked, tempered, and plated. They weren't stingy on the food and made sure by checking twice that everything was to my liking. During my visit I could see them constantly keeping up with cleaning. Everyone seem to enjoy being there including the employees, I know i certainly did. I can't wait to come back to Anthony, TX and go here again. But I did bring some to go as well.

They have truck parking, kids playground inside and drive thru. We ordered chicken fajitas and Don double beef burger. Everything tasted great. They have the best chicken. It took me a while to order but the cashier was patient with me. Overall great experience.

I don’t know where to start, I don’t know if this is a fast food restaurant or an actual restaurant where you sit down?! Regardless this is the best chicken restaurant by far from any other I’ve been to!! Did I mention they have square tortillas? Finally square tortillas are available! The portions are reasonable as well as the price! This is my new favorite fast food restaurant, if I can call it that!! Also very nice, friendly people attend you here!! On my 3rd day in a row coming here I find out they have Guava pie......🤯😍💞 It’s the best Pie I’ve ever had in my life!!!

My fiance loved this place, I just thought it was alright. The seasoning on chicken just wasn't for me. The sides were very good and very large portions. Next time I'll have to try something else

Love this place. I have had many different things on the menu and always satisfied. The only reason why I gave 4 out of 5 is because multiple time I have had to wait between 20 to 30 minutes in the drive thru. I suggest that if you see more than three vehicles in the drive thru. Might be better to just get off and order.

Nice fast food. The chicken is really good and so is the macaroni salad. The charro beans were tasty but I didn’t like the hot dogs in it. Harchata is as good as any out there. The waitress’ are sweet young ladies. Liked the old school music too Ate here again but this time I had the fajitas….. and they were HORRIBLE!!!! Their first attempt to serve was a pile of overcooked lumps of sirloin(as the menu states). No onions, no green peppers and no love! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST FAJITAS EVER SERVED IN AMERICA!!! You’ve been warned. Stick to the chicken. And one final complaint…..the flies in this place are hungry and they drank half of my beer. I only complain to warn everyone and because I like the place but I want to love it.

We tried this place twice while traveling going each way. The first time the steak bowl was phenomenal, the sauce, everything. The drive thru lady handed us a leaky cup of soda, then and on the way back, they gave us a leaky salad in a small box. My suggestion is to serve the salad in a bigger container so you can pour dressing in there and eat it without it spilling everywhere and don't hand anything leaky to customers in their car. Also gave me a chicken breast cut in half when I ordered a whole chicken breast, skimpy. The quality is good, though. The menu is confusing and needs to be rewritten.

Very good flavorful meat. Would recommend to anyone driving in the area. Clean restaurant and friendly service.

I pulled up at the Love’s and spotted this “carbon grill” place from across the street, so I Yelped it to see if anything plant based was on their menu. Guess what?! There was! So I walked over, went inside; the place looked great from the outside with cool ambiance on the inside too—but there was a weird sewage-type smell inside near the front counter area that caught my nose, but nothing too major. Especially since the employees and patrons didn’t seem bothered by it. The burger combo I ordered was made to order, hot, fresh and kind of sloppy as I unwrapped it too (so I knew it was gonna be good)! The menu is nice so I’d definitely recommend. Next time I’m in town, I’ll stop back in, and I hope they stay open late!

First time dining here... Nice location, I like the style... Customer service was great... I had the steak fajitas and they were good... The macaroni salad is like a cornslaw, I really like it... Their fries are like none other, geat flavor, golden and crispy... This meal would have been excellent if the tortillas were fully cooked... I know what you are thinking, why didn't you ask for them to rewarm your tortillas or give you fresh tortillas..? I've worked food service, and if it isn't meat I just don't do it... I will most definitely be returning to try the Burgers... They look amazing...

I didn’t like my burger, but my friend liked the chicken. My friend said he doesn’t like the burgers either. It’s like there is onion spice in the meat which makes it taste weird. Onion is meant for topping a burger. But my friend recommends only the chicken. I wouldn’t return if I based it on my burger.. but I’ll try the chicken next time.

It was not the worst but it was not the best. It needs more Carbon taste, it tasted more like rosetiserrie than Carbon. Pollo Feliz tastes better but way more expensive..

Great concept, poor execution. Chicken was dry and chewy, skin was soft, just meh. Beans were ok but the hot dogs were weird. French fries were just OK. Tortillas and salsas helped the chicken. Green salsa was very watery.

Fajita meat (chicken & beef) was VERY dry. I could not eat it. Like eating flavored chalk. Maybe fajitas should be removed from the menu? I’ve looked through the pics and the fajita meat always looks just like mine - dry. The bone in meat pictures look much better. It probably would be better with sour cream or salsa, but I was not given any and didn’t know to ask. Beans and rice were good, but I will not be back.

Food cold. Price way to high. Was told out of baked potato but the table next to us came in about 10 mins after us & got 2! So wth! Won't be back

Today was my first time trying the food here, and this is how it went. First, let me say this isn't a normal type mextec restaurant. There are no regular beans, no tacos, or burritos. So I ordered the fajitas mixed with the beans they do have, and the rice with grilled onions and cheese and corn tortilla. The meats were horribly dry and had a strange taste. The rice is dry and bland. The beans, well, I didn't even try cause it looked revolting. So i put together a tortilla with the meats grilled onions rice and cheese and got the first bite down though it was like eating flavored chalk and then a second bite but the third bite I spit out I couldn't agree with the taste not even a bit. Here's where the problems started. I paid 19.19 for this food and hated it, so I returned everything. At first, they were not willing to refund my money cause they said since I touched the food, it's not their responsibility anymore well f..k that big time. There is no clear signage saying all sales or purchases are final, and I'm not throwing 20 bucks away for horrible food I didn't eat. So I persisted and after the employee had a long talk on the phone with the manager or whoever they said we'll give you the refund but only this time and I said that's fine there won't be a next time cause I won't ever eat this food again. Through this entire thing, I maintained a respectful low town and was nothing but polite.

Don Carbón in Anthony is definitely not what it used to be. Plenty of times chicken is either dry or overcooked. The purple cebollitas and salsa that used to always taste fresh, now seem to be left too long in the fridge and obviously the taste tells. The fajitas (beef) seem to be reheated rather than freshly cooked. I’ve had instances where some things in my order were left out and after complaining, the girls up front are pretty rude as if the customer is the issue rather than own up and fix THEIR mistake. I understand that mistakes can and will be done on their end (employees) but getting home only to realize that your order is not complete is completely unacceptable, especially when we don't live in town and only drive into Anthony to get food at Don Carbon.

Chicken good but everything else was subpar. Also, chicken had lots of tiny bones. Salsa wasn’t really good either.

The food is decent, but it’s way too overpriced. If you like constant flies around your seating area inside then this is the place for you.

In my, and my wife’s, opinion the food was not good. Tasted and looked like was not prepared onsite but was instead, from a food supply house. Fajitas were a huge disappointment, served cold, no onions or peppers, and expensive. I try to be positive but I will never return, and cannot recommend. We got better Mexican food in Louisiana, than this in El Paso. Mexican food in Maine is also surely better.

Don't come here if you're expecting to grab a quick bite to go. The food's good and the atmosphere is fine, but it took over 40 minutes from the time I placed my order to the time I received it.

Went to get food at 1710 didn't tell any customers was a wait for chicken, at 1750 had to got to work supervisor said chicken will be ready in 12 min that was around 1735. Asked for money back made me late for work. Employees was laughing and standing around ignoring customers on inside not working having a good ole time on customers behalf, wasn't even busy. A chicken place without chicken lol. Manager was lacking, its their job to ensure got stock and running. 20yr vet and Manager myself. Anthony in EL Paso TX by the Loves don't go there unless you want to be ignored and wait!

Probably won’t be returning Ordered a combo to go (been coming here for years) asked for an extra hot sauce and was told I’d have to pay for it. Which is mind blowing because if I were to dine in they give you the entire bottle. $1 extra hot sauce is insane. With my appetite ruined due to lack Of customer service or thereof. I went back inside to return the food. Both MANAGEMENT who’s name is Esmeralda and two other employees tried to refuse my refund stating “there’s nothing wrong with my food” After back and forth exchange and advising them I’d rather not make a scene just give me my money back they returned it to my card. With the audacity to say they’ll do it but it’ll be the last time. My response was NO WORRIES I WONT BE COMING BACK

I’m only complaining about the drive thru. They always make you wait like 5 minutes just to take your order. And then another 10 to give you your order.

UPDATED: Sadly the owner never reached back out to me after sending her two well thought emails about my experiences. I came back again and I am absolutely Disgusted at the amount of incompetence and lack of customer service at this place. I won’t be coming back, this was my favorite place to eat and I’m very saddened that no one seems to care. ——————- Whenever I review a business I like to look at 4 things: 1) Food 2) Mood 3) Consistency 4) Service Don Carbón absolutely knocks it out of the park on 3 of these things. 1) Food: Their food is amazing. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. I have yet to have a bad thing on the menu and the chicken and charro beans are one of my absolute favorite, go to meals. The value for your dollar is definitely there. 5 stars. 2) Mood: The restaurants have been so well thought out that you can tell they were professionally designed and attention was given to detail. Each of the restaurants is unique and yet they all still have the same, great vibe. The bathrooms are always clean and it the entire restaurant always has high health department scores. 5 stars. 3) Consistency: Every single time I go, I know what I'm going to get. The food is on point, it maintains a very high standard. 5 stars. 4) Service: This is their absolute worst attribute. How could you have such a near perfect restaurant that has amazing food, great design and consistently puts out great food and then throw it all away by NOT TRAINING YOUR EMPLOYEES TO TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMER?? It's terrible. It's bad. If you look at the majority of negative reviews, it's because the service is horrible. I've lived in El Paso my entire life so I understand that some employees are not going to have great English, but this seems to be the rule versus the exception at just about every location. Not speaking great English doesn't make you bad, but it's tiring for a lot of customers (as the reviews state time and time again) -- For having so many locations located near IH-10 it's just irresponsible to have people who don't have strong bilingual skills answering the phone or serving customers. In addition, it's like the employees want to not help you. I order from Don Carbón at least once a week and the other day I didn't get 1 of my 12 pieces of chicken in my box. TOO BAD. The sign says, "after you leave, we can't do anything about wrong orders". What kind of place puts the onus on the customer to count TWELVE PIECES OF CHICKEN while picking up food from the drive-thru?? Come on people. I call to mention it and get a "so sorry, we'll make sure it doesn't happen again". I literally spend thousands of dollars a year with this place and getting a "too bad, you should've double checked" is infuriating. Same with asking for a receipt for a Togo order over the phone. I have to mention "can I please get a receipt" every single time, which the reply is "oh we always do that". Yet when I don't mention it, I don't get a receipt. It's almost comical because it happens every. single. time. Lastly - expediting orders. They have a drive-thru which is virtually worthless unless it's empty and you've called in your order. An average order of chicken takes between 10-15 minutes to fill and instead of moving customers up to different spots to wait, they just have someone sitting a the window for 10 minutes. It's such an easy solution yet no one seems to care. Will I come back?? ABSOLUTELY. The food is stellar. The cost is great for feeding the family and employees. It's healthy. It's El Paso. Check this place out, but just know the staff is mostly rude and mostly incompetent.

Horrible place! I understand it’s not a fast food restaurant but these people are just awful. Placed a drive thru order at 8:21 (receipt time). The worker said they didn’t have chicken ready and it would take 7 minutes. It’s 8:45 and I’m sitting still in the drive thru waiting for my food. While waiting I see the workers serving Chicken to all the people inside! On top of that I see a man walking to the kitchen like he is the one who cooks. I don’t know if he was on break but the girl comes to the window and tells me “the cook” needs to put the chicken an additional 10 minutes!! To me it sounds like he just started cooking it. HORRIBLE

This locations drive thru sucks they always make us wait & wait & wait to even start ordering like if waiting for our food isn't a long wait already sheesh they need to get in the program! Seriously that is why it's drive thru !!! (Anthony Tx ) We just left it's always the same thing here!!

Ordered food a few weeks ago, worst looking food I’ve ever received from this location in the last 6+ years. Portion size was tiny and literally looked like they had already eaten most of the chicken fajitas they gave me in the box. Called and spoke with a manager, took my name and said come in anytime to get it replaced. Tried going back to get it replaced and was treated like a thief or something. Horrible customer service and they need to hire real managers who know how to deal with customers. Will never return to this location again. Very disappointed with this Don Carbon this is the second time in a week I was told there was no chicken left first time was 8:30pm and tonight it around 9:15pm but it looked the other folks were getting chicken just not me I see a whole lot of chicken in the back as soon I said I want #3 the cashier told me they don’t have no chicken. This is a horrible experience just in one week

Came in and ordered. After an hour waiting a cashier comes and tells us that yesterday the company changed the grill from carbon to wood and the grill man does not know how to use the grill. The grill man comes and tells us that the grill does not work not knowing that the cashier has already told us about the change in grill and not knowing how to use it. After something like this happens I except a complementary meal because my time is worth more than the 12 bucks we spent here. No money back the cashier told us and 2 complementary was offered to make up for the waste time and bad experience. We are literally never coming back to any of the DonCarbon fast food. It is fast food heated in microwave so u all know the truth meaning everything echoey the chicken. And dirty place.

the drive thru service always takes like 30+ min. The tortillas aren’t ever fresh, they’re hard and grey looking. Not too long ago I ordered the kids boneless bites.. I was in line for half an hour and once I got to the window the young lady told me they were all out of the boneless wings.

Very disappointed, I got the 2 piece combo, chicken size seemed for a toddler and I couldn't believe the chicken was so overcooked! Lady that took our order was in a rush and chicken quesadilla was just disgusting. Only bcuz we were in a hurry and went through the drive-through, did we not say anything.

We order a family chicken meal and the macaroni pasta that we got had a dead fly. When we reported to the person that was in the front she took it to the manager and she just laugh and replace it for other one from the same contaminated container where she got the pasta with a dead fly. Be careful if you decide to eat there. 🤢

The Mac and cheese prices are deceiving. It clearly shows one price for macaroni only and with adding chicken another price, which is deceiving, they charge you another $6 for chicken which comes out to almost $12+ total....for the bowl...and cashier needs to pay attention to the orders, I ordered 3 and they only charged me for 2, when its hot, you are hungry and you want to just get home, pay attention to customer's orders...it's aggravating

The service was very poor we had to ask for the new chicken sandwich twice. I was watching them when they redid it. They stuck it in the microwave.

Waited 45 minutes for chicken. Asked what was going on and they said they ran out of chicken and to wait another 20-30 minutes. Asked for my money back and cashier that renverst my money was very rude! Her name was Nohemi. She said it wouldn't be back in the bank till 3 days. I asked why and she said that's just how long it takes while laughing without any care in the world. Do not recommend.

For a Mexican spot to eat near El Paso Texas this place was not very good, the food was really not pre paired very well the meat was over cooked like it had been sitting in a hot plate just tough no flavor, and the workers are all young kids, with no patients and rude, zero customer service and the place smelled like a dirty towel, I expected more but just can't figure out anything nice to put won't be coming here anymore Don Carbon clear up you act hire people who want to work around food and have a passion for customers service worst place I've been to in a long time dont waste your money here you'll be disappointed.

Sorry Don Carbon, tried the establishment on several occasions but it's to pricey. Portions are to small ( especially the Chicken ) charro beans, don't taste like "charro beans", and the rice has no flavor. Hamburgers don't come with fries ( have to order separately ). I do admit the Chicken has a favorable taste but that's about it. As for service, orders tend to go faster through the drive through. However employees were very friendly.

I’m surprised at the reviews because they are really positive, all these people must be ordering to go because the building is filled with flies. I think the flies know that it is their home because they’re not fearful of the people and they land on the food. It weirdly has a sewer smell walking in passing the restrooms. The food is really good, but it makes me second guess how clean the food actually is. Oh yeah, and I saw an employee eat cheese with her fingers and stick her fingers completely in her mouth twice and continue working.

Customer service horrible. Ordered a dish there to eat then after finishing Ieft a tip on the table. Then I ordered a side to go but I think because I didn't tip on my card I waited over 15 minutes and seen several people come in and order and get there food before I asked where was my dish I ordered and I seen the girl pick it up where it was just sitting and never brought out. Ridiculous. I won't tip there again and I guarantee you that my tip was the biggest in the jar. Smh 🙄

For the location this Don Carbon sits with all the traffic they receive from truckers and close by neighborhood. They should be aware of how product they will need for the day. So I came in on the 10 Aug and wanted to a 12 piece chicken family I was told by the manager that they didn’t have enough but only for a 8 piece in which I purchased. But before that the manager informed me that it was going to be a 15-20 minute wait on the chicken so I agreed. I waited for about 1 hour and 45 minutes during the wait no one approached me to see if I have been help or anything. I finally got up and asked for my order the young girls that was putting all the order well she skipped my order not once but twice. So I addressed my concern to the manager and instead of an apology she ask me if I wanted my money back and she would take the chicken, it’s that I was looking for FREE FOOD I was looking for an explanation on “WHY” my order was skipped. She told me that people think that this place is like a fast food place it’s kind is like churches and Kentucky Fried chicken they actually know how much product they need for the day. Not sure if this manager’s go through a training on productivity and customers service. Also the sewer system is backed up it’s smells as soon as you walk in. So hopefully higher management reads this and address the issues ASAP
